Something waits for you in the darkness…

An amateur photographer’s pictures reveal a dark secret lurking in an old train station. A fiery nightmare plagues a pair of brothers searching for a family heirloom. And bad dreams spill over into a terrified girl’s waking life…

Scare Street is proud to present the best in bone-chilling supernatural horror. This volume contains three sinister stories for your reading pleasure. Each one brings you a step closer to the shadowy border between life and the underworld. And closer to the darkness that lies beyond…

There’s no time to waste. It’s time to turn the page and dive into the next spine-tingling tale of terror. That’s it, come closer. The spirits hunger for the souls of the living.

And it’s not polite to keep the dead waiting…

Yes!

In Dead House, Lenny Copp is in love with old abandoned buildings and social media.

One night he visits an old abandoned railroad station and begins taking photos for his internet followers. He gets to the third building and...

What We Call Home:

Marv is asked by his brother Johnny to return to their old burned out home, to retrieve something for their mother.

When they get there, Marv begins to see ghosts.

Sleepless Sister:

When her sister August, suddenly drowns, June is filled with guilt because she couldn’t save her.

August was the best at everything. Truly gifted. But why does June keep having nightmares about her?

All three stories are very good and scary. Of course I have a favorite...What We Call Home.

This Volume starts off with a bang!

"Dead House" by Ron Ripley SCARED the living blazes out of me! Urban exploration opens the really wrong door!

"What We Call Home" by A. I. Nasser: SCARED me to the point I felt like I had turned inside out. Classic-style ghost story, and oh! The chills!

"Sleepless Sister" by Rowan Rook: how close can two sisters be, on either side of the grave?

Once again the folks at Scare Street hit it over the fence with Volume 8 of Short Horror Stories. These short but intense reads never get tiresome or stale and I always get excited when a new volume comes out. I have not been the least bit disappointed yet.
If someone mentions to you that there is a building at an abandoned site called the Dead House, don't go looking inside. There are always warnings that should not be ignored. What makes these stories so good is that they are always ignored and we get to enjoy the consequences. What fun!

Short but pack a scary punch

Three very different stories, but each one packs a punch. One story has a young man going into an abandoned train station to take pictures to post online, instead he finds much more than he ever bargained for! The other two stories were about family, one about a pair of brothers and the other about sisters. Both hauntingly nightmarish, as each story unfolds.

Just not what I expected

Before I bought the book I read the reviews and based on the proportions of the ppl who gave the series 4/5stars,I'm disappointed. For me the stories were reheated versions of similar stories with the same predictable endings. I didn't feel these are horror defined. I bought this book hoping that it would be good, then I'd buy the series. For me I'll pass on the rest.

These tales make you want to jump out of your skin sometimes. they get more awkward as they go on in each volume. I love that they are short and can be read fast. I also love that in some of the stories it feels like you are a character in the book. Well done Scare Street! Keep them coming!

3 stories in this one

First story is ok,the second one just to all over the place to make sense. The last not bad, can't call it a book or justify buying any more of them

These authors never disappoint, and this book - OH MY! I absolutely loved each of the stories! It was a quick afternoon read for me. Each of these three stories are sure to send shivers of delight down your spine while drawing you in for more! Ron Ripley, A.I Nasser, and Rowan Rook deliver these short stories with enough oomph to knock you over, with goosebumps racing up and down your skin.

Pure delight!
