This book is about the people’s on the frontier banding together and forming many alliances in order to push the Romans back and take back all the lands they lost in prior conflicts. Great characters and wonderful descriptions.
I always feel like I'm being transported back to Ancient Rome when I read a book from the Centurion Series. It's a very well written series with lots of action, political intrigue, drama, and an impressive amount of detail of what life was like in Ancient Rome and Britannia during Roman occupation. A lot of the characters existed during this time, which adds another element to the story. I'm already reading the next book in the series (The Border Wolves).
Bugger i have finished reading these three books,I didn't want to put them down but I also didn't want them to finish, what a quandary! I would recommend to anyone who enjoys a really good adventure story with a family loyalty thread, war, fighting and intrigue.More please
If you enjoy Simon Scarrow you will love reading Damion Hunter. The centuries trilogy has everything, brilliant story line, blood and guts. A hero who fights the enemy but also his own side who are ruthless. BRILLIANT CAN'T WAIT FOR THE BOOK.
Enjoyed all three books in this trilogy, fast moving storyline, plenty of content and intrigue, all the characters worked very well, a big thank you for the hours of diversion.
This third episode takes its time getting to the blood and glory elements, but packs a lot in beforehand. Intrigues mix with passions and simple domestics to make a mixed but fulsome and satisfying read.
a hard read. a bit of a slog. I found it very hard to keep up with all the different characters and none of them felt like a main one to follow through a story. also not many action scenes and the big battle at the end was a disappointment only lasted a few pages
