Could the explosive truth surrounding a five-hundred-year-old painting spell disaster for the Vatican?
Father and son undercover operatives, John and Mako Storm, will have to put their differences aside if they're to discover the truth in time. From the catacombs of the Vatican to the mountains of Sicily, the search is on for the artist’s long-missing journals.
But in the process they uncover something even more deadly.
In Storm Surge, you’ll find everything you expect from bestselling author Steven Becker: Action, adventure, colorful characters, and exotic locations.
This is an intriguing and captivating story. A father and son are under-cover agents and team up together with two female agents to solve a very old mystery in Rome, Italy. The race is on to find an old journal and an ancient Rome painting. And while this search is going on, TJ, Alicia, and Jen are attacked on their charter boat in Key Largo, Florida. The characters are great and I totally enjoyed the fast-paced search and the fight for survival. Highly recommend.
Indeed a fast paced exercise in sitting on the edge of your seat
I picked 5 star because again, Steven Becker wrote an adventure that I didn't want to put down. So glad I discovered Steven Becker!!! I adore the characters and the character interaction that sometimes comes do unexpectedly! I recommend Storm Surge to everyone that likes to turn the page looking for "what happens next".
Storm Surge Indiana Jones mixed with some Troy from the Keys gives this book a picturess setting. I really got into this book and itching to do another one after I catch up on my work. A lot of this book is suspense rather than gunfights. A very well written and use of good words paints a picture in your mind. Using Mac Travis was a good idea. I guess the main thing is that if you like Cussler then you will like Stephen Becker
Another good book. I see I am going to read the rest of Steven Becker’s series. Up till a few weeks ago I never heard of Steven Becker, now I can’t put his books down.
Someone needs to do a better job on actual dive information. The book reads well but if you do dive there is some miss information. We might do a safety stop but never a decompression stop on air or nitrox at a recreational dive.
(A few proof reading errors) Likable main characters. Fast paced with an interesting premise. I have a feeling there are facts to back the relationship between the Vatican and stolen art.
Author’s consistently entertaining and this one holds up. Narrator is top notch. Some proviso with writers works still present in this plot. 3-1/2 ⭐️⭐️⭐️🔅
I have read all of Mr. Becker's books with enjoyment.....except this series. The Storms, make that Mako, are too inept, even for fiction. The plotting is tedious and made more so by the amateurish actions of someone who is supposed to be a competent operative. Sorry, a waste of time. Too stupid to succeed would be a better title.
Stephen Becker has again given his readers a fast paced thriller. This time, one of the key players is the Holy See itself, which automatically guarantees a plethora of misdirection, lies, and intrigue.
