Note: I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I had issues with the hero and how he chased after the heroine, and not recognizing how bloody forceful and non-consenting he looked.

Excuse me, I am not for that. Although the writing was addictive, the characters (separately) were something to be fond of, I hated how their romance started.

And that's pretty much my review. Since, their romance had been the big reason for me to hate them together, everything else forgotten in the distance.

Until the next read,

[1.5 star] book was okay, however i feel there is much history or background on both hero and heroine. also, i don't get their occupation either, not enough explanation.

Another great first book in a new series by Ms. Eaton. You will love how Alex and Lexi meet! It is so funny. Lexi’s older neighbor is a hoot too. It broke my heart to hear what Lexi lost and that she isn’t really living her life. I loved her best friend’s humor and how she is always there for Lexi. Alex is attracted to Lexi, but she keeps trying to give him the cold shoulder. I was glad to see Alex made headway with Lexi. Alex’s daughter is a real sweetheart, and I loved her interaction with Lexi and Alex. There are some tense moments that kept me on the edge of my seat! I can’t wait for the next book in the series. I strongly encourage you to read the book. I was given a copy of the book and voluntarily wrote a review.

All I can say is Wow, what a great book. So much emotion and a great story. Loved the way it started out with Alex getting a package he thought was for him until he opened. Once he opened it, he realized there must be some mistake, imagine his surprise when he sees a name so close to his but a different apt number. So he does what he should and delivers it to the right house.

Lexi always meets her friend Clare on Tuesdays but Clare decides to mail her present to Lexi instead of bringing it with her to the bar. When Lexi is talking to Clare on the phone and Alex shows up at her apt to give her the package, Clare starts laughing really hard and Lexi just wants to disappear.

A really great story that you will laugh and cry both through the book.

The great plot was beautifully written, and the characters were so well developed that as I turned each page the chemistry between the characters kept me totally hooked until the very last page!

This is a sweet romance with charming characters, a chance meeting due to a mistaken delivery, humour, family, and romance.

A fun romance Alex opens Lexis package in error, their lives become intertwined. An easy, warm fuzzy, heart warming, cheesy smile feeling story. This book delivers happiness, first in the series.

Alexander Miller and Alexandra Miller (what are the chances) both answer to "Alex" and live in the same apartment building. What can go wrong?! When Alex opens the mail intended for Lexi, they have a most hilarious first meet-cute. What better way to introduce yourself to your neighbor by saying, "I think our mail got mixed up because I didn't order this vibrator." Oops! Alex is definitely interested in Lexi and she might be ready for a relationship, again. She lost both her boyfriend and brother in the military and she's been slow-walking through life, but Alex pushes her boundaries and has her thinking that there might be something there. I have to admit that I had a hard time getting into the story because the storyline was fairly thin. As much as I adored Alex, I had a hard time connecting with Lexi. She was whiny, woe-is-me, pity party and her treatment of Alex was reprehensible. She was so "afraid" that he'd die overseas that she had to break up with him and break his heart? Her fatalism was the last straw and I really didn't care if Alex came back to her. I am glad there was a HEA, but I wasn't as invested in it as I normally am with a Stacy Eaton story. This really is a one-off. Haven R. Powers does a wonderful job with the narration. Her clear voice, with excellent intonation and dynamic delivery, gives each character a unique personality and attitude as they come to life.

Unexpected Packages by Stacy Eaton is a charming, heartwarming contemporary romance about second chances, new beginnings, and the delightful surprises life sends when we least expect them.

Lexi Miller restarted her life five years ago and has been living a regimented routine ever since. With a great job and a best friend who tries everything to get her to break out of her boring life, it's not until her birthday present arrives at her door opened by a stranger that things finally start to get interesting.

Alex Miller is ready for his second career after retiring from the military. Excited to start training contractors in safety issues and reconnect with his daughter after years away, he doesn't expect to become a delivery man. When a package addressed to him shows up on his doorstep, he kindly delivers it to the rightful owner only to discover she's the beautiful woman he's been catching peeks of around the building.

From misunderstandings to new beginnings, Alex and Lexi come together in a sweet, slow-burn romance. But when a business trip threatens their future right before Valentine's Day, neither is sure they will ever be reunited. Perfect for fans of contemporary romance with military heroes, relatable heroines, and the kind of love that arrives when you least expect it.

Lexi has been merely existing for the past few years. Her best friend keeps encouraging her to live a little, and not to completely give up on having fun. When a delivery mix-up brings her face-to-face with Alex Miller, she feels instantly attracted, but because love and all other related things are not in the forefront of her mind, she quickly dismisses him. Yet, they happen to cross paths repeatedly, and the sparks between them quickly multiply, causing her to wonder if she could have just a little fun without her heart getting involved.

Alex has just a few goals now that he's out of the military, but falling for his neighbour wasn't high on the list until he locked eyes with her outside her door after returning her parcel. Despite her initial prickliness, he is confident that she likes him just as much as he likes her. Now, he can't imagine himself without Lexi as he navigates the new path his life has taken. But will his obligations turn things ugly before they get a chance to properly love each other?

I liked this read. Alex & Lexi's meet-cute was funny, and the role her best friend played was great, too. If you're looking for a book evenly balanced with sweetness, drama & friendly banter, this is it.

I voluntarily read & reviewed an ARC of this book.

3.5ish

I was immediately drawn in at the beginning with the package mishap. I'm a sucker for some charismatic teasing and light humor. I also love the background of the characters and the implications of what they've been through and are still working through. Pulling all of that together, I found this an enjoyable read. I also like the mention of age-- the female main is 33 years old (my age group!) and I felt connected to her struggles and the support of her friends to "up her game" so to speak ;)

But- ***SPOILER***

I despise that they were so nonchalant about having unprotected sex. Like, "oh no, we didn't use protection. it's okay though, we both want kids anyway. wait, is this smart? ...okay. still okay." SO EARLY IN THE RELATIONSHIP. They weren't even in an established couple at this point. they liked each other "a lot." Why was this not a bigger deal? There wasn't even a plan to get Plan B. And Alex already had a kid. This just seemed soooo careless.

Also, it's a big turnoff for me when people call each other "baby." Objectively, I recognize this to be a term of endearment but it does irk me to the point that I instinctively want to put the book down.

Otherwise, though, fine. I liked the book.

Unexpected Packages
The Unexpected Series, Book 1
By: Stacy Eaton
Narrated by: Haven R Powers

This is a pleasure to listen to! I have listened to all of what Stacy Eaton has to offer, and this book is a little different from her others. That is what I love about her! Lots of versatility and the stories are always fun and exciting! This one started off with a bang of a meet cute! Laughing at the situation, it certainly broke the ice with Alex and Lexi! And now the interest in each other begins. Alex is just getting to know his daughter as he begins a new life post military, but it doesn't keep him out of danger. Lexi is hesitant with starting a relationship, and Alex's job is definitely a downer when it comes to making choices. But feelings are still growing! Where does it all go? With some laughing, crying and suspense, you too can find out how it all plays out. With Clare, Lexi's friend keeping things light and real, this book is a winner!

Haven R Powers gives us this story with a wonderful narration. Each feeling is felt, great comedic timing and building suspense, I was hooked til the very end.

Living life in the shadows after the death of both her brother and her boyfriend, Lexi copes by putting one foot in front of the other and blocking out the pain. Receiving a package of questionable contents is bad enough, but discovering that said package has already been opened by her neighbour bearing the same name, is beyond embarrassing. The story starts off on a hilarious note, bringing together two people who are meant for one another, but when threatened with loss all over again, Lexi backs away from emotional involvement. This novel is well written and fairly spicy in parts. Alex is a charming hero whose sense of humour draws Lexi in, and despite his past, he longs for the chance to prove to Lexi that they belong together. Lexi's fear of loss and abandonment is very real, and must surely be experienced by many military wives. I enjoyed this novel, laughing out loud in parts and feeling the pain as the tension built. Although part of a series this book is a standalone and comes to a happy conclusion.

Oh the laughs you will have while reading this book, Lexi has become a hermit due to tragedy and basically just works and sleeps apart from the one night her best friend Clare gets her to meet for drinks, however all this changes when a package for her from Clare turns up at another person in her building who happens to also be Alex Miller. Alex and Lexi meet in the most hilarious way and then the banter they have from there is great as they both need some laughter in their lives and the spark between them is undeniable, so when Lexi embraces Nica as soon as she meets her well your heart melts. Throw in Alex's dangerous job and a budding relationship long with the want to be there more for his daughter and you get one heck of a page turner that has yo hooked and needing the next book in the series!!

The way these two meet is hilarious and absolutely embarrassing. The strength of the these two characters is amazing, and the chemistry between them draws them quickly together. Also living in the same apartment building helps. Lexi needs to learn to accept the way people are and understand who Alex is as a person, before rejecting him for having to go overseas. I found I did not like this aspect of Lexi's character. She has the best of all possible men in front of her and she's going to throw it all away because of his job. This story is heartbreaking in places, but right around the middle is when this story goes from hilarious and takes on a very serious tone. In the end, it actually changes writing style with this tone change. This is unexpected, because I've read a lot of Stacy Eaton's stories and none ever ended with this serious of a climax.

What a great read by Stacy Eaton. I felt for Lexi Miller once I found out about the tragedy she had gone through in her life to make her not really live her life for 5 years. Alex Miller is a former military man who works for a small security firm who happens to live in Lexi’s building. (Her name is Alexandra Miller by the way). Due to a mix up on packages, Lexi and Alex meet for the first time and they are both attracted to each other. However the package sent to Lexi from her best friend is hilarious and Alex is quick to offer any assistance necessary. Lexi is embarrassed and now doesn’t want to face him. Very cute story with some laughter, lots of emotions, potential messy situations and passion. I cannot wait to read the nest story in this series and learn more about Alex’s teammates. Funny with sexiness, a tad of a drama and love ! Fate decided that Alex and Lexi would be given the same name , a mutual immediate attraction but also a past haunted by people they cared about. Alex is ready to settle down and find the one person made for him. Lexi doesn't see it coming at first but meeting her neighbor will bring her more than love and more than she expected out of her new life.
Lexi really entertained me ; her situation is so funny at first that it gives the story just a little bit of sweetness well balanced with the upcoming drama.
I enjoyed this quick HEA story.

I unexpectedly loved "Unexpected Packages" by Stacy Eaton. This is the first book I've read by this author having received a complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review. I tend to be a picky reader. I don't like books that seem to be another recycled version of a popular storyline. This book grabbed me with the meet-cute right in the beginning and took me on an emotional rollercoaster until the very end. I laughed, I stayed up late because I didn't want to put it down and of course I cried ugly snot tears at certain parts. Everything I love in a book. This is a great book to add to your collection - well worth it. Personally, I can't wait to see what is next for this series.
Happy Reading...enjoy!

uick, easy, fun, and steamy. Those are the words I would use to describe the first book in a new series by Stacy Eaton. I started reading on a cold winter day. I was looking for characters I could relate to, a story I could lose myself in, and something that I did not have to concentrate really hard on. Unexpected Packages is the perfect book for that. I read it in one sitting, enjoyed the story, and loved the romance.

I was left wondering about the secondary characters. I am happy to say that Stacy Eaton is going to continue this series with more about the other characters in the book. I am excited to learn more about these wonderful characters and learn about their lives.

Unexpected Packages is the first book in the Unexpected series. It's Well written, entertaining, hit you night in the feels, steamy, with a little humor mixed in there too. Lexi has been living the last five years living life on autopilot. Her friend Clare's always trying to live a little. When Clare's birthday gift to Lexi gets delivered to Alex by accident it gives Clare and Alex amusement but Lexi is mortified. Their relationship is a whirlwind one but Alex's job maybe the undoing for their new relationship. Will Lexi allow the past to mess up her future? I cant wait to read the next book in this series.

Lexi was sent a birthday gift delivered from her friend Clare. It unfortunately was sent to the wrong apartment. Her neighbor was leaving the package at her door, when she opened it. When she realized he opened it, he comes to tell her they share the same name. Once inside her apartment, Lexi opens the package and to her suprise sees what her friend Clare has sent her. Lexi is now totally embarrassed knowing Alex has seen the content of the package. Their relationship moves fast. I love how they both know what they want. Neither of them hold back their feelings. This is an amazing start to a new series. You definitely will love this story.

“Sigh”. Yes, this is a happy every after story, but it doesn’t get there without a few ups and downs. I laughed and I cried. This book has some of the most hilarious scenes. It also has those tearjerker moments. You probably will need a box of tissues with this one. Ms. Eaton, as always, has you on the edge of your seat and not wanting to put the book down. This is one of the sweetest books of Stacy’s, but it just reached out to me. I loved this story.
Whether it’s paranormal, sweet & sassy, heart wrenching, or edgy, Stacy Eaton can put you right in the story and make you a part of it. I always feel like these characters are my best friends.

Nothing funnier than having the same name as your sexy neighbor! Oh, wait yes there is…when he mistakenly receives and opens your birthday gift from your BFF! Alex “aka Lexi” Miller meets said sexy neighbor, ex-military man Alex Miller when he gives her the gift that he accidently received. Why is that funny? Let’s just say that they are no ordinary gifts! Not looking for romance, especially not with someone who was in the military, Lexi gives and goes out with Alex. Things are going good for them until Alex’s new job requires him to go overseas in a war zone and Lexi breaks up with him. Great read to find out what happens next!

Unexpected Packages by Stacy Eaton is the first book in The Unexpected Series and definitely worth reading if you love spicy romances with just the right amount of humor.
It was Lexi's birthday and her friend sent her a package that got delivered to her neighbor by mistake. Alex loved the fact that the package was delivered to him because without it they might not have met and he was more than interested in getting to know Lexi better and to see where their mutual attraction would lead them.
I'm definitely looking forward to reading more books in this series!

I was given an ARC from the author/publisher. All conclusions are mine and mine alone.

What happens when two people named A. Miller meet for the first time? A lightning bolt of desire. Alexander Miller accidentally got Alexandra Miller’s package. Alex drops a wrongly delivered package at her door, and the book just takes off from there. You will love this book. Their attraction is immediate, sparking like fire, and you would think they had known each other their entire lives the way they just seem to “know“ each other. Excellent storyline. Extra excellent story writing. Incredible characters. Surprises all around. Drama that will break your heart but hang on for that happily ever after ending. It is wonderful. Great book.

I started reading this book just to get an idea of what it was about and couldn’t put it down! Before I knew it, I was halfway through the book. It started out making me laugh and immediately caught my attention because it’s one of those books that you end up reading really fast because you can’t wait to see what happens next. I loved the characters. Alex and Lexi just seemed to fit together well even with their unique beginning, and instead of making this book all about the negative, the author chose to follow their attraction. It made for a very entertaining read.

Reading about the intense feelings in this book, hurt, rejection,  abandoned, loss, forgotten, I welcomed the trials, the emotional drama that follows it. Then there's the  unexpected passion from neighbors.
The chemistry between the Alex and Lexi is undeniable and unexpected. The heartbreak of the past lead to a bit of  wasted time. A bit of drama at work. Connecting with the characters may come easy in this story, following the plot might not be as easy,  it is all over the place, humorous, emotional, dramatic
