For my scientific mind it seems to be a bucket of nonsense. Actually, the author admits that at the very beginning: "There is no scientific proof for what I advance in this book". That is very fair, because later she says that reincarnation is a normal thing. And we are all GOD. Nice. So, I would normally stop reading, but I found this book thanks to an article on a Polish web page, where the wounds and masks proposed by L. Bourbeau were described logically, without referring to reincarnation or GOD, so I kept reading. And... they still somehow make sense in some weird way, if you read the whole book, so maybe she is right (just far ahead of science) or at least this theory can be somehow useful for some people. The only serious problem with this book is that throughout first 85% of text it promises to give you instructions how to heal each wound, but what you finally get is a general advice applicable to every wound, kind of "Just be gentle to yourself and others". Ah... and for sure buy my other books and take part in my 2-day seminar in Canada. So... No idea how many stars to give to such phenomena. Let's take 3 just randomly...
The negative reviews seem to focus on the language - I'd look past that and see how this resonates with you. For me I could identify intimately with nearly every single emotion at one time or another and it makes complete sense - including some of the ways my body has changed over the years - I don't care what her sources are I see it in my own life - especially considering what I was going through at those times. These five wounds also resonate intimately and they match up with truth wherever it's found. The Enneagram, mystical texts, Jung, Freud - elements of all can be found intermingled between them and this. For me it was right place, right moment, right book.
I didn't think that I could read every single flaw of mine in a book written by a person who has no idea who I am. I actually felt attacked.
All human beings suffer from wounds, whether they would admit it or not. The capability of simply acknowledging your wound(s) is something so terrifying and traumatizing. This is the perfect book to help you understand why you're hurting and what's the cause. It's written in clear description. I highly recommend this for people who are constantly on the rise to find their true self and accept their problems.
A good friend of mine recommended this book for me , and at first i was so excited (as a big fan of psychologie)I even decided to give it 5 stars from the very first pages but slowly i felt dissapointed and I disagree with lots of the author's beliefs. ***First: she kept saying "we have [come back to earth ] to heal this type of wound" and that we "choose our parents and the circumstances of our birth" to live certain experience and contact our wounds from our previous lifes and that we are all GOD !!! Well that make no sense .. a story like this can maybe be told in a fairy tale for children not in a book that discuss human mind! There is no previous life... we didn't choose our family and when we were born .. we were like a white paper with no past and nothing ! ***second, 'some' of the physical characteristics for each wound does not make sense ... for exple when describing people with injustice wound she said "They have clear skin and bright, lively eyes." Then added "Their jaws are often clenched and their necks are stiff, proudly held upright, and you can often see their veins sticking out." Seriouslyy!?? ... so we can just throw the genetic science in the garbage because your skin color is a mask for your wound.... I may buy the idea that the eye of a withdrawer are "fearful or give the impression that there’s a mask around the eyes." But saying that s.o skin is related to anything else but melanine is just not acceptable. ***Third, Describing all the possible illness for each wound is just an "auuuuuuugh" . What's tha magical link between cancer and rejection or how rigid people " may also suffer from TORTICOLLIS (WRYNECK) because they have difficulties seeing all the aspects of a situation that they consider unfair" ??? well science has no idea but ask Lise Bourbeau she has the answer!! ***Fourth, I waited to the end just to discover the cure for each wound but instead the writer repeated -in the "Healing the wounds and transforming the masks" chapter -all what she have mentioned before and just kept saying that you have to accept your wound to heal ( oh really !! U didn't need 20 pages to say that! ) and also u have to buy her other book to find the answer (well ; guess not) ***Finally, this book have maybe some good information about each personality but the author filled it with a lot of nonsense that make you lose the compass.

Repetitive in a good way giving you a good insight. Great first book for anyone looking forward to realise his childhood fragments in his adult character and be aware of why he is what he is. Must read.
Mi-a plăcut că am găsit continuarea cărții "Cele 5 răni".
Heal Your Wounds & Find Your True Self is an interesting, useful and an eye opener book for those who are looking forward to realize their childhood fragments in their adult character and to acknowledge their wounds yet it does not give tips on how to heal them unfortunately (I found that the last chapter is just a summary of the types reviewed previously, no useful tips to help healing) but the book can still help us realize so much about our psyche and physique. Personally, I found many useful ideas that really helped me see myself from a different angle, and as we all go through several wounds and cope differently, it opened eyes to be more compassionate for people, be less judgmental, more understanding and accept circumstances around us that we have no control over. I had no idea that the mind-body-soul connection can be so strong that our physical bodies can carry our scars and show exactly what kind of traumas we have experienced. So basically if we change our mindsets our bodies can change too. Overall, this is a good book that has to be read several times in order to be fully understood and applied.
Coraz to ciekawsze pozycje dotyczące rozwoju osobistego i duchowego wpadają w moje łapki. I ta do nich należy. Choć te same wydarzenia mogą u różnych osób utworzyć różne rany.
I started the book with over excitement and the beginning of the book was so interesting and exciting. I believe that some books needs to be ready before you start reading it (psycologically). I am not sure that I was ready for it. But I don't think the book meets the first impresion that I got or even give me what I waited for. but to be honest there was 2 factors that made me decide to read it once again. The first that I read it while I was reading 2 other novels and I was immersed in them so I didn't give it my full concentration. And the other thing that I read it online and I think this book much better to be read as hard-copy. The author concentrate how the psychology diseases affected the way we look. I didn't agree with many points but maybe I give another review another time.
I started this book after a eureka moment I recently had about the signals my body was giving me. I guess at a certain age everyone starts understanding and appreciating what they're made of, or at least I'm inclined to think so. I needed some insight on how our wounds are reflected on our bodies and how the body urges us to heal them. First of all, it's not science and should be read with reserve. With those of you who, like me, don't get excited by the reincarnation theories, this short read might raise some brows. But there are some useful insights... Bourbeau speaks about the five types of masks/ behaviours that we put on when one (or more than one) wound is awakened, usually in the first five years of our lives. So far, so good. The best way to find a mask/ wound, is to detect it in our body, our appearance, our most recurring illnesses. Recognising the wound is part of the healing process, which is of course related to acceptance, but isn't acceptance the hardest thing to do?... I didn't enjoy the sometimes prescriptive tone and feel it could have been a more empathetic book, but let's say it's alright for a start.
Lots of generalizations with only anecdotal evidence. I don't mean to invalidate the author's experiences, but anecdotes aren't sufficient evidence in my opinion. Great to provoke reflection on when you're reacting and when you're wearing a mask with others to avoid being vulnerable or protecting yourself from your fears.
