There’s a contract out on Brett Jacobs. He knows it has something to do with Mallette, but he keeps hearing the name of Harper. There are multiple teams of hitmen scouring the city streets for him, all looking for a chance at a big payday. Even Gunner now has a contract out on him.

Brett Jacob is Back!!
Brett & his amazing dog Gunner have a price on their heads! They are being hunted all over town! Bad enough Brett has a 1 million dollar contract on his head - Gunner has a bounty of $200,00 on his furry loveable head too! Brett had to track down and eliminate the hit teams before he or Gunner get taken. In!!! Frank's is helping him put trying to help in his usual way too. By trying to find out who is sending the teams to kill Jacob's & Gunner. Fun fast paced story.

Mallette must die. It's bad enough that he killed the Eliminator's family and practically created the Eliminator, but now he is crossing the line by putting a hit out on the Eliminator's dog. Is he crazy enough to want a John Wick situation on his hands? This new threat by the name of Harper comes into town to wreak havoc on the Eliminator's life as she is sent from New York to take him out once and for all with overwhelming force by thugs looking for the ultimate pay day.
Will these dummies ever learn from the Eliminator's body count that taking him on is at their own risk and not worth it for ANY dollar value? Mallette's maulers were some of the toughest, meanest and ruthless wise guys in the mob and he took them all down. Mallette is all that is left of his original crew with his new crew all recruited while in prison. The smart play for Mallette is to just lay low and not pursue any more engagement with the Eliminator until he is out of prison, but his ego won't allow him to do so. The threats between Mallette and the Eliminator rages on likely until one of them is dead which makes the Eliminator such a compelling series.
The Contract is a great crime series filled with action, suspense and intrigue which crime story lovers come to expect. I am off to the next book and highly recommend this series.

The action starts pretty much from the outset and keeps going constantly throughout the book. Jacobs is up against quite formidable numerical odds which sometimes seem more than one man could realistically overcome, but this doesn't detract from the enjoyment of this latest instalment of the ongoing Eliminator saga. It will be interesting to see where Mallette takes it next given the possible hints dropped during this book.

Who is Harper and why is she trying to kill Brett Jacobs? Turns out she is a crime family assassin sent to eliminate Jacobs. Jacobs finds out a million dollar bounty has been placed on his head. Harper has brought in twenty plus killers in a winner take all plan to take him out. Backed by his dog Gunner and with help from his few friends Jacobs starts to whittle down the odds. The question is whether he can beat the odds.

I'm enjoying the Eliminator series. The banter between Brett and Eddie makes me chuckle.
