Dating my bestie? Yeah, I can only wish...

Garret Cartel.
Cessna University’s starting shortstop.
Painstakingly gorgeous.
Reserved
Friend-zoned since freshman year.

I have a knack for falling for unattainable guys.
Blame my trust issues.
They keep me safe.

But this is our final year.
My last chance to break the dreaded friend-zone chains before graduation.
There’s one slight problem.

Every time we get close, Garret pulls away.

There’s a secretive side to him I haven’t tapped.
And I need to know.
Is it his secret keeping us apart,
Or something bigger?

No matter what holds him back,
I intend to play my part.
I don’t care how full his count is, I want my shot.
And I don’t intend to stop until he’s mine.

WARNING - Do not start this book as you get in bed for the night because once you start it you will not be able to put it down. The reader had already fallen in love with Garret in previous books in the series. But the secretive short stop kept everyone at arms length. Lexie and Garret have had a connection since freshman year but have always decided that their friendship meant more than the sparks they felt. When the friendship finally becomes so much more when Garret is able to finally open up to Lexie about the tragedy from his past and also allow her to know the secrets he has carried and tried to keep hidden. Or will these revelations be too much for her to handle? With each and every turn of the pages I became more and more invested in not only the characters but the twists and turns of the storyline. Through it all Garret has remained one of my favorite Cessna U Wildcat, who at times needed a slap upside his head and at others you just wanted to hug him. Once again Kimberly Readnour grabs hold of her reader and throws them straight into a beautifully written story. She never disappoints!!

Do you know the heartwarming anticipation you get when you are reading an already INCREDIBLE series, and one of the delicious (albeit mysterious) characters shows up in every book, and then he finally gets his own book??? THIS IS THAT BOOK!

The Cessna U Wildcats baseball series, written by the wonderful romance author Kimberly Readnour…has once again won the College baseball championship with Garret Cartel’s HEA…FULL COUNT. This book literally gave me ALL THE FEELS! From the characters (even Miller the pup is in this one, too!), to the storyline, the texts, the parental anguish and issues, to the twists and push-and-pulls, it has everything! This was such a deep and emotional book! I mean… I had tears welling up my eyes, people!

You should definitely read this series in order, as the characters and relationships build throughout this series…plus you will absolutely not regret it! This is one of my favorite baseball series! Kimberly Readnour has certainly hit a home run with this and I am looking forward to the next book in the series, Caught Looking!

I wholeheartedly fell in love with Garret and his best friend Lexie’s story…this is the PERFECT story for a friends-to-lovers fan! This one is unquestionably getting 5 knocked-it-out-of-the-ballpark stars!

Garret’s story

Each of the stories come with a twist and Garret’s OMG I did not see that one coming! I can’t give a deep review because that will spoil the twist - but it comes very early so couple chapters in and there’s the struggle but wow keeps twisting from there. What I did love though is Murray gets a bigger story and could not love that dog more!

I feel like I say this all of the time, but I seriously can't wait to share Garret and Lexie's story! We've been getting hints of Garret's backstory throughout the series, but the big question remains. Will he be able to let go in order to hold on? His past will finally be revealed and questions answered in the third installment of the Cessna U Wildcats series.

Received in exchange for a honest reviewe

From the very beginning my heart went out to Garret. That boy was holding so much guilt and responsibility on his shoulders. He was so loyal and sweet but just bogged down with too much from his past. I am not saying he should have forgotten the past but he should forgive and move on. He deserves that. He considered himself to be so selfish and yet all you saw of him was how much he cared for others and was so responsible and caring. Him with Olivia was just so sweet and precious. He had a way with kids. You could tell how much he loved Lexie and was in a rock and a hard place.

Mr. fernandez I wanted just to growl at him. He was an adult and putting a kid in that position heck putting 2 kids in that position was horrible. He was manipulative and just plain mean. For Garret to take that high road in the end and forgive and let go when it came to him was amazing. just amazing and shows the character Garret is.

Lexie boy where to start. Smart, funny, outgoing and caring. I did have issues at times with how she was acting but I think it was because at times it seemed over the top for her. I loved her friendship with Garret and how they had those texts each day. Her and Garret pushed each other, respected one another and supported each other. Garret was just having a hard time dealing with his feelings, his loyalties and his past. when he was able to be open and honest with Lexie my heart melted. Her response was perfect and showed how amazing she is.

The story for Garret was told in the past and present. This was so we could see what is keeping him from being with Lexie and why he carried so much guilt which to me he didn’t need to. He was involved in something tragic but didn’t create the problem or cause the accident. I love how when lexie learns she is so supportive and loving to him, he needed that and needed to let go of the burden. These two are perfect for one another. The attraction was through the roof but I love how the story evolved. It was not instalove and we are together. It was an exploration and journey of learning to let go, forgive, move forward and allow love into your world. About friendship and family and how one moment can change your world but doesn’t have to consume it.

From the moment that Lexie met Garrett a deep friendship evolved however she wants and now she just needs to convince him. Despite the fact that not everyone in her life supports her she is confident in who she is, what she wants and is willing to go after her dreams.

Garrett is a man with a painful past that is affecting his present. He guards his secrets and only allows people so close before he backs away. He loves Lexi and is determined to protect their friendship but he may need to open up his heart and his life or risk losing her altogether.

The chemistry and connection between them was never in question but the way they support each other when they need it the most is what makes their story so special.

I absolutely loved this book and Garrett; he was this secretive guy we didn’t know much about and his secrets kept me intrigued the while time I couldn’t put the book down. Lexie is this sweetheart and has been friends with Garrett for several years since he has friend zoned her, but her attraction to him has never faded so she does all she can just to be the friend he needs. These two are perfect for each other but with all the secrets Garrett has he just can’t risk falling for someone and letting them get close to him, so he keeps everyone from Lexie to his teammates at arm’s length. Lexie has finally had enough and wants to make a move but things don’t work they way she wants so she tries to move on but no one makes her feel the way Garrett does. The back and forth banter these two have is perfection but can they remain friends when feelings become too much? Will secrets come between them or will Garrett finally open up and let Lexie in? An incredibly good book about learning to forgive our past mistakes and trying to move forward. I can’t wait to see more from this group of friends.

Garret is a very quiet and reserved guy who keeps his personal life extremely quiet and everyone at arm's length. Lexie and has been crushing on Garret since she met him. Unfortunately, he has kept her in the friend-zone since they met a freshman year. She is determined to find out what his secrets are and what his reason is for not moving out of the friend zone. Garret tries to resist Lexie's advances but when his feelings become too much to resist, can he move on from his past or will his secrets be too much for everyone to handle?

Full Count is a best friends to lovers story in the Cessna U Wildcats world. The Cessna U Wildcats series is a home run and keeps getting better by the book. Full Count gives you all the feels and it is great to finally get to see into the mysterious Garret who has always been hiding in the background that you just want to find out about. Garret and Lexie are great friends and their banter is that of real best friends. This story has angst, feels and laughs which keeps you captivated in the story. After three books now I would highly recommend that you read this series in order so that you can follow the progression and growth of the characters. I can not wait for the next installment of the Cessna U Wildcats with Dalton's story.

I was a bit skeptical going into this book since I didn't love the first two books in the series, but HOLY CRAP, I loved everything about Lexie and Garrett!

These two have been the best of friends ever since a chance meeting happened on campus, and they are both secretly in love with one another.. But for reasons that Garrett can't open up about, he refuses act on his feelings. He feels that he would rather have her as his best friend than to lose her altogether if he ever reciprocated her feelings, so he's torn between what he knows he should do, and what he really wants. His story is so heartbreaking, and I wasn't at all prepared for the way he would impact my heart. He's such a good man, who's just trying to do the right thing in an impossible situation.. good Lord I'm getting teary-eyed just thinking about it!!

Lexie was the perfect heroine. I adore curvy female leads who know their worth, and she was absolutely EVERYTHING. She has her own insecurities, especially with how society still looks down on normal sized women and her verbally abusive father, but she is fabulous and she knows it. She's hilarious, sweet, down to earth, and loves Garrett in every way -- she's just finally giving him the push he needs to act on his feelings.

I loved watching these two fall in love, all the while keeping their friendship intact. These two have such a unique and beautiful bond, and I just can't stop gushing about them!! This is a couple that I've been really looking forward to, and I'm happy with the way everything turned out for them!! These two are just meant to be!❤

**I received an ARC of this book and these are my honest opinions!**

Oh Kimberly Readnour, it seems every time I get to the next book in this series I forget how captivating your stories just are.

Grant's story was one I've been curious about since meeting him. He's been a silent steady presence and now finally being in his mind and understanding his life fills me to the brim with joy.

Lexie has been a ball of energy and power since I've met her and she didn't lose that at all. She has been best friends with Grant since meeting him on campus years ago. However she's always seemed to want more and with his lingering stares back at her, she thinks maybe he does too.

Lexie is commited to try and seduce Grant this year and see if he'll cave into the chemistry that is so clearly between them.

Grant tries his bets to resit Lexie and has been doing well at it for the past few years. He doesn't want secrets from his past being even more difficult to hold but when his lips touch hers, he knows things were never meant to be easy for him at all.

The story is easy and fluid. Readnour has a special power in her words that keep you diving in for more until you seek the answers you desire most. However with a few turns and twists, it makes for an emotional, romantic and exhilarating read with a happily ever after near in sight.

A must read if you're looking for something more than a baseball college romance. It's got a bit of angst, a bit of emotion and a few laughs to keep things light.

Thank you for the ARC in exchange for an honest review. I look forward to reading Dalton's story next!!

Garret starts college down by 3, bases load, and a full count. The complicated story of how he ended up there is shared via flashbacks throughout the book. Those vignettes reveal all of the guilt and pain that he has endured over the past four years. His story will break your heart, but you will admire his resolve to do what is right for his family. However, it is this same desire to do the right thing that handcuffs him.

We witness his struggle to carry out his self-imposed sentence as he battles his feelings for Lexi. That man has the restraint of a priest! While he will frustrate you, his relentless determination and loyalty warm your heart and make him so special. Garret is a great guy, and you can see why Lexi has waited so patiently for him. But, how long will she endure this push and pull with Garret?

Before it is too late, can a troubled Garret hit a grand slam by figuring out that his past mistakes aren’t permanently etched on his soul?

I highly recommend this sweet, all the feels romance. Grab a tissue for this moving story of love, loss, guilt, and redemption!

Thank you to the author for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I enjoyed finally getting to read Garret and Lexie's story since being introduced to them in Cessna U's book 1 and 2. They were best friends for 3 years, but finally admit that they both feel more...

Garret has secrets and keeps them to himself. He goes home every weekend, doesn't tell anyone why, and never hooks up with anyone. Since it's their senior year, Lexie decides that she needs to try for more with him. The problem is that Garret doesn't think he deserves anyone at all, especially Lexie, because of his past.

Garret seems like a good guy, but what happened in his past kind of paints him in a bad light for me. Yes, people make mistakes, but wow.. what a big one he made. Without spoiling it... something happens and he makes a very wrong decision right after it happened.

I guess he tried to do right by everyone after that and many other guys probably wouldn't man up to take care of responsibility like he did. I am glad that he tries to forgive himself, though.

The intensity between him and Lexie in this book is there and I love it. I felt happy, sad, and everything in between for both of them. Definitely enjoyed this book.

I absolutely loved this book! I couldn’t put it down and if I had the option to give more stars I would have.

Lexie and Garrett have been best friends since meeting their freshman year of college, they just get each other and have always had a spark between them. Lexie’s parents divorced after her dad cheated and she has a lot of additional responsibilities living at home helping her mother look after her younger brothers. Garrett is a very private, star baseball player on the Wildcats and he’s hiding a secret from Lexie and everyone else. Because of life changing decisions he made as a high school kid, Garrett keeps his home and school lives separate. Even though his passion is baseball, he turned down being drafted his junior year and doesn’t believe he deserves the chance to play MLB. When Garrett and Lexie act on the their attraction to each other it is explosive and his secret is the catalyst that causes each of their insecurities to rule their actions. In order to be together, they need to deal with the past in order to embrace their future.

Full Count is the third title in the Cessna U Wildcats series, but it was my first time reading Kimberly Readnour’s work and I didn’t feel lost not having read the previous titles. I love a sports romance, and this friends to lovers romance is a sweet and heartwarming story with all the feels.

Garrett is incredibly private, secretive, reserved and more than a little mysterious, which says something as he is the shortstop for the Cessna U Wildcats, and has the skills to play professionally. He has a past full of pain and guilt. He’s loyal, loving and determined to do what’s best for his family.

Lexi is a confident, caring, and curvy heroine, despite the fact that she is belittled by someone close to her and that tugs on her insecurities. She’s sweet, down to earth and funny, a very likeable and endearing heroine.

The connection and chemistry between Lexi and Garrett is undeniable and their friendship feels deep and realistic.

I will be looking forward to reading more of Ms Readnour’s work in the future.

I think Garret’s story was the one I was most looking forward to. Mostly because I needed to know to all his secrets! This book was definitely worth the wait.

Garret, god he went through so much at a time that’s supposed to be the happiest time of your young adult life. He is probably my favourite guy character of Kimberly’s. He was loyal, strong, amazing with kids, had such a big heart & was driven to succeed.

I was really happy to see that Lexie was his perfect match. I really like the best friends to lovers trope. I started this book at 10pm thinking I’d read a couple chapters and I just kept wanting to know all of Garrets back story that suddenly it was 1am & I couldn’t put it down till I finished it.

While these are complete standalones, you really should read the whole series because they are definitely worth the read. If you’ve read the first two then you don’t want to miss out on Garret’s story!

I received an arc of this book in return for an honest review.

Oh my heart!!!! What a fantastic couple Garret and Lexie are. I was so intrigued by Garrett in book 2 , but I just wasn’t prepared for the depth of pain, tragedy and suffering he has endured.
What an amazing friend Lexie is, I just love her. She is kind, thoughtful, fun and understanding. I appreciate the fact that she isn’t a door mat, that she knows her own mind and is completely comfortable in her own skin. Even despite the put downs of her awful father.
Ms Readnour has woven so much more than just a friends to lovers tale. It is a beautiful story of family love, sacrifice, guilt and forgiveness. A story that tests a friendship to its limit but ultimately brings a future of happiness and endless opportunities. One that proves when you let the right people into your life and share your story with them, it can enrich it more that you could possibly imagine. Showing that when you have the love and support of the right people you can reach for your dreams and achieve them😊
This is a story worthy of a place on anyone’s tbr... a must read!

I absolutely LOVE me the Cessna U Wildcats series because Kimberly Readnour is absolutely brilliant & so addictive with her sports romance.  Full Count seriously had me all up in my feels, and I'm emotionally drained after finishing every last fantastic page.  Garret has been the secretive shortstop in previous books in this series, so now it's time to see why.  He's best friends with Lexie who wants more, but he's not even looking at it like that or is he?!  He finally gets the courage up to reveal what he's been hiding all this time, and man I was completely wrecked.  Not only did I drop f-bombs, but I also found tears in my eyes trying to leak as I experienced everything like it was happening to me. Plus there's that whole push & pull that frustrated me hard in that hurt so good way, though it brought on name calling of the colorful metaphor variety.  Full Count is a must read for everyone, so hit those one click buttons!  HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!

I have been eagerly waiting for Garret and Lexie’s story and it was so worth the wait. Lexie has always had a bit of a crush on her best friend, but she doesn’t know that he returns her feelings because his past has kept him from acting on those feeling. However, after three years, it’s getting harder for each of them to hide their attraction.

Garret has always had an air of mystery and I knew he had secrets, but I didn’t know that they would break my heart. He is crushed under the weight of the guilt that he carries and his past is more tragic than I imagined. It was heartbreaking watching him cling to the past when he wanted to move on so badly. He’s so afraid of not living up to his promises that he can’t recognize how much character, strength and bravery he possesses.

Lexie was a breath of fresh air. She has moments of self-doubt, but all in all, she’s confident in her body and in who she is. Her strength was inspiring and I loved how supportive she was to anyone she loved.

If you’ve read the previous books, you know that these two best friends are made for each other. They stumble along the way from friends to lovers and their journey is both heartbreaking and heartwarming. Each book in this series is better than the one before and now I’m excited to see what’s in store for Dalton.

I have loved this whole series. This one is about Garret and Lexie. Both of these two people have a hard life at home. Garret is very tight lip about his home life. He doesn’t share anything about it with others. Not even his best friend Lexie. She doesn’t know why he goes home every weekend or how come he doesn’t talk about his family. There’s a deep secret that has been hell for him but he can’t talk about it due to told he could loose everything that he holds dear to his heart. Lexie has a mom who is wonderful and two younger brothers that she helps take care of. He dad cheated on her mom and has left for greener pastures so to speak. The thing is the dad is always on her about her looks and weight and saying no one would like her looks being curvy and not rail thin. She loves her curves and herself but hates the way he uses her. She tries to get Garret to see her another way but he won’t cross the line. She’s not sure why and won’t push anything because they are friends. There is a lot of ups and downs in this book and I can’t wait to read about the next member of the team. This is a page turner for sure.

Everytime I read a new book in the series I am saying this one is my favorite, but let me tell you Garrett and Lexie’s story hands down is my favorite! I could not put the book down I read it in one day! Garret and Lexie’s story was the perfect friends-to lovers romance. I have been anticipating this book to finally reveal Garrett’s secrets. I loved both of the characters and the relationship they developed. I highly recommend this book and all the others in the series. Do not hesitate to read, but do give yourself a good amount of time as you will not want to put it down. Great job once again Kimberly and I look forward to the next book in the series!

Full Count is my first Kimberly Readnour book. It was a cute, sweet introduction to an author. Garrett and Lexie's book gave me all the feels.

Garrett is guarded and secretive even with his best friend Lexie. He hides secrets that he's not willing to allow to be uncovered. Lexie is in love with Garrett and wishes he would wake up and see what's in front of him.

Full Count is a well written friends to lovers romance that has left me needing to go back and read al the other books in the Cessna U Wildcats series. Readnour had me hooked on these two. Her writing was great, her characters were amazing, and her plot was fantastic.

My first read from Kimberly Readnour and I liked this college sports romance.

Garret and Lexie are both attracted to each other but have been just friends since they met. The secrets Garret keeps are there between them, but Lexie really wants to know what would happen if they explore the chemistry they share.

I didn't feel like I connected with the story, but I do enjoy the friends to more trope and thought it was nicely done here. While this is the third book in the series it can be read as a standalone. I do want to go back and check out the first two books, too.

I absolutely loved this one! I have been dying to get my hands on Garrett and Lexie's story for what seems like forever, and boy was it ever worth the wait.
Garrett is probably one of my all time favorite male characters. He has been through so much at such a young age and is still just the sweetest, kindest, most amazing person. I couldn't help but fall in love with him.
Lexie is my kind of girl. She is hilarious and sweet and doesn't let anything her horrible father says get to her. She knows who she is and owns every bit of it.
I highly suggest picking this one up. You won't be sorry!

"This is probably one of the best friends to lovers book I have read in quite some time. No matter what happened romantically between Garret and Lexie, they vowed to always remain the best of friends. And inevitably when things went south, they both tried their hardest to uphold that.
This book was light on the sports side but I didn’t think that this lessened the story any for me. I do love that part about sports romance novels, it is a big reason as to why I tend to favor them over other books. But the whole storyline wasn’t about that part of Garret, well maybe just a smidge. The book for me was revealing Garret’s secrets - of that there were plenty. Some I guessed but others threw me for a loop.
Cannot wait to get my hands on Dalton’s book next. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book."

This is the third book in the series. I couldn't put this book down. I loved Garret and Lexie. Their friendship is one of my favorite parts of the book. Lexie and Garret have kept in the friend zone these past three years, but their attraction to one another is burning hot. My heart bleeds for Garret. His back story hit me right in the heart. That man deserves a HEA. One of Garret's secrets, oh my gosh swoon worthy. That was a sweet and heartening part of the book for me. I would highly recommend this one. This book and series has me because baseball! The heart and feels will pull you in and make you fall in love with this book.

Hands down my favorite book of the series and one of my favorite books of the year! I thought Noah’s Book was the best but then this one came along and I absolutely loved it. 😍 I couldn’t put it down and read the whole thing in one day. 😆 Garret and Lexie’s story was the perfect friends-to-lovers romance. They had been friends for all of college and had an easy rapport despite Garret’s secrets. From reading the other books I thought I knew Garret’s secret but what I thought I knew was only the tip of the iceberg. My heart broke for him and all that he went through. That was a powerful and gut wrenching part of the story. I mean if it could go wrong, it was happening to Garret. He couldn’t catch a break. And when it all came to a head, Lexie was still there, helped him forgive himself and heal, and most importantly she helped him love again. I loved Lexie and she was the perfect fit for Garret. She was a curvier heroine which I really appreciated and Garret saw so much beauty in her just the way she was. 💗 Stories of healing and forgiveness (even if it’s just forgiving themselves) are some of my favorites and this one checks all the boxes. Such an emotional and raw story but such a beautiful ending!

This book was so good. I just fell completely in love with Garrett, my heart just broke for him so many times over, he was such a great guy in every way.

His friendship with Lexie was so much fun and despite the fact that he obviously felt more for her his loyalty was admirable.

As you find out more and more throughout the book about his backstory (with flashbacks) you grow to like him even more and understand why he is the way he is. I don’t want to give anything away though so I’m not going to go into it very much, you are just going to have to read it for yourself. Trust me it is more than worth it.

I love this series and all 3 of these first books have been amazing but I’m dying for Dalton’s book. There is just something about him. I guess it’s the mystery.

Finally!! Tall, dark and mysterious!! I’m a sucker for a well guarded secret so finally getting Garrett and Lexie’s story...Gah!!! I knew it had to be a good one and I was not disappointed!

These two have been friends for quite some time, so their sparks have been flying and friendship have grown for a bit. But as much as they both insist they’re nothing more friends, with their chemistry, you just knew it was only a matter of time for them.

Their journey has some twists and turns that you don’t see coming and once you see all the pieces to the puzzle it all makes sense!

These two were wonderful together and blending their back stories with their present day keeps you reading at a good clip!

I finished Full Count a few days ago and it’s another fantastic read by Kimberly Readnour, it’s still hard to put into words how wonderful this book is. This was a great best-friends to lovers romance filled with so much emotion, heartache, humour and lots of swoon-worthy moments. Love the ease of Kimberly Readnour’s writing style, it was easy to pick up the book and not want to put it down. I am loving the Cessna U Wildcats series, and I can’t wait for more of this series.
