Emilia lives with her mother and sister in Ohio. The winters are harsh and she is always sick she has difficulty breathing. Her father died in a mental hospital and she doesn’t know the whole story of how he was locked up. A few months later they tried to get him out but they said he was being treated and couldn’t be released yet. He dies after that and the people in Emilias area call her names, she isn’t suffering from mental illness she has difficulty with her lungs. Her mother decides it is for the best to send her to live with her sister in Texas.

Derek was engaged to marry, but she left him for someone with more money. He’s past is hard, his father did something wrong and Derek decides he doesn’t want that in his life so he moved to Texas and built a ranch and home, he helps out a widower and her children, they’re he meets a frail woman who seems to remember him being cruel to her, only it wasn’t him.

Great story, I enjoyed how the author combines two people in this book who fall in love, not just the main characters but the cousin as well, I’ll stand by my opinion as when the author adds a little extra content to her website she just needs to add it into the book as well, it wasn’t like she is adding a entire chapter it’s only the ending of the story.

ONE PULSE POUNDING DELIGHT!!!
Amazing! Lorelei unleashes one fantastic, block busting bombshell sending this baby into a tizzy, racing through a vortex chocked full of vexing contingents fusing this baby together flawlessly. Meting out incredible, well rounded scenario's that punch dead center with such intensity and precision, thrusting this baby into a tailspin with stunning results. An awesome storyline and gripping plot keeps you on the edge of your seat as everything falls into place with such perfection it leaves you craving more. Drama, distress, turmoil, betrayal, deceit, secrets and suspense mounts as tension spirals. The chemistry builds as each layer is peeled back exposing a growing bond and amplifying affections that catapult this jewel to life flawlessly. The characters are authentic and realistic with qualities and traits that blend into amazing personalities. The scenes are so colorfully descriptive it paints an elaborate backdrop that makes the storyline pop. Outstanding job Lorelei, thanks for sharing this little guy with us.

Feminism and mental health

As a person from the medical field, my heart just broke with the asylum situation. Not my particular forte, but I do know that the practices back then are barbaric. The stigma and misconceptions...those broke my heart too. Unfortunately, even if the mental health situation has grown in leaps and bounds, societal stigma and misconceptions are still rampant. Then with regards to feminism, I’m more than thankful with how different society is now (well sort of depending on how you look at it). I loved the story because the subtle message resounded loud and clear where the additional message of hope can help overcome anything. This was also a story of second chances. It was a profound story that I’m sure I’ll reread again sometime in the future with a cup of tea or coffee.

An Enduring Love to Heal Her

I received an ARC of this book from the author, Lorelei Brogan, and this is my voluntary and honest review. This is an exciting western romance between Emilia and Derek in a small town in Texas. It is also the tale of how two sets of twin boys interact with each other when one set is raised by parents who love them and the other set is raised by unloving parents. Overall, I enjoyed this book especially the part where two young woman get trapped in a burning cabin wondering if they would make it out alive and unharmed. You will have to read the book to find out. It is a great book.

I have high expectations when I get a Lorelei Brogan book and this book filled those expectation. We have the sickly Emilia, we have Derek and his evil twin, we have mental illness and the stigma that was so prevalent at this time and you have to add in the romance of George and Lily. Emilia's mother shows extreme love when she sends her daughter to Texas to live with her sister. There was so much to enjoy in this book. I recommend it.

Great storyof learning to trust

This is story of two young people who learn to trust in others and themselves. While Emelia's trust issues stem from how people treated her in Ohio and learning to adapt the a new way of life In Texas. To Derek who's been rejected by his fiance and disappointed in past problems with his family. Both learn to trust each and to move on from the hurts of the past, especially when it comes time to face it head on.

A Wonderful Story of a young woman finding the courage to trust in her own judgement.

It is an important time in a person's life when they must reassess what is most important. For a young person basically all on their own it is hard to choose between a life they know and something new and out of their comfort zone. Lorelei Brogan does a great job in dealing with this for her lovely main character!

Emilia Johnson finds herself moving to the warmth of Texas to see if it helps heal her. When she stays with her aunt she meets Derek Stevens, a friend of her aunt. Derek ran away from his past in Ohio and Emilia was sent from Ohio to Texas because her health was failing there. Coming to Texas not only healed her body but it led her to love. Such a sweet, clean, romantic read!

First Book Read

This is the first book I read by Lorelei Brogan. She did not disappoint. I love the fact that she included the issues of mental health and imperfect family members in the love story. Amelia and Derek had to face their own past to move on to a future together. I will definitely read more books by Lorelei Brogan

This is several stories in one book. Emilia and Lily had both endured ridicule at the hands of others. Derek had endured the evil of his twin brother blamed on him. This was a wonderful, emotional story that will keep you engaged.
