A Gripping Psychological Thriller

Secrets create darkness. Darkness creates monsters.

Everything in Dakota Dale’s life was measured before and after Christian Salyer. He’d kidnapped and tortured her, leaving behind a broken body and damaged mind. She’d convinced herself she killed him, but her memory was flawed and she no longer knew what was real. She only knew she was desperate to find the truth.

Christian’s body was never found and the murders were starting again. Was Salyer still alive? Was Dakota following the trail of bodies, or were the bodies following her?

The answers were trapped behind the barriers she’d built in her mind. Until a faded photograph with a chilling message arrived on her doorstep.

What would you do to rescue your child from a sadistic serial killer that held you captive for over a year before you escaped? That is the question Dakota is forced to answer after surviving hellish captivity. The body count starts at 8 and steady starts to climb higher as she gets closer to the truth. Dakota is forced into a cat and mouse game she didn't begin. Only to face a mother's worst nightmare. Would she die for her?

Wowzers! I was horrified, amused, terrified, and sad in the space of 5 hours. I couldn't put this one down. Now I need to go find some true crime to read to settle myself down. Highly recommend!

WOW! Gripping, riveting, powerful ... there aren't enough adjectives to describe this tale of how far a mother will go to save her child .... and what a man will do to avenge his twin sister's torture and death.

Dakota Dale is a woman who has come back from the brink of insanity. Abducted by Christian Salyer, she was held for a year, tortured in unimaginable ways. She 'thinks' she shot and killed him ... but did she really? Christian's body was never found. Her memory is flawed .... and more women are dying.

Dakota is following the trail of bodies ... with one thing in mind. She will kill him .... he took something away from her besides her sanity .. he took her child.

Gabriel Browne lost his twin sister to the same monster who took Dakota. He doesn't believe Christian is dead ... and he wants to use Dakota as bait.

Well written, riveting story, unforgettable characters, with totally unpredictable ending ... this one checks all the boxes for me. My emotions were all over the place as the reader is taken back through Dakota's memories of what she endured .... and how she fought back. The ending totally blew me away.

Many thanks to the author for the digital copy of this psychological crime fiction. Read and reviewed voluntarily, opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own.

WOULD YOU DIE FOR HER is a gripping psychological thriller by New York Times and USA Today best-selling author, Linda S. Prather. This is a powerful and thought-provoking novel, and one that you will not forget too easily.

A chilling look at the secrets mothers will hide for the sake of their families, a mother’s love…a man’s thirst for revenge and the gruesome reality of what a mother will go through to save her child.

Dakota Dale's had been an officer who’d been kidnapped, tortured and almost murdered by her twin brother, Christian Salyer, a criminally insane and serial killer. She had been held for a year and he left behind a broken body and damaged mind. She'd convinced herself she killed him, but her memory was flawed and she no longer knew what was real. She only knew she was desperate to find the truth.

But this serial killer took more from her…he took her child…EMMA!

Dakota vowed to get her daughter back.

“He took my baby. I’m going to find her, no matter who I have to kill to do it. I’ll find Emma. This time, I’ll make sure he’s dead.”

Christian's body was never found and the murders were starting again. Was Salyer still alive?

Detective Gabriel Browne lost his twin sister, Colleen also to this serial killer, and doesn’t believe Christian is dead, and lures Dakota as bait to flush out the killer.

This was a powerful an emotional well-written novel with well-developed characters that come alive on the page. The ending was a complete surprise and not what I saw coming.

Would you die for her?

Loved it!

This is an outstanding thriller from NYT bestselling author Linda S Prather.

Dakota Dale was kidnapped but an unscrupulous villain. He tortured her and other women, when she refused to be compliant to his needs.

When she escaped, Dakota was under the impression she’d killed Christian Salyer, however because of the brutality behind his torture she’s unsure what to believe. Is her mind playing tricks on her or...

I really don’t want to say much more because every few pages yet another secret or astonishing plot twist is revealed, making this a page-turning read of the century.

In her search for the truth, Dakota teams up with her former partner and Gabriel who reveals a devastating secret of his own halfway through the book.

An incredible story which thriller fans will find an intriguing, edge of your seat read. Also loved the Jenna James short story as well.

Police officer Dakota Dale has been kidnapped and tortured leaving her broken, mentally and physically. She's trying to move on with her life by emotionally protecting herself then more women start to go missing.

This novel kept my interest throughout with the revelations of Dakota's ordeal, in conjunction with current events. As the tale unravels so does Dakota. Her relationship with the other main characters maintains and develops the reader's interest in the story and leaves you wanting more.

There are twists and turns throughout which left me sad at the end, but also left me with hope. A definite must read.

Thank you TBC Reviewer group for my copy of this novel

This is a really dark story with an extremely unpredictable ending. I did struggle with it though at times; the fast paced story that gradually unfolds sometimes left me confused & unsure of what was going on.
A well written story though on the whole, with lots of twists & turns, I'd be very interested to read more from this author.

Dakota has been through a terrible ordeal that has left her broken, both physically and mentally. In an effort to forget what happened to her she'd built walls to protect herself, but when other young women begin being treated like she was, she vows to track her tormentor down.

This book was perfectly paced. There was always something happening, something new discovered about what Dakota had been through. As the walls she built begin to crumble she wonders if she can trust herself. I really liked the four main protagonists, and also thought that the contradictions in Christian's personality were really well done.

As I got further and further into the book and found out Dakota's plans, I kept thinking (and hoping,) that surely that won't happen. But it did. This was a great read and I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fast paced, action packed and dark, crime thriller.

Dakota Dale has lived through Hell..She has been abducted, held captive..and broken down for a year. She believes she has killed a monster without a soul..until the killings begin again.Teamed up with Detective Gabriel Browne..a man who has his own reasons and interests in the case, Dakota has never left the past behind..for though she has blocked out much of what happened to her..she now has a reason to go on ..Fragile yet strong, Dakota believes the killer has something that belongs to her,and now she wants it back.So much so that she will go to the ends of Earth for it.With Max her partner, and Browne who keeps everything inside, Dakota must face her demons and prepare for the most difficult decision of her life..Heartwrenching emotive ,yet so very fast moving and dark..This book pulls at every emotion inside with an ending that took my breath away .For me the best book Linda S .Prather has ever written ..Stunning.

One of the best books I have read in a while. I love this author.

Dakota Dale is a Detective, but for the last 6 months she is on leave because of her mental state.
She was taken by one of the worst serial killers around. He kept her caged, tortured her almost every day and starved her, then when he was finished with her, he hung her by a tree. But, Dakota lived.

Detective Gabriel Browne, has come from New York to try to catch the serial killer, but he has other reasons. He wants to work with Dakota to find the killer.

I just loved this one, it was full of suspense, twist and turns and I didn't figure it out. Don't miss this one!

Awesome

If you like murder mystery books with something extra read this. It's not your reasonable murder mystery book. I cried close to the last chapter and by the last page I could hardly see. I ended up up rereading this book to see what I missed. The murders are inter woven over a vast time span but you dont find out these details due to several mental health issues. There was a lot of love built into this story but, also, quite a bit missing. I promise it's not just a romance novel with mystery woven into it. This lady writes some really good stories. I'm not being paid to write this but please give this book a chance, I think you will really like it.

What & absolute joy to sit down and read this author’s work.
Dakota Dale has a lot going on in her world, memories from her past which still haunt her and not knowing what is real and what is not, makes her doubt herself. Then the bodies start to mount up again and she’s not altogether sure if the same person who she thought was no longer alive, has begun to kill again.
I don’t know how this author manages to weave such a fantastic story which keeps me entranced to the very end. I’d highly recommend this book to any reader who enjoys a good thriller.

This amazing author never, ever disappoints me and after each book I think that it was the best one yet, and once again those are my thoughts.
Dakota Dale was kidnapped and tortured for a year by the sadistic Christian Salyer before she managed to get free. But free is something that is in Dakota's past and what remains is a damaged and broken soul.
This thriller is full of excitement and plenty twists that kept me on the edge of my seat throughout and I can't praise this book highly enough.

Dakota was going thru psychiatric support after she was kidnapped and held hostage by Salyer, a serial killer. Being Dakota was a cop. Actually, they didn't know if Dakota killed him or not. Max her partner at the time ended up in a wheelchair. Gabriel and she decided to figure out where the killer was. Dakota still thought of all she endured as hostage and that she gave birth to Emma. She was pregnant when he snatched her but Salyer did not know that. He kept the baby from her then. She swore she would do anything to get her daughter back. The ending was quiet a surprise to me.

What an ending!!

This is one hell of a book. The characters are flawed and the storyline backs up the characters perfectly. I was not expecting the ending to go as it did, but it fit very well with the build up of the story. There are not a lot of books written like this one. If you love a great twisted thriller then this is the book for you.

Wow

What a great book! This is more than a mueder/mystery/thriller/psychotic and more book. This one is on a whole new level! The heroine suffered tragically to the point that her brain split into more than one person. The main antagonist is totally unglued mentally. What transpires with this cover will have you reeling with each new twist and turn.
