This is a very timely book on the rise of China and its various geopolitical impacts on the world and India. It mostly focuses on the regime of Xi Jinping and his ambitions for the New China which takes back the coveted position it held before the Opium Wars as Middle Kingdom. It traces various moves President Xi has taken like BRI, various global institutions (like SCO, AIIB, NDB) in order to promote "socialism with Chinese characteristics".
Though the book is good in tracing history and actions already taken, it lacks in providing future insight and actionable inputs for policymakers and even casual readers.
