Course Completion: An Instructor’s Role in College Student Retention

Rate this book
Every day, the administration asks instructors to do the seemingly impossible. They tell us to increase retention. “We’re losing too many students. Admissions bring them in the front door, and you let them out the back door.” No one trains us on a plan for how we will accomplish this Herculean feet. The admissions department blames faculty. Faculty blames admissions. Everyone blames students. The quest for retention is too gigantic for individuals to grasp. Responsibility diffuses and permeates through all departments.
This text focuses on what instructors can do in their own world of academia to help increase student retention.
