Susan Copperfield is the royal romance, urban fantasy loving alter ego of award-winning & USA Today bestselling novelist R.J. Blain.
Under the super not-so-secret identity of Susan, the Royal States of America is explored, where the work of sixteen founding royal families preserved the United States from destruction and civil war when magic swept over the world.
In the Royal States, life, love, and magic always finds a way.
2021 bk 325. I have all of the books in this collection in print, except for 1 and 6 which are not available in print. I enjoyed the opportunity to read these in ebook format on my Ipad, which is a better experience than on my phone. I thoroughly enjoyed both of the books, and will definitely read these again, probably when i go on vacation as I have the entire series at my fingerprints.
I can’t even pick a favorite couple, because there are things I love about each of them. If I absolutely had to, it’d either be Pat and Jessica or Makenzie and William. The Royal States is what happens after magic and a second civil war explodes in the US. Magic and strength of it determines rank in the caste system, though our heroes and heroines are always trying to make it better for everyone by trying to rewrite old laws that cause more inequality than good. Once again, this author has created a fantastic world populated with interesting, realistic people facing realistic issues that make them relatable in spite of the magic they possess.
This is a fun and engaging set of novels taking place in a magic-laden alternate reality. And in amongst the expected adventure, romance and humor are some insights into social shortcomings applicable to our own reality as well. I thoroughly enjoyed all the stories in this collection and expect to reread them with equal enjoyment. RJ Blain, writing here as Susan Copperfield, also writes under her own name and (without the magical content) as Bernadette Franklin.
One of the best collections I have read. Each and every book is a enjoyable read. Lots of excitement and humor. Sorry to reach the end. You want to read each book slowly to fully enjoy it and make them last
I loved this book, each of the stories are fantastic and follow on one after the other. Combining all the stories into one book is great, I can read and reread at my leisure. This series is awesome, a big thank you to Susan Copperfield for a wonderful series.
I loved reading the Royal States collection by Susan Copperfield (aka RJ Blain). Excellent plots, action, adventure smart and warped humor, romance, cheering on the interi
Love Susan Copperfield's (RJ Blain's) Royal State World. Such a unique take on the Urban Fantasy genre. Always on my pre-order list of authors. Can't wait for the next one.
I love the world and character building in these books! As a Texan I would like to be insulted by the obvious horse craziness but it’s too close to reality for me to be able to lol. Most definitely taking a top spot on my favorite list and looking forward to the next ones coming out.
