Bahia Simmons was beautiful, smart and on the road to the White House, let her husband Dallas tell it. He was in the running for governor of Georgia with hopes of one day being the president and Bahia was to be right by his side. But there was one thing that was threatening to prevent that from happening. Dallas had a problem keeping his hands off of her and not in an endearing way. Not one to be a stranger to abuse growing up, Dallas uses his authority and Bahia’s darkest secret to keep her right where he wants her. The love for his wife that should have been there is nowhere in sight and that was evident the night he almost took her life. Mazi “Baby” Jones had everything going for himself. At the tender age of twenty five, he was a successful business owner well on his way to being a young millionaire. The only thing, or person, that stood in his way was his girlfriend of five years, Dutchess. Just like Dallas, Dutchess wouldn’t hesitate to lay hands on Baby in the heat of the moment. Against his family's wishes, Baby decides to stay hoping that one day she would wake up and see just how much he really loved her. One night in Miami and a broken nose later, Baby is the one finally seeing clearly when he ends his relationship for good. With an almost ten year age difference between them, what happens when Bahia and Baby cross paths before their hearts and minds are repaired? The sexual tension is apparent and their attraction to one another is strong. Bahia thinks Baby is too young and he’s dead set on showing her that age ain’t nothing but a number. Both broken by the people that were supposed to love them unconditionally, will their pasts hold them back or will they fight for love ‘til the death of them?
This is my first read by this author and it was really good. So god Bahia was able to get away from Dallas and Baby was able to get away from Dutchess no good self, thanks to his sister Santanna. I love Baby and Santanna sibling relationship. Great ending to this story
This was a short but great read. I heard of this author before but this is my first time reading one of her books. I loved how the story played out. Glad Baby and Bahia found each other.
This was my first by this author, but it won’t be the last. This book was well written and packed with that good drama. Dallas was the devil and although indigo played a role in Bahia’s pain, her karma was harsh. I’m happy Santana and major got a happy ending and Baby finally got a woman who truly appreciates him. That dutchess was a mess! Her and Meia. I hate that their deaths happen so sudden, I would’ve love to see them change but hey, I’m not the author. Lol Overall, this was a steady paced read. No complaints and highly recommended.
Man the beginning of this book had me mad as hell. In spite of all the bad that Bahia indured I am so called she found a guardian angel in Santanna even her family became Bahia's family and she even found love in Mazi. They both was there for each other when they needed it the most. Physical abuse is real people same up!
This book was so good but baby, I was stressed to the max!!😩I just felt so bad for Bahia, I want to give her a hug. She went through it with Dallas!! I was too done with Dallas and his shenanigans. He was downright disrespectful and evil. I was not expecting the storyline around Mazi (Baby) and typically we don’t hear much about men being abused. I love that Baby never put his hands on Dutchess. While she didn’t know what she had with Baby, my heart still went out to her. She seemed pretty miserable. There were so many good parts in this story but my favorite was Santana and Major’s new addition and their unexpected surprise. Baby’s family took to Bahia so quickly and they didn’t judge her which was a plus, as well. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this story. It was filled with unexpected twists and was not the typical love story. In the end Baby and Bahia got their happy ending and karma showed out for Dallas. Loved this one!!!
Denora all I can say is WOW! You put your all into this book, and it showed. It took some time, but Bahia was able to reclaim her life. Dallas thought he won, but karma paid him a visit front and center. Indigo eventually felt what Bahia went through. It’s a shame her fate ended differently. Baby was able to love again after his terrible experience with Dutchess. He was finally fed up with her and her ways.
MY FIRST READ BY THIS AUTHOR AND IM LOOKING FOR MORE. LOVED THIS READ FROM BEGINNING TO THE END. I WAS SO SCARED FOR BAHIA SHE WENT THRU HELL DEALING WITH DALLAS CRAZY DISRESPECTFUL ASS . MAIZ HAD HIS HANDS FULL WITH DUTCHESS. SANTIANNA WAS THE MIRACLE THAT BROUGHT THEM TOGETHER AND SHE WAS BLESSED IN THE END. GREAT READ....#KNL
I loved this story. It proves that there are good people in the world. I was happy that Bahia found someone to love her for herself, and the family she always wanted. Dallas was just an azz that care about nothing or no one except himself and his mistress should have known that he was going to change on her too.
I have this book 4 stars because it was a page, and it was so well written. That being said some parts were a little too....good to be realistic. I do, however, enjoy this author's work.
The way Dallas treated Bahia was truly heartbreaking! However this story seems so familiar to me like i’ve read this before. i’m happy that everyone involved got they deserved in the end. especially Dallas, he was the worst!
Omg I just knew it wasn’t going be any happy ending the way Dallas was carrying on his wife lord. Dallas never let up but now Bahia got help and look now she happy and in love. Wow Ind see what happen to u crazy but good book
It's so hard to read about abuse because I was beaten and nearly killed by my ex. This book is so real. Nothing, not even that kind of hatred can stand up to the strength of love.
