Goldheart: A Retelling of Rumpelstiltskin

Pirouette: A Retelling of The Twelve Dancing Princesses
Princess Ilani has been forgotten by her people—the price for her forbidden magic. But when her twelve sisters are trapped by a deception that threatens to tear their kingdom apart, she must come out of hiding and join forces with a charming foreigner, who may not be telling the whole truth about his motives for choosing to help.

The Andari Chronicles is a series of interconnected fairy tale retellings that sparkle with wit, intrigue, romance and suspense.

Kenley Davidson is a romantic fantasy author and unrepentant caffeine addict who believes in the power of storytelling and loves nothing more than a good book hangover. Her books include romantasy, urban fantasy, fairy-tale retellings, and sci fi, but no matter the genre, she writes stories of hope and redemption with characters you can root for, heart-pounding romance without the spice, and happy endings that might just make you cry.

Her favorite things (besides books) are coffee, k-dramas, cats, and playing cozy video games. And also scones.

Kenley currently lives in Oklahoma, where she cares for a menagerie of misfit house plants while waiting for her adult children to occasionally pop in for laundry and a home-cooked meal.

Quite surprised!

After I read the first one and loved the story I thought there was no way the second would be as good. I was wrong. Then I thought 2 out of 3 would be reason enough to read the third even if it was not good. Well, it was also just as good as the first two.

I felt the stories were all unique and the characters were different from each other. None of the three books were just a repeat of the others. There were hard choices to be made in each book and various characters didn't always choose the best ones. Characters grew and changed in the book.

So, I definitely recommend this book if you enjoy creative retelling of fairytales.

Original fairytale retellings

I admit it I'm a sucker for this kind of story. This set is an original twist of three tales. I suspect Me Davidson is not done with these, she still needs to bring her villain to justice and what a villainous man he is. But she very neatly improved the lives of people in 2 countries between the 3 tales & worked in romance in a way that even I could enjoy. I hope to see her bring her villain to account & make him see the error of his ways though.

I really enjoyed these books. The characters are well rounded in their strengths and weaknesses. The world is beautifully laid out. I'm only going 4 stars because sometimes the beginning is slow as she sets up everyone and their environments. Also, there is some language to be aware of if you are used to clean fairy tale re-imaginings. All in all I enjoyed the interconnected stories that also work on their own, and I look forward to reading the next box set.

What a fantastic retelling!

Oh my eyes! Never have I read a book, let alone 3, that have told classic fairytales sooo wonderfully! I struggled to put this ebook to sleep (and myself with it)!
Onward to book 4.
Highly recommend this series to anyone who loves the classics. Start at the beginning and wait to fall in love 😜

Wonderful

A masterful reselling of the story with a complete twist. Instead, the princesses refuse to dance! How fun and intriguing this tale of Andar. I'm disappointed that I can't quite figure out how to retrieve the free novella promised however.

A Different Twist

This set surprised me in that the stories are wrapped around a kernel of the classic fairytales, but go off in unexpected directions. I liked that the series goes on with characters from the first book over time.

Although I am not generally a person that enjoys fairy tale retellings, this author does such a great job at characterization that I enjoyed every story. I really look forward to her future publications.

Excellent retellings

I liked all her retellings, particularly the first two with no magic. The twists on the Twelve Dancing Princesses were clever.

My favorite Cinderella retelling. Which may be why several of the others don't quite live up to it. Still worth reading - and I'm waiting for more details about the queen and her history...
