*previously titled The Ranger's DestinyAn animal rescuer and an ex-army ranger partner up to stop a rash of violent crimes against canines. Yet as he watches her fight for defenseless animals, he finds himself drawn to more than her noble cause. Will baggage from the past prevent them from allowing themselves to fall in love? Or will the good work they're doing soothe their troubled souls and bring them together?
I'm sad to see this series end, but it went out with a hit and a great wrap up. Mason and Holly have instant chemistry. They are both wonderful people. I loved their characters and I loved them together. The story really pulled me in. A great way to end the series.
A Clean Army Rangers Romance series is one of the first set of clean contemporary romance books I ever read. This series hooked me forever on clean romance. The romance is soooo much better because a good author will work very hard to make a simple kiss that much more swoony and meaningful without the backing of additional physical intimacy. Bree Livingston has this skill in spades.
Her heroes are fantastic. To me, there is nothing better than a hero that has done the things to keep people safe, things the average person wouldn’t dream of doing, and still he has this little bit of uncertainty about his worthiness to enjoy the love of a woman and a family. This is Mason, our hero in this book, to a T. Holly, our heroine, is a determined soul who rescues animals others would give up on. She has gotten herself in some trouble by angering a secret band of dog fighting jerks. Mason is assigned to protect her and boy, is she ever hard to protect.
Mason and Holly’s story is perfect. Mason helps Holly learn she doesn’t have to fight the bad guys on her own and Holly makes Mason understand he is absolutely worthy of love and doesn’t need to worry that his past will define his future.
I highly recommend this book. If you haven’t read the first five, go back and read them. You will become a military trope fan for life!
Wow! What a wonderful end to a wonderful series! I’m still smiling about the epilogue!
This was one messy, passionate misunderstanding after another. Our H and h were trying to get over their insecurities enough to admit their true feelings, but it took some pretty intense experiences for them to finally come out and admit their love.
I had a hard time putting this book down! I loved that the H finally realized that he could choose to be more than his background. He could take those traumatic childhood experiences and choose the opposite path. What a beautiful thing when someone successfully rejects their past and creates a healthy, loving family.
The h was a bit hot and cold in turns, but people do that when they are protecting their hearts and the hearts of their little ones. Plus, she was a pretty passionate woman. Flying off the handle was in character for her. I imagine once her insecurities were overcome, her passionate nature would be turned toward being a ‘mama bear’, protecting those she loved—people and animals alike.
*poor, **ok, ***good, ****very good, *****something special
I like Ms. Livingston's writing & have read several different stories & series.
I've read this whole series. I have enjoyed each book & getting to know each couple. I have one big problem when the h, Holly in this shuts the H, Mason in this book down & won't let him talk, ask questions or explain anything then wonders why he's not talking. Yet, when he tries she continues to shut him down figuring he doesn't feel the same why so she gets mad at him. He's the one that then apologizes & it's made like he was the only one that was wrong, she never apologized but she accepts his apology & moves on happily. Other than that I enjoyed the storyline & how they came together. Also how the group continues to be close through the years. Yes, I recommend this book & series.
The last Army ranger finds the love of his life with a vet and dog lover.
Enjoyed getting in on the last Army ranger to find love. Been waiting for it to be on the free book on Amazon. Still have Gunnar and Noah story left to read and maybe one more of the other series. Mason and Holly story was exciting and electrifying from the start. It was love at first sight for them both. But Holly needed protection the most from bad guys. So Mason tried to not let his heart take hold. But God had different plans for Mason and Holly. Both had pasts to let go. That happened and love prevailed. Little really needed a daddy after he lost his real mom and dad. Holly loved both of them whole heartily . Nice to get update on the end about all the guys.
I enjoyed reading all the books in the Clean Army Ranger Romance Book series, and this one did not disappoint. It was nice to see the patience Mason, who was sent to protect Holly (dog rescuer) from threats made by leaders of a dogfighting ring. At times, Holly’s character frustrated me at times when she tries to make it seem like she was going to be able to handle these threats without any issues. The story was written well, and I enjoyed the 10-year reunion with the Guardian Group. Another great book from this author.
What a great book. The action and suspense was all great with little love thrown in for good measure. The dog kid allying ring and fights were something you don't hear much about now but they did happen a few years ago. The vet and the Doc and their trial at loving and leaving each other because they could not make up their minds as to what they should do in their lives. This was a Free book and a great one. This is my review and mine alone. Norma Gorrill
The main female is a spoiled princess. She needs protection, but fights it all the time. She wants the main man to spill his guts to her, but doesn't want to open up to him. She's so afraid he'll reject her that she interrupts him to reject him, then yells at him because she fet alone in the car they're in, because he wasn't being effusive and verbose after being rejected.
I had to skip to the end. Mason deserves do much better than Holly. She really needs to pull her head out..
I really enjoyed reading this book! It's an engaging, suspenseful & moving romance. Mason, is sent to protect Holly, & to stop a dog fighting ring in her hometown. Holly, is a veterinarian & dog rehabber. Dogs start to go missing & there are rumors why. As Mason & Holly spend time together trying to stop these people, & keep her safe, their feelings for each other is undeniable. And sorry for the series to end. I loved every story in it! A MUST READ!!
A good clean romance about Holly, owner of a dog shelter, who recognizes dogs are missing and it may be due to dog fighting rings in her hometown. She receives threats and her friend, Kennedy, calls the Guardian Group to come and protect her, which sends Mason. He poses as a substitute town doctor and watches over Holly. Things start heating up and not just with the dog fighting ring. I really enjoyed this book, especially the ten year Guardian Group reunion at the end of the book.
I really enjoyed Mason and Holly’s story. The whole Army Ranger series was very good. It was full of action, suspense, and romance.
I liked the small town where the story is set and Holly’s passion to rehabilitate dogs. It was a bit disturbing to read about the dog fighting and outcome in this sweet romance, but the author does not go into much detail, which I was grateful for.
I had a free copy of this book, but this is my voluntary and honest opinion. Holly Blake rescues dogs and rehomes them, but there is a dog fighting ring that is stealing dogs around town and threatening her life. Mason Andrews is a physician’s assistant who takes over for the town’s vacationing doctor while he’s undercover protecting Holly. Themes in this book are overcoming the past, mothering a sister’s child, and exposing a dog fighting ring. A stirring book and a great end to this series.
You absolutely cannot get anything better in a clean suspense romance novel for this good of a price! Ms. Livingston has truly found her calling in this genre. I love her stories and her style. This one deals with dog fighting rings, which is pretty unique in a clean romance. It’s dealt with in a sensitive manner and I thought it did the subject justice. Always a good read with this author. 👍🏻
I loved Mason's story and the final catch up with all the Rangers. Holly and Mason struggled with their growing feelings during the danger that Holly faced from unknown sources but with Mason to the rescue and a bit of decent communication, love wins. Enjoyable story and I shall miss this group of men.
From the beginning book, I looked forward to each of them. I grabbed them as soon as each showed up. 😀 I realize that this is the last book in this series. I do hope you will write a similar series next..or soon. After all there are many military choices. Please.. I will be looking for it.
Although poor proof reading was a distraction, the story kept me reading as often as possible Mason was abused as a child and still fought demons as an adult. The love interest had a temper that kept things interesting but caused a lot of misunderstanding throughout. This book tied up the previous stories in the series.
Although I usually prefer reading books with a faith element, these clean army ranger romances were fun reads. Strong, capable wounded men and their journey to realising that healing is possible and a lifetime love could be too. Standalone books but more enjoyable to read in order. Clean, sweet (no blushing required).
The story and the writing was good but the main Character Holly was so annoying. She got mad over the dumbest things and I mostly skipped over her parts. I probably would have liked it more if she was written different.
Enjoyed the book. Clean romance and plenty of suspense. Mason never saw himself as having a family or even being in a committed relationship. Until Holly. Now if they could both get on the same page.
Loved reading about these two. How they came together and were strong enough to make it work. Loved how Mason was always there for her. Glad they got together and had their own family. Thanks for a good read:
Great addition to finish off the original ranger group. I adore all of these guys. Mason and Holly have a sweet story with a few scary encounters. I'm happy Mason finally believed himself worthy of love.
I liked the story but a physician's assistant cannot practice without a physician. If Mason was a nurse practitioner he could practice and prescribe drugs. Also it is hard to get into med school. Other than that I liked the story.
Mason is a tough army medic turned PA. Holly lives in a small town and when her rescued dogs start disappearing and threats are made to her life, Mason steps in to sub for the town doctor while protecting Holly. Great story with lots of wonderful characters and suspense.
Read these in order and they were great. Enjoyed each different situation and different characters going through similar feelings. Read one a day till I was finished.
