Really enjoyed this 2nd book in the "Lucky" trilogy. The characters, the storyline, and the romance all engaged me and had me wanting to keep reading.

The basis for this series is that there is a curse on the Corwin males where if they fall in love, they will lose their woman and their money. It's affected the family for generations and now the current group of cousins must deal with it to move on with their futures.

Mike Corwin is a Boston police officer. He goes to Vegas for his partner's wedding and ends up meeting Amber Rose. They spend a day together having a lot of fun and on the spur of the moment decided to get married. Mike also ends up winning $150k from a slot machine. But when he wakes up the next morning, his money and his new wife are gone.

Amber hates herself for what she did to Mike, but she's in a boatload of trouble. So she did what she had to do. Of course, Mike isn't going to just forget about it. He has every intention of finding Amber and settling things...that is if Amber doesn't find him first.

I think one of the things I liked best about this book was that the storyline didn't go quite as I expected it would. From reading the back cover, I figured the story would involve Mike going on a search for Amber, her trying to avoid him and not telling him the truth and whatnot. But things actually go kind of the opposite. Amber tracks Mike down, apologizes, tells him mostly the truth and then insinuates herself in his life. She does everything to try to get him to forgive her and give her a chance. I just really like how the story progressed in that sense. And I liked that it was a direction I hadn't expected.

There's also a great use of family and supporting characters. The situation with Mike's father - whose life is pretty much crippled because of his worries over the curse - was interesting and I liked how Phillips used it in the book. There were some good dynamics regarding family interactions, and emotional scars resulting from the curse.

Romance-wise...Amber and Mike have some great chemistry. They can't resist each other in bed, but have a lot of trouble dealing with everything else. I thought Phillips did a great job exploring the various ups and downs of the relationship and how all the outside forces factored in. Each character has to face things they've done and things they've let rule their life before they can truly commit to each other. For me, the romance just worked really well.

I also enjoyed the little smidge of suspense thrown in with some of Amber's past coming up to bite her on the butt. It gave the story a little variety and a little bit of tension. Plus it fit the storyline well.

So overall, this was a really solid contemporary romance and another winner from Carly Phillips. Nothing about it bothered me and I pretty much enjoyed reading it cover to cover. It's sweet and sexy, has great sense of family, and a nice storyline that gives the book a sense of direction instead of being just mushy, mindless fluff. I'm really looking forward to the last book in the trilogy, which was set up in this one. Should be interesting finding out what happens with Jason Corwin.

***4 ‘It’s All About Edward’ Stars***

Is it a bad thing when one of the secondary storylines captures your interest more than the main one? Maybe, maybe not, but that’s kind of what happened with Lucky Streak. For the most part I really liked Mike, the man is all kinds of upstanding, smexy as hell alpha male with a really good heart. Amber was a bit of a mixed bag for me. I admired how dedicated she was to her family and how good her heart truly was, but it took a long time for me to warm up to her. With my feelings towards Amber being all kinds of mixed up, it made it difficult for me to want her and Mike together for the long haul, but then THAT moment hit, which admittedly took a while to happen, and then I was more open to the idea of them together.

That moment actually comes in the form of Edward Corwin, Mike’s father. His character and story was what caught my interest and kept me turning the pages. Even though he wasn’t supposed to be the focus of the story, I felt as if he was the catalyst for a lot of the twists and changes that occurred in the story and I simply enjoyed the hell out of him, even when my heart broke for him.

It’s not everyday where a secondary character takes over a book for me, and I’m a huge fan of well written secondary characters, but it happens and it happened here and I gotta go with my gut.

Wild, sexy, fun and engaging opposites attract romance. This Corwin is in Vegas for his partners wedding and on a hell of a lucky streak and married to what seems like the perfect woman.

Mike Corwin is a tough as nails cop and believes he hit the ultimate jackpot in Vegas when he wakes up with a wad of cash and a sexy new wife. Then the other shoe drops and Seems the family jinx has finally hit him. Hard. Amber turns out to be a con-artist and she disappears with the money. Now Mike's hell-bent on divorce and Amber's on the run… Extremely entertaining summer lounge in the sun read. Looking forward to more luck from this interesting family.

This is a really cute book with alot of fun characters. CP is always fun to read, she writes a quick and entertaining story. I gave this one a four out of five.

Amber is a woman that has had to resort to counting cards in Vegas to win enough money to keep her father in a nursing facility because he has Alzhiemers. But she isn't happy with what she has had to do and wants out. Her partner doesn't want to let go though. When he threatens her a strange man steps in to help her.

Boston Cop Mike Corwin is having a great vacation in Vegas celebrating his friend and partners wedding. He sees a beautiful girl that seems to be having a little trouble with a scumbag, so he steps in to offer his help. But when things are settled he asks her to party with him and his friends. Amber accepts his offer and they spend the rest of the day and night together having a great time. The attraction is strong, on a whim they get married at a chapel in one of the casinos. But on the way back to his room she encorages him to put a ten dollar chip, given to them by the justic of the peace, into a machine. Although Mike is skeptical he goes for it thinking that he isn't the lucky type. But he ends up winning $150,000.00. This can't be happening to him, he isn't the one to win anything. But it must be his lucky day because he has a new wife and the money. But when he wakes up the next morning with Amber gone and the money too, he knew it was just to good to be true, and heads back home to Boston for a trial that he has to testify in.

Amber just knows that Mike is going to be mad but he will understand that she had to take the money to get her Father back from her scumbag ex-partner. He knew just where to hit her the hardest. But she fully intends to find a way to pay Mike back, even if she has to work three jobs. Amber heads back to the hotel but when she gets there Mike has checked out of the hotel and left town.

Mike is tired. He can't beleive that he was suckered by a beautiful woman. He should have known better. But he plans to find out more about her. Before he can do anything he comes home from court to find his front door open. Sneaking upstairs to his bedroom he finds Amber in one of his shirts and nothing else. Okay, that is every man's dream. But he isn't falling for it. He want's some answers about the money and about Amber.

As the story goes on Amber is being chased by one of the men she and the ex-partner conned. She is also falling farther in love with Mike and finding that she is falling for his family too. They are quirky and weird, but she likes them anyway. And Mike comes to realize that Amber has some insights about his Father that he didn't think about before.

While trying to solve the problems that Amber has with the ex-partner and the man that she conned, Mike and amber find that they really do love each other and that their spur of the moment wedding isn't a big mistake. In fact it could be the luckiest thing that has ever happened to them.

FANTASTIC little chic flic romance story! ALL 3 of these books were highly enjoyable. Every character had me LMAO!
However, I will say that Lucky Streak (#2) was absolutely the funniest of them all. Hands down!
PS....I really wish Uncle Edward and Clara had their own story, even if it was a short story in an Anthology because that man had me in stitches....stinky Pete! Bawaaaaaaahahahahaha!

Who says curses are real? The Corwin men that’s who. Many years ago, there was a curse put on any Corwin man that dare to love. Mike is the 2nd of the Corwin men that are effected by the Corwin curse.
Mike is a police officer who is in Vegas for his friend’s wedding. When Mike walks into the lobby of the hotel he see’s Amber who he believes is being harassed by a guy (Mike isn’t sure who the man is). As Mike confronts the pretty lady and the man that’s bothering her, Mike is caught by the beauty that stand before him. He is instantly attracted to Amber and would like more time with her. Once they get rid of the man (Marshall), Mike asks Amber to spend the day with him and his friends.
Amber is a lady down on her luck. She has a photographic memory that she uses to cheat the tables and win money that she needs to pay for her father’s nursing home bills. When Mike comes along to “save her” from her partner in crime Marshall, she is also instantly attracted to Mike. When Mike asks Amber to spend the day with him she finds herself unable to refuse.
Mike and Amber have the best day together and end up in a chapel that evening. But come morning Amber is nowhere to be found.
Will Mike find Amber? If he does will he be able to figure out what is going on and why she took off? You’ll have to read Lucky Streak to find out.

Imagine Drew Barrymore clapping in the Wedding Singer “YAY”! That’s me. I really really loved this story. Mike is in Vegas celebrating his partner’s wedding and saves Amber as she is being harassed. What happens next is a non-stop adventure. His father is a “crazy” recluse because of the Corwin curse. I really felt every emotion reading this book. I felt their connection from the very beginning and could believe them stopping at the Chapel to get married. Loved that you didn’t have to wait too long for the yumminess to begin either. Derek and Gabrielle are here too. Loved how Amber would do anything to take care of her father and even wanted to take care of Mike’s dad. I felt just as heartbroken as Amber at the “roller coaster” comment and didn’t blame her for leaving. Loved that Mike made up for that in Vegas. (PS…I really don’t like to give away parts of the book so if I’m vague I apologize.) Jason made his appearance sadly but I cannot wait to get his story with Lauren. Carly has such great character development. I enjoy the crazy uncles, the story, the “extras” (Clara). Carly makes me feel so much and it is so easy to get lost in her books.

I really enjoyed this book. Mike and Amber meet in Vegas. They get married that night on a whim. Then Ambers past has her running scared. Though they just met, Amber feels connected to Mike. And even though they barely know each other, she wants to give marriage a go. She arrives back in Boston and surprises Mike. She also tells him everything he needs to know about her past. A lot of fun getting to their HEA as characters from book 1 are back and the funny way the curse is looked at by the Corwin men. Definitely entertaining! I'm looking forward to Jason's story next!

I received an ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book.

Even though this book is in a series, it can be read as a standalone. This book jumped right in to the story. I love how it instantly grabbed ahold and had you keep reading. We got an unusual storyline, the idea of a curse, a quickie marriage in Vegas, and a reclusive in law, but still maintained a love story with characters you saw grow and connected with. You fell in love as they did. The love story scenes were as hot as all Phillips' books. There was quite a bit of action and mystery; you never knew what would happen next. So many times the second novel in the series is a let down, but this one was great and left me excited for the next.

This book gives you a two for one. Not only do you get Mike and Amber's story which involves a quickly marriage in Vegas and two gamblers looking to reclaim their debt, but you also get the wacky story of Clara and Edward as they overcome anxiety and depression to rekindle an old relationship. The characters in this story were great and the plot twists and storylines gave new meaning to rollercoaster rides. Overall, a very enjoyable read as the second in the series about dealing with the Corwin curse.

Refreshingly different. This is book 2 in the Corwin Family Curse Series. I really, really enjoyed this book. I couldn't turn the pages fast enough. The characters are flawed and slightly quirky. There were a lot of fun moments, however once again Carly Phillips dealt with the subject of mental illness and Alzheimer's with grace and compassion. I truly loved this book.

Loved the updated version of Lucky Streak. At first glance Amber and Mike seem like oil and water, but as you get deeper into the book you fall for them faster than Amber fell for Mike's father! Amber sees all the little, and not so little details, so she realizes there's more going on with her father-in-law than the Corwin Curse. Mike grew up fearing the curse, will he be able to break free of it? These two are fun, and steamy , and full of adventure.

The second in the Corwin family Trilogy. A solid 3 3/4 stars.
So much better than the first book! This book centers around Mike Corwin, son of Edward, the eccentric brother. Mike became a cop to keep order in his life that he never had with his "out there" father. Mike meets Amber Rose while in Vegas for his partner's wedding. It is instant attraction and it all begins.
Here's what I liked:
I loved the chemistry between the Mike and Amber...there is plenty of work up to it and it works. It is night and day between them and Derek and Gabrielle in the first book. I figured out why I disliked the first book so much while reading this one--on the top of that list was the characters. Derek and Gabrielle made appearances in this book and I found myself wanting them to leave...they annoyed me (mostly Gabrielle--she is way too shallow). Mike and Amber were better characters with more depth. I wanted to like them and I wanted them to be happy--that is a good thing.

The relationship between Mike and Amber was more "real." They went through a "get-to-know-you" phase and worked on finding out if they really could make it work.

The "suspense" part of the book was small, but good--it played well into the storyline. It wasn't over the top and it kept the plot developing.

Also, there was plenty of closure for the family in this one. I felt like the last book flopped at the end. This one not nearly as much (although it did a bit).

Here is what I didn't like:

I did find that that last chapter of the book has me skimming--to much detail about nothing. She got up, took a shower, brushed her hair, made breakfast, blah, blah...how does that add to the story?

The ending is a little anti-climactic, but it was okay. Similar to the first book where it just seems to fizzle a little at the end.

The medical reasoning at the end of the book seemed a little off to me. I think some details were left out--some things were mentioned, but a clear diagnosis wasn't told. It left me a little unsettled.

The neutral:

This book also set up the last book in the series. Jason, the third Corwin cousin, is introduced at great length and his story is set up I'm sure to get excitement for the last book in the series. I'm looking forward to it, but I don't need it the day it is released. Since this book was an improvement on the first, I'm hoping the last will be even better.

Overall opinion:
Liked it! Glad I stuck with the series after I disliked the first one. Carly Phillips really is better than Lucky Charm and Lucky Streak proves it.

This is the second book in Carly Phillips "Lucky Trilogy" and I loved it! As in the first book, the men of the family are concerned about a curse that was levied many years before saying that if you married for love you would lose your love and your fortune. The question is, will the curse rear its ugly head again or will love win?

Mike Corwin is a police officer and he has headed to Las Vegas to attend the wedding of his partner. While in Sin City, Mike rescues Amber Rose from a sticky situation that she's gotten her self into and they end up spending the day together. They have a blast and they also have amazing chemistry. Because of this they end up marrying on a whim. Not only does he end up hitched, he wins a hefty sum of money playing the slots. He goes to bed that night thinking things are great, but then he wakes up the next morning and both his new wife and the money he won are nowhere to be found. Having to get back to Boston for a trial, he is forced to leave without being able to look for his missing wife and money.

Amber did what she had to do by taking her new husband's money. She's been doing what she had to do for a long time, which is why she was in the sticky situation that led her to meeting Mike in the first place. Needing money to get her ailing father back from her scumbag partner that is holding him, she had no choice but to do what she did. She plans to pay every cent back and hopes that in the end Mike will understand, but will he?

When Amber goes after Mike, she can't be surprised by his reaction to seeing her. He doesn't trust her and feels that she is a thief. Mike tries hard not to care for Amber, but everyone in his life can see the impact she's made and they tell him as much. He still resists, but when it turns out that Amber is threatened, can Mike really turn his back on her and say that their marriage was a huge mistake?

This was a light read with a lot of fighting attraction. It's clear these two people care about one another, but can they get past all of the other "stuff" to be able to make it work. Another great offering by Carly Philips!

Lucky Streak is the 2nd of the Lucky Trilogy and is a great book for mindless romantic reading. Sex starting on page 48.

Mike Corwin, a Boston Police Detective and Corwin cousin, goes to Las Vegas for his partner's wedding and saves Amber Rose from being accosted by a guy she claims is her ex-partner. Amber is a gorgeous woman and the electricity is immediate. Mike invites her along for the day and at the end of the day, marries her even though he knows very little about her. What Happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas. Mike can only wish.

The bad news is Amber wants out of her deal with the ex-partner, a sleaze named Marshal, even if it means that her dad has to go to a less desirable nursing home. Marshal isn't going to let her go and when she marries Mike and he hits is big on the slots, Marshal kidnaps the dad and forces Amber to betray Mike.

Because of the Corwin Curse, Mike is happy with his hot, sexy new wife, he doesn't love her, until he wakes up and finds her gone with his money

Another fun, sexy and great read in the Lucky Series by Carly Phillips!

This time we get Mike's story. In typical Vegas fashion, he meets Amber, parties hard and they wind up married. But when he wakes in the morning....she's gone with the $150,000 that he won. The "curse" has struck again. Amber isn't a bad person. Just a desperate one trying to keep her head above water and her father in a nursing home that costs more than she has. After taking his money, Amber simply can't take the guilt she feels, so she tracks Mike down and comes clean about it all. She isn't taking no for an answer when she tries to incorporate herself into her husbands life. And thank goodness she didn't. These two are electric!!! Their chemistry under the sheets and out of them is hot. They are a great match! One more couple to break the Corwin Curse!!

Sexy, fun, full of great characters and family that make you fall deeper in love with this series. Great read!

Happy reading! :)

Sorry I'm just not buying it. The only thing that I thought was realistic was Edwards illness and even then that's not the diagnosis that I think he should have been given. None of the characters felt true to life at all, it was more a movie writing of a life than actual life. Amber could have been anybody, all the little stuff the fact that she was raised in Vegas by a con man and has a photographic memory was mentioned but not shown. She could have shown them the "real" Vegas whatever that is; dropped lingo from games, cons and such; or did something really cool with her memory but nope didn't happen. Mike was so generic, she didn't even give him a favorite breakfast cereal. King Bob or Marshall could have been scary or interesting but they were sketches.

Mike wins big in Vegas. He gets drunk, marries Amber and wakes up the next morning, no wife and no cash be found
The blurb is misleading, it's not a twist of fate that brings them back together, Amber goes back to Mike's house in Boston to give him the other half of his winnings. She used half to help out her Dad. I liked Mike, hes a sexy cop !

I really like this book and I've read it and the other two books in the trilogy 3 times but this time as I was reading it I noticed 4 or 5 grammatical errors. I would have liked the book even better if an editor had caught the errors. All in all this trilogy is great and Carly Phillips has been one of my favorite authors since I was about 14

I enjoyed this continuation of the Cowin Curse series. Amber Rose is a very different heroine dealing with some unique inlaws in wonderfully wacky ways. Who ever would have thought of using a descented skunk as a weapon? Romantic and amusing. I look forward to the next book.

Lucky Streak is book 2 in the Lucky Series and is about Mike and Amber. Mike is a Corwin man, but doesn't really believe in the curse that has followed all Corwin men for hundreds of years. Besides, he doesn't believe in love, either. Mike is a Boston cop and has come to Vegas to celebrate his partner's wedding. In the midst of celebrating, he sees a woman in trouble and goes to rescue her.

The woman is Amber, born and raised in Vegas. She has a photographic memory and since her showgirl mother died in childbirth, she was raised by her father, who was a great con-man in his day, but has fallen to the evils of Alzheimer's. Amber was a great concierge when she was in Beverly Hills, but when her father became ill, she had to go back to Vegas to care for him. The medical bills became too much and she had to resort to contacting Marshall, a con-artist she knew would help her raise the money she needed. But she doesn't want to be in that life anymore, so when she tells Marshall she's done, he grabs her...and that's when Mike steps in.

Once Mike gets Amber away from Marshall, they both feel an instant attraction they don't want to let go, so they spend the rest of the day together, celebrating with Mike's friends, and then on their own, with Amber as their tourguide to Vegas. But Amber knows that Marshall won't let her go so easily and when she spots one of his guys following them, she tries to lose them by slipping into a room. That room turns out to be a wedding chapel, and on a whim, they agree to get married. On the way back to Mike's room, they find a token for the casino at his hotel. At Amber's insistence, Mike picks out a machine...and wins $150,000! Mike locks the cash in his room safe and they...consummate the marriage. When Mike wakes up the next morning, he finds Amber - and the cash - gone.

What follows is a great tale of love, family, friends, curses, and a bit of intrigue. I really loved how both Mike and Amber thought about their feelings for each other and realized they both felt the connection between them from the moment they met, but fought their feelings because how could it be real or lasting...it hit on a personal level for me.

This book is the second in the Lucky trilogy. Mike, the hero, is Derek's (from book one) cousin. As a Corwin man, he is also cursed to lose his love and fortune. He lives in Boston, where he works as a detective for the police department. At the opening he is in Las Vegas celebrating his partner's destination wedding.

Amber is a beautiful, charismatic and intelligent woman with a photographic memory. For years she used those skills to be one of the best in the business, as a major hotel concierge in Beverly Hills. Her father, who raised her alone, was a professional gambler with a gift for card counting. Amber learned all his tricks growing up. When he developed sudden onset Alzheimer's, Amber had to quit her job and help care for him. When he needed to move to a nursing home that she could not afford, she took up gambling with a partner named Marshall. At the opening of the book, she is trying to break up the partnership and work legitimately.
Mike steps in when Marshall is man-handling Amber in public when she tells him she is dissolving their partnership. Amber winds up joining the wedding party for a day of drinks and celebrating. Having grown up in Vegas, she shows them all the best spots. When the party breaks up, Amber and Mike continue alone. At the end of the night, they stumble into a small wedding chapel in Circus, Circus, and get married. With a token given to all the wedding party of his partner, Mike also wins big on the slots. After a hot honeymoon night, reality and trouble set in. There are extreme circumstances that make their marriage very hard to work out. Enjoy the family reaction, them trying to resolve their issues and the ongoing chemistry, that won't be denied, even when nothing else seems to be working out.

*An advance reading copy was provided to me in exchange for an honest review. *

Book #2 in the Lucky Trilogy is about Mike Corwin. Mike is a Boston Police Officer and ignores the curse that seems to reign on the males of the Corwin Family. Legend says that every Corwin Male who marries for love, will not only lose his wife, but his fortune, too. Mike goes to Vegas with some of his cop friends for a wild weekend. He ends up $150,000 richer and married to a beautiful stranger he met one night, named Amber Lee. Mike feels like everything is going his way. But when he wakes up the next morning, he finds not only Amber is gone, but she took the money he won with her. That Corwin Curse is at it again!

Amber Lee’s mother died at her birth and her father was a gambler. Now fast forward a number of years to find out that Amber’s dad has Alzheimer’s. Amber had left Vegas and made someone of herself in Los Angeles. She comes home to take care of him and finds herself ‘working’ with an old ‘friend’ of her dad’s to make enough money to keep her dad safe. When Mike meets Amber, she had just told her partner that she was done with their way of life.

Being forced by her partner for one last score, Amber ‘borrows’ Mike’s winnings, telling herself that she’ll pay him back every cent. Mike goes home to Boston, wanting to get a quickie divorce. Amber shows up on his doorstep, looking for forgiveness, as well as a place to hide where she won’t be found. As Mike learns what’s driven her choices, can he decide that Amber’s the right one for him? I guess what happens in Vegas, doesn’t always stay in Vegas.

Lucky Streak by Carly Phillips is a hot sensational read. It has taken me hostage and I enjoyed every moment of it. The pages were filled with steam, humor, and an intense air like no other book. I felt the raw chemistry between Amber and Mike since the moment he rescued her. Their love hit them hard and fast. But neither of them could deny what they were feeling. However, that happy moment was short lived due to a new enemy. One that has been targeting Amber since she declined being with him. He had her followed and they money that she and Mike won was stolen. Mike woke up thinking the worst. Amber left. And so was his portion of their money. He went from feeling like they could make anything work to realizing nothing lasts, especially in his family.

Carly Phillips brought the sparkly life of Las Vegas to life. I felt the thrill and risks of that kind of high living. Only more people tend to lose out than win. Detective Mike is a good man not intending to fall in love. His family has a 'curse'. To beat it, he stays single. But with Amber he wants a life with her. She has the power of making him laugh and feel good. Amber has a dad with Alzheimer's disease. She went into the con artist life to keep her dad in the nice home. However, she wants out of the life. Yet her partner won't let her. Danger, risks, and love are mixed into a drool worthy read. Lucky Streak is the most charming romance I've read.

I received this copy from the publisher. This is my voluntary review.

Con artist Amber Lee needs a lot of money for her Alzheimer’s-stricken father’s care but has enough saved up to find another way. Amber's declaration that she's finished doesn't go down well with her partner in crime Marshall Banks. Police detective Mike Corwin is in Vegas for his partner's wedding when he rescues a beautiful woman being manhandled and invites her to join him and the wedding party for a fun night out. On an impulse, Mike marries Amber after they wander into a wedding chapel by accident. Mike wakes up the next day to a pounding headache to find his wife is missing and so is the $150,000 he'd won playing the slot machine. Mike thought he'd outsmarted the Corwin curse, any Corwin male who falls in love will be destined to lose his love and his fortune, but he'd felt something for Amber so the curse must have kicked in. Amber had been forced to steal the $150,000 from her sexy husband to ransom her father from Marshall and after working another con with Marshall and gets $75,000 for her trouble. Amber goes in search of Mike to pay him back half his winnings and to ask him for forgiveness but Mike only wants a divorce. Will Amber be able to convince Mike to forgive her?

Lucky Streak is fun, exciting and steamy. Carly Phillips has paired an entertaining story with interesting characters for an enjoyable read. I highly recommend this book.

Ahh... The Salem Witch Trials, where witches were burned at the stake and family curses begun. At least, that is the belief of the Corwin men. It seems like they have no luck due to the curse...either in love or in money. Is it really the curse, though, or is it simply a case of bad luck...over and over and over again?

Mike, a detective with the Boston Police Department, is in Vegas for his partners wedding. Amber, a former con artist with a photographic memory turned hotel concierge, turned back into a con artist. She really, really wants to go back to being a concierge. But someone has to take care of her father who has Alzheimer's and her salary just wasn't cutting it. She decides to partner up with her father's former partner, Marshall. Amber meets Mike when her Marshall is manhandling her following her refusal to do another job with him. He steps in and saves the day... They spend the evening together and guess what...What happens in Vegas does not stay in Vegas. After a marriage overnight and then a jackpot of $100,000, Marshall catches up with Amber...He has hidden her father away and will only release him when she does this last job for him... And Mike thinks the curse has hit his family again, a double whammy this time.

This is a great suspense book and has all the twists and turns you would expect, and more!! I ADORE Carly Phillips books and I am sure you will as well!

The Lucky Series is about the Corwin curse. All Corwin men who fall in love will be destined to lose his love and fortune … No Corwin has walked away unscathed.

Lucky Streak is the 2nd book in the Series and brings us Detective Michael Corwin. Mike is Derek's cousin and he's in Los Vegas for his partners wedding.

Amber Lee was a popular concierge in LA because of her photographic memory until her father became ill. She returns to Los Vegas to take care of him, and hooks up with her father's protégé Marshal to pay for her father's care in the facility for Alzheimer patients. Amber decides it's time to go straight, and tells Marshall that she's done helping him con people out of their money by counting cards. Mike see's Marshall manhandling Amber and steps in to diffuse the situation, and then invites Amber to join in the wedding party events. They go out, have an amazing day together and then get married. Mike has a $10 token for the slot machine from the wedding and drops it in and wins BIG! Mike and Amber have an amazing wedding night. Amber is gone when he gets up, and so is the money.

Why did Amber leave with the money? Do Amber and Mike re-unite? Does what happened in Vegas in stay in Vegas? So many questions that will be answered as Amber and Mike's story takes you on a roller-coaster ride.

I read this series when it was first released, and I enjoyed revisiting it. I volunteered to review an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
