After two and a half years of reading, I am through all four volumes. I started with the first book in Volume 1 and gave every book a chance. I read about 40 in each volume - many I had already read, and some I just didn't want to read. However, the vast majority were excellent books. Reading collections like this is a great way to step outside your own generas and prejudices and read something new. I highly recommend it.
