The truth can set you free… or completely destroy you…
Morgan Allen has neither the time nor the patience for shenanigans. Running her wedding photography business by day and searching for new evidence in the cold-case death of her mother by night leaves no room in her life for much else. Too bad her infuriatingly charming videographer seems so intent on overwhelming her with shenanigans and forcing his way into her heart …
Luke Pierce has no idea why Morgan is so resistant to his charms. All he knows for sure is that he’s willing to do anything to change her mind about him—even if it means going against the deeply ingrained instincts that normally cause him to run from anything too complicated or emotional. Something tells him Morgan’s worth the effort… and the potential broken heart.
But just as Luke begins to win Morgan over—just as she begins to let him win her over—a dark secret surfaces, threatening to ruin everything they’ve built together. When all is said and done, will the truth Morgan’s been searching for destroy her chance at happily ever after with Luke?
In book two of the Westcott Bay series, return to San Juan Island and get the full story of Margie’s wedding planning, Jade’s new digs and Morgan’s shot at a happily ever after!
Amelia Addler is an author of feel-good romantic women's fiction stories. Her books focus on the importance of family, love and hope - all intermingled with romance and mystery. Her popular Westcott Bay series takes place on beautiful San Juan Island, just off the coast of Washington State, and offers an escape for readers and arm-chair travelers alike.
Amelia lives in Pittsburgh with her husband and little dog. When she's not writing, she's busy plotting trips to San Juan Island to see the killer whales, or explaining to people on hikes that her dog is not, in fact, a coyote.

Saltwater Studios: A Wescott Bay Novel Book 2 is by Amelia Addler. This book takes place on San Juan Island just off the coast of Washington state. Although she doesn’t go into quite the same detail about the island as she did in the first book, you still get a feel of the Northwest as you read. The setting of the story is not as important in this book as it was in the previous book. I did miss her descriptions about the island. She dealt more with the characters in this book and actually gave some of them a more rounded appearance in this book. You get a clearer picture of Jade and Morgan in this book. Morgan has returned to the island to take the photographer’s place as Jackie and her family were moving to Yellowstone. Morgan has taken over all of Jackie’s weddings and is determined to do a fantastic job. However, she isn’t as impressed with the videographer who will be making videos of some of the weddings. She met him on the ferry coming to the island and wasn’t impressed then. Since then, Luke hasn’t impressed her. However, when he manages to calm the wedding coordinator down and get her to allow Morgan to take the pictures she needed, she began to see a different side of Luke. Things were getting better between them and they started improving their backgrounds for photos. As their working together improves, so does their social life. However, if Morgan knew the secret that Luke carried, she would be very easily provoked. However, even Luke doesn’t know the secret he carries. It is just waiting on the edges of his mind to be illuminated so everyone would know.
Continuing saga of Morgan (found out she’s a half sister), Jade (gets divorced from crazy Brandon), Margie (the cute divorced mother who falls in love with the chief of police), and Luke (with the English accent that decides to stay in the island and solves the murder mystery). I rolled my eyes a lot but I did finish it.
"Saltwater Studios (A Westcott Bay Novel, Book 2)" by Amelia Addler continues Morgan Allen's story whom we met in Book 1 "Saltwater Cove." She is trying to move on with her life after the tragic hit and run that caused the death of her Mother. As her story comes to a close she learns that trust is something not far fetched. We are also meeting and getting to know other characters that will be in books further into the series.
Conclusion: The book was engaging and well written, I enjoyed reading it. Although, the plot was nothing fresh but it held on for me. The characters were nicely portrayed and had an impact on the storyline. I would recommend it.
Summary: The book revolves around quite a few characters mainly Morgan Allen, who has come to the island to experiment with her interests in photography. She rents a place with Jade, Margie’s daughter who is her step-sister or not (that was kind of confusing for me) as I am not well aware of the first book. Morgan is very ambitious and headstrong. She is a very straightforward person and has a very strong female presence. She starts working as a wedding photographer on the island also is searching for the person guilty of her mother’s unfortunate accident. When she first arrives at the island, she comes across Luke. Luke is our male protagonist. He is a guy next door, with all the chocolate boy traits to him. He is charming and a heartthrob. Luke is a wanderer and as Morgan says is trying to find himself. They both come together as Luke ends up being the wedding videographer helping Morgan. There isn’t instant love between the two but their stories somehow were meant to align as when Luke has a big part to play in the justice for Morgan’s mother's death. There are other characters like Luke’s Uncle Brock, Chief Hank, Margie and Mathew who have a story of their own going in parallel. The readers who haven’t read the previous book “Saltwater Cove” won’t be disappointed as the book has a fresh plot and all the characters are lined up.
Review: The book caught up pace from the beginning and the characters were all invested appropriately. Amelia did a good job of introducing the characters and every reader can find a different personality to be connected to. Be it ‘hot-headed’ Morgan, charming Luke or shy and awkward Jade. There is a cliché romantic track to the book but who doesn’t enjoy that? The character of Morgan would be loved by our feminists of this age as she is been portrayed as very headstrong, driven and very unapologetic about her values. Her character was my favorite because I as a reader could relate the most with her and loved how she was written. The male protagonist ‘Luke’ has a laid-back attitude and a witty sense of humor. he is very charming and made me smile a lot. He has an important role in the story and the climax. The end for me was kind of predictable and sudden. Maybe because I have read a lot of similar things or the story was losing track in some ways. I wish there was just some more to know about Morgan and Luke. Otherwise, the story was overall well written and held me on to it.

Morgan Allen is back in Westcott Bay trying to start her wedding photography business. She is excited to live with her step sister Jade and life couldn’t be better, that is until she meets Luke Pierce, the annoying, truth telling charmer. Luke Pierce is traveling the country and is trying to get his uncle to lend him some video equipment so he can make some cash, get out of town and continue his journey to find himself. That is until he meets Morgan Allen, the sweet, sassy, and beautiful wedding photographer. Is she worth staying in Westcott Bay a little longer? I adored this second book in the series by Amelia Addler. It’s funny, heartwarming and we get to find out who the mysterious woman was who killed Morgan’s mother along with hearing some wedding bells! I loved seeing Morgan returning to the island and catching up with the characters from the first book. Another hit from Amelia Addler and now I am off to continue the story with Saltwater Secrets.
Someone get these people a trampoline for all the jumping to conclusions they do!
Morgan, just admit that you like Luke and stop acting like a noid around him and stop pushing him away. The two can be a power couple in photography/videography if they’d both stop lying to themselves.
Jade, you are deserving of love from another person. You deserve happiness especially after being married to the schmuck Brandon. Jade is self-sabotaging. Steve is a good guy and obviously likes her, so she should give him a chance.
Margie, who cares what your fiancés daughter says about you? Her mother has been deceased over a year now and that is a perfectly respectable amount of time for her father to move on. He deserves happiness.
And Amanda… brat.
But, everything works out in the end and the unsolved crime gains new footing. Morgan relates to Amanda, so she begins to try at breaking Amanda’s wall of meanness down.
Next is Saltwater Secrets (Westcott Bay Novel Book 3)
Morgan Allen returns to San Juan Island to start her own photography business, taking over from a mentor who is moving to follow her husband. The mentor leaves behind Luke, a videographer who has recently come to the island. Morgan is so preoccupied with learning who killed her mother on the island the year before that she struggles with being sociable, to say nothing of relationships. Luke’s down-to-earth approach is a good match for Morgan. The main characters were engaging and the story kept my interest throughout. There were several different point-of-view characters which was sometimes confusing and distracting. Otherwise, this was a great read! I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This series is based in the San Juan Islands. Margie is gifted a larege house by her brother and she wants to turn it into an event center as well as provide a home for her 3 adult children. In book #1, her family expands when a young woman, Morgan, comes into her life - a product of her husband's infidelity decades before. This book follows Morgan, who is intent on finding the person who is responsible for the hit-and-run death of her mother a year before.
What I didn't like in this book is Morgan. Yes, she is grieving but she is an irresponsible, impulsive and selfish young woman who rarely thinks before she acts - and that typically leads to more problems. There was no sex or profanity, for which I was thankful. I will read the next book despite my dislike for Morgan.
Cozy mystery and contemporary romance? Sure! Fabulous characters and intriguing story line. Morgan and Luke have lots of chemistry as they collide almost everywhere they go. Can they work together taking pictures and videos of weddings on the Island? Or will their differences tear them apart? Will chief and Jade's mom get married? Find out in this fast paced story:) plus, will Morgan ever find out who killed her mom? I highly recommend this book! Happy Reading!
Morgan is obsessed with finding out who killed her mother in a hit and run. Luke is a videographer who has signed on to help at weddings that Morgan has taken over from another photographer, but he is annoying to Morgan. Chief's daughter still grieves for her mother who died 2 years before and puts a damper on Chief's marriage to Margie. Jade is going through rough negotiations with Brandon in their divorce. How will it all work out? Read the second book in the Westcott Bay series to find out. As for me, I am heading for book 3.
Story of Morgan, about a year after book 1. She returns and meets Luke a nomadic videographer. She's still on the hunt for her mom's killer, but she's also trying to maintain a business that she takes over and work the wedding circuit. She meets Luke and does not like his carefree ways.
I'm starting to realize that this is very Hallmark mysteries but with little character development.
We eventually learn who killed her mother and we watch Jade start the process of divorce and meet Matthew, the new cop on the island.
Well where to start. I'll go to the good things first. The coastal backdrop is interesting, and easy to follow along with. The writing and editing is really quite good, the storyline is fluid from one book to the next. On the down side the characters are part of the me generation, Morgan for one is arrogant to the point of being obnoxious, Jade is so mousey that she is all most invisible. The fact is most of the characters are not the kind of people I would enjoy spending time with. On the up side again I'm going to read on. Go figure.
This was a good story. It told old of Morgan retuning to Saltwater Cove and her new job as a photographer for weddings and events. Luke was videographer and part of the business that Morgan was acquiring. Part of this story continues on about Morgan’s mother being a hit and run and her death. You will enjoy this story and how Luke and Morgan become great working partners.
Closure is sweet after a loss of any desirable state.
Saltwater Cove is a place for new beginnings! It gives hope and new dreams to those visiting there. The beautiful scenery and kind nature of the residents allows newcomers to be settled and feel at home fast. Nurturing communities thrive as the world marches past. Settle down with these stories and grow to love the characters within.
Quirky behavior from both Morgan and Luke keep you interested in the second book of the Westcott Bay series by Amelia Addler. Morgan returns to San Juan Island with the hopes of solving the whodunit of her mother's murder while pursuing her love for photography. Luke is hanging out while he ponders what to do with his life. The connection between the pair is twofold and will keep you turning the pages.
This continued the story from the first book. I enjoyed the story as new characters were introduced and characters we met in her first story were still a part of the continuing story of Morgan and her search for her mom’s killer. Of course there was much more going on than that. I can’t wait to read the next book and follow the stories in this ongoing series of books.
I like the characters and the story but it needs a little more spice and drama. The ex husband Brandon threatening Jade scene…. The two attorneys in the room and even Jade were all too calm for the scene. Needed a little bit more heat for the words. I was like “really, why is everyone so calm about this!?” I love Morgan! She’s the only one that seems to take matters with her feelings and tries to take care of business!

Saltwater Studios is a Fun, witty, sweet romance with some suspense. I truly enjoyed reading about these two characters. Its wonderful written and a good storyline. Its a page turner. Kept my interest throughout the story. I read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are of my own.
Wow!! I love this book. The series riveting. The storyline is awesome and the characters Intriguing especially Morgan. Her crazy antics add a zest to the story. This book and series are highly recommended. Reading the books in order adds an extra dimension to the series.
Morgan’s story is very different than most. She is searching for the murderer of her mother. In the process, she meets Luke, a British gentleman running to find himself. Together they make a photography business successful. But there is much more going on in this story! You will enjoy this read!
I enjoyed the second book by Amelia Addler . The steady flow from picking up where the first book left off and rapping up the hit and run death of Morgan's mother's and ending the book with Margie and chief Hank's wedding . I really like small island towns or small town based books you might think nothing ever goes on but your wrong .
Another great read in this series. The characters are all so different but yet they mesh. Loved the intrigue of the cold case and how the things that came up led you in the right direction. I was sure Brock was the guilty party and in a way he still was. Can't wait to read more about Jade and Matthews story.
This is the second book that I have read by this author. I'm so happy to have found her. She writes great books. I love how well she introduces and develops her characters. I really enjoyed reading this book. It was wonderful. I definitely recommend Amelia Addled and this book.
It is an interesting story but it is like a serial in the fact that it is the same people in every book. It was hard for me to catch since I did not read the previous books. I recommend Saltwater Studios by Amelia Addler, a clean romance
Saltwater Studios is a great addition to the series Westcott Bay. Another entertaining romance set on San Juan Island in the Pacific. I enjoyed revisiting characters from the previous book and meeting new ones. Looking forward to reading more books in this series.
