Hello.

No, down here.

Farther. For god sakes, I’m down here.

Finally, it’s kinda hard being noticed when your two and a half inches tall. I’m Trixie the pixie clean-up crew at Casa de la Muerte. Why is this important; because I’m damn awesome at my job.

I’m the sweetest Pixie you will ever meet, just ask Taryn. She loves me dearly and lets me ride her batsy all the time. She’s a succubus who SUCKS.

Tiana is my bestest friend in the whole wide world. She has a sweet tender side that will give you cavities, just watch out for the teeth.

Diego is the knight in shining armor who would never harm a fly, or in my case a pixie. He rescues damsels in distress all the time.

See, Casa de la Muerte ain’t your normal brothel. It’s run by the damned, for the damned. I’ll try to make sure you survive your night with us, but no promises.

*Warning* This book is intended for readers 18 and up. There is strong sexual content that has no consent and therefore may trigger readers. This book also contains several very graphic scenes of a violent nature. Please be aware this is a Dark Erotica book with multiple storylines and ends in several cliffhangers.

January 2024 update: Melody is no longer publishing. Thank you for all of the support over the years.

Melody Calder is a multi-trope romance author with an addiction to chocolate, dill pickles, books, and swearing; not necessarily in that order. Her mind is always full of interesting characters and plot twists. She not so secretly loves cliffhangers and endings that are not the norm.

She hopes to survive the teenage years of her twins, which is worse than the terrible twos, and her puppy who lives up to his name - Dragon. Her hobbies include collecting elephant figurines, painting, and annoying her husband by forgetting to switch the laundry. Her family and friends will tell you that she needs reminders for everything, but they love her anyway.

The storyline was cut through often by Trixie, the pixie who ties the stories together. Whatever charms Trixie had, I was quite frustrated by how her interjections interrupted the flow of the story for the other characters. It reminded me so much of the A/Ns fanfic writers used to leave in the middle of their stories that I felt like I was back in 2008.

The interruptions made me disinclined to continue the story because I was annoyed at being jolted out of it. For others who don't mind these interjections, I'm sure this story is very appealing! But it was not for me.

As a preface to this review, these authors are all new to me, and I had no idea what their usual writing style and stories were like before reading this book. I was initially interested due to the concept of a paranormal brothel, but this book turned out to be a huge surprise, especially due to the other non-descriptive reviews on Goodreads.

Deadly Desires is a very odd and twisted book that revolves around a paranormal brothel of assassin-prostitutes run by Madame Dupree. It also focuses on a 666-year-old pixie janitor named Trixie who is magically physically bound to the brothel upon its creation and starts off as a tiny 2-inch being. The main prostitutes that she regularly bothers and spies on include Diego the Alpha shifter, Taryn the succubus (and her pet bat Nergal), and Tiana the shapeshifting dryad. In the introduction, we learn that clients of the brothel often end up dead, and Trixie's main job is to clean up the bodies of these Johns and Janes. Later, we learn that the brothel is

The chapters are written by switching off the point-of-view with Trixie and the different prostitutes as well as some of their victims in each of their separate storylines. The text often contains 1st-person sarcastic and sassy interjections by Trixie from her perspective of the same events, and they can be very confusing and disruptive to read.

The descriptive language throughout the novel is very crude and blunt, which can be a refreshing change from euphemisms in most romance books. However, my main issue with the book is that I don't think the warning the authors provide in the synopsis and the beginning of the book prepares you to come across graphic MM (and lighter FF, menage, and reverse-harem) scenes and hard kinks like male Omegas that can get pregnant. I had assumed dark erotica just meant typical bloody dubcon limited to basic violence like rape, torture, and murder, but it crossed more uncomfortable topics than just that. I advise skipping this book if anything mentioned earlier and graphic scenes about ephebophile and pedophile characters are a no-go for you.

Dubious graphic and violent storylines that were an eye-opener for me included the following:

Some very bizarre kinky things that Trixie is described to have done in the book include

Overall, I found it a very interesting book that was decently written for a book with so many authors and distinct plots (with the occasional typo). It was pretty easy to read once I was able to get over the surprise of new weird, kinky, and graphic material, and the book did end with HEA for almost everyone Ultimately, I would have to say the scenes at the end of the novel were more palatable to my more vanilla tastes than how I was violently introduced to each character in the beginning of the book.

I was morbidly fascinated at the imagination of the authors, but ultimately, I was pretty uncomfortable throughout the whole book, and I would not choose to read a book like this again or any future novels in the series if I had known what kind of topics the book would cover.

Dark, Delicious, Decadent!
This is one of the weirdest, darkest, and bestest books out there. I loved it to pieces and it is probably somewhere in my top 20 of all times. It is unbelievable how four different authors managed to write a complete book in such an amazingly unified manner. The story flows seamlessly and consistently, and while it is perfectly logical that each of the authors took on one of the main character’s voices, they managed to harmonise their writing styles perfectly.
I have to mention that this book is not for sensitive readers, probably because of all the stuff I like about it, blood, gore, violence, extreme sexy stuff. I know, funny. The main characters are anti heroes, vigilantes and bent on revenge and I loved them for it. They are also highly sexual, and kinky factor in this book is through the roof. So is extreme hotness and steaminess.
There are four main characters, Trixie the pixie, so freaking funny and probably my favourite, then Diego, alpha wolf, Taryn, the succubus and Tiana, the dryad. Each one of them is so fundamentally different and unique, and yet they have a lot in common, and I don’t mean just the place where they work and spend most of their time.
I absolutely have no clue how to describe anything else or how to express my love for this book without giving spoilers, but I’ll say this, if you are not a sensitive reader, this is an absolute must read. The originality, the uniqueness, and the amazing writing, make this book a fantastic and extraordinary reading experience. I loved it so much and can’t wait for more. Please, please make more.

Can I say OH MY GOODNESS!! This is gold people. It is gritty, deadly and OH SO HOT! The characters are amazing. My favorite character is Trixie, Oh my goodness she is a riot. I fell in love with her immediately. She has her pixie tantrums that are hilarious. She also has a mean streak too. She is in a magical house and she cannot leave. This house is not your usual house. It houses the paranormals like succubus, wolf, dryads and etc. This magical home has its secrets and it is crazy. However, I think these paranormals who are in this house think that they will be alone until the unexpected happens. Do they find love? What will Trixie do? She relys on the paranormals in the house. This book got me feeling all over the place. I was up, down every which way with my feelings. This book had me laughing, teary eyed, mad and wanting my own revenge. Sheesh this book took a lot out of me. I cannot wait to see what happens next. Also, this book has some dark and maybe a bit disturbing scenes so if you have triggers then do not read this. Other than that, I freaking loved it.

Wow I wasn't expecting this at all. This book was amazingly unique, I've never read anything like it. It's so dark but, at the same time, hopeful. I loved pixie to death! She's hilarious, everything she said made me laugh 😂
Every character is different and unique, they are on the bad side to do good, and I'm so happy that everyone of them has now someone to love and support them.
That final scene was heartbreaking! I was so sad for Madame and specially Pixie 😢 but then you made it all better with that colorful surprise at the door, so you're mostly forgiven 😘
I'm super excited to read the next book, can't wait to see what's more to come 🖤

Wicked, Dark and Depraved

The Brothel of the Damned is an interesting place. Those that live there do wicked thing to very bad people. This story was such a turn on allowing the reader to imagine a place where bad people receive the punishment they deserve. Trixie annoyed me at first with her comments, by the end she had me smirking. I’m so intrrigued to see where their stories take them next.

A magical place housed by different paranormals for a single purpose... The Brothel of the Damned, a place where justice is served in their own way to the ones that deserve... it got violence, drama, humour and gets as steamy as Hell... it’s absolutely laudable that four different authors had conceived such a deadly story... worth reading!!

PS : Don’t mind Trixie, the dark humoured pixie coz she is everywhere annoying everyone & anyone...

This book is a bit all over the place! However, I did like it!! The best part is the little pixie with
her narrative, very funny, very Filthy mind!! The succubus was my favorite character. Overall
a good read. I have decided not to describe nor name all the other characters because I feel like
the way this book is written [Insert the pixie] narrating from the start, she is your personal guide
and helps you to get an intimate feel for them all.

Like nothing you’ve ever read

Incredible. How all the authors come together to create this book is beyond me. I’ve never come across anything like this before in terms of style. Absolutely loved it. Be warned it’s dark and gritty and full of triggers. But also full of laughs and love.

Wow um wow!! Definitely a steamy romance. I’m drawn to read the next book, I just want to know why she was trapped. Why can’t she leave?? Hundreds of years trapped in that house. Very interesting way of telling the story also switching perspectives yet inserting the pixies POV inside those perspectives. I enjoyed it.

Trixie starts out being annoying. I was wondering if she was ever going to get to the bodies. This book was dark but so panty melting hot. By the end of the book I totally loved Trixie.
