We’ve stumbled into a situation I’m not sure we’ll find our way out of. We’ve done something that may result in the end of our race across the country. Our race to safety.

But safety is an elusive dream. I can’t see it or touch it. I’m not sure it exists. But what else are we to do? What else is there to reach for? The ravaged have taken over our home and threatened our survival. All we can do is run, and search, and pray we find a place to rest our heads.

But we’re nowhere near finding it. If it’s not the ravaged, it’s other threats that keep us from finding anything to hold onto.

Psychos, biters, misguided intentions. Our own demons mocking us. We’re being hunted. Chased from all directions. All we can do is continue this never-ending race for survival and hope nothing catches our tiring strides.

But we’re tripping over every obstacle and barreling into every wrong decision.

Because this isn’t the end, but it feels like we’ve already lost.

*This story ends in a cliffhanger*

*3.5* I love this series but had a problem with a story line. I seriously doubt a highly disturbed man would have the ability to do what he did in this story. Can you really herd zombies like cattle? Did I really just write that question?

Low and Jay are still going strong.

He was safety to me. He was comfort and happiness and so very important to me. I was lucky. We were both lucky. In a world where everyone lost what mattered most to them so very easily, we had each other, and that was more than what most had.

ღ𝐇𝐔𝐍𝐓𝐄𝐃 ღ Is the third book within the (Defy the Ravaged) series by new to me author E.M. Raegan. This book picks up exactly where (willow) the previous one ended. HERO: Jason HEROINE: Willow. Ends in a cliffy.

After inhaling the previous book, I took off to bed early and jumped back into this scary new world the author has created.

Each situation this group of misfits finds themselves in, it gets more serious, more life threatening, finding a safe haven to keep them all safe seems elusive.

And throughout they are being stalked, hunted, followed from place to place, traps set up along the way to ensnare them.

Holy shit! God this book put an extra beat in my heart, nearing the ending, trying to race through the pages to see what was going to happen, begging the dogs would come through unscathed, falling down another cliffy, bonus knowing that the next is available has me breathing easier.

This series definitely sunk its claws into me! I’ve never read so fast in my life!

So this is the third book and though I did enjoy this it was rather short in length and didn’t really progress much from the last one.
Also, I do think the Finn story arc is a tad far-fetched in regard to him following them halfway across the country.
A-I just can’t see it and how it would be possible for him to be doing all this him being one person and all.
B- We are in the middle of a zombie apocalypse I think most people would just be trying to stay alive not acting all stalker psycho and all.
But anyway Fin is still hot on their tails and obsessed with Jay's girl and of course, it’s poor Willow fault again give the girl a bloody break sigh.
So after being run out of town by the zombies, the group are again on the road.
But caught in a storm and a standoff cause the group to scatter with consequences that find Willow stranded alone in the middle of a horde, man Jay is gonna be so pissed.
Though this one wasn’t quite as enjoyable as it’s predecessors probably because of the short length.
It was still a solid read and I’m looking forward to concluding this series with the final book.

Hunted (Defy the Ravaged) book 3 finds the group needing to leave Rowans people but it's still not safe to travel with Lexi. As they wait danger lurks all around them and Willow suspects it's her personal psychotic stalker. Hunted moves along at a fast pace like the first two books and I find myself on edge for most of the time but I wish they were longer. I would have preferred Novellas than these Serials, which has a lot to do with how good they are. This one ends with another cliffhanger and I fear for everyone around Jay because nobody is going to be safe when he wakes up.

Better than the others but still ridiculous. The club apparently still doesn't care for the h Willow because they all left her behind when attacked by another group of people. Jay was injured and unconscious so he had no say. I was surprised at Billy her bff though. Poor Willow being chased by a horde plus her stalker. It's all so ridiculous and chaotic, but I cannot look away 😅😬. And just to mention these have to be read in order.

Intense

I think this was my least fav. There was nothing resolved. I felt like she just wanted to leave a cliffhanger. Where was the hunt? They were all definitely being hunted by 2 different parties.

I have so many mixed feelings about this book and series because it has so many identities. First, it is a post-apocalyptic zombie tale; second, it is a biker romance; third, it is a stalker, mystery, and thriller. It is a lot! I feel like I am reading Reagan’s work amid an ADD episode. There is just too much going on, and it does not flow seamlessly. What is the stories focus? The bikers? The zombies? The psycho stalker?

I thought we were done with the stalker in the last book, but no, here he comes again, and to be honest, it just ruins the story for me. Enough is going on trying to survive the apocalypse on a motorcycle of all things (which seems silly to me). Then let’s throw in a crazy stalker who can corral zombies perfectly and strategically to do his stalking for him — eye roll.

I don’t hate this story or Willow, however her damsel in distress act one second, then I’m a badass next is getting annoying. I honestly don’t understand her appeal for Jay. I am feeling kind of meh about it right now, but it ended on such a cliffhanger I want to know what comes next.

I am giving Hunted (Defy the Ravaged Book 3) Three Boundless Stars.

While Hunted was a very enjoyable read I am sad to say that I wasn’t as into it as I was with the first two books in the series. It had what I desire in books for sure; drama, romance, suspense and good characterization. However, it felt like it all was over with a blink of an eye with little progression from where we left of in Thrive.

All books in this series has been rather short, but it hasn’t been as obvious as now. Even if Willow and Thrive were quick reads they had a lot happening in those few pages, making them feel like full length installments. Hunted however, well, I didn’t feel like anything really happened or progressed until the end of the book. Sure, they had some trouble with the ravaged and the locals in town, as well as a certain psychopath, but this was handled so rushingly that it didn’t give much impact for me in the story. It was mostly just the twist with said psychopath that had a bit more depth and added a bit more complications hooking me to the plot.

The dynamic of the characters and the tension between a few was also dampened in Hunted compared to the previous books. It was still there of course, but once again rushed through. There was also a lot of name dropping making it difficult to follow who was who in the group and it didn’t seem necessary since the names dropped weren’t even of consequence to the story. I understand that it is not easy writing the story about such a large group and involving everyone. That’s the thing tough, I am really only interested in the more involved characters; Willow, Jay, Daliha, Billy, Ren, Paulie and a few others. There really is no need to try to mention or describe any more characters that isn’t going to have a bigger part since it then only becomes messy and confusing.

That’s not to say that Hunted was messy in any way. It was mostly just the name dropping that made it confusing. Overall it was built up very well with good twists, tension, drama and sizzling moments between Jay and Willow along the way. I had just wished for more depth and more complexity, that’s all. And I do feel that Hunted is deserving of four stars at least, especially with such an ending to the book. I can’t wait to see how Willow will find her way out of her conundrum, how Jay will react and if Paulie’s mistrust/dislike of Willow will finally bubble over.

While I enjoyed this addition to the series, I was surprised when it ended at around 88%. And it felt like we didn’t get much but them riding around, moving from location to location. I was really hoping for...well, more. After loving the first two, this one just didn’t rank as high for me with its lack of story and depth. Here’s to hoping the final book brings more!! 4 Stars.

Spicy, sad and tired of zombies yet??

Not all can make during the zombie apocalypse. But its nice to see that Willow is wanting to take action now. Again, this series has no chill. Still full steam ahead.

Finn is still...around... speaking of no chill, this guy can't get the hint.

I think the hardship explored in this novella was a bit repetitive and far from the essential premise. However, the bond between different characters grew stronger. And now it's like a cherished family. Don't want anyone to die.

Ok so thoughts....

Throughout the whole series I have not liked how controlling Jay has been and this book really has made me start to not like him.

Fin. . . Really? Still? Come on... it’s seriously unbelievable. I know, I know. We are reading zombie fiction here, the whole premise is unbelievable but... this Fin thing takes me out of the story and think REALLY?! Again? What is it about our snowflake here? So yeah.... This Fin storyline is bringing the series down for me.

Length. Seriously? 80 some odd pages?! Wtf?! Why are they so short. Just friggin’ combine them all into one book. This is ridiculous!

Secondary characters... they seem to be an after thought. No depth and they add nothing to the story except for ways to advance the Willow or Jay’s needs. That’s not the right word. But Willow wanting to go after Fin. It didn’t advance until Billy spoke up.

Dahlia and Liam... how is dahlia making this? The woman is over 80 w a cane and a hurt foot! More details. Liam is an after thought and it’s sad.

Ren’s chapter. What in the world was this?! Where did this come from? Suddenly there is another voice near the end of 3rd book? Why? Makes no sense.

I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with this book. For one, the writing seemed a bit different but for the most part it was still good. The biggest issue I had was the way Jay treated Willow. Actually how all the club treat everyone in general and didn't include them in any plans but the Jay thing was still my biggest issue. It's like he doesn't trust her or he's keeping her at arms length, I don't know which but it seems to be becoming more and more clear that she's just his side piece and I am beginning to doubt any of his "feelings" for her that aren't strictly sexual. Point in fact, he just wakes her up, carries her out and fucks her. Like fuck man, she was asleep after a very stressful night but you needed to get your dick wet. And then he has the nerve to tell her that they do stuff together and that she can't keep stuff from him . Like, Hello? That's rich coming from him when he doesn't include her in anything the club does or open up at all for that matter.

And the fact that she is basically nothing to the club too is... heart breaking. Even less than nothing and once again, it was proven in the last bit of the book when it somehow changes to Ren's point of view. Honestly the only guys I actually like from the MC are Monty and Goon; Monty because he actually seems to care about Willow and Goon because he seems like the strong, silent type who will do anything for his daughter. Also, Billy needs to grow a pair and stand up for his friend instead of just doing whatever the club wants him too.

I don't know, I was soo amped up after the last book and was really into it and this one just wasn't the same, didn't have that same feel to it. Don't get me wrong, it was still a good book but felt off.

Book 3 in the series continues the story of Jason and Willow, and overall, I still really enjoyed it—even if it had a few moments that felt a little unrealistic.

The biggest thing for me was the whole psycho stalker storyline. In the middle of a full-blown zombie apocalypse, it felt a bit over the top and slightly out of place. With everything else already going on, adding that layer made it feel a little less believable. It didn’t ruin the story, but it definitely stood out compared to the more grounded survival elements from the earlier books.

That being said, what I did love was how Jason and Willow continue to grow together. At this point, they’re really starting to feel like a ready-made family, and I enjoyed seeing that dynamic develop. Willow, as usual, keeps “collecting” kids along the way, and somehow it just works. It adds a lot of heart to the story and shows how much she cares, even in such a harsh world.

And Jason? He continues to be a total trooper. No matter what’s thrown at them—zombies, danger, or chaos—he’s right there, supporting Willow and standing by her side. What stood out to me the most is how consistent he is with showing his love and devotion. He doesn’t just say it—he proves it over and over again through his actions.

Overall, Book 3 was still a good read. Even though the stalker plotline felt a bit unrealistic, the strength of the characters and their growing family made up for it. I’m still fully invested in Jason and Willow and where their story goes next.

Oh holy grail of cliffies!!!! Another spectacular installment of a frenetic zombie apocalypse tale with a motorcycle club flare. In this third book of the series, we see the motorcycle group still struggling to survive all that is thrown at them- a crazed man leading a town of people who are in denial, a psychopath who wont leave them behind and tons and tons of zombies. The dynamics within the MC are strained, with their leader Paulie constantly facing disagreements from his members. The group has felt losses and they are driven to be more protective of their group. An old nemesis starts to torment them again but before they can even handle that threat, it seems the elements are also lining up against. And of course, the ravaged aka zombies are an always-present danger. Jay and Willow don’t have much sexy time but they have a defining moment where Jay exerts his Alpha dominance and Willow accepts his nature. However it seems Willow will have to face dangers pretty soon and she just might not have Jay around…. we’ll see how this epic story unravels!

Uuhh the action and suspense is definitely great in this series, the cliffhanger at the end of this book was super.

My problem with this series is the romance. Willow and Ray have had like 5 conversations over the three books. It is said that they are in love but I just don't believe it. They are more like "friends"(or acquaintances) with benefits than two people in love. It feels like Jay is just there for the sex scenes, he has no personality or depth as a love interest. Honestly liked these books more when Jay wasn't in the picture. I really liked reading about Willow's connection with Blue and Liam.

I like the moto club aspect of these books, the men in that club (except Monty) are all dumb as hell. The fact that those grown-ass men had so much hatred toward Low is so fucking stupid.

And in the last book when Jay was like "sorry I judged you without knowing anything about you but you have to forgive me and love me now"- ugh he annoyed me so much in the second book.

I hope Willow gets more badass moments in the final book of the series.

Nothing much happened in this novella? It felt like so much of this could have been cut/condensed into the next book for a 3-novella series. They just moved around from place to place and talked a lot. Willow seems a little dumb in this book - she thinks she can take on a stalker and a horde of zombies all on her own? Jay continues to be annoying and underdeveloped. He is an Alpha. That is all. Why do these two love each other again? The major villain of this series is eyeroll-worthy. How is he drawing the zombies towards him and managing to go unbitten? Doesn't make sense. Honestly, a series about surviving the zombie apocalypse doesn't need a drawn out plot where a human is the big villain. One book and we could have been done with the stalker. The zombies are the much scarier villains and why I am sticking with this series. I genuinely don't know how our characters are going to survive with an HEA and a satisfactory end to the series.

The Defy the Ravaged series keeps getting better and better. I could not put this book down. It is action packed from beginning to end I love that Willow is really starting to come into her own. The chemistry between her and Jay is off the charts hot!

Just finished the Defy the Ravaged series by E.M. Raegan whom is fast becoming one of my favorite authors. At this point I'd read anything she wrote without even reading the blurp (except to check for cliff hangers...I usually wait for an entire series to be complete before reading). Amazing world building, strong characters, and interesting story lines can be found in all her books. And she makes her books available on kindle unlimited which I find very generous for a writer of her caliber. I highly recommend this and her Galactic Order series.

I've read all three of these books in just a few hours. This book is just as good if not better than the first two. I can't wait until March. I need to read that last book! These books have to be read in order. So if you're checking out this review to decide if you want to read them or not you have to read the first two. This is zombie apocalypse, crazy psycho stalker, uninformed townspeople, holy rollers, etc... It starts from the word go.

Just finished reading "HUNTED #3" This outstanding series continues to entertain, enthrall, thrill, and draw me into it's captivating plot!!! Each book has ended in a cliffhanger, ending in an unresolved and sudden manner creating shock or suspense for "us" readers. Now, I begin reading "DEFEND #4". I can't wait to see what happens to Willow and Jason and the other characters in this zombie apocalypse!!!
