Messy: Season One

Rate this book
As long as it's standing, the hood will always have its problems. For Winter's streets, that problem's name is Jessie. From gossip to affairs with the wrong man. Families split apart. Murder. Every ill move is fuel to the fire on this block. With so many players in motion, will anyone finally mature and leave the drama alone? Or will it continue to be a messy day after yet another messy day in the hood?

This novella is the first season in a new, street lit drama series. It begins with the childhood beef between Winter and Jessie. No matter the isolated drama, it always comes down to their unresolved issues. Winter knows for a fact Jessie ruined a good thing for her when they were kids. He has yet to own up to it thus further tarnishing her good name. Jessie knows deep within his heart he has never done wrong to deserve the misfortunes that come his way. He believes himself to be kind, unapologetic and a caring friend. He always makes the mistake of helping the wrong people. Every good deed comes back to bite him in the ass.

Over a decade later, these two are still trying to determine who's to blame. Is Winter holding on too hard to fight for the forgiveness of someone she claims to not care that much about? Is she misplacing anger with herself onto Jessie? Could Jessie be as toxic as everyone claims him to be? Does he need to take a long look in the mirror and realize its not always others but him?

This book contains short "episodes" (chapters). You should feel as though you are watching a miniseries or serial drama.'
