Cockney Dialect: A Selection of Words and Anecdotes from the East End of London

Rate this book
This book will help you understand the unique and ancient Cockney dialect and have you talking like a native in no time. The book includes a dictionary to help you develop an altogether new vocabulary, plus a wonderful collection of tales and anecdotes, all chosen to illustrate different aspects of the delightful local dialect. A recent survey on Cockney rhyming slang by the Museum of London Docklands showed that seven out of ten people think that it is dying out or fading. On the positive side, two-thirds think that it is crucial to London's identity. So here is your chance to 'ave a butcher's and get rabbitin'. This paperback book has 80 pages and measures: 18 x 11 x 0.6cm
