3.5 breeeeeeding stars

Phew… I think my kindle got pregnant with the amount of breeeeeeding kink in this book… holyyyyy molyyyyy 🔥.

Um… well, there’s a plot in here somewhere 😅. Let me go find it 🤣.

Kayla (21) had been living with Oliver (29) and her brother when her brother got into a car accident after working a double shift at the hospital he worked at and passed away ☹️. Weeks later, Kayla and Oliver are trying to move on in their lives. One thing’s clear though- they both want each other 👀 and have been wanting each other for YEARS.

Kayla’s remained a v; she’s been waiting for the right person, and she hopes that man’s Oliver. Oliver’s been wanting her for years, but because of her brother, he’s never done anything 😅. He’s at the point where he can’t handle not touching Kayla anymore 😬, so he’s decided to leave 😏. That is until he sees a picture of Kayla from the night before 🫣… And now he needs to make sure she’s still “innocent.” So he does the only sensible thing a man can do…

I wish for a few things: for it to be longer and to get more clarity on Oliver’s past 😐. We know she’s a v, but about him?? He’s been wanting her, but has he been celibate? 😑 I reeeally hope he was, because they use no protection 😐. Sigh. I’m gonna pretend he is 🤣.

Overall, I enjoyed this. I just had to make sure no one was listening as I read it 🤣 because 🥵🔥.

It was meh, reduced to just sex and not much else.

And that's a pity because had it been a full-length, I'd have loved it completely and given it a 5.

Because the backstory was good. I just wanted to read it and experience everything instead of being told what happened.

Such a shame....

But I'll be generous and round it up to 3 because if you like erotica, then it might me an enjoyable quick read.

This quick audio was a great way to slowly get out of my reading slump. The trope — brother’s bestfriend & secret crush — is one that I enjoy a lot, especially if you add some spice to it. It was very hot and sexy and I cannot wait to read the rest of the series!

Don’t leave me

This book is a quick read that pulled me in from the first page. Unlike some short stories, this one didn’t make me feel like I was missing any of the story. The author packed the past, present, and future of her characters into these amazing pages. And true to form, the author made this a spicy read that I didn’t want to put down. This was perfect as the bedtime story the author intended it to be and I’m looking forward to the next installment.

Was a bit meh to be honest. The plot had a lot of promise, the execution just didn't fit for me. Maybe if it had been longer then that may have made it better, just to add more information and context. Even their backstory would've been so much better. But the book was okay. I'd say its probably a hit or miss recommendation wise.

This was a quick little read and for the emotion that it was trying to pack with them already being in love and both grieving the loss of Kayla's brother, I think it was too short. I didn't feel any of those emotions so the things that were said between the characters came off a little jarring. Some of the things Oliver was saying felt like red flags for the beginning of an abusive (emotionally or otherwise) relationship. There's possessive and then there's over the top, never letting her have any friends other than him, which is too far. And wanting to get her pregnant immediately, even though they'd just admitted their love to each other also felt like a HUGE red flag.

I enjoyed parts of this but it was a little lacking for me.

Also, I bought this Kindle book and I don't think it was worth the $3.99+tax. I think I still would have paid for this and been okay, but $4?? There's really only like 35 pages of story in this book. I don't think it should have been so expensive for such a short novella.

Quick spicy read. I listed to the audible of this book performed by Jason Clarke.

For the story, it's quick and dirty. Kayla's brother passed a few years ago. Prior to, his best friend Oliver moved in with them and stayed when her brother passed. But now he decides to go back to London. Kayla doesn't want him to go because she's in love with him. Even if he is older, she wants him. Oliver is leaving because he wants her. Morally he feels like he needs to go because he is obsessed with her. Kayla is determined to make him stay.

The spice starts in chapter 2. There is some angst while Oliver tries to do the right thing.

The audio is brief, 1h 18 m. However, I sped it up to 2.2, so it was about 45 mins. The male narrator does both the male and female parts. It was a little strange for a male to play the female spicy scenes, it wasn't the worst thing. He did a great job. British accent included.

He tried to be honorable... - ...until he thought she was selling herself short. Oliver and Kayla have secretly longed for each other for years. But he's her brother's best friend and she's off limits. With Shane gone, he can no longer stand to watch her in her flimsy PJs without taking her wildly. He was going to leave the country (a bit much IMO to keep away from her), until he saw the suggestive text from Justin. No way will that boy get to taste the sweetness of Kayla. She needs a man. She needs Oliver. And he'll have her any way he wants to her unbridled delight.

This story is hot as fire. The narrator's voice alone is enough to make you hum with desire. Coupled with Oliver's dirty talk and Kayla's untried reactions to her chosen beau - crank up the AC! My first offering by Ms. Black, certainly not the last. The Audible version had a few playback issues, the reason for 4 stars.

Short and sweet and sexy. This is a very simple story of a hero who has been pining after his best friend’s little sister and the girl reciprocating his feelings but both never acting on it because of the brother. So when the brother dies, they both mourn for him and soon admit their feelings. The sex scene was steamy and dirty. The hero does a lot of dirty talking and he’s very dominant while the heroine is very sweet and submissive. I love this kind of sex because me and my boyfriend have this sort of relationship. We’ll both say the filthiest things but he is dominant with me and I absolutely adore being submissive. I also like the little sister and brother’s best friend trope because I feel a lot of girls can relate to this. (I’m guilty of this. I used to crush on some of my brother’s friends. Hey, when they’re cute, they’re cute.)

I chose the audio route on this because Jason Clarke is the narrator...I made the correct choice.

This is a quick listen (or read if you go that route). Oliver is Kayla's older brother's best friend. He has harbored his feelings for her out of loyalty to her brother, who is no longer with them. She in turn has also been crushing on Oliver. There is an age difference and he knows that she is inexperienced and wants to stay loyal to her brother....even in death. Soon Kayla learns the reason he is wanting to return to England is because of his attraction to her and she is having none of that.

They lay it all out in the open....their feelings for each other, what exactly Oliver wants from her, and what she is willing to give to him. If you are needing a quick read I highly recommend this.

The narrator for the audiobook was amazing. This was more a novella than anything and even then there wasn't much plot to it. Kayla was in love with her older brothers best friend Oliver and he's had a thing for her too. However, he is about to leave to go back to London because he doesn't want to be with her. Until he does. Oliver is the kind of guy that is great in books but in real life I would absolutely hate him. The entirety of this book was sex, trying to get her pregnant, and that's it. In the epilogue it's the day of her college graduation, 7 weeks later, we find out they got married in Vegas, and she takes a pregnancy test and it's positive. And they have sex again. That was the whole book. Sex was the plot.

What a wonderfully delicious dirty little quickie!

When Oliver plans to move back to London, his late best friend's little sister, Kayla is shocked. Ever since her brother's death, Oliver and Kayla have supported each other in their grief. Kayla's had a crush on Oliver forever, and she's afraid if Oliver leaves, she may never see him again. She has to figure out a way to keep him from leaving, but she's not sure what.

What Kayla doesn't know is that Oliver's been keeping a secret crush quiet for years. This story was very hot. Oliver is really possessive, and when he and Kayla get together, bloody hell!

Jason Clarke is amazing as Oliver. His British accent is scorching.

It’s was a very short but sweet sexy book. Her big brother just died and his best friend, they all lived in the same house now he wants to move back to England and she wants him to stay.

She’s just a few weeks shy of graduating college (thank goodness she’s in her 20’s and she wasn’t in high school! I hate those books!) she’s 21 but still a virgin she been hoping to give it to her brothers best friend and what better way to make him stay then to give it to him.

He tried to warn her off that if she gave it to him he would keep her forever! But she likes the sound of that.

Right off the bat, Oliver wants to be sure Kayla didn’t let some douchebag touch her after getting jealous and pissed after he sees she was sent a topless photo of herself, so he demands she take her shirt off for him to inspect for whisker burn. Yes please.

The insta love and possession starts quick and doesn’t stop. It was a fulfilling, quick listen (on Scribd).

Oliver’s moving because he’s helped Kayla get over the loss of her brother and his best friend, he knows his feelings towards her are anything but brotherly. Oliver knows that Kayla is innocent, and his needs are dark and not what she needs.
What happens when they both work out they want each other as much as the other.
