"This author knows her way around unique prose and enchanting writing style. I can’t say it enough—this book will hook you! One Blissful Night is simply stunning from start to finish." Harloe Rae, USA Today Bestselling Author

How much are you willing to trust a liar?

“Promise you won’t break my heart, Brax.”

He promised. I believed.
Brax Kent was a liar.
He shattered every possible piece of me.
Several years passed before I got through an entire day without shedding a tear.
My existence was hollow, empty, bleak.
Hate was the only thing that pushed me through the day.
Seven years later, who turns up to be my next door neighbor?
The man I despise with every ounce of my being.
And now he wants me back.
With flowery words and sworn oaths full of apologies, he begs.
Can this man who ruined me be trusted?
Only his obstinance, persistence, and beautiful face weaken my resolve.
And I stupidly expose my heart as he wedges himself inside, bit by bit.
Surrendering completely may mean absolute love, or absolute destruction.
The choice is mine.
Cross the line in the sand, or stay in my safe zone.

"Hello, Braxton.”

"She looked vaguely familiar but I couldn’t put my finger on who she was. In a sassy tone, she asked, “What, you really don’t recognize me?”

“You do look familiar. Oh, wait, were you on the beach yesterday?” I think she may have been the girl who was with the one who’d lost her top. That one had a killer body."

She planted a hand on her hip and said, “Hmph. Is that all?”

"I was at a complete loss. Was this someone I’d had a drunk hookup with in the past? If so, I was out of luck in the memory department. I shrugged."

..........

“Listen, about senior year.....I thought it was best that way.”

“What way? To humiliate me in front of everyone and then have them laugh because they all knew before I did?”

“No! I mean, that’s not how I intended for it to happen.”

“Yeah, but it did. See, Braxton, you told all your friends, and then you told Lindsay. Of all people, why did you tell her? You knew how much she despised me. So she made my life, or what was left if it that year, sheer hell. By the time we graduated, I never wanted to see any of those people again. And it was all because of you. You broke every tiny piece of me, and then never had the decency to apologize. When you broke things off with me, you could’ve done it in private, but no. You chose to do it in front of an audience. Clearly, you were the biggest coward in the world. I’m surprised you have the balls to play footbal"

“I remember. But, listen, that was a mistake. It wasn’t meant to happen that way. I’d had too much to drink and I…”

“You what?” Reynolds spit the words out.

“One of the guys said something and the whole thing got out of hand.”

“Oh, I get it. So you couldn’t call or come over and apologize? You just ended it like that. What kind of person does that?”

...........

“And have you ever given a thought to what happened?”

“Believe it or not, yeah, I have.”

“Bull. If you had, you would’ve done something about it. This is the first time I’ve spoken to you since.”

"That much was true. I’d thought about calling her many times, but the truth was, I was a chicken-shit."

"Why had I been such a chicken-shit? Why hadn’t I manned up and gone to talk to her? Initially, the reason I wanted to break things off was to concentrate on my sport and school. I knew if we’d kept seeing each other, I’d want to visit her. Or have her come to me and I was so wrapped up in her, it wouldn’t be good for my career."

.............

"It was never supposed to have happened that way and if I’d kept my big mouth shut, it wouldn’t have. I’d told my best friend when I’d been inebriated that I was thinking about breaking up and he ran his mouth to his girlfriend, who was best friends with a girl who had chased me for years. That was all it took to get all over the party. After that, I was fucked. I should have apologized to Reynolds, begged for her forgiveness. But I was an idiot and let it slide. Then we graduated, I went off to college, and that was it. I hadn’t seen her since..."

...............

"Our food order showed up and we ate the best barbecue around. I kept an eye on Reynolds and she genuinely appeared to be having a good time with her date. A twinge of jealousy clawed at me and it was unsettling. Yes, I hated the way we ended things. When I was in high school, I’d imagined us being together for the long haul. But that was years ago. I’d moved on and had dated lots of women since then."

............

“Ooh, you look amazing in that. Brax will be drooling when he sees you wearing that dress.”

“You’re joking, right?”

“No, I’m not. Just think about it, Reynolds. He was awful to you. This is your chance for revenge. Get him to fall and fall hard. And then walk away from him exactly like he did to you.”

...............

"He’d broken me and if I was honest, I was still comparing all guys to him. It was seven years. For Pete’s sake, I should’ve moved on by now."

...........

"I didn’t listen to Jase and went out back where there were about fifteen to twenty kids standing around in a circle. Brax and a couple of his friends were in the middle. They’d been drinking, and a lot by the sound of things.

“You didn’t need to be chained to her anyway, dude.”

Brax said, “Right. I’m so done with that. Here’s to freedom. No more Reynolds West for me. So over that shit.” Everyone raised their glasses and toasted.

Then someone else said, “Dude, now you can really get a taste of some fresh pussy and not be locked in on just one.”

Brax raised his glass and said, “Here’s to fresh pussy. The more the merrier. I was tired of hers anyway. Old news as they say.” All the guys yelled, “Yeah!”

One of them shouted, “Think of all the girls you’ll have in college. A grand pussy buffet waiting for you, dude. You’ll be the king of pussy.”

The toasts to Brax’s freedom from me went on and on as tears surged down my cheeks. Pain razored through me, slicing my heart into tiny pieces, mutilating it. He’d promised over and over never to break it. Well, he didn’t. He’d pulverized it until there was nothing left of it."

...........

"I nodded my head against his chest as I scrubbed the tears away. “I do. I was foolish and stupid and selfish. I’ve only been thinking of myself this whole time. Can you forgive me?"

...............

Yeah yeah authors! Keep romanticizing this kind of garbage, after all women deserve to be treated that way right? And it's that kind of man who should be considered worthy after all he's sooooooo hot! That's right! Continue this lack of originality! That makes you amazing professionals! 👏👏👏👏👏

Finding Her Bliss

There’s nothing better than a second chance romance with a man that is willing to do anything to get his girl. Brax is a hot and sexy quarterback with the right moves and all the swoon.

Back in high school they were the perfect couple. They even planned on forever. One high school drunken night just before college and Brax ruined everything.

Reynolds eventually moved on, but her original plans were derailed. Getting over Brax was the hardest thing she’s ever done. Now’s she’s built a new life and a future that she’s proud of.

Six years later and the guy that just moved in next door is the past she’s worked so hard to forget. He broke her heart and now she’s going to make him pay.

Once Brax sets his sights on Ren, he’s all in. There is no stopping him from going after the woman that has always had his heart.

Brax was loving, sweet and persistent. He was a dedicated professional quarterback that loved hard. Ren was sassy and determined to not make the same mistakes. Putting her heart on the line meant Brax was going to have his work cut out for him to prove to her that this time he wanted it all.

A super hot and sexy story about forgiveness and second chances. Add in a little drama, a rooster and fake boyfriend and you have yourself a fun and flirty love story with sizzling chemistry and incredibly hot sexy times.

DNF at 29%

I'm trying to read more authors who are new to me.

Unfortunately, this one didn't go well. I liked the premise, and the blurb. I just didn't like the book.

I didn't believe the characters. I thought the dialogue and the situations felt forced. I couldn't connect with the characters and the way they were written, they felt fake. If people have conversations like the people did in this book, I have never met them.

Yes, I know it's probably just me. But, this is my review. If you loved this book, yay!!

I struggled with this one, and I tried. But it's a DNF.

Blissful is correct! That’s exactly how I’m feeling after finishing this glorious romance.

A.M. Hargrove has once again ran off with my heart in tow. This author knows her way around unique prose and enchanting writing style. I can’t say it enough—this book will hook you!

One Blissful Night is simply stunning from start to finish. I swooned and laughed and cursed and fell so hard for this couple. This is exactly what I crave in a second chance romance. Reynolds and Brax fight for themselves, sometimes against one another, but the battle is so sweet. I was glued to each tantalizing scene and couldn’t look away if someone paid me.

Give this beautiful novel a try. I’m sure you’ll be falling helplessly in love by chapter two!

One Blissful Night will end up on my Best Romance Reads of 2020. Trust me, everyone should read Reynolds and Braxton's story immediately. Reynolds hooked me from her first frozen concoction and her antics on the beach, and Braxton, UNF! He is the ideal book boyfriend.

Reynolds is divinely sexy and full of spunk. I could not put ONE BLISSFUL NIGHT down. And Braxon Kent, he's an athlete AND a man destined to grovel at Ren's feet in this epic SIZZLING second chance.

Hands down, a one sitting read. Make sure to pause your life, because this is a cover to cover steamfest. Sure, it has Hargrove’s signature world building—the West sisters do not disappoint, everrrrr, and the humor bounces off every page. But Hargrove has written a huge, hungry smoldering second chance with heart throb Braxton Kent, a true hero we all need. I did not see him coming.

I LOVE THIS STORY

Things I lurved about Braxton Kent—

He’s FlockHot!
His mouth, the dirty and earnest things that come out of it.
He knows a “smoke show” went he sees one. And his total devotion to everything Ren.
His patience.
His huge heart.
His optimism, even though his life is too damn complicated and full of it’s own misery.
His raw honesty, even when it looks like its’ all going to fall apart…again. *S0b*
His grovel. It’s so damn good.

OMG their backstory slays. Braxton has a lot to make up for. And I love how their romance unfolds. I ached for Ren and I had no idea how things was going to go and I kept swiping pages long into the night.

There is so much great plotting and the narrative carried me even when the angst the was dialed up perfectly!

I can’t express how much I loved this story. Alright, yes, I’ve read his POV several times. Sidenote: if you’re tired of bullies that mistreat the heroine and through some escapist fantasy writing suddenly becomes her soulmate, One Blissful Night is the antidote. It’s a brilliant second chance romance with heartache and redemption filled humor and love, and soooo many steamy scenes, I needed to fan my kindle.

I've enjoyed reading One Blissful Night, an enemies to lovers and second chance at love novel.

I liked following Reynolds and Braxton's story. They were high school sweethearts but during a party before to go to college Braxton breaks Reynolds' heart. Now after seven years fate made them meet again and he is bent to make amends for all the hurt he provoked but is Reynolds ready to forgive and forget?
I loved the banter, the pranks and chemistry between the two main characters.

Thanks to the epilogue I can't wait to read A. M. Hargrove next story, I hope it will be released soon.

This book was everything and pulled on my heart strings so hard. I fell in love with the story, the characters and everything about this story. Brax was a perfect alpha who you wanted to hate and my heart broke for Reynolds. This story had it all entwined in the story line and created for a magical escape.

It didn't make for a blissful night of reading...

This is the 1st publication I have read by this author. I really wanted to like this because I have a soft spot for second chance stories. However, there were so many things wrong with this story although I did grind through to 77% before I gave up. The humor seemed too forced and so just fell flat for me. The dialog was so very juvenile that I thought the writer must be very young/immature. I didn't understand what one reviewer was trying to say about the ridiculousness of the weiner comment until I read it and yeah, I agree it was asinine. In addition, I just don't see any redemption for the way he broke up with her. Age and alcohol doesn't excuse the fact that Ren was supposed to be someone Brax cared about. I would think there would have to be some serious psychological derangement to talk about someone you loved that way in public. It reminds me of Trump's "locker-room" comment about p*ssies (of course, neither age since he was old, love since he only loves himself, alcohol or apologies were involved with Trump). How long are we going to tolerate and excuse this type of disrespect? When Brad and Ren meet 7 years later he does FINALLY apologise and take responsibility for his past behavior as he should have done but I got tired of his groveling to have a relationship again. That song "Too Late to Apologise" kept playing in my head. It wasn't that I didn't think he should make reparation but to hope for a relationship with her or for her to get involved with him seemed egregious and suicidal respectively to me. I could just visualize his being weak again especially given his career exposure and could never really trust him for her. If this was my daughter, would I feel comfortable about her getting involved with him again? H*ll, no! That is what bothered me throughout this story. The only good thing I can say is that there were only a few grammatical errors especially given it was a KU tale.

I don't like giving a negative review but the purpose for the author and reviewers considering selection is honesty. I offer my opinion without malicious intent and as constructive criticism. And again it is only MY opinion; others are entitled to feel differently.

Wow - I loved this story so much! A.M. Hargrove's books are not to be missed.
From high school sweethearts to enemies to starting over. Reynolds and Braxton "Brax" had it all until he broke her heart. Now 7 years later they are neighbors and she is not happy, but he is! He wants to make things right. Will Reynolds ever be able to forgot all the hurt and pain of the past? Their story had me crying, laughing out loud and cheering until the end! The best emotional rollercoaster ride ever!!!

The last single West sister gave us a run for our money.

Reynolds is fantastically funny, romantic, strong and sweet. Shes basically everything. Brax is boarding on perfection!

These two were a perfect combination of love, fun and just plain silliness. From the first second of their "second meeting" sparks and denial was flying!

Like all the others in this West family universe, I loved it!

A.M. Hargrove stand up and take a bow. Once again you have created characters and a storyline that lock the reader in from the opening pages. Reynolds and Braxton's emotional journey take them from high school sweethearts to enemies and it is what they do once they are reunited that turns those enemies into lovers. With a roller coaster ride of emotions and characters that the reader will instantly fall in love with this was another book in the West Sisters Series that is a must read. This wil be a series i will read and re-read again and again.

Brax knows how to listen to his woman's body, “we’re having shrimp in a light tomato sauce.” My belly gave out a loud growl. “Guess that’s my cue to get dinner on the table.” The woman likes to make fun of her man, "I noticed the huge bulge in his pants as he stood after grabbing my bag, so I wasn’t the only one affected. “You need to pull your shirt out. Someone has a stiffy.” I liked this book, I loved Brax.

I couldn’t put this book down.

Reynold and Braxton have some serious history together that ended bad 7 years ago. They end up seeing each other and Reynold hates him. Braxton o the other hand is defensive but drawn to her. Can they get over the past to love and trust each other. Absolutely love the characters and storyline. This book has all the feels especially a great sense of humor. Highly recommended.

This is one of those reads that you don't know if your heart should be clenching of laughing out loud. It was a good mixture of both with humor keeping things light, I can say that EVERYONE needs a friend like our leading ladies bestie, because she is freaking hilarious and loyal!

When the guy that broke your heart and ruined your life moves in as your neighbor, it is not just an average and ordinary day. When the guy that broke your heart apologizes and still looks at you like you are his world, how in the heck do you protect your heart again? Let's just say that Reynolds is definitely in a pickle. Can Brax prove that letting her go was the biggest mistake of her life?

AHHH I adored this book. Like I mentioned above, One Blissful Night is such a wonderful combination of humor and heart and I freaking loved it! 4 outta 5 stars from me! :)

PS: Thank you to AM Hargrove and Candi Kane PR for allowing me an advanced copy of the book to read and review honestly!

This is my first A.M Hargrove book and I really enjoyed it and whilst it is the third in the series you can read it and enjoy it as I did.
The chemistry between Brax and Reynolds is off the charts from the start. The characters are very well developed and you can’t help but feel along with them.
It made me laugh, gave me heartache and made me sigh wistfully as I gave my heart to Brax.
The plots was for the most part quite strong and the relationship between Brax and Reynold evolved at a perfectly believable pace. She was hurt and needed time to heal and he had to grovel which was really well shown. I was completely invested in their relationship and wanted more.
However, the book lost a star because I believe the secondary plot lines were resolved a bit too conveniently and too fast following the escalation of the damaging issues it could have cause. I was a little disappointed by that.
But all in al it was a very good and entertaining contemporary romance I would advise my friends to read.

~ 5 Second Chance Stars ~

I know I have said this before, but every time I read a book by A.M. Hargrove, they just keep getting better and better. I LOVE her books and her writing style. Her stories and characters always suck me in and I fall in love with all of them!!!

One Blissful Night is the last book in her West Sisters Series. It’s an enemies to lovers second chance romance. If you love either of these genres, then you are going to want to read this book!!! There was the perfect mix of angst, humor, romance and steam to make you keep turning the pages.

This book is a complete standalone novel and it doesn’t have to be read in order. Even though Sylvie and Evan make appearances in this story, you don’t have to read their book to enjoy this story. This book is told in Dual POV. I thought the flow and pace of the story was perfect.

In this book we follow the journey of Reynolds and Braxton. Reynolds and Brax were high school sweethearts until Brax did something that completely destroyed Reynolds. Now 7 years later Reynolds is faced with seeing Brax again. She is not happy!! Brax on the other hand is thrilled because now he can make things right for what happened in the past. Can Brax break down Reynolds walls?? Can Reynolds ever trust Brax again?? Will these two get their HEA?? Read this book to find out.

I loved that we got to see more of Sylvie and Evan. I also liked getting to know Reynolds BFF Sutton. I hope we see her again in another book or her own someday.

I would of course recommend this book/series to all romance readers out there. Each of these books offers up something everyone would love to read about. If you are a fan of A.M. Hargrove then you know you are in for a treat when you pick up one of her books. Make sure to add this book to your TBR list!!!

When Reynolds fell in love with Brax she fell hard and even though they were still young when she thought of her future it always included him. He made a mistake that had devastating consequences and left her with a broken heart. It has taken years for her to leave the past where it belongs and find happiness personally and professionally only to have it all turned upside down when he returns to town.

Brax’ life has always centered around football but with his future he jeopardy and finding himself neighbors with Reynolds it causes him to re-assess what is truly important. There is nothing he regrets more than hurting Reynolds and there is nothing he wants more than to convince her to give him a second chance.

Hot chemistry, witty banter and two characters who have always belonged together even if they made a few mistakes along the way.

I enjoyed this book better than One Shameless Night. This one was a little up my alley...

It's a second chance romance for old high-school flames Braxton and Reynolds... I actually did a double take and thought Reynolds was a guy, then I remembered she was Piper's and Sylvie's sister.

I just have to say that pranks were funny but considering their age and the point at where their lives were, I thought it was little bit childish... but overall it's an easy read. It's sweet, fun, sexy and emotional... and it'll make you see that what's meant to be will always find it's way regardless on how long it takes.

ONE BLISSFUL NIGHT by AM Hargrove is book Three in the West Sisters Series. This is the story of Brax and Reynolds. I have read the previous book but feel you can easily make this a standalone book.
Reynolds and Brax where high school sweethearts until Brax went and broke her heart in the most awful way. Now seven years later Reynolds is on the brink of getting to normal place in her life over her hurtful past but who reenters it but Brax. Brax went off to be a professional football player but is not back to recover from being hurt. This open Brax up to take his second chance at getting the women of his dreams but Reynolds isn't to quick to trust her heart again.

When I first started it was hard to take Reynolds serious; she came off as a bit immature with some of the things she did when Braxton returned into her life. But as the chapters passed you actually get to like her and her goofball ways. Braxton was awesome from beginning to end and even better once Reynolds got over herself and they finally reconnected. She was holding a grudge from since high school!!!! Lol...... but Braxton was able to explain and got thru to her. She was a funny character and Braxton was the opposite which made them a very good team.

This is my first book from this author for me and I was hooked from the beginning. I will be picking more up now. The characters are so well developed and the story told so well that it was hard realizing it was just a story. I could feel every emotion and felt myself getting frustrated, angry, aroused, and everything in between. The characters and the story comes to life. I love enemies-to-lovers and this also happens to be a second chance story so the history there makes it even better.

Yeah I'm sure some banter are funny but I kind of felt I'm reading two grade schoolers.. and I kind of miss the shift from hating each other to kind of being friends to hero still loving her so much.. I don't get the heroine hating the hero so much having hurt her deeply and then gets soft with him after just one incident where he took care of her in a way.. but oh my, despite of the reason and numerous apologies, what he did was kind of irredeemable to me considering their kind of relationship during highschool was rather deep.. and the pranks he did to her to retaliate despite knowing he really hurt her in the past, just to get some laughs?.. he shouldn't be acting as a 10 year old like her, if he's really sorry.. and his shift of feelings at a party getting jealous?.. where did that come from when he's all indifferent to her from the start?.. he's even going out of his way to avoid her in many chapters and just does his thing.. I really didn't feel the so called love the hero claims he still has for her.. and I don't know, the writing style, it's like reading a day to day report of activities.

So I guess I'll be a minority here.. but I'll still check out some of the author's works.

I'm really surprised how many 4 and 5 star reviews this book has. It wasn't horrible, but it was mostly boring. The teenaged drama was the most interesting part. The rest seemed to be sex (and very inexperienced sex considering the supposed experience of the pair) and pure immaturity.

Also, the dialogue and some of the writing just felt really amateurish to me.

Braxton and Ren

Braxton was not likable through nearly half of the book. He kept saying SORRY, but his actions were Not Sorry. And what he did to Ren was really awful. It wasn't forgivable. Alcohol shows who you REALLY are, it doesn't make you into someone you are not.
It kept her from going to College. She had to go to Counseling.
Braxton was not a Hero, he was a Zero.
Young Girls kill themselves over his type of actions. He never felt one moment of genuine deep anguish or actual remorse. He just wanted her back so HIS life would be better.

Leopards 🐆 seldom change their spots.

I don't think this Narrator was a good fit for Braxton. His voice was too nice and kind. Someone who could do something as awful as Braxton wouldn't sound like that.

Bottom line: Braxton makes very little effort to get her back. He says he wants her back but doesn't put any effort in doing any for her.. They just basically eat alot. She falls into a relationship with him claiming fear, yet running to that on coming train.

Ren says: I've been so selfish and foolish this whole time, can you forgive me??? ( face palm)

Second chance at true love

Another absolutely amazing story by A M Hargrove. The West sisters are so different but support each other through thick and thin. Reynold and Brax are the epitome of second chance lovers, they work so hard for even the glimmer of hope at a future.
I love Sutton she is an amazing best friend, I hope she gets her own story some day.
