Supernaturals are real, and seventeen-year-old Callie is the strongest of them all. As a Spirit Witch, she is a member of an ancient sect of witches that were wiped out millennia ago. She not only has control over the four elements, but also life and death itself, and she’s been tasked with maintaining balance within the mortal realm. No pressure.

At least her magic is finally unbound, so life should get easier and have a lot less exploding trees. Except, nothing is ever easy for Callie. Her magic wasn’t the only thing unbound. It’s getting harder to stay “just friends” with the guys—especially since they all seem interested in tasting her chapstick. Not to mention Felix, her incorporeal best friend, decided to reject his door to the afterlife. This means he either blinks out of existence or Callie figures out how to use her powers to break the one natural law all supernaturals can agree on:

The dead need to stay dead.

In this paranormal reverse harem, join Callie on her journey as she discovers who she is, where she fits, what matters most, and which rules are meant to be broken in this world of things that go bump in the night.

Buddy Read with some cakeeaters, Daisy, Jess and Che.

Spreading some fangirling pixie dust like

634 pages of high school paranormal delicious drama

Honestly I think it was the quickest 634 I've ever read. I expected this to drag. Nope. I was sorry it ended. And be warned it did end on a cliffhanger. You will want more!

My thoughts on this latest installment are simple really;
- I love this series (if you hadn't worked that out by now).
- I love this harem, it has multiple kinds of supernaturals and muliplte POVs
- I have a new favourite. Connor nearly broke and stole my heart at the same time

Some annoyances were still there, they just don't dampen my enjoyment enough to dock a star!
- the ever present fear of stairs is getting a little old now
- the spelling and editing problems are numerous. (If I notice them then you know they are obvious)
- the "praying for patience" face that annoyed me in book 2 was replaced by "save me from teenagers" expression - but I do this a lot as a mummy so I think I can forgive it now.

The slow burn is slow but this whole delayed puberty thing was genius. What a great plot device and so much drama and sexual tension can be built from it! There is kissing and a little more on the m/m front

Did I mention how much I loved this harem??

The only kink in my #haremgoals is a certain incorporeal member, but I think that problem has been solved all my dreams are coming true.

Read other books from this author in the future: yes

The third sequel Save Spirit is about the relation of Callie and the guys Felix, Donovan, Kaleb, Conner and Nolan. It turns into something more during this book. And it is about saving Felix.
At first I thought that this is a really long book with 624 Pages, but I read it in just two days and I did not want it to end.

Such beautiful balance that it nearly makes my heart hurt.

Wills has done a wonderful job with this third installment of the Bound Spirit series. We're digging into some of the biggest questions that have been bursting since Callie & gang met each other in book one: When will the romance really begin? What, exactly, is Mildred hiding? Will Kaleb ever make a joke? And, most importantly, will Felix ever find a way to become a "real" boy?

I couldn't even believe that she faced down all of these questions, and I give her major kudos for working her *ss off to get this book out into the world and onto the kindles and laps of her loyal readers.

One of my absolute favorite parts of Save Spirit was that there's this gorgeous balance between tackling those big questions with seriousness and all the ensuing dramatics they deserve as well as a sense of humor that had me literally laughing out loud as I read. Now, for those who might be worried, no fear- Wills does justice to all that we want to know.

Some of these laughable moments are honest comedic relief of the silliest kind in the perfect way that a bunch of friends (and maybe some that are a bit more) can rag on each other to break the tension. Others are the honest, bittersweet moments where desperation leads to the most horribly wonderful teasing and "well, look at the bright side" moments where the characters (and we) just have to laugh so that they don't cry instead. These moments feel REAL, not just an attempt to bring some levity to a book that's hefty with the drama.

Callie really goes through the wringer, trying to figure out all the relationships in her life (Mildred, the guys, and an unexpected new friend). Not only that, but there are some cringe-worthy but hysterical and totally understandable side effects to her magic that make me just feel so much sympathy for her. Despite this book kind of kicking her *ss, it also lifts her up in some amazing ways, and we're seeing character growth- she's becoming more knowledgable, more confident, more sassy and brave and secure in herself as a woman who can command the attention of not just one, but five men.

The guys also have some praise-worthy moments in Save Spirit, and fangirls everywhere will be fanning themselves, swooning, and worshipping and cursing Wills in equal turns.

I can honestly say that I 100% see growth in each of these characters throughout the course of Save Spirit, which is not always the case in RH writing. Donovan is still frequently shirtless, so no worrisome change there, but we dig a bit further into the feelings that he unsuccessfully hides about the path fate has decided to take him down as a dark nephilim. Connor...well, let's be honest. Even if he didn't change, the hordes would still worship him and make little flannel-wearing plushies in his honor. Yes, Wills, still a tiny bit of bitterness there, but in the most fun and appreciative way <3 But for real, Connor is talking a bit more (still no giant monologues, don't worry), and he's one of the first that shows some real emotional vulnerability in Save Spirit.

Now, the stand-outs. For me, Felix, Nolan, and DEAR GOD, Kaleb surpassed the other two. Kaleb's mask is cracking, so we're getting to see what's behind the perfect veneer that he shows to the world, and I think a lot of us weren't quite prepared for what's in store underneath the All-American perfectionist. HE'S STILL NOT MY FAVORITE, BUT I CAN'T DENY THAT I FELT MORE FOR HIM THIS TIME AROUND. I guess my mask is cracking too.

Felix is just so adorable. But he's also sweet, and a bit shy, and a bit insecure, and the poor guy just makes me heartbreak because Wills has created some awesome men for Callie, but I just want so dearly for Felix to get this HEA. There are some secrets he's been keeping, and they add this sense of urgency and just heighten all the emotion tied and twisted into the open-ended question that is his fate.

Nolan. Dear, sweet Nolan is also breaking my heart because he's fighting so hard. Like the others, he deserves happiness, he deserves Callie, and he deserves to know that he deserves her. But he has so much baggage wrapped around his ability to have a relationship, that even though Wills gives us SOME OF THE MOST ADORABLE HALLMARK MOMENTS AND TEASING BITES, he's still dragging his heels. I love him, but I'm mad at him. In the meantime, I'll just giggle as he suffers while others get closer to her because they've put their man pants on and are facing some of their issues.

Overall, I loved it. Really, I don't know what else to tell you (she says as she pretends that she didn't just write an essay on the book). Watch out for that ending, ladies (and the rare odd gentleman book lover). It's a heart-stopper.

Took me a long time to get through this. I had decided to toss this novel at 26%, but then later realized that other parts of the novel were too compelling to leave it. My thoughts at 26% were: Basically the moment she thought to “save” her friend by finding him a dead body to inhabit, I was done. She has literally known these guys for a month. Yes, they’ve been through some stuff, but she still knows NOTHING about her magic and very little about the supernatural word or her friends. This is a typical rash teenage decision and exactly why her powers were bound- too powerful for her own good. She has no concept of what she is doing on the grand scheme of things but she’s going to do it anyway. So ridiculous. Anyone who has seen Jurrasic Park knows the line about being so excited that you could do something you don’t stop and ask if you should. She was such a grounded level headed character and this is such a huge divergence that I just cannot suspend reality for any longer.

After finishing the novel, I think there are still some major holes in the plot and world-building surrounding her power and her decision to help her friend. The fact that they are operating on virtually zero knowledge of her power is dumb. My question about WHERE ARE THE PARENTS? still irks me. The "good" parents are still absent, and that's an issue for me. Even if they aren't all up in their kids' business, there is still an unbelievable absence. Don't Nolan's parents know that he's not drinking the bagged blood?? Can't they count? Don't they pay attention to their blood bank bill? There's been no comment about him dumping the bagged blood to cover it up. They should have noticed there was a problem. The lack of info about his sister is also never addressed. So I've upgraded this from zero stars to 2 stars because I still need to know how it ends.

Tears of joy!!!

Oh my goodness....after reading the last page I CANNOT WAIT for the next book to come out! If you've not read the first two books yet then RUN, don't walk to read them! Major payoff in the end, but at the same time leaves you desperate for the next chapter 😁😁😁. Callie in true form goes through some *massive* growing pains magically. There are a number of reveals inn this book. Yet at the center is one truly amazing young woman. Filled with such a huge heart and capacity for love, a fierce determination, and protective spirit for those she holds dear. I honestly cannot wait to see what's next for this awesome group! One thing I do know is Callie will be at the heart of whatever is coming!

The devil is in the details...

Callie has survived hell. She's found family, friends, magic. What she hasn't found is balance. Life is becoming more difficult each day. Blood curses, ghostly visits on the fritz, nephilim busybodies, a wolf that clings tighter than air, and finding out who you thought wasn't really who you thought. Makes being indestructible during beatings seem like a fun past time. No, not really. But handling 1 problem vs a double handful seemed a lot easier.

Spoilers ahead.
I liked Callie. In the 1st book she was fragile but not completely shattered. Second book, she was growing, reaching out. This book? She's closed off. She's hiding. Hiding from the world, her family, her friends. Her personality is shifting, too. Even worse, it's infecting the guys. Those bonding moments are fewer and further between in this book. She's learning about what she is, but she's not really developing who she is. She says the L word many times in this book but I don't feel it.

Sever spoilers ahead, so read at your own risk.
She cluelessly mates Conner. His insistence, but she didn't know. That being said, she tells him she loves him but doesn't try to figure "them" out. She doesn't ask what her part would entail. She doesn't ask if being apart from the pack makes his stance as alpha look weak. He's already on shaky ground after bully bio dad. She doesn't ask him, straight out, how he feels about her loving 5 guys.
She feeds Nolan, tells him she loves him but otherwise they aren't really bonding. Heavy petting, sure. Movie or nightmare cuddles, sure. But other than he loves cars she knows not much about him. Even having her nose rubbed in it by the ex doesn't nudge that. She also isn't really looking for a cure for him.
Felix... I want him to survive. To come back. I do. I don't like how it was done. I get she has choices to make. She's already got a death sentence for existing. But deliberately drawing attention to her and the guys? No. The plan wasn't thought out well. I don't like the part Kaleb played. And I don't like how Kaleb and Donovan have fallen to her whims. I preferred them making her think it through more with their defiance. This kid, the new host, had a life, a family, a girlfriend, a life goal. She's thrown it off the rails. The fallout is going to be traumatic for everyone. Could they not have searched for orphaned coma victims? Visited other hospitals, not in their backyard, because, hey, council? These are top of the class students, gearing up to take on huge world affecting problems. They're smarter than this, for all their young age. Maybe my viewpoint as a parent is affecting what I read but I feel so bad for the parents. The girlfriend, losing her bf to another, a girl who already has 4 orbiting her. The dad we're already supposed to feel less sympathy for, but the mom? Maybe she and Felix will heal each other? But she doesn't know it isn't her kid, so how? Felix needs loving parents, but these people are going to be so clueless why their son suddenly isn't who he was. Can Felix handle living a double life? Even being able to leave home at 18 isn't going to soothe the hurt of a son suddenly walking away. This has tragic disaster written all over it.
And Callie has to start growing again. Not powers, as a person. Storming off, literally, isn't working. She has to find some balance. She snubbed meditation before but she may want to rethink that. And listen to her nephilim.

In the third book of the series, you will experience the 3 W's: woah!, wow!, and WTF!?

Be prepared to cycle through all sorts of feelings as Callie continues to sort out what it means to be a Spirit witch, attempts to navigate her ever-growing feelings for the guys in her life, and
determines how she will respond to even more unexpected bombshells of information that are dropped on her.

The switch in character POVs are always one of my favorite things about the series as we have the opportunity to continue to get a bigger picture of how events are affecting not only Callie but other characters in the series as well. As the novel progresses, we also learn more about family, friends, and personal details of the characters, only adding to the depth of the relationships the characters have with each other - and reinforcing the strong relationships readers have formed with them.

As always, the intricacies of H.A. Wills' storytelling will suspend your disbelief and pull you in to Callie's world - and once you're there, you won't want to leave.

Save Spirit is the third (but not final!) book in the Bound Spirit series, which should be read in order, so be sure to check out the first two books, Bound Spirit and Free Spirit, before delving into this one. :)

💜Best Book Of 2019💜

Everytime H.A. Wills writes a book she outdoes herself. You think there is no possible way that the next book could be better than the last then BOOM it is. Her creative writing style and incredible story telling abilities take you on a joney of epic proportions. Character development, word building, plot, grammer, punctuation, everything is in point. When I started reading this series I got hooked from the very beginning and it continues to keep me consumed and waiting for the next book. I like to keep my reviews spoiler free so let me just say this READ THE BOOK. READ THE SERIES. You will be so happy you did.

The only negative thing I can think of about this series thus far are the covers. They do not do the books justice. The life the young heroine has led has been abhorrently violent yet the covers have been serene, sedately peaceful, almost bland. The seas are beginning to churn though as the waves pound relentlessly against rocks and the inner bound violence of the main character begins to manifest itself to the outer world.

UGH THE CLIFFHANGER...okay it's not that bad... BUT MAINLY THE WAITING FOR FOUR MONTHS BEFORE I CAN READ BOOK 4!!!

The problem with starting a series that you really enjoy knowing that it is still currently in the works and you have to wait for the upcoming books is a real sucker punch to the gonads....

This series has the perfect group of friends dynamic! I love all of the characters for their own reasons there isn't one that I really favor over the other. I also find that the way that the story is written makes it so easy to follow along, it is fantasy/paranormal in the real world which really helps me understand whats happening, instead of having to world build.

Callie is still as sassy as ever trying to find her way through being a spirit witch and being a "normal" high school girl with 4 (5 if you count Felix) super hot supernatural "best friends", aka wannabe lovers, lets get real.

I think that the sexual/romantic tension throughout this whole book was maddening, I was like one of you guys better get some, come on! But let me tell you... if you are wanting some sexy time to happen, it won't be found in this book. I think that it works with the characters though since they are all still in high school and trying to figure out how to keep their friendships with each other and with Callie.

The way that this romance is building definitely reminds me of The Cardinal Bird, it is such a slow burn that you are literally rooting for someone to kiss or at least act on something! Like I said for "Cardinal Bird", H.A. Wills is giving Mariana Zapata a run for her money for being the Slow Burn Queen, because I am on book 3 and all we are getting are some make outs... but I will say that this has more than Cardinal Bird.

I still think that Kalebs romantic connection is still the weakest in my opinion, but it does pick up a little towards the end. I think Connors relationship with Callie might be my favorite, he is so sweet and such a quiet misunderstood hero that I can't help but love him!

I do think that the next book is going to be interesting with navigating their new found problem

Well I am just going to sit here for a little bit, try and find a series that can match up to this while I wait patiently for the fourth book to come out..... Good thing that leaves me time to reread these beauties before then! Might have to get physical copies so I can tab it up and take notes! If you couldn't guess from this review I really recommend this series for people who are getting in to paranormal/fantasy RH and want a little bit of MM mixed in (I will say that the MM is brief, like either hinted at or a small scene but it doesn't get in the way of the main romance)

Ya know... For a YA book, it's pretty good writing.
I'm enjoying the series...and for a person that loves.smut with her RH fix, that's saying ALOT....

I wonder if the author has some dirtier books lol. I bet she'd kick it with some smut.

The minute Save Spirit came out, I threw my current book aside, and dived into book three of one of my all-time favorite reverse harem series.

I just can’t get enough of Callie and her guys! Well. Mainly her guys. And mainly Connor and Felix. They’re both stark opposites: the overprotective, broody and sometimes moody alpha werewolf (Connor), and the nerdy, adorkable, sweet and compassionate bestie/something-more ghost (Felix). Apparently I have a wide variety of taste when it comes to guys. Ha ha.

There wasn’t much action in this book as opposed to the previous books. But I didn’t mind one bit, because it was chock full of sweet moments, bittersweet moments, and some steamy moments. I love that H.A. Wills isn’t throwing one girl and a bunch of guys together too fast. It’s more enjoyable and believable to follow everyone as they slowly and organically develop feelings for one another.

I felt like this book was better balanced than the previous one. All the guys got ample POV-time. Their character ARCS also progressed at a somewhat equal pace. Even though I’m extra smitten with a couple guys (Connor and Felix), I still love Donovan, Nolan and Kaleb for their unique and endearing personalities.

The well-conceived, unique, and fleshed-out characters really make this series for me. I really liked that Save Spirit introduced a new female character who Callie becomes friends with. I love the guys, and I love their relationships with Callie, but I also think it’s important to balance your friendship circles. In the previous books, Callie was in desperate need of a girlfriend to relate to and confide in. She finally gets a girlfriend in Save Spirit, who happens to be a riot and so much fun to be around. AKA: double win.

As always, the wait for the next book will be torturous!

💖💖I need more!!💖💖

This is by far the best in the series so far!!!
It was an emotional rollercoaster of ups and downs that suck the readers into their seats for every twist, turn, and loop! All we can do is sit back and enjoy the ride!!
But just a warning to those who haven't yet got on this magical ride...
You won't want to get off!!😘
You'll be hooked and will stand In line just to do it all over again!! Because it's that addictive of a ride!
In this amazing book Callie is still reeling from what happened in the Forrest and that her magic is no longer bound.
We already know she ends up with all of them since its a RH but it's so fun reading the dynamic between her and the guys slowly progress.
This is a slow burn in case you didn't know. YA until they are 18 then transitions into NA.
So no FUN times... Yet😉😉
But don't let that deter you, it's still Hot!!
And that Cliffhanger!! Damn!!
Can't wait for book 4!!!

Wonderful!

We get much more of Felix this time around, which o was hoping for. He’s such a great character, both complex and compelling - as are the other guys in Callie’s unintentional harem. Even Connor - who, while incredibly quiet most of the time, still manages to steal the show when he does speak. And don’t get me started on the other three! Love them. Love Callie. Frankly, I think I love them all, and book 4 is promising to be a dramatic mess to clean up three events of book 3. Whoah boy!

First person, multiple POV, Slowburn YA/NA PNR RH
Cliffhanger
Rating = PG-15 hedging towards R
Character age range = 17+

Pros:
- Doesn’t feel like a YA, though it is.
- Characters actually have depth.
- The Plot is in flex, though there is an underlying connection.
- Well written.
- Good length!!
- Good cover.

Cons:
- moral question was not answered the way one would expect.... makes for a better plot though.

I really enjoyed this series, way more than I thought I would. It makes me want to give the veil diaries another shot, but somehow I just don't see it comparing.

* That being said ... I went to this author's Facebook page, just to see if she had any other books or if this book was being continued and I read a post from her that was absolutely ridiculous. She was so condescending and b****y to her readers in this post I started to regret my patronage. It's horrible when you find out a book you really enjoyed was written by someone that would disrespect her readers in such a way. * (JMO)

Ignore this review if you don't want summary/ spoilers. I am making this review so I can keep track of the series that I am following.

Heroine: Callie
-OP magic powers
-Heroine has emotional issues, if she has an angry outburst then all of a sudden her magic grants her wishes. Which is terrible because she is try to hid her magic powers.
-Magic Counsel will probably want her dead.
-Her aunt is actually her grandmother and head of their family coven.
-She is part of a very powerful witch coven, making her like a witch princess.

NOTE: Big issue they are try to bring their friend Felix back from the dead which is a BIG no-no in the supernatural community.

Heroes:
Kaleb-Angel
-He has more personality in this book.
-Ghost because he disagrees with the whole reviving friend thing at first, but comes around.
-Helps MC find the body for Felix.

Donovan-Fallen Angel
-MC hits hims so hard she breaks his body. Then heals him but connects his body to hers because she is untrained.

Nolan- Vampire
-Continues to drink blood from MC. It's a little less awkward as they work things out.
-Is Bi and had a friends with benefits thing with Donovan.
-I love his parents.

Felix- Ghost
-His reason for being on Earth has been solved, but he doesn't want to leave his friends.
-Rejects his door to heaven several times and starts to disappear because of it.
-Enters MC sex dream (Group orgy which was hot and funny)

Connor -Werewolf
-Ohhhh. This wolf tricks the MC into a mating bond. He did it to protect her but it was more than either of them bargained for.
-Alpha of the pack and most of his wolves are drawn to the MC because of the "calling"

I am glad to see some other characters with more depth to them. I also liked the pacing of this book compared to the other 2 books in the series. The school drama is less and it seems like the MC is finally making some female friends.

Things are finally getting hotter. She has not kissed all of the boys and has done some light foreplay with a couple of them. Then there was the part where she was having a sex dream with all of the guys.

They successfully get Felix a body guilt free after some drama. However you're left on a cliff hanger because now Felix has to pretend to be this guy that he isn't who has a girlfriend! Seriously Felix, just pretend you have amnesia and go from there.

I am loving this series so much. I can't believe I have to wait so long for the next one in addition to the next one of the veil series. This is truly painful. I love them all so much. This book definitely ended with a bang that hirt my heart. I know that it is going to be a very emotionally tasking situation the deal with felix in james' body. The end left me in a bad state that I wish would have been a good one because now I am left like this and it is not good. I already don't like the idea that james has a girlfriend, I really hope nothing physical happens between them. Also, he is probably abused in some way by his father. *sight* oh well, what can I do. I literally fell in love with Connor. Despite him not being a talker, he still managed to become one of my favorites, if not the favorite. I hope Callie opens up a bit more to him and they become even closer. I am not too worried about Sam but I hope nothing bad cones from her closeness with Connor. Until the next book folks.

Hi my first review on Goodreads.
I love the whole series. The comedy, the boys, and the bonds between them.
Maybe I prefer a less tragic heroin since i am reading to be happy. I would have liked for the problems/enemies to be solved faster.
However the thing I disliked the most is the m/m relationship even if it is briefly mentioned. I love m/m novels, but those relationships should be in the m/m genre books not in a reverse harem one (when i want to read about it i will go to that genre).
The author should have given the warning from the first book, instead of me suddenly (after reading 2 and a half whole books) finding out about it. She did mention that one of the boys is bi, but many other books do that without ever really inserting m/m in the novel.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.

Amazing!!

This story is action packed from beginning to end!

There is so much going on for all of the characters in this book that you will struggle to put it down! Scared that you are going to miss things or something bad or good is going to happen and you will blink and it will be gone! So many emotions were swirling around inside me as I read this book and I was on the edge of my seat.

The ending to this book will have you begging for more!! Can’t wait to see what happens next for everyone as I believe it’s going to be explosive!!

Omg!!! Such a good book!!! Callie really makes the first strides in becoming something beyond the broken abused girl that couldn’t die. She’s learning her magic and what it means to be such a powerful witch. Along with a mistake here or there which could happen to anyone.

Her journey of self discovery also has her traveling down the path to something beyond friendship with her guys. Just the first steps in that regard, but progress is progress baby and holy hotness Batman!!!

That ending!!!! Then next book needs to be out already so I can get my Callie and Crew fix!!!
