Was obsessed with these books in elementary school so I had to add them on here. Such a fun read for kids. I remember reading them over and over again and feeling bad when I finally grew out of them and got rid of my nearly complete collection.
My girls and I have read all the Junie B books together. Barbara Park was an amazing Childrens author. I don't know if my girls like the books more than I do. Probably a tie. Adults will really enjoy reading this with their kids.
I so enjoyed reading this series to my daughter. We started out reading 4 chapters at a time and then read a whole book in one sitting together. She cracks us up and learns so many valuable lessons from her unique point of view. I love all the conflicts and situations that happen revolving around her zany friends and with her supportive teachers.
This book series is amazing because Junie B reminds me of me when I was younger sassy and full of tude and wanting to do things my way and having 2 close friends and a younger brother but when I was in kindergarten he was 3 so a little bit of a closer age gap lol. These book series are amazing 10/10 would read again (I still do it for a guilty pleasure lol).

i loved this series as a kid so so much that i begged and begged my parents to get me my own copy from the book fair for christmas. they ended up getting me the complete series set and i just kept on reading and reading and reading
As a kid, these were my favorite books ever in general, but especially to be read at night before bed. As an adult, I still love these and cannot wait to read them to my own children one day.
Junie B. Jones books are perfect funny books for when you need some relaxing or are stressed out. It's fun that it's from her point of view, so she says stuff the way she sees them!
quirky and unapologetic in all her antics, junie b jones is a lesson in embracing children's individualities by fostering confidence, resilience and creativity. i can wholeheartedly say these books stand the test of time and would not be opposed to my siblings continuing to read them as well
I'm reading these to my 5 yr old daughter. Thery are very funny. And also poignant. Junie B. is a very feisty but lovable kindergartener who doesn't always do or say the 'good-girl' things, but with a little help from the janitor, her parents, a classmate, her teacher, a farmer or even the principal things manage to turn out ok. Well, better than ok. Because Junie has a fantastic sense of humour and manages to think outside the box for some creative solutions to her problems.
love these books. The first few have more naughty words in them than the later ones, tho- (like stupid).
We haven't started the first-grader ones yet. 1 more kindergarten one to go, i think. I'll be sorry when the series ends....So will my daughter.
The series is very funny. DD and i look at each other and just laugh at some of Junie's antics ( ie the actual pet Junie brings to Pet Day). They have enuf pictures in them to satisfy my visually-oriented daughter. ( Some of the other early series books lack this, she thinks.) Junie is a feisty original thinker. Not the teacher's pet, that's for sure. As my dd has attended Junior Kindergarten, i think she knows how to behave at school, so i don't think she is getting any ideas about how she could act there.
The books are written as if Junie is narrating and unfortunately the author does not use proper grammar. I think that reading is a time for little children who are just getting used to how to use proper grammar to hear how it is supposed to sound. A 10 year old reading a book where a 5 yr old is speaking can understand it's not correct grammar but is used because that's how a 5 yr old really does speak. A 5 yr old, OTOH, does not know this and thus can think that that is how one says it. So i correct the grammar automatically as i am reading.
Reading this series reminds me that i'm not the only one with a sensitive, independent-minded child who wants their own way no matter what.
Other excellent series for little listeners (girls esp.) are Tess & Abby Pet Sitters series (Goldfish dont blow bubbles by Weibe) and the Magic Treehouse books.
This was my favorite series in the second grade. I read the first book from my teachers books, she kept in her class room, and couldnt put it down. I told my mom to buy me the rest and she bought me the entire collection. I now read them to my little sister, who is now my personal Junie B. Jones in the flesh! Or maybe shes Romona Quimby!
My boys (5 and 7 years old) think Junie B. is hilarious and never want me to stop reading. I think she is cute but I don't appreciate the unnecessary "stupid", "dumb", etc. vocabulary. The author does bring up good topics for discussing after we are done reading. However, I think we are going to "park" Junie B. for now after completing the first 6 books.
This series was my absolute favorite growing up. I had so much fun reading about Junie as I was going to first grade myself (at the time). It was entertaining with good life lessons in the series as well! It taught you how to make friends, that people aren't what they seem, and to never be afraid of being yourself!
I really liked these books in 3rd, 4th & 5th grade. They are a very realistic representation of a kindergarten girl and her daily life and exploration. I definitely recommend these to kids who are starting chapter books, as long as they know enough spelling and grammar to understand that many of the words Junie uses in narration are incorrect.
We meet June Beatrice Jones, or Junie B., as she prefers to be called, on her first day of kindergarten. The series follows her hilarious adventures through kindergarten and first grade. For young readers, obviously, but funny enough to hold the attention of older readers as well.
These books are wonderful! My children love it when I read these to them and I'm always greatly amused by the stories. Junie B is a terrific character and I see a lot of my 6 year old amplified in her.
This is all we read lately. We love Junie B's humor and I'm constantly amazed at how creative and true to life Barbara Park is with her Junie B stories.
I loved Junie B. Jones. She was funny and mischievious. She has a dog. She is very creative. I would recommend this book to young readers who are beginning to learn to read.
