He claims that Oriental astrologers kept their calculation methods secret, passed them down through kinship ties because they took astrology seriously and didn't want their mysterious methods known to outsiders. Logan implies that he "got in good" with some Japanese astrologers and found out enough about their calculation methods to produce the insights revealed in his book, but he says little more about the cosmology and philosophy upon which they based their astrology methods besides the standard legend about the 12 animals who visited Buddha on his deathbed.
