When the apocalypse hit and Caitlin Meadows found herself surviving on the run with Jack Booker, she never expected they'd last a week without tearing each other's heads off, let alone that they'd fall for one another.
But now she can't imagine a life without him, and she's willing to do whatever it takes to keep her lover alive in a zombie infested world.
In an attempt to find more of their friends, Caitlin and Booker must traverse a bleak landscape in search of a secretive group of survivors who may hold the answers they need.
But threats of the undead, desperate scavengers, and illness aren't the only dangers in this new, brutal reality.

It’s funny how I seem to inhale this genre in a day, but shove a romance book or another genre under my nose and it’ll take me a few days to get through it..

This had a little bit more action in it than the previous book as they travel through states looking for the rejects in the hopes that Nicole’s husband Scott is still amongst the living and where he might be held.

A slow burn with enough grit that pulled me within its grasp effortlessly, the storyline, the characters we’ve come to love, the geeks (zombies) and evil people they met on their travels had for a nail biting thrilling read.

Another cliffy but thank god this whole series is released. I’m definitely getting my zombie fix with this series!

Blood Moon starts off with an injured Caitlin desperately finding her way home to Booker. During this time she will have to come to terms with what she did in order to survive. Once Booker is back on his feet they will continue on to hopefully find Nicole's husband. I really enjoyed Blood Moon and I love how close Caitlin and Booker have become.

3.75 Estrellas!!

3-3.5*

Felt like not a lot happened, but I appreciate the humanity and good natured personality of the MCs in this apocalypse setting!

3.5 rounded down!

Okay yeppp this was significantly better than part one for me. I’m still having some issues with the timeline, but the plot just felt so much smoother.

I liked the drama with the ex, the interactions with other survivors, and the introduction of some interesting tech (though how probable the use of this would be is debatable).

I think that this book is a lot less about the romance/relationship between Booker and Caitlin, and more about the realities of living in this world (which I enjoyed). However, since it seems to be marketed as a romance, I wouldn’t go into it with extremely high romantic expectations. I do think that books 1/2 should’ve just been one book, especially considering how short each book is.

I think both books have gone into a lot of how humanity would actually react if this was to happen, which I wasn’t expecting in an apocalypse romance. I do think that the authors take on it is one that could be accurate, as horrible as it is to think about. Bad people exist, and in situations like this they would be allowed to make a lot of despicable decisions.

Again with the silly cliff hanger??? I don’t like how either book 1 or 2 have ended, with how completely abrupt it is. My guess is that it’s just a tactic to get readers to move on to the next book (which I will be so it’s working), but that just disappoints me. End the book how you think it should end, not in a way to try to rope in more readers :/

A great sequel to Bloody Sunrise. It picks up right where the first book stops. I love the dynamic between Booker and Caitlin.

This story focuses on saving people from an Ark and finding a more permanent home.

Another cliff hanger 😮‍💨
Again low to mild spicy scenes, the couple is strong with that insta lust surface level feelings, but the apocalypse plot is probably what’s keeping me chugging along at this point.
We’ll call it a case of curiosity kills the kitty at the end of the series if it’s going the way my mind is hoping.
Low stakes, fun read, but probably not gonna short list on the favorite scale.

3.5 ⭐️. This one was better than the first in that I enjoyed seeing relationships progress and adding to our cast of characters. Sometimes the plot gave me whiplash and my eyes started skimming over sentences, but overall it was enjoyable. This one also ended like a tv episode, very abruptly, but that can be forgiven.

I can’t lie, I read this whole series today and can barely remember what this book was about. The overall plot sticks with me, but some of this felt filler.

I’m loving this series of novellas. The relationship between Booker and Caitlin has grown so much and I love seeing it develop. I’m finding that I really enjoy the action of zombies, but when you pair it with a romance, it’s just so good.

Yeah, this one ends in the middle of a scene also. Not my favorite. If I had had to wait, I probably wouldn't be finishing the series. As it is, it's fine to read on my phone when I'm stuck places.

Great series. Booker is the sweetest hero ever! I like the heroine too but I'd have to say the hero does it for me! Some proofreading errors but the writing is good and it flows well.

Blood Moon de Gwendolyn Harper Serie Zombie Apocalypse Romance libro 2

Argumento:

I love this series but I hate the cliffhanger. It would not be so upsetting if it did not take a year to us receive the 2nd installment. This is why it is a four rather than five stars. Finish the storyline a leave a clever tidbit for the next book.

I found myself really struggling with this book compared to the last one. For one, Nicole is a problem because her only focus is finding her husband, which I mean in a sea of millions of people scattering all over and the zombies seems highly unlikely but hey, she deserves to be reunited with her husband, common sense be damned. The second issue, and the biggest is the change in Caitlin. While I understand her having to kill to protect herself in the last book could change her, you would think it would make her more cautious, that she would value life more - especially Bookers but she doesn't. She's like yeah, let's totally go looking for an ark camp and throw caution to the wind. She's being impulsive and stupid and purposely going against Booker with his common sense. And let's also talk about Booker. This man is supposed to be in the military and yet... I don't know he's acting more like just a town hick or something. Where's his training? I would like to think he has some brains to think tactically but he's just.. I don't know. Something is a bit off with him. Almost like he got dumbed down or something.

The fact that they left that group of scared teens, old folks, and a few teachers is disheartening. What? They couldn't spare a bit of time to at least fortify the place? Especially after the zombies attacked, it would've been at least good to do a perimeter check or something. Nope, the best they did was a 30 minute self defense course that was lead by Caitlin (cuz that makes sense - fuck the trained soldier who trained her) and then a "well if you ever leave here, we're going this way, look for a red X".

Not even going to speak about the massive convenience of Booker finding the one woman who can't have kids so he can just raw dog her whenever he wants. I get that the author is trying to think of everything but that was just unnecessary. Could've said it was one of those implants or something, not going for the immediate no hope thing... and the constant reminder of her wanting to keep her last name even though they aren't married or anything - can you be anymore noncommittal? I don't know... the feel for this book is all sorts of off. I just wasn't into it as much as the first one and at 60% of the book I was forcing myself to try to read it and it was honestly killing my reading mood.

Edit: I did finally finish the last 40% and again, the amount of luck these people have is unbelievable. She not only finds the Rejects (or whoever the group was that they were looking for but also Nathaniel (her ex), and reunites Nicole with her husband Scott. It's also funny how this group of Rejects are dumb as doorknobs and it takes Caitlin less than 15 mins to figure out the whole thing about the radio frequency, the clear reason why the ark people are keeping the zombies close, etc...

I will say my love for Booker grows all the damn time. He's just the sweetest man ever, while I'm starting to not like Caitlin more and more. I also hate that this author seems to like making him look weak just to make Caitlin appear stronger, and I hate that everything bad that happens, happens to him.

This in starts right where the first one ends! Oh my just right into the deep end. Caitlin is hurt and trying to find her way back to Booker with the medication. I love that this book doesn’t dwell on misunderstanding or confusion they deal with there emotions upfront with each other they are a team through and through!

Once Booker is back on his feet, as a group they decide to find Nicole’s husband. Along the way they meet different groups of friends who are just trying to survive. They decide to find a group called the rejects and hope they can help the find the Ark and Nicole’s husband.

Man this book ends on another great cliffhanger, I’m downloading the next one now!

I love the banter they have 💕

I can’t even say how much I’m enjoying this series. Yes, it has a few billion to one odds of happening things that occur, but I still was enraptured by the story. As was mentioned in book one, both Caitlin and Booker were favored by the gods, because by all rights they should not be walking around still breathing. Jammed pistol and a plane crash notwithstanding, those two have met with some harrowing flusterclucks and come out unscathed. Nicole’s appearance surprised me in the first book, and there are two more in this one, not to mention a nail-biting cliffhanger that has me scrambling to get to the final book, Bloody Sunset, ASAP!

I started getting frustrated because there were just too many coincidences. The chances of running into Nathaniel after already finding Nicole in completely random states is just too high. The plan at the end didn’t really make sense and they just kind of skipped over the details on how they ended up getting the car. Then for them to find Scott too, just like that. I just feel like it’s too unlikely. I realize it’s fiction, but come on now. Anyways, besides that the story is still interesting. The giant horde of zombies being attracted/repelled by radio signals is creative. I will read the next one but I’m not as excited about it as I was after the first one.

I am not a fan of cliffhangers generally and this one did not give me the “omg I need to know what happens next” feeling, more the “really, right mid-scene?” feeling instead. Also, the pacing in this second installment was pretty slow so I find myself losing interest rather than gaining. There were also a few suspension of belief moments that I just couldn’t set aside, probably because I couldn’t get invested enough in the story. It’s all a little flat for me. I’m glad others have enjoyed this series, but I think I’m moving on.

Again, with the unbelievable plot. The zombie apocalypse has decimated the population and displaced the survivors, but somehow, Caitlin keeps meeting up with people she knew prior to the zombie apocalypse. First, it was her best first. Now, it's her ex-boyfriend, but he doesn't know that they aren't together anymore, lol. Then, towards the end, Nicole is reunited with her husband. All these people are from NY but somehow keep running into each other in the midwest.
