Dans un ouvrage volontairement incomplet comme celui-ci, il aurait été plus agréable de ne pas être inondé de références illisibles sur la création de telle ou telle institution et d'analyser le travail des artistes avec plus de finesse. Les "explications" ( si on peut les considérer ainsi ) sur les démarches des protagonistes font penser à la vacuité d'un cartel d'art contemporain. Au-delà de ça, l'ouvrage date de 2003 et faisait donc partie d'une histoire de l'art presque instantanée au moment de son écriture. Le livre n'a pas beaucoup d'intérêt en 2024.
