Backcountry Escape by Nicole Helm is the third book in the series Badland Cops. The series focuses on 5 brothers (Wyatt) who have escaped their father’s ruthless gang called Sons of Badland. Felicity is a park ranger in the Badlands’ National Park. She spends her day hiking and helping people appreciate the beauty and follow the rules of the Park. It is her dream job, until she runs across a boot left on a trail while she was hiking for the second time and knows there is a dead person nearby. Felicity knows she needs help, so she calls Brady
Gage is the Wyatt brother who shows up. He is nearest and immediately helps her away from the scene of the crime. He brings her home to the ranch where both of their families sit down to help her out. Since all the Wyatt brothers are in law enforcement, Felicity soon finds out things are worse, there is evidence that points to her being the murderer. Gage and Felicity decide to go out into the Badlands to find the truth, but even the weather is against them. They find no answers until they find both their fathers (horrid people!) and that’s when things get really rough.
I think this third book in the series is my favorite novel in the Badland Cops series. I loved the strength that Felicity found within herself. I love how Gage made a connection with her allowing her to be strong and augmenting her strength with his. Backcountry Escape by Nicole Helm was a great read.
This is a neat book. For Felicity Harrison has thought she was in love with one brother but she is in for a surprise. Gage Wyatt is a interesting character to get to know for he is special in a unique way. Trouble begins at the start of the book and seems to keep going. Felicity is quiet but don't let that fool you. For there is a hidden strength there. As they face the challenges that seem to keep coming the love seems to grow. There is alot of twists to this story and its what kept me wanting to read more. For Gage has a hidden strength that comes out as the story develops. Its a great story and worth reading. I'm curious to see who is next on the list for the stories have been fascinating! J
Backcountry Escape was fire from the first page! I love this series and it keeps getting better with each book. I totally expected Felicity to get together with Brady in this book and was taken aback when his twin, Gage, is the one to come to her rescue. Oh, but wait, he's not rescuing her because Felicity handles her own business. He's supporting her as she's framed by his father, Ace, head of the Sons in the Badlands who is in jail, but still manages to pull the strings until his will is done.
Felicity is a park ranger, a badass park ranger, in the Badlands. She doesn't scare easily, but having grown up with the Wyatt brothers, she's smart enough to know Ace is someone to be afraid of. When her past walks back into her life, everything she thinks she knows ceases to exist. Nothing makes sense. Nothing but the fact that she's on Ace Wyatt's radar and that's not a place anyone wants to be. Framed for murder, she has to rely on the Wyatt boys and her family to keep her out of jail. She won't survive in jail, she depends on the great outdoors to stay sane, and Gage knows it.
Gage. Police detective. Son of Ace Wyatt. Twin of Brady. Jokester. In love with Felicity, and dreamy AF. The greatest part about Gage is that he notices Felicity. He really sees who she is and how she has changed since they were kids. No one else in his family seems to be able to see it.
Felicity always not so secretly lusted after Brady, but she comes to realize that's because he was safe and she always looked for safety after what happened to her as a child. Gage wasn't safe. Gage was dangerous to her heart, but his support and help in her time of need were too much to ignore.
As always, the action was practically nonstop from beginning to end as they all fought Ace and the Sons to save Felicity from Ace's revenge. She had a few tricks of her own up her sleeve and while they got her in hot water sometimes, she didn't let the Wyatt brothers take over for her.
Now I'm SERIOUSLY looking forward to Brady's book. I *think* I know who will be making his blood boil, but as always with Ms. Helm, you never really know until you crack open the book. If you're looking for a family saga with lots of hot guys, badass women, and a bad guy to end all bad guys, you definitely want to check out the Badland Cops novels!
Backcountry Escape is the third book in the series, but I read it as a standalone. I may look into reading the other books, but I had no problem understanding the book skipping the first 2 books.
The book starts off with Felicity hiking in the badlands. She is a park ranger, and loves the outdoors. On her hike she sees a boot near the trail, and her gut knew someone had died. She was right. She called in the location, and also called her good friend Brady. However, Brady couldn’t come to her quick enough. He asked his twin bother Gage to go and offer support. I loved the relationship that grew between Felicity and Gage throughout the story. Both Gage, and Felicity had been abused by their fathers. The fathers had some sick plan to hurt them again. The suspense, action, and romance were good throughout this book. At one point I thought the book was over, but it kept going. I loved that.
“Backcountry Escape” by Nicole Helm is book 3 of the 6 book Badlands Cops miniseries.
Park ranger Felicity Harrison is being framed for murder and Gage Wyatt, cop and family friend, vows to help clear her name. He’s had an attraction for her for years, while she crushed on his twin brother, Brady. But when Felicity realizes how much Gage understands her, she also realizes her crush on Brady held no merit. As they work together to clear Felicity’s name, they learn how far a reach Ace Wyatt has.
“Backcountry Escape” is a solid installment to the series.
Too many expectations in the beginning which started great but ending up going down hill. There are some great characters that are well rounded but Felicity's thoughts on on a loop and ends up boring. The action is good and the plot intriguing but all the dialogue is too thick with repeats. Not good for capturing the readers attention.
Gage has always loved Felicity even though she thought she liked his twin, Brady. Someone frames Felicity for a murder so Gage helps her until Ace, his father, escapes the jail and grabs them both.
This book was very well written! Thrilling, mysterious, and romantic, this book had all the aspects that a mysterious romance should. I was very focused in on this book and I kept a strong interest.
