The Sea of Light
Like a lost child, I’ve wandered through life, weighed down by the loss of another. Every day I’m shadowed by grief, anchored by one defining moment. Could there really be someone out there for just me?

Although it was a good story, I wasn’t emotionally affected and the characters didn’t excite my interest.
As I reached chapter 8 I realised where the story with Athena would lead and I wasn’t enthusiastic about that.
It was very well written, yet it didn’t grip my heart. To be honest I forced myself to read it until the end.
It’s one of these cases “it’s me and not the book.” 😔

I didn't believe the H feelings for the h. I feel not only she was second best but a replacement of the dead wife. Which is even worse for me.

Sometimes you start book and you just know it is going to be special. That it will be a book that goes on your all time favorite lists. I shouldn’t be surprise that The Sea Of Light is one of them, the last 3 books that Shey Stahl has released have gone on the list.
This was such and incredibly emotional story. Journey feels like she has been living on borrowed time most of her life. She also feels like there is a hole in her life that she just can’t fill. Then she meets Lincoln and embarks on an crazy hot relationship with him. Little does she know the reason he is so wounded is so connected to her own struggles. Her name is really befitting of this book I gotta say.
I was only about 7 percent into this book before I knew it was going to be amazing. The cast of characters that Shey has created here are some of my favorite and it’s only the first book in the series. I found myself connecting to them all which is incredibly hard to do. Usually in a series I get invested in one couple and really just read the rest because I want to have more of that couple and end up disappointed. That’s not going to happen here because I am so very invested in Avie and Mal and Presley and Bear and Kylo, Everette, Dylan, Fletcher and Atlas.
The Sea Of Light is original, heartwarming, incredibly sexy (omg so hot ), emotional. You will fall in love with not only Journey and Lincoln, but everyone. This is definitely a 5 star read although I would give it more if I could. Looking forward to the next book in the series!

Shey always has a knack of writing raw, feel in the moment deep emotional stories and this one didn't disappoint. The methodical way Shey writes, it feels like I am there, I am seeing everything right in front of me. Front row seats of the sea, the bar, the boat, all of it. Journey has been through a rough few years medically, and she knows given the second chance she's got, she can't help but to feel like she should be doing something else with her life. This is the start of a new series, new setting. Journey locks eyes with a guy that has docked for a few days, and there is just something about him. They both feel it. They feel all of it.
This story takes us on sort of rough course between families. Lincoln has secrets that can break Journey. Journey is living this sort of half life but wants to feel invincible and she does when Lincoln is around. I really enjoyed this story. Lincoln really knows he really shouldn't do anything with Journey, but this pull can't stop either of them. They have this connection and its so deep in so many ways. I am very interested in seeing the cast of characters getting their happily ever afters. Loved this book!

This was fine but predictable. Once you read one transplant romance, you seem to have read them all and that’s okay but I didn’t feel the connection that Journey and Lincoln seem to have felt.

5 SEA STARS!
„The Sea of Light” is a book which I was waiting for a long time.
First of all this title gives me hope that this book will be with seaman or something like that.
Second of all subconsciously, I knew that Shey Stahl won't write a sweet book.
In „The Sea of Light” we have a double bottom of this story.
This story has a duel POV. We can read how Journey everything understands and how the events in this book work on Lincoln. Both of they are so broken and so wounded. What is the reason of it? Of course life. Both of them had a problems in their previous lives and now, they are really careful, when they must trust somebody.
Journey is a real fighter. When she was younger, she had a heart problems and now, after transplant she must life clever to be safe.
Lincoln is a fisherman. He is also a really good man. His decisions are thoughtful. He is brave, but this is a intelligent courage.
Their love is like little spark with oxygen. The start is shyly, but the end is like a big explosion.
Shey Stahl wrote another amazing book, where the heroes are real and the problems are true. I love the titles for each chapter in this book, because I am connected with a sea my whole life and this was a real pleasure to read something that I know a long time.
While reading I felt all of the emotions and everything in this book. I felt a sea breeze, when I was reading this book and now, I know that you must read „The Sea of Light” too!
This book is not only a book. „The Sea of Light” is a story of fight with water element and life.

I have no words for this book.
The sea of light was raw its was heart felt, at some parts emotionally draining. Shey's books always gets you on a emotional journey. This was by far one of her bests.
Lincoln is a single father and is a fisherman.
One day he goes into a bar after his fishing trip and there he see's this young beautiful woman.
He lost his wife so soon so unexpected. Lincoln as a curing side and a bit of a Dom side. He's so hot and sexy that you fall for him yourself.
Journey her name so fitting because her life as been journey after another.
Journey is young and is going through a lot at a young age. She was raised by her older brother. Their parents dead when she was young.
Journey as some health problems.
When she meets Lincoln for the first time it's like she couldn't breath. Not knowing that their connection is deeper than she expected. There's a lot a play in this book, and you ugly cry in most parts shey tears you apart.
This was phenomenal.
Please have tissue when you read this.

I could not put this one down. I finished it in one weekend. I have read most of Shey's books and she never disappoints, she has this way of writing that will pull you right into the story and leave you feeling like the characters are your friends and The Sea of Light is no different. Not only did I fall in love with both Journey & Lincoln but also the supporting characters. I cried, I laughed, there are a few times I wanted to reach through the book and smack the the characters upside their heads but in the end I was really pulling for Journey and Lincoln to have their happily ever after. I highly recommend reading The Sea of Light.

Lincoln has his nice moments, “you shouldn’t be on your knees for anyone,” he whispers, his eyes blazing with desire he seems to be containing. “Especially me.” Lincoln always has wishful thinking, "...I shift underneath her, my hands moving closer to her ***. “That you want me to lock the door and eff you?” I loved this book, I loved Lincoln and I'm kind of eager to see if other characters get books of their own as well.

I had been waiting with baited breath for this story to hit my kindle. Then, after the epic cover reveal, my eagerness intensified 10 fold. Well, let me just say Shey Stahl did not disappoint! (But when does she ever? Every book is 👌🏼) The Sea of Light was incredibly emotional, raw, suuuper steamy, at times painful, and extremely heartwarming.
This story is told in duel POV from Journey and Lincoln, the two main characters. These two, both so flawed and so damn real. Journey is as gorgeous and unique as her stunning name. A fighter, who has been dealt an extremely shitty hand in life, but is still so open to feeling, living in the moment, and taking a chance. She cares so deeply, and I just loved her so much. Lincoln, the sexy, broody alpha, admittedly took me longer to warm to. I understood where his traits and reactions to certain things came from as the story progressed, but felt incredibly protective of Journey! The chemistry and pull between these two is off the charts 🔥. Their connection runs so.damn.deep, as the reader goes on to discover.
Shey is the queen of world building and her beautiful storytelling made me feel like I was sitting front row at the bar, on the dock, in the boat, and pounding the pavement in this rugged and authentic coastal town. I could smell the salt water and feel the fog on my face, Shey really brought this world to life. The town definitely became a key character in its own right. Speaking of characters, Shey has created such an amazing cast of friends and family here, I feel so invested in all of them, especially Journey’s beautiful brother Avey. Thank god this is a series, because I am definitely not ready to leave this crew behind!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ oh my heart stars!!! Written to perfection by Shey Stahl The Sea of Light is a raw, beautiful, sexy, and utterly heart wrenching story about two people destined to be together yet are surrounded by secrets and lies. The book was an emotional and addictive journey that had me laughing, ugly crying, wanting to land a throat punch 😂, and holding my breath as I waited for all of the secrets and lies to be revealed. Encompassed by so many great elements I was completely enthralled and unable to put this book down. small fishing town ✔️strong heroine ✔️ alpha sexy fisherman ✔️ single dad ✔️lots and lots of angst ✔️ great secondary characters ✔️ twists and turns ✔️ suspense ✔️ HEA ✔️ I can’t believe this is my first book by Shey but wow what an introduction to her writing and books. This most definitely wont be my last and I can’t wait to see where this series will go.

One of my favourite reads for 2020.Sea of Light is beautifully written with subtle layers that grab your attention from the start. Journey and Lincoln bring this story to life with so much emotion and draw you into their lives effortlessly. Lincoln is book boyfriend goals and Journey is the girl you want to be friends with. Their story is told against the backdrop of small town Pacific North West with a cast of loveable characters and imagery so vibrant, I could almost taste the salt in the air and feel the chill rolling in off the sea.
Shey Stahl delivers a story so addicting that I'm hoping there are more stories to come. I just want more of these characters and this small town. I loved this book so much. It's a story I'll read over again and again.

The Sea of Light is an excellent book. It simply reels you in and doesn’t let go until the very end. I definitely had to give myself a couple minutes to collect myself because I was emotionally wrecked. The characters that you are introduced to in this story start to make you feel and want to be invested in their lives being told. My interest was piqued and focus on figuring out what would happen in the next chapter was a constant feeling. I couldn’t get enough and wouldn’t put the book down until the very end. I definitely recommend reading this book to anyone that hasn’t read this book and even more so, if you haven’t had the pleasure of reading one of Shey Stahl’s books yet.

April 13, 2020I don’t think that I have read one of Shey’s books that I have not fallen in love with, and The Sea of Light is no different. I couldn’t put this book down from the very beginning, it didn’t disappoint. I fell in love with Lincoln and Journey, everything about them two are so real with so much chemistry between the two of them. Both of them have to overcome so much throughout this book and it was all worth it. Lincoln was a complicated character from the start but you can look at him differently later. This book is a must read of Shey Stahl, I highly recommend this book!

Another beautifully written book by Shey Stahl. Two people who are about to embark on an emotional and life altering road and neither one of them are prepared for the truths when they are revealed. Journey literally lives her life day to day and Lincoln is weaved into her life, but when they come together it's absolutely wild and crazy with hotness off the charts. I loved the way the booked flowed with laughter and crazy moments, yet Shey pulls you in with such sweet words and heart wrenching scenes, you feel like your in the room with Lincoln and Journey when have their moments of passion and moments of honesty.
I read this book in one day. Yes! One day, because I wanted to see if two people with such heartbreak and secrets can find their way to each other and have love they deserve.
Absolutely 5 stars and Shey Stahl did not disappoint!

This Book! It is one of a kind. You just know immediately that this will be a "journey." The relationship between Journey and Lincoln is everything!!! The emotions are real, raw, and captivating. The intense connection between Journey and Lincoln hooked me from the beginning and I could not put this book down. Please do yourself a favor and read this beautifully written book. Thank you for such a beautiful story!

Another hit by Shey! For me the book was a little slow to get into but after a few chapters I was hooked and didn't want to put it down. I kind of figured out who Lincoln was and why he was interested in Journey in the beginning. I quickly learned that there was an unmistakable draw between them. It kind of surprised me who Lincoln's father was and how he was involved. The whole story was touching and real...with real feelings. I think that in the book Shey showed us that everything happens for a reason, fate has its own plans and sometimes life can be a big circle with all kinds of parts.

Most Amazing Book I have read in Awhile!!
When I first started reading this book I was just drawn in. I could not put it down. I started it on my lunch break while at work and secretly snuck away to read in the bathroom. I am not a bit sorry for that as I couldn't stop thinking about it and what would happen next with Lincoln and Journey. I needed to know where this story was going and if what I thought was correct. This has been one of the best books I have read this year so far. Shey wrote another amazing book as she always does. you won't be disappointed if you buy this book its worth it!

Journey’s her name and it just so happens to be the premise of this story, it’s an emotional one where both of the main protagonists have had to undergo their own struggles to get to the point where their journey towards a happily ever after together begins.
That journey isn’t an easy one for both Journey and Lincoln but it’s certainly worth it, it’s emotional and heartwarming as Journey tries her best to break down those walls which shroud the mystery surrounding Lincoln as he struggles to come to terms with a past that’s brought him closer to Journey, more than you could ever imagine. With a bar, a boat, salt water and sea air you’ll live and breathe alongside a whole host of characters in this fantastic five star read, you’ll fall in love with both Journey, Lincoln and a whole host of other characters, whose stories I hope we get read in the future.

Oh my heart!!! What a book! I love Shey Stahl and she killed it with this book!!!
Journey is a girl in small town Washington. She works at the bar her parents owned before they died that she and her older brother now run. She lives a normal life, except for being an orphan at age 13, oh I mean and she's had a heart transplant.
In walks Lincoln. I tough fisherman who definitely does not wear his heart on his sleeve. While he is on some longer hauls his dad, Fletcher, is helping to take care of his son Atlas, who he is raising by himself after the death of his wife when she gave birth.
Many things tie these two together, but it's when Lincoln sees Journey that he realizes those things don't matter and he wants her no matter what. It's an amazing beautiful story full of twists, turns, secrets and forgiveness. Definitely a must read!

What an incredible start to a new series by Ms. Stahl! While not a light and easy story, this book draws you in from the very beginning to witness the epic heartfelt and raw story of a life only half lived, of a woman searching for more when given a second chance. While the secrets Lincoln holds close should keep him away from Journey, they are drawn together by emotions and a chemistry that cannot be ignored or denied. Not only is this story well-told and engaging, the characters— even the minor ones— are incredible and I cannot wait to meet up with them again in the upcoming books in this series. If you’re looking for something a little different that will make you feel pretty much every emotion, grab this book and settle in for an unforgettable read.

Wow. There is not another way that I can start this review.
I love everything that Shey writes and never miss a book but this one was one I have been waiting for on pins and needles. Shey has a way of making you fall for not only the main characters but ALL of the characters. Right away you know that Journey and Lincoln are meant to be together and you feel like you know what the outcome of the story will be, but you will still be surprised. I felt attached and committed to the story in a way that hasn't happened in a long time. I needed Journey and Lincoln to have their story complete and now I need to have everyone else's we met. One thing that is unique about Shey is that she writes about where she lives and living in the PNW myself means that I too can picture the settings of the stories and these stories come to life for me. Shey made waves with this book and I cannot wait for the next book in this series.

One thing that is unique about Shey is that she writes about where she lives and living in the PNW myself means that I too can picture the settings of the stories and these stories come to life for me. Shey made waves with this book and I cannot wait for the next book in this series.

I'm so excited for this new series by Shey Stahl! This first book has so many twists and turns you'll be thinking WTH throughout. Journey and Lincoln's story is so endearing, you can't help but fall in love with them. There are many colorful supporting characters also; you'll fall in love with them as well. Based in a small coastal fishing community in Washington, the author brings her story to life and you feel like you are right there feeling and breathing everything with the characters. Beautiful!!

I was given a ARC for my honest review . Wow, such a wonderful story from SHEY ... I couldn’t put it down these two characters had me curious from chapter one . She had me in tears 😭 a couple of times too while reading , but really a good heartfelt story that will pull at ur heart ❤️

Wow! I absolutely loved this book! This book is filled with so much emotion. It had me guessing the plot throughout the book. I loved the characters Lincoln and Journey. I can't wait to read the next book in the series!

This author delivers in her righting you feel like you are there with journey and Lincoln on the journey of life. This book touches on emotions but will leave you giggling as well. Another amazing read!

This book hit home REAL hard right from the first page. I honestly wasn’t sure if I was going to be able to read it. But once you get going you can’t stop. Journey is such a fun character and she makes you want to root for her. Especially once you hear about all of her medical issues. Lincoln has this mystery that makes you want to crack him or keep digging until you can. The pull that these two have for each other is incredible. And then there’s Avie. The way he takes care of and watches out for Journey is amazing. Every scene I felt like I was in it. I felt like I was in the bar or on the boat, or walking in the fog of the salt water in the air. And just when you think you have everything all figured out, think again! You don’t! Amazing read!

The Sea of Light gave me ALL THE FEELS! Shey Stahl has this way of writing a book that can break your heart, give you hope, make you cry, laugh and cringe and still manage to be one of the sexiest reads that I’ve read in ages!
Journey and Lincoln were EVERYTHING! Their connection was immediate and so HOT. I loved all of the supporting characters, from Journey’s crazy brother and crazy bar family to Lincoln’s even crazier brother and his family.

Hooked!
Shey did it again! She wrote a beautiful story that keeps you wanting more! I loved the mysterious edge this book had. I kept guessing what was going to happen next. The characters were great and the one-liners were just as good! I was laughing one minute and biting my nails the next, total page-turner. Although, Lincoln was an unusual fish to start, he quickly found my heartstrings. I’m so excited for the next book in this series. I can’t wait to get to know these characters more and find out what Shey has in store for them!
