About the author

Chiara Piazzesi is Full Professor of Sociology at the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM), Canada. Born in Florence, Italy, she received her education at the prestigious Scuola Normale Superiore di Pisa and at the Università del Salento, where she earned her PhD. She has taught and done research in France, Germany, and Brazil before moving to Canada to start her career at UQAM, in Montreal, in 2013. Her research interests span love relationships, feminist issues, gender relations, digital practices, and the place of beauty in women’s lives. Trained in philosophy and sociology, she has published several books, peer reviewed articles, book chapters, and participated in many international conferences and events. Chiara is strongly committed to disseminating ideas and knowledge among the general public, and she has well-established contacts with some of the biggest media outlets in Canada. Se siete alla ricerca di un approfondimento del pensiero di Nietzsche che non soffra di semplicismi da un lato, ne sia un susseguirsi di sfoggio lessicale e volontà di citazione (tipico spesso dei nostri cattedratici) dall’altro, vi consiglio questo libro di Chiara Piazzesi. Penso sia adatto per chi ha una conoscenza di base, senza essere specialista e vuole approfondire i temi più importanti. Grazie all’autrice per questo ottimo lavoro.

Consigliatomi personalmente da un professore universitario di filosofia, la considero una grandiosa introduzione a Nietzsche. Esaustiva e accessibile, pur rimanendo un lavoro più tecnico che divulgativo. Mai superficiale ma neanche una brodaglia di filosofese. Caldamente consigliato
