I though I understood this story then the epilogue completely confused the fuck out of me!! And here I sit still pondering WTF it all meant. Was it all a dream? Was it the reenactment of a play? Was the final scene someone’s personal experience in hell? Just seriously WTFF?!
Let me jump back a minute and try to explain myself. We’re introduced to an 18yo Mary Mole who’s got some naughty proclivities - namely daydreaming about her Art teacher while wearing a nuns habit backstage in her schools auditorium and impaling herself with a candle.
Then one seemingly ill-fated afternoon Mary Mole is caught wet handed by her Art teacher after she sneakily participated in his afternoon romp, with her Drama teacher, from the safety of her basket. This spawns an avalanche of devious deeds including a smut site on the dark web.
But my true confusions arise once we’re introduced to Pops, the man from the Last Dance. His request is unique and final. How does one come out alive from the things he’s depicted as doing? I seriously need to know more. Am I missing a book that links these together? Ugh 😩 I’m so frustrated right now!!

This is the very first book that I've read of James Crow and it was an eye-popping read. It was dark, twisted, kinky and unexpected. That ending was simply mind-blowing. I was constantly trying to figure out where the storyline was leading and I didn't have a single clue about it. This book kept me edge throughout its entirety. And that's what I liked about it.
"A curiosity, yes. Mary Mole, the girl in the corner with her head in books. The girl who's never had any trouble. Who keeps the library spick and span and who helps out at every school play. Such a delightful curiosity. I suspect there's a lot going on in there. A wicked imagination."
Talking about the characters, I didn't really connect with them. Especially Mr. Hardy. There wasn't really much insight about his character. Why he is the way he is and all that. But apart from that, the pace of the story was really good. I would definitely read this author again.

James crow does it again..just when you thought you knew where the story is headed, he amps up the action, throws so many twists and turns youre left dizzy, and leaves you completely mindfuxked!
This story started off with mousy loner Mary Malone, who spends most of her time in a quiet corner of the library harboring a dirty little secret unbeknownst to her peers and teachers. A giant wicker basket. A candle. And a wildly naughty imagination, Mary takes you on a wild ride of self discovery in the kinkest of ways.

What a read!!!
This was a naughty book with a naughty twist! What a crazy ride and left me with questions. Intuition is a real thing and should be acted upon. Naughty, Naughty girl. It was a great read . I would suggest this to anyone who likes a dark read. Thanks James!!!!!

Not my favorite book, I would not recommend. I do love the authors other books but this one just did nothing for me. Maybe it’s just me, but I had to read it because I do like the author.

This was the worse book ever. You read the back of the book and you think that is going to be about a girl meeting someone or is wanting to be with someone and either she’s to shy or not experience enough. That she meets someone and she’s not going to be alone anymore.
But no!!!! When you start the story you can imagine that this high school girl that is a loner and is a small person will never be with anyone because of the way she looks. Then she goes to the theater assembly hall and pretend she is in an reactment and she crawls in this wicker basket and screws herself with a candle, cause she has a crush on her art teacher Mr. Harvey Hardy. Then her other teacher Miss Penny Jackson come in with him and they screw while she’s in the basket watching.
And it goes down hill from there. This girl Mary keeps going back to the back stage room pretending to be with this teacher and he come eventually and catchers her and calls her out of the basket and she is enticed to burn down the Library and they go on this wild sex adventure cause he’s leaving the school and she graduated. It’s one long sex adventure after another. This 18 yr old small person girl Mary and her art teacher Mr. Hardy. Soon after Penny the other teacher joins them.
Sells Mary in all different types of sex movies on the dark web for bitcoins. Then they get more adventurous and sells Mary Mole to some guy that wants to do kinky things that he screen in one of their screens that Mary and Harvey did and then he comes and try to choke Mary while screwing her and Harvey kills him. Their drinking doing drugs and all kind of stupid sex things. But the last Man they sell Mary to from the dark web Name Pops is the worse and that’s when Harvey gets shot by Pops and Penny gets tasered and shot Mary supposedly get her breast cut off and it fades to gray... then the freaking whole sex-a-paid was only Penny dreaming up all this freaky and kinky shit while she was the one in the Basket???!! It was crazy... I was soooo!! Out done... hated the book for sure... 🤬🤬sorry James Crow but worse book ever!! Hate I wasted my money on it.

What the fu*k did I just read? It is so messed up, and it should have trigger warnings for people. It was like one rape after another, not what I expected at all. I thought it was going to be about a girl who hides in a basket and watches people, does her thing, and eventually this guy comes along and helps her. Yeah, not what happened. It is a three person situation, two older adults, one is a male teacher, I think the female is a teacher. They go on this fucked up “adventure” that has natural born killers/Bonny and Clyde feel to it with child molesters and the like thrown in. Only to find out in the end that the girl in the basket it the female teacher (the older woman), and it was all a fantasy that she imagined herself and the young girl going through it all. Side question..why would the male teacher and female student be rehearsing a play alone together with her watching? I feel like I missed something there, but considering I skimmed a lot of this book and just forced myself to see what made this ending so “great” I’m not surprised I don’t get it.

The story of the quiet introvert Mary Mole is one wild and crazy tale. But it's always the quiet ones that shock us the most. This book is full of twists and turns and OMG moments, and in true James Crow fashion, kinky and filthy fuckery. The story is both panty melting and thought provoking.
Just when I think I've seen it all from Mr.Crow he drops my jaw and wows me with another fantastical tale. I was enthralled by the story of Miss Mary Mole from start to finish and this is another great five star read to add to Crow's repertoire. #2019MustRead

A very dark but delectable read ...
The Girl in The Basket is such a stunningly dark and twisted book. It takes you to places that you never in your wildest dreams would expect to enjoy let alone want more of. A unique and spellbinding story that pushed all of my boundaries and threw me into an intriguing world of alternative kink. I highly recommend you read this book.

What a ride
This book will suck you in before you realize it. Mr. Crow pulls you in and doesn't let go until the end. Another awesome kinky read by the amazing James Crow. I know some will be upset that my review gives nothing away but you have to read it for yourself. ENJOY THE RIDE!!!

I really enjoyed this book, lost interest a little in the middle but the ending made me look back an enjoy the story more. I like the way Mr. Crow writes and my imagination put together. Basically a loner school girl coming to age with a bang, nice twist is always a good ending especially when you think one thing and completely wrong.

Totally Mind blowing !!
Wow is all can say. James Crow blew me away again. I couldn't put this book down. Harvey, Penny and Mary take us on a crazy and insanely dirty ride. And the ending had me holding my breath , it was so awesome !!

My first book by James Crow
