Edebiyat tarihi ve edebî incelemelerle disiplinlerarası diyalog kuran bu kitap, sanat sosyolojisi, kültür sosyolojisi, sınıf sosyolojisi, cinsiyet ve “ırk” sosyolojisi, meslek sosyolojisi, yayın sosyolojisi, çeviri sosyolojisi, küreselleşme sosyolojisi ve medya sosyolojisi gibi diğer uzmanlık alanları ile edebiyat sosyolojisi arasındaki kesişimleri de ele almaktadır.

Dada a calidad pasable do libro e as sospeitas máis que fundadas que me xera a autora de ser sionista (educada en Tall'Abîb-Yāfā, o sea Tel Aviv, un silencio espantoso respecto a Palestina que se difumina só en manifestaciós pouco categóricas...) leva unha estrela, so porque se non lle poño ningunha non podo manifestar ben repulsión ante tal pasividade a colonialismo e xenocidio.

Ten algúns dos problemas que ten a materia pola que lin este libro, un magma teórico que asfixia a verdadeira dispensa de ferramentas para o que quere iniciarsd en Socioloxía da Literatura. Pero polo menos non saio da clase de Socioloxía da Literatura sospeitando que o profesor é filonazi, cousa que si que pasa con este libro

Un excelente libro de referencia para apreciar la literatura como hecho social. La autora hace un enorme repaso por los estudios sociológicos que han tenido como objeto la creación, circulación y consumo de los textos literarios desde diferentes perspectivas teóricas. Mirar la literatura desde esta perspectiva puede parecer en un comienzo ajeno a la experiencia que tenemos los lectores habituales de textos literarios, pero estoy seguro que más de uno, como me pasó a mí, encontrará márgenes de explicación a su propia experiencia lectora en esta mirada que pretende abordar la literatura como un hecho social, relacionada profundamente con condiciones de clase, de raza, de género, etc.

El libro es un buen resumen de cómo la sociología de la literatura se ha constituido como subdisciplina, especificando los distintos temas que cubre y la manera en la que lo hace. Aunque esperaba una teoría sobre la sociología de la literatura, es una muy buena introducción(muy esquemática, muy sociológica y metodológica, y por tanto, algo aburrida) hacia un poco referido campo en expansión.

An insightful introduction to sociology of literature. Sapiro introduces three levels of sociological analysis: The social conditions of literary production, sociology of the literary works, and sociology of reception. The first level concerns the historical-sociological position of the writers, mediator agencies and, lastly, ideological, economic and cultural controls on literary production. The second level focuses on the complex relationships between the literary content and the sociohistorical reality that is expectedly reflected in the former. The last level of analysis is about the conditions, actors, and processes of cultural reception with a special emphasis on the different functions undertook by the translation and (literary/cultural) transfer in the literary field.

Uma excelente introdução para se entender por onde passam as ideias de pensar o sistema literário como algo que vai do público ao privado sem deixar de levar em conta a prática estética. Sapiro consegue ser menos prolixa que o orientador, ao mesmo tempo consegue seguir o trabalho do Bourdieu indo além e lançando boas alfinetadas. Uma pena o livro estar, nesse momento, esgotado porque é um livro muito importante pra pensar todo o campo dos estudos literários.

Dağınık bir kitap, daha doğrusu ben düzenleniş biçimini çözemedim. Edebiyat ve sosyoloji bağlamında bazı temel kitapları (P. Bourdieu'nün Ayrım, Sanatın Kuralları vb.) okuduğunuz varsayılıyor.

Manual básico de socioloxía literaria. Nada que non dera máis profundamente na carreira. Está ben se queres repasar conceptos básicos e poñer orde a certas correntes e teorías.

The book serves as a great introduction to the field of sociology of literature, structured in the form of a handbook. It covers three major subfields of the sociology of literature – the analysis of the conditions of the creation of literary works, the sociology of literary works, and the sociology of the reception of literary works.
Although the first part of the book is quite theoretical and demanding for the reader compared to the rest (it is good to be familiar with terms such as symbolic interactionism, functionalism and structuralism in sociology beforehand), the rest of the book reads very well and is especially easy to read due to the simple and meaningful structuring of the text.

it also must be noted that as much as the book tries to pose as a handbook, it is kind of biased. the book clearly very heavily builds on the bourdieusian perspective and fails to mention other contemporary paradigms. for example, she somehow manages to not even mention jeffrey alexander.

Clearly I do not have the expertise to write a review on this book and the subject itself. But I chose to read it precisely to understand what the sociology of literature was and what new points of view it could offer me, outside of all the usual patterns of literati criticism.
I found that there are a number of data that I was not taking into consideration such as publishing houses and translations, to name a few.
So, if you are interested in a still little-known subject that might provide you with additional insights for a more in-depth reading of a book, this handbook is for you, not least because it is well written and clear.

Chiaramente non ho le competenze per scrivere una recensione su questo libro e sulla materia in sé. Peró ho scelto di leggerlo proprio per capire cosa fosse la sociologia della letteratura e quali nuovi punti di vista potesse offrirmi, al di fuori di tutti i soliti schemi della critica letteratia.
Ho scoperto che ci sono una serie di dati che non prendevo in considerazione come per esempio le case editrici e le traduzioni, tanto per dirne qualcuno.
Quindi se siete interessati ad una materia ancora poco conosciuta, che potrebbe fornirvi ulteriori punti di vista per una lettura piú approfondita di un libro, questo manuale é per voi, anche perché ben scritto e chiaro.
