Terrible and cringey. I get what the author was trying to do at times, but the characters were super annoying and immature. The hero shaming people for the work they want to get done, calling them "plastic" as an insult, despite whatever he thinks of her, is a big NO in my book and is super childish.

This was so absurdly awful but it’s trashy smut Tuesday apparently.

I’m not gonna bother pointing out what was wrong with it because, well, it was all of it. 😂 And I’m not saying that because I’m clutching my pearls over the subject matter, it’s pretty clear in the title.

High hopes that crashed and burned

Let me start off by saying the book started off really well. I liked the concept and the characters for about the first 33% of the book and I had high hopes that this was going to be a great, fun read... until it wasn’t. It became so cliché and predictable that the dialogue read like a cheap porn without the sex. All the ex wife over kill felt forced and unnecessary, not to mention the Secretary mood swings that wasn’t fully explained. It got weird fast and I was left baffled by how fast and far it went off the rails.

Becca + Matthew

✔ Dad's Best Friend
✔ Office Romance
✔ Age Difference : 20 years
✔ Forbidden
✔ Accidental Pregnancy
✔ Greedy & Crazy Ex Drama
✔ Dual POV
✔ HEA

Feelings :

- I loved Becca and Janey's friendship. Well, at least at the beginning. I wanted to know what Janey thought about Becca's relationship with Matthew.

- Loved the gym aspect. It's kinda unique. At least, to me.

- I liked Sandra at first. She was a badass. But then she started acting like a b*tch. We didn't get to see her reaction when she learned about Matthew and Becca.

- Okay? Why the fuck Matthew still not divorced? I already hated the fact that he's married and now I'm hearing his cheating wife didn't sign the divorced papers? WTF? The author did this so that she could cause drama with this fact later, right? Wrong choice. Ugh! And I was right, it did cause drama. Unnecessary drama.

- For fuck's sake, Becca's father had to convince Matthew to give her a chance when he was gonna reject her. Ugh! They way Becca was talking you'd think they're close. But they weren't.

- Matthew just walked out minutes after taking her virginity. Wow. I mean who wouldn't dream of a man like this. Note the sarcasm. At least Becca didn't run back to him like a desperate woman. I liked how confident Becca was.

- Matthew was not an alpha male. Becca, on the other hand, more of an alpha female. I really wanted Matthew to take the lead not acting like a teenage boy. Sheesh!

- Was expecting a better epilogue even though I shouldn't have.

It was hard at first. But it got better. Or not. I couldn't make up my mind. Although I wished some things were slightly different. Besides this book didn't have as much as hot steamy scenes I would've liked. It was just an okay read I guess? Sure, I didn't hate it but that didn't mean I loved it either. Because there was so many things were left out at the ending. The author pretty much wrapped it up rather quickly than clearing a few things up. So, I don't know if I wanna recommend it to anyone.

I am making due on my promise to go back and read what I can of the Silver Fox Daddies series. So I KU’d this one and gobbled it up quickly.

I adore that Becca is not the damsel in distress type…when it comes to anything. When Matthew was telling her it wouldn’t work with them because of her dad, she knew he’d be back. There was no sitting around crying for this chick.

The romance was hot with this one. And everything seemed to happen rather quickly for them. So me being a fan of a well written insta-love, I was giddy reading it.

Great story and consuming romance, this book hit all the right spots. 5 Stars!!

2.5 stars. Although I enjoyed this book, I also discovered that I don’t like reading about a girl and her dad’s best friend. Also didn’t love the ending, but the rest was pretty good.

Becca asks her dad to get her an interview with is friend Matthew who runs a fitness business. Sparks fly between them. Matthew is going through a divorce from his cheating wife and feels he should stay away from Becca because she is his friend’s daughter. Can they fight their attraction? Entertaining read with great chemistry, lots of drama and suspense. I liked it.

4 stars for Knocked Up by Daddy’s Best Friend by K.C. Crown. This is book on in the Big Bad Daddies series. This book is incredibly hot. Mathew is older and Becca’s dad’s friend. Becca has always wanted one man and now that he is single, she gets a job working for him. I loved when Mathew didn’t recognize her at first and fantasized about her. “And you’re Mathew Banks. The man I’ve wanted since I knew how to want a man.” This book is great and oh so sexy. You will not be disappointed.

Daddy's Best Friend, one of the books in the Silver Fox Daddies series, was about 23-year-old Becca Canmore, a recent college graduate, and 40-plus-year-old Matthew Banks, the owner of a chain of nationwide gyms. Matt was also her father's BFF.
This was the second time I read this story, but the first time I had written a review.
Matthew had been her dad's BFF since before her birth. He had been there when she was born and watched her grow up. He went on to marry someone else, never once giving thought to Becca as anything other than his BFF's daughter. However, when Becca was a teenager, her thoughts towards Matthew had turned from a crush to a young love...something she never acted on nor ever told him about. He even helped Becca pack her car when she was leaving for college.
Once she had graduated from college and returned home, Becca was ready to settle into a new job. she just had to find one. Her goal was to work in a gym as a trainer until she could work her way up to the corporate level, and she hoped to do that at Matthew's business. Her father even went so far as to arrange for an interview with Matthew for her. suffice it to say, that she got the job, and things eventually went from professional to personal in a short space of time.
Although it was a bit long, it wasn't as long as some of the other books in the series. With that being said, there was plenty of angst and drama, a touch of suspense, and more than a little push/pull between the two main characters because the MMC couldn't make up his mind what he wanted. The plot was okay, if somewhat questionable. There were moments when it seemed like the storyline was headed in one direction, but then suddenly changed course and went somewhere completely unexpected. That wasn't always good, but it kept the reader wondering what the author was doing.
The two main characters were well-developed and mature, with plenty of room for growth. There was something that I didn't like about the MMC, and it was that it was more than obvious he had changed over the years, and not in a good way. Matthew had turned into a snob once he gained his wealth. He started looking down on the lower, and even middle-class people and only worked with the wealthy and celebrities. When Becca mentioned opening his business up to that demographic, at first he wasn't willing to. There were even moments in the book where the author had him focussing on his wealth and not being happy with where he had come from or what he had. I mean, he bragged about having a ten thousand dollar watch and two swimming pools at his home (although the second pool had been his ex-wife's idea. Still, he bragged about it).
Anyway, it was a good story, but the attitude of the MMC, for most of the story, was more than a touch snobbish and unlikable. The FMC, for being a virgin and never having a boyfriend, was a little too...free with her pursuit of the MMC. Not that there was anything wrong with it. For the most part, she was likable. But sometimes she came across as hyper-critical, especially where her BFF's boyfriend was concerned.
With all that said, I did enjoy the story and I thought it was better the second time around. So I upped my review from a two to a four-star rating.

The Agelessness of Love

Becca Canmore has literally known Matthew Banks all her life—he is her dad’s best friend. He even coached her high school basketball team to a state championship. And, he has always been her measure of what she wants in a man. Now, a recent college graduate with a focus on sports fitness and business, Becca is seeking a job back home in Boston, and she would love to work in her field of physical fitness—she would love to work for Matthew.

While her dad, Bob, runs a local sports gym developing young fighters and others simply interested in the ring, Matthew has taken gyms to another level. He has created a sophisticated workout and nutrition facility that appeals to high end clients, expanding it as a nationwide organization. And, he has a vision of continued growth but has been unsuccessful in finding the right expansion plan or merger. His plan was always to create a business that would be successful and provide the financial foundation for the houseful of children he desires. But after 15 years of excuses and reasons to postpone children from his crazy ex-wife Olivia, recently compounded by the discovery of her in bed with another man, Matthew’s personal dreams of home and family have ended, but he still has professional goals.

Hiring Becca is a nod to friendship appeasing his best friend’s request to give her a chance; what he did not expect was the smart, beautiful woman who now occupies his waking thoughts, nighttime dreams and his business hallways. While hiring Becca is a good business move—she brings sharp insight of how to appeal to a younger generation—working closely with her is all kinds of trouble—as revealed in a threatening blind email sent to Matthew. He knows he needs to let her go, but his heart and head are going to the mat on this decision.

Once more KC Crowne has found just the right combination of love and suspense to capture the reader’s attention and imagination. Filled with themes of friendship and family mingled with physical and emotional love, Crowne’s romances deliver satisfaction on many different levels. A Crowne romance is always a winning decision.

I received a free copy of this book as an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review, but I enjoyed the reading experience so much that I bought a copy for my "read-again" titles.

4.3/5 overall - pretty decent story, would read again

I didn't expect much from this one as I have always been a bit wary of the older man/dad's friend trope. This one makes it more understandable I guess in that the older men are relatively young at around 40. Also, the fact that the H and h are fitness ppl makes it more acceptable. Basically I've always been weirded out bc I cannot even imagine being attracted to anyone my father's age growing up - I'm literally grimacing just thinking about it. If you are able to keep that thought out of your mind, though, it was a pretty good little romance. The h was a badass and even tho I thought there might be a cruel guy/sad hurt girl dichotomy with the conflict, this h was the opposite of weak or naive. In fact the older H seemed more insecure. Although I generally do like the mean/dumb guy / sad/hurt girl conflict it would have made their age difference less acceptable as an indication of possible lack of self assuredness and possible immaturity. Immaturity here would make the relationship tawdry, which this writer did an excellent job avoiding.
Three very good sex scenes - very hot without having to bring in the extra tools or pushing the envelope kink. The sex scenes were long and compelling enough, that the book didn't need more and certainly wasn't overfilled to the detriment of the plot. Although generally my sex-o-meter scale increases based on variety, amount, and scale of kink (meaning a 10/10 does not necessarily mean the best sex), the quality of the trysts here brings it up to an 8.6/10.

Becca came back to her hometown after college so she could see about working for her dad's best friend's gym. Its always been her dream well one of her dreams and she wants to see if she can make it happen. Matthew isn't at a good place in his personal life because he is in the middle of a messy divorce with his soon to be ex wife Olivia. When his friend Ben asks if he can interview his daughter Becca for a job he agrees but knows he doesn't really have anything place for her. When Becca shows up for the interview she tells him what she'd like to do if she got a job there but when he said he'd call her she didn't expect to hear back. However he does hire her and sparks fly between them because even Matthew didn't count on how much he would want to be with her. When Becca convinces him to take a chance he immediately regrets that they are together. But when someone starts sends him messages about him and Becca Matthew doesn't know what to do. Who is threatening Matthew? Will he take a chance with Becca? What will her father say about them being together?

This is an amazing story that will captivate you from beginning to end. The chemistry between them is off the charts hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

I received this book with the understanding that I could leave a voluntary and honest review.

In this book we meet Becca Canmore and Matthew Banks. Becca has know Matthew for years now. She has lusted after him for more years that she can think of. So when things go south after graduating from college she does the only thing she can she goes back home. When she gets home she learns her dad put in a word with his best friend and he is giving her an interview. Matthew can't believe this gorgeous woman is the same little girl he watched go off to college. Though her ideas are good for his business he is just not convinced she is the one he should hire. When he speaks with her dad again he knows he has to at least give her a shot. With vindictive ex's and cravings neither can ignore will they get the HEA they both long for or will they watch it all like a house of cards come tumbling down?

This is another amazing story by this author. It doe shave its ups and downs I really want to tell you about. However I don't want to ruin the story for any other readers. I will say this book will have you hooked from the first word to the very end. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.

Working Out Never Felt So Good ❤🔥❤🔥

Another hot story off the press from K. C. Crowne !!! Matthew owns a high end gym catering to the elite trying to expand his business. Interviewing his best friend's recently college graduate daughter doesn't faze him until he sees Becca all grown up. Becca has always crushed on Matthew and measured all her dates to him which is why she's never find more than fool around. It's wrong to want his best friend's daughter but no other can compare to her, even his son to be cheating ex wife. Sneaking around feeds Matthew's guilt and he calls it quits but someone knows and is sending emails with pictures. Things go from complicated to worse when Becca sees two pink lines . How can she tell Matthew when he's pulling away. When Becca is kidnapped from Matthew's home, he'll do anything to get her back from his greedy unhinged ex. What happens when Becca's dad finds out?? Will Becca and Matthew make it through the the lies of his ex and the betrayal her father feels?? Find out as you follow this journey of twisted road of love. A MUST READ!!! I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book via Booksprout purchased a copy for my favorites collection. Looking forward for more from K. C. Crowne!!

In this book we have Matthew Banks, he runs a large gym in the local area. The gym caters to more higher clients - like celebrities. Matthew had caught his wife - Olivia - cheating on him, and since the guy recently broke up with her, she trying to get Matthew back. Matthew of course isn't having it.

Becca, a recent college graduate is looking for jobs. Her dad, Bob, asks Matthew if he can give her an interview. Matthew is reluctant at first, as she doesn't have real world experience. But, Bob, states that she is young has plenty of ideas, and could do a lot of his company. Matthew grants her an interview, and also hires her. Becca's idea's are good. and she could offer the company a fresh look / take on things.

Becca has always been in love with Matthew. However, he was always married, and she was 'just a kid'. That is until recently. Matthew isn't married any longer. Becca is in her twenties now. She can think for herself. The only thing holding them back would be that her father and Matthew are best friends. Would he stand in the way?

I did receive a free ARC Copy of this book. I am freely leaving an honest review.

While I liked this book enough to finish it, it got to a point that I really started not liking it for a dad's best friend trope. First off, the secretary having an attitude toward the young FMC seems backward, like she should have been mad at her boss the MMC, since he is objectively speaking, the mature adult who should be able to control himself. MMC was kind of a scared little b****, scared of his feelings, scared of what people would think, scared of his friend. I understand being unsure about her actual feelings therefore taking time to let people know since it will cause a stir but that's not what happened. The FMC had to take control of that part of their relationship. This just did not scratch the dad's best friend/age gap itch for me. It might be a bit more realistic in those feelings he's having but I don't live in the world of books for realism lol

If those things don't bother, you then you should be fine with this. But if you are someone who sees age gap and possessive/ she's mine as going hand-in-hand then this is not the book for you.

Another great book from this fun author her books always flow well and the characters are always multidimensional

Becca Canmore has always held any man she dated up to who she felt was the perfect man her dad's best friend Matthew Banks to her he was the perfect man and she also new him as thee coach that took her team to the to a state championship in basketball. He runs a high end fitness centre that not only looks at fitness but also nutrition and holistic ways. She would love to work for him now that she has finished her physical fitness degree. Matthew always intended to franchise his gym out giving him an income for the perfect family he planned that os until he found his now ex wife in bed with another man. He gives Becca a job as a favour to his best friend her father but now he has to deal with the fact that he is finally noticing that she is a woman grown and that he wants her. Do they have a future together.

Daddy's Best Friend

This seemed shorter than the others. And after the first one with the Mafia and the second with the cartel, and the third with a Stalker, well the fourth was anti-climamactic with it's threatening ex-wife.
I have enjoyed the Silver Fox Daddies Series but 4 is not my most favorite. The one thing that I really liked was that Becca knew what she wanted for a long time. She wanted Matthew. But she also wanted the best gym job and he had it. She wanted to work in management because she wanted to see change happen in Matthew's gym. She walked into her interview saying that. And she did because Matthew was impressed with the idea someone would come with an idea to an interview. Like the others it has erotica but it didn't seem to have as much. I don't know. This book seemed more like a novella?
I still recommend the author and the series...this is just my last choice so far.

Oh gosh. This book. lol I mean, it's an okay age gap romance. It was entertaining. Fun, sexy times and all. But the thing that made it most entertaining for me was the fact that this guy was supposed to be a fitness guru, low body fat, practically a body-builder type, and all he did during the entire thing was...day drink, evening drink, eat out, have cheat meals, and stare at the female MC when he was supposed to be working out. Not one chicken breast, white rice, and broccoli meal in sight. Me thinks this author has never been into serious fitness before. lol The chicken breast and broccoli think was a joke, though. Sometimes there's protein powder. A lean pork chop. Beef jerky if you're rich. Haha. But seriously, if you want visible abs, you eat very well, ESPECIALLY if you are in your 40s. I know guys with amazing bodies in their 40s. They may have cheat meals here and there, but 99% of the time, they count their macros.

Note to self: Stop getting book recommendations off Facebook 🙄😂

This started off promising! Not amazing but surely something pretty good. But the story line was cringey at best and completely unbelievable, even for someone as delulu as me. The way the secretary suddenly started to hate the fmc with no explanation was strange. The ex wife went from being a cheater to all of a sudden scheming a blackmail/kidnapping and threatening to kill ?? Someone tell me how this man was able to get 10 million from his bank in an hour to pay the ransom? The scene where she lost her V was unbelievable and the fact that these two adults never even thought about protection is wild to me.

I should’ve stopped reading when the 40ish year old mmc said this : “Becca? Fuck! She looks like one bad ass motherfucking chick.”

I skimmed about 60% of this book just to get it finished. Maybe one day I’ll learn to DNF but today was not it

Matthew and Becca will have you on the edge of your seat with all the exciting drama filled in this story. Matthew is in the middle of a divorce from his cheating ex wife who he caught in the act. Becca is in need of a job one that she wants in Matthew's fitness corporation so she ask her father to get her an interview with him which he agrees to. When he reconnects with Becca, she is no longer the skinner young girl he remembers in fact she is all woman a woman that should be off limits because he is best friends with her father. Becca has harbored feelings for Matthew going on years but because he was married knew it was a lost cause until she did the unthinkable. Now that they have crossed that path, someone is blackmailing him. When everything comes to light, will he and Becca get their chance for a happily ever after?

🙄🙄🙄

So this was my first read by Queen K.C. Crowne and I was All in until the end of chapter 23🙄. Everything afterwards was unnecessary and so predictable and it took away from the overall storyline and made it less steamy. 3 1/2 🌟 at best.
I was so glad Gigi fazed out as soon as her character was introduced🤷🏽. Should've come that came with his whorish money hungry ex-wife Olivia cause her storyline was not needed🤷🏽
Sandra had me giving her the side eye several times cause she was acting more like a bitter ex than his assistant🙄
I enjoyed the beginning of Matthew & Becca's hot chemistry😜. Those two were like a moth to a flame, just couldn't keep their hands off each other. Aimmie was a true bleeding to them both but, especially Matthew cause Lord knows he wanted to be a father💕
I'm hoping the next one in the season hits on all levels.

Becca just graduated college and is moving home. Her father and his best friend Matthew, agreed for Matthew to interview Becca for a job. Matthew owns a gym and is a personal trainer. Becca is more on the corporate side of things. She has always been attracted to him, but he is going through a divorce. He hires her, takes her innocence and is happy. They are afraid to say anything to her father, because he will go ballistic. Then, someone emails Matthew pictures of Becca and him threatening to oust him. He hires a PI to investigate. Then, someone kidnaps Becca, and worse she just discovered she is pregnant! Who is it? What do they want? What will happen when her dad finds out? Even more of a disaster that will put the baby’s life in danger! This book contains steamy scenes and a HEA~I received this via Booksprout am voluntarily leaving a review.
