Oh dear God please end this series soon it’s starting to drag on, I have grown out of (and tired of) these multi volumes that don’t really add to the story.
Juzo gets repaired, he always will he could never sustain damage for long, and they find out that they can go to a maximum-security prison (collection) to try and find Victor. Well they find him and this overhyped character named Valentine had secretly been keeping him there to help him sort of. Victor the human is badly damaged and it upsets Mary (who joined for no real safe reason lets be honest) and the robot clone is just like “told you”. There’s a lot of government jargon involved that I just wish they wouldn’t shoehorn into the story, I truly do not care I only signed up to see robots fight one another.
Anyway Berühren or whatever is using sub brains and harmony and plans to kill or take Victor’s components. It’s left on a lazy cliffhanger before introducing you to a short story about how Juzo saves some kids from a robot bat.
Nothing is really resolved and I feel like this entire book could’ve been one chapter of just finding Victor and meeting Valentine. The robot designs are still bad ass but it’s not enough to keep me invested as the story gets drawn out. You can tell it’s kind of running out of options because they just keep having boob and butt shots in-between robot battles. It’s insulting to the audience that they can’t focus on anything else.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
We get progression on the "evil corporation" storyline, and the introduction of another players in the fight for control of the Harmonie device. Good action moving the story forward.
I recently went back to re-read this to get me caught back up for some newer volumes. I think it's a very cool setting, though maybe a little bit more could have been done with it. I was a little confused on a few things the first time I read it, plot-wise with the Arahabakis, but I understood it better the second time through when i was paying closer attention instead of just getting distracted by all the art. ;)
