Thank you to Heather C. Myers for allowing me to read a copy of this boxset. I absolutely loved every book in this boxset. Each love interest had touch her and you die vibes, while the women were well written and could stand on their own. It also tackled topics that women face within everyday life, especially those in power. I would absolutely recommend this to any romance reader who is looking for a wonderful hockey romance to dive into.

Seraphina hires Harper to write a blog about the team. Harper isn't like other girls. She wears jeans! She doesn't like dancing! She plays CoD to relax! Oh but she likes shoes, so that's OK. Exs & Goals:
The granddaughters of, the murdered owner of, the New Port Beach Gulls hockey team, for the NHL. The sisters, Seraphina and Katella, are making their grandfather's, dream continue. So, he didn't, die in vain. Last year when the murder happened, they lost most of, the players and staff, because of, the scandal. They wanted the Stanley Cup, not the dark cloud following, the team because of, the owner's murder.
So, although Katella is a year older, their grandfather had left the team, for Seraphina to run. She has taken that responsibility, very seriously. Seraphina has been called all kinds of names in the press and to her face. All about how she runs, the organization, her decisions, picking up players, how she dresses, and so much more. So, she decided they needed an image change and Harper is the journalist to do just that. She has a blog, where she writes about hockey, how things are going with players, the game, and how to make changes. And Seraphina has taken notice, because when others, are taking notes on her aesthetics, Harper is talking straight about, what's wrong with the Gulls, and gives suggestions, on charges.
But, her first, expose is with, Zach the most controversial, player hired. Because he comes with, a scandal all his, own. But, there is something cocky about him, and the way he stares right at her, like she is a lab specimen, and not, to be obnoxious.
See how, Morgan and Zach, become an item, with so much of, a past for them both. Very sweet book. But, there are some tense moments with her ex.
Black Eyes & Blue Line
It takes a lot for Katella to get rattled, but having her ex-Matt coming slithering back, to the Gulls after he demanded that her sister, Seraphina trade him. She did, and he lasted with that team, for one year before he is asking, to come back. He is wanting, to practice with the team in hopes of, them resigning him.
The due sign him, for I believe a year, for the third line. Yeah, his fall from grace is noticed. He dumped the owner's sister, Katella after several years together. Saying with her grandfather’s murder, he realized he didn't love her, and he didn't want, to be in a relationship, with her anymore. And he wanted, to go to a team without, a dark cloud of murder, over it. Saying he needs less pressure, to work the first line, and he needs, to cut ties. He does this, soon after the funeral.
Negan is a veteran player, who they acquired during, the off-season. He used to play with a team in NY, but he let that contract run out. Sera picked him up, for his asking price. At thirty-three, it may seem like a risk. The last two years were, lackluster performances from him, but since joining, the Gulls he is bringing his, A-game.
Now, Negan is like the class clown, in school. The one that drove, Katella crazy, yet, that is also the one person, she always felt herself most attracted to. Now at twenty-six she still is. It’s when her ex starts sticking his nose where it doesn't belong that it brings Katella and Negan closer. Matt appears to be jealous.
Lip locks & Block Shots:
Seraphina never really travels with the team, but the GM had extended an invitation, to have a dinner meeting before, the game. Normally, the meetings consist of the GM, and the captains of, each team. However, when, Brandon the Gulls captain walks into, Seraphina’s office, to get a rundown of, the schedule for the next day, he is shocked.
They want to know the rundown for the players, as far as, their obligations for the night before. Also, Brandon wants to know the call time, for the meeting so, he can be ready. He is not happy when he finds, out she and Phil, the other GM will be meeting, alone. She sees he’s upset and asks why. He explains, Phil, if she looks him up, is a sleazeball, he has been charged twice with sexual abuse, and he is a known sexist.
Then Brandon lays it on the line about how he has felt about her. And wishes she wouldn’t go out with, Phil. Sera tries to explain, she can take care of herself, and that she has, to play nice with the big boys in the NHL. She says if not she will be crucified, even worse. But, Phil is thirty minutes late, and when Brandon sees her they start to talk. Then it happens, and he kisses her.
Phil sees this as an open season to talk and act rudely to her. He even gets handsy. So, Sera shows him what she's made of, and what can happen when a woman says no and the man doesn't listen. Let's just say she needs to ice her and take a cab back. Phil is a thorn for sure, but Sera is smart by hiring only the best. See what her team does to rally in her favor.

Harper X Zachary Ryan
Harper,a young journalist starts writing for the Gulls team, therefore she must interview Zachary Ryan. A newbie for the season. As Harper and Zach see each other almost every day they grow closer although Zach is a bit closed off. Harper also needs to get rid of her ex whom can't say no. And Zach is the one who can help her with that, if she needs it...
Book 2:
Katella Hanson X James Negan
They say there's a thin line between hate and love and here we are yet again. Katella, the elder sister of Seraphina, the new owner of the Gulls team, has to deal with her ex Matt Peters coming back after a year. Besides that she also has the deal with the arrogant James, whom cheated on his wife, who keeps on teasing her. This story tells Kat story where she grows as a person with Negan.
Book 3:
Seraphina X Brandon Thorpe
Seraphina is the first and only manager and owner of a hockey team in the NHL, therefore she has a lot of criticism. But instead of focusing on her team they focus on every tiny flaw she has. Therefore it's difficult for her to do what she wants. Brandon Thorpe was the guy who got accused of murder, therefore his reputation was wrecked, and all that because he's introverted and anti-social. This story follows Seraphina as she deals with the sexism that's thrown at her while also trying to find love.
I liked the stories they're cute, kinda same recipe. Women who's got insecurities, men who seem arrogant but aren't. Annoying exes or sexism etc.
You can read the stories as a standalone, but reading them in order would help you understand a bit more about some returning characters. I did find the problem with the chronical order.
The series revolves around a hockey team as they deal with a new manager and owner after the murder of their previous boss, Seraphina and Katella's grandfather. Some of the stories in this box are in the season directly after this dead and some in the 2nd season after the dead. This is not always obvious. As a standalone you might understand but if you read them in order it's confusing that you're jumping back and forth.

Black Eyes & Blue Lines
For me, this is the best book in the series so far. The tension between Kat and James, as well as the tensions with their exes, made for compelling reading. I enjoyed seeing them learn to trust in themselves and each other and discover how to be themselves in a relationship. I really loved the “where are they now” moments with the couples from the previous books. This now makes me desperately curious about what happens next with Sera and Brandon.
Lip Locks & Blocked Shots
I've been impatiently waiting for Brandon and Sera's book since the prequels, and I am not disappointed with the results. The push/pull dynamic between these two has been evident in every book leading up to this one and I'm so grateful that the tension finally broke and in such a spectacular fashion. I loved having the chance to get to know both Sera and Brandon better as people rather than just their positions in the Gulls. And in Phil Bambridge we have a villain truly worthy of loathing and I enjoyed hating on him every second of the way. The ending is a little abrupt. I would have loved to see more of their story but I understand we still need season left to take place in the next book. A book I can't wait to get my hands on.
Positives & Penalties
I loved getting the chance to get a deeper look at the relationship between Kyle and Emma. They were such a cute pair in the prequels and their cameo appearances in the other previous books. This time around they have to face their fears and learn how to be vulnerable with each other - valuable lessons in any relationship. Emma needs to confront her past and Kyle has to stand up for what he wants in the future. They're a passionate pair in the best and worst ways and I certainly enjoyed watching them while they figured it out. There are some beautifully expressed words of advice in here that could be life lessons for all of us.

**The Gulls Series** by [Author Name] offers a delightful mix of romance and hockey drama. Here’s a look at the first three books:
**Book 1: Harper & Zachary**

This is book one in the Slapshot series and it features Harper Crawford and Zachary Ryan. She’s got a crazy ex that has made her leery of trusting anyone. He’s got some undeserved scandal in his past but still open for the right woman. They hit it off right away but her past comes back to haunt her. This book has amazing characters and a fantastic story line. Looking forward to the next one.
Black eyes & Blue Lines 4.5 Stars
This is book 2 in the Slapshot series and it features Katella Hanson and James Negan. These two are kind of strange. She’s got her hangups and insecurities as she recovers from her grandfather’s murder and the break-up of a 2 year relationship. He’s got such a calm, even keeled way of looking at things but the one thing he REALLY wants is Katella and the depth of that scares him. This is a sizzling hot story line! There’s a lot of character growth in this book. I can’t wait to read the next one.
Lip Locks & Blocked Shots 4.5 Stars

This author was my introduction to hockey romance, and continues to be a favorite. I read and reviewed all three books previously, and love them all. They are well written with interested characters and story lines
Exes & Goals - I just read two in a row from this author, and will continue to look for her books. This was a great story. The characters were so likable, except for the scuzzy ex-boyfriend. Zach turned out to not be the bad boy that everyone thought, and that was a good thing for Harper. Cant wait to read the rest of the books in this series.
Black Eyes & Blue Lines -This is Kat and Negan's story, and I loved it! They have immediate chemistry, although she thinks it's hate until they touch, then they cant stop touching. the chemistry Harper and Zack have for one another is literally so die for! I need me someone who will defend me like Zack defended Harper against her ex. Also can I just say the communication 🥵🥵🥵 Zack knew what he wanted from the very beginning and wasn't taking a no for an answer (in the good way). I loved kicking this series off with this amazing couple and introducing us to the next couples.
Black Eyes & Blue Lines:
the whole enemies-to-lovers was an immediate grab!! All the bickering was just an absolute cherry on top for me :) The jealousy that was flying around their book was absolutely superb like yessss!!! Be jealous of others flirting with your significant other!! The locker room scene was just amazing! James knew Katella was it for him. He's the good that Katella needed in her life <3

Hehehehe I was WAITING for Seraphina and Brandon!!!! All the denying of feelings was just so much! Knowing it was a sort of forbidden love was what made their story exciting. OMG! How have I never read anything from this author before. Her stories are/were amazing. I binged this three book collection in under a day (including nearly a whole night). I am out of words to describe how swoon worthy Thorpe, Negan and Ryan are. Most collections you can pick a favourite couple but they are all beautiful in their own way.
In the first story we read about hokey writer Harper and her swoon worthy hockey hunk Zachary Ryan. Harper had previously been in a difficult relationship that ended badly which resulted in a lot of baggage. Then we had Ryan who had his own baggage that was brought on by rumours.
In the second book we read about the team owners sister, Katella and her relationship with James Negan. Katella was coping after the death of her grandfather when ‘Gull’s player and her boyfriend dumped her. He wasn’t into the relationship and she was. In comes Negan. Not only did he treat her right, defend her honour he loved her completely.
In the third book we read about the team owner Seraphina and her almost taboo relationship with star goalie Brandon Thorpe. These two had been pining over each other for over a year waiting for the other person to make the first move. It took Seraphina provoking him to encourage him to make a move. Things started rocky for these two but they were made for each other.

The fifth in a series on the Newport Gulls hockey team, this book is a romance seasoned with a flavor of hockey. This is a good, well written book. Reminiscent of Tami Hoag, Nora Roberts and similar authors, I can't help but be amazed by the volume of writing she can produce. I'll read more by her in the future and look forward to to the next Slapshot novel.

An absolute brilliant hokey box set , sizzling hot and incredibly beautiful written. I loved all three stories each unique and investing and full of sassiness, laughter, hot scenes , love , trust and doubt, wants and needs, what's "wrong" or "right" and swoooooooooooooooon....
Harper's and Zachary's story is one shows that, there is always a truth beyond what ppl "know", that a "bad boy" is the right boy. That love can make a difference...

Of this box set, book 2, is likely my favorite. I love the dynamic going between Katella and Negan. They are both trying to ignore what is happening but it's getting difficult. I especially love how it is referenced that they were acting like they were in elementary school. The boy picking on the girl because he likes her.
You know the spice is going to explode when the main characters can't stop bickering. This perfectly describes Katella and Negan. Its one of my favorite tropes to read. I just could not wait to see what they were going to say next.
This box set is nice that each individual story is a standalone and you can jump around in your reading if you want to or skip the tropes that your not a huge fan of. The ability to do this and still have a good story is challenging but Heather accomplished that. Heather was really able to capture the atmosphere of the book with her words. I was never left wondering what was being felt or thought. I feel like I truly understood her characters. This is a great box set for the sports romance girlies.

In the first book, Harper is sports blogger who gets harassed by a persistent ex and Zach Ryan steps in to protect her. In the second and third book, sisters Katella and Seraphina Hanson find out that the ice hockey world can be pretty sexist and cruel to young women. Katella gets slutshamed for having had relationships with more than one player and Seraphina who runs the entire team battles a misogynistic creep and fights her feelings for her goalie because she's the boss and it would look bad.
Individually, I rated two of these books three stars and one four stars. So, maybe, three and a half altogether? There were some continuity problems and I was a bit confuzzled by a murder that was introduced in book one. Brandon was a suspect in it. I was expecting to find out why he was a suspect and how he was cleared. But that never happened.
There is some sexual content.

This was a great collection of three quick and steamy hockey romances. Each had their unique challenges and characters you root for and can't help but love.
Exe's and Goals
Zach and Harper were super cute. Zach was so sweet and not at all how you would expect a hockey player to act. Harper was the nerdy and didn't like being in the public eye. It was a cute whirlwind romance with the perfect amount of action.
Black Eyes & Blue Lines
Katella and James was a cute enemies to lovers. They had such explosive passion. James was not as he seemed and was surprising. I enjoyed the bickering between them.
Lip Locks & Blocked Shots
Seraphina is a rule follower and Brandon was just waiting for his moment. I loved when every clicked and these two just let it happen. I found myself rooting for them.
I really enjoyed getting to know this team and am excited to read more.

Overall this set is 3.5 stars. This box set includes the first three books in the Slapshot series (Black Eyes & Blue Lines, Lips Locked & Blocked Shots, and Positives & Penalties). These books can be read as standalone. But to fully understand Positives & Penalties it helps if you have read the previous two books. This set makes it easy to read all three without trying to find the next book. There is mild violence but it is mostly confined to the hockey arena. The sex is hot and steamy so 18+.
The book blurb adequately describes the storyline so I'm not going to repeat that all of that info here. There are clues in the storyline that keep you guessing what will be revealed next. These characters make the story easy to read and you become invested in them and their stories. Overall it is an interesting series and worth taking the time to read.

This was a great collection of hockey books and each book had it own couple and storyline. This boxset was the 1st 3 books in the series and I really enjoyed each of them as the original owner was murdered and each book goes into all the changes the team had to make after that incident. There was steam, drama and of course hockey
Exes & Goals was Harper who became the team blogger and Zach the newest player on the team
Black Eyes & Blue Lines was Katella granddaughter of the original owner and now the teams event planner and James who is new to the team but likes to tease Kat

Loved the characters, entertaining situations and intrigue in this three book boxset. The owner of a hockey team is murdered and his granddaughter Seraphina is slated to take over, which causes all kinds of speculation and grief. She is starting over after everyone leaves the group, but she is able to pick some fantastic players and more. You follow through betrayals, romances, secrets, feelings, predators, and may even find some true honest characters who want the best to happen. Loved how she stands up for herself, both in person and in the news item end of things. So much action and even exes getting in the way. Totally enjoyed the books and look forward to more.

Truly remarkable storytelling. As I finished the story I knew that my life will not be the same again. I have fallen for this author's writing and cannot wait to devour the next book. The characters were truly inspirational and the storyline was compelling.
The stories are amazingly intense and the author prepares you for the journey for you to take alongside the characters really well. The characters and story developments were perfectly done. This book was extremely well written and has fast become one of my favourites of all time. I devoured it in one sitting. Incredible work!!

The stories were great, I loved that although the female characters had their moments of uncertainty, they were more often strong women and the men although protective and wanting to defend, recognized that they were able to take care and defend themselves. I loved that there was honesty and openness in the relationships. Although there was drama, it was well woven into the story and I did not get a sense that the author was trying to drag out the drama. Persons who enjoy a good sports romance with strong female characters and supportive male leads with a little alpha, will enjoy this book.

Amazing Books
These three books were absolutely amazing. There is suspense, drama, love, sadness and of course some hockey! I love a good sports romance and Heather scored a Hat-Trick with these three books. Each book is about a couple getting together despite the challenges that get in their way. Sometimes you have to really just take a long look at yourself and ask yourself, “What is it that I really want or Love?” When you figure that out, you can work around the obstacles that get in your way, when you work as a team and support each other!!
