Loved

I really loved this plotline. Shep was just adorable. I love a guy that knows what he wants and prayerfully goes after it. He just had such a steadfast nature about him. And he was humble. This guy just sounds very well rounded and stable.

Bailey was... something else. (Triggers ahead) I was a little confused reading her and following along with the stories. She has legitimate reasons to keep men at bay, her daughter needs stability and consistency. But, her insecurities and hesitancy don't reflect reality. She is crazy insecure about not being with someone who will leave her. Understandable, right? Most people are. Early on, it's implied that she feels that way because Libby's sperm donor left her. And that implies that they were in a relationship to begin with. Come to find out, they were in a relationship for a little while, but he didn't leave her out of not wanting to be responsible. He assaulted her and wanted nothing to do with her after. (And this just rubs me the wrong way. Libby's sperm donor raped Bailey. It's very clear that is what happened. She said no, he continues against her will. Yet, the book doesn't mention the assault or crime that it is. It's "he took advantage of" or "it wasn't her choice". Both of those are kind ways to water down what happened: rape. Acting as if it wasn't that big of a deal was very frustrating.) So, why she feels like she was abandoned by her attacker is beyond me. And the only time we see that the attack had an impact on her that makes sense is when Shep tried to kiss her and she has a full on panic attack.
So, I just couldn't reconcile how someone who was raped would feel like her "partner" abandoned her, just have a panic attack when someone else touched her. It almost felt like throwing in the rape line was done to have the character have a daughter but preserve her reputation as a Christian? Buy there were two storylines there and they didn't mesh. Either, she was assaulted and fearful of men due to that. Or she was in a relationship, made a mistake and got pregnant, and the guy left, thus feeling abandoned. Blending those two don't mix well.

Aside from all of that, I did enjoy the journey, mainly because of Shep and his faith and utter respect her had for Bailey. The ending was sweet and surprising. They didn't marry right away, but seemed to court. It was very sweet and different.

I loved this sweet story of trust and hope! Bailey has had a hard life as a single mother to her spunky daughter, Libby. She's just trying to get through college, so she can move out of her parent's home and support herself and daughter. She's finishing up her classes and finds herself in a science class. She meets the adorable Shep. He's on the baseball team. He also is a senior and just has to take this one science class. They end up as lab partners and really hit it off, despite all the accidents. Shep trust God to help him find someone to be with. Bailey is trying to trust God to help her. Can these two overcome the past to make a bright future? What about Libby? Can Shep really be in a relationship where a child is involved? Come along this faith filled road in Alabama, to find out where God leads you. Sometimes the path God has is store is better than anything you can come up with on your own! I highly recommend this book! Happy Reading!

This is an interesting story of love, trust, moving on, and baseball. I enjoyed the story and especially liked Shep Kelly who was such a strong character who turned to God for answers to some tough questions. His relationship with Bailey was interesting and I really enjoyed how the story ended. I also liked how close Shep was to his family and how his sisters and their husbands had helped to raised him when his parents died a long time ago. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review. This is the first book I have read by this author and it will not be my last one!

Shep is in his final year at college and longs for more that study and playing baseball - he wants someone special. When he meets Bailey in lab class he wonders if she might be that person. Unfortunately there are a few incidents - the beaker of water she spills over him and the cut to her hand. Can they move past clumsyness into friendship and maybe more?
The characters had realistic emotions and feelings and were easy to relate to. I was pulled back into the time I was that age and the very real issues that challenge all young adults. I loved the way Shep and Bailey turned to God and prayer when life got stressful.
I enjoyed reading this clean sweet romance.

Loved this book!!! Shep and Bailey's story is great!! Hannah points out that God can take something bad, and totally bring something good from it. Shep was just the right man for Bailey; it just took Bailey awhile to realize that she was/is good enough. Loved Russell's advice to Shep to pray for Bailey. Bailey needed to learn with her head what she knew in her heart, and only God could help her. Great book!!!!

Bailey's Dilemma

Bailey is a single Mom due to date rape, but Libby is the light of Bailey's life. Almost ready to graduate from college, she hasn't even dated after the guy who ruined her life in that respect. Then Shep comes along in her last semester biology class as her lab partner. They just click. But Bailey is afraid to trust him. Things go wrong because of her fears. The main problem with the book is how similar it is to Paige and Russell's story. Still it has good advice for the YA group of readers.

“Come With Me” is another good book by Hannah Jo Abbott. Shep the college senior and baseball player struggles to try to find out the next step of his life after graduation. One of his desires is to have a wife and family but has not met anyone who caught his interest. That is until he is assigned Bailey as his biology lab partner. But Bailey is shy and clumsy. She also has a 3 year old little girl who she loves. Their relationship grows despite some rocky road.

Sheps turn

I loved this series and wished there was more. Shep was orphaned as an early teen. Raised by an older sister, he gets a scholarship playing baseball to go to college. Will he find his love of his life in college? Read to find out! ☺️

This book got a low rating because not only was it read by AI, but there were so many ads while listening to it. Then it was so short! I do love a single mom love story though, and I had previously listened to the books before this. I also love that it is a story about Faith and God.

I really enjoy seeing how Shep matures in this book from how he was in the first. I also enjoy the interactions between him and bailey. Great book.

This story was really sweet and I liked both Shep and Bailey - they were very endearing and sympathetic characters. However, I felt like things were way too rushed in the second half of the story. The build up to Shep and Bailey's relationship was well done, but then things got pretty rushed at the end after some issues came up. The rushed denouement diminished the potential emotional impact of the story for me, hence the lower rating.
