A nicely messed up story from the YA-er range of the genre. Q: This is the first time that someone doesn't believe my cover, and I'm really taking offense because my cover is my true identity. How fucked up is that? You mean I couldn't play me convincingly? (c) Q: Bombs I could defuse just fine, no problem, but this? Normal social interaction? No thanks. (c) Q: I'm starting to have serious thoughts if this is George West playing mind games with me. (c) Q: Occasionally, the conversation would drift over to me but I've had entirely too much practice on how to remove the focus from myself so I sit and watch contently as everyone talked and caught up (c) Q: I guess that's the thing with normal. It's nice for a few hours, a few days, probably a few years, but eventually I'd get bored with it. I already am. (c) Q: "CIA file, remember?" He says sheepishly. "Right, of course," I say, properly creeped out, although if he finds out about what I know about him, he'd probably freak the fuck out more. Q: He's still busy talking to that guy, his neighbor. They look like they're having a really enthusiastic discussion about… spy movies? Really? Is the universe fucking kidding me? I totally fucking hope my lip-reading has just gone rusty and I misread their lips somehow because this just seems like a really bad joke. (c) Q: Really, what do you say to the person who has always believed you even though you're not telling the whole truth? (c) Q: ... at the moment I don't really quite care about that. I'm very good at compartmentalization (or repression, if you're a glass half-empty kind of person), so I'm kind of very focused on only one thing for now. (c) Q: I'm suddenly seized by the overwhelming desire to remember that particular time in my life too. Even just a glimpse would be fine. (c)
Some bad editing (quite a lot! I'm just entirely too lazy to quote it all here): Q: It doesn't really matter thought because no one seems notice apart from me... (c) etc etc etc
I have to question how quickly Parker pushed to get this book out, as the editing was dreadful. The book is full of grammatical errors. That said, I loved the story line. Would not be surprised if someone notices and a possible movie evolves from this book. Very enjoyable read.
This has to be the worst written book I've ever read You need a proof reader to fix the grammatical mistakes that run throughout the book. Just about every page has mistakes. It drove me nuts.
I Choose this rating within the group of Kindle Unlimited books. However I would rate this one a 3.5 when you consider all the great books. I enjoyed it as a great summer beach read and would rate as a 4.
