As a child, one of my favorite times was when my mom would read to us from a novel...her fave author was Zane Grey and my fave book of his was 30,000 On The Hoof. So, yes, I love the ‘western’ books. This story of a Frontier man, who lives in the worlds of the white man as well as the American Indians, is absolutely captivating. Calhoun is an expert tracker, marksman and survivalist. This particular tale shows his grit and determination to bring justice to the gang that murdered his friend and mentor, and kidnapped the man’s half-Indian daughter. I really enjoyed this book and look forward to reading the other books in the series. Give this book a try...you won’t be disappointed.

This book better than the first.

I read this novel in a day just as I did the first. As I get to know the characters more deeply I am even more drawn into the series.I find not only good depth of characters but the description of the land and weather in the dead of winter making my own feet feel the chill. I will wait a day or two for book number three. I want to keep my interest at it's peak.

It’s a great story! From mountain cabins, small valley towns, to bandits who run to the high snow filled mountains, it’s all in this book. I’m quite fond of Moses Calhoun as he takes on harsh life itself to protect those he loves and admires. He is the true protector of his family. Thanks for a grand adventure while he captures the worst of men in order to save the daughter of his best friend. I loved every moment of this read and look forward to the next book.

Kept me on edge of seat

This is the second book in the Moses Calhoun series that I've downloaded thru Kindle Unlimited and I can't wait to start the third. Such strong women characters! Just downloaded Book #3. I wish there were more! The author made me feel I was in the old Wyoming territory riding for my survival.

Great book again!

In this second book of Moses Calhoun’s life in the mountains, we find him minding his own business when his friend and mentor has been murdered by four men. The men took Moses’ friend’s daughter with them as they got away. This did not sit well with Moses and the story begins...

Disappointed

I have read several of Robert Peecher's books . This one, I was very disappointed, too many useless words to fill a quota. This would have been a great short story, and stuck to the main storyline.

No good deed...

Once again Moses gets himself caught in the middle while trying to bring some killers to justice. Follow along with him as he tries to do the right thing, but trouble seems to follow him all over the mountains. Excellent story!

Fast paced action

Warning...If you pick up this book to read, you will find it hard to put down. Fast paced action and danger all around. If possible , this is even better than book one....

Great story

This is the second book I have read in the series and I am off to read the third.

This book shows how hard it was to live out west before it was what it is today.

I like the main character and appreciate his loyal and yet reclusive nature.

I recommend this series.
