Platinum grew up middle class and spoiled by her father, a hard working plastic surgeon. She wanted for nothing but she has a thing for street guys that even her best friend Ace doesn't understand. When Platinum's boyfriend is sent to prison she's heartbroken and for almost a year, she remains single, but Platinum knows that she must eventually go on with her life and oddly enough, her fascination with thugs hasn't changed in the least. Sy-taj grew up in a house full of women and he watched them run game on men his whole life. Sy-taj wasn't the best looking or most popular teen and for that reason, he didn't have much experience with women. By the time Sy-taj grew into his looks and started getting money, the women were coming in abundance and his mother made sure to let him know, they were only around for the money. Because of his upbringing and insecurities, Sy-taj doesn't know how to handle Platinum. She's beautiful and has her own money and he can't believe that she really wants him for him. This causes Sy-taj to mistreat her and his behavior may cause him to lose the only woman he's ever loved.
I tried to read another book by this author but couldn’t really get into it. I came across this one and the synopsis pulled me in. So I decided to take another chance on the author. I’m so glad I did, because this book was very good. It kept my attention from beginning to the end. I like how she wrote about a male character who wasn’t drop dead gorgeous and dealt with insecurities. To me that was very realistic. A lot of time authors write books and the characters both male and female always be looking models. But that’s ain’t the case. Everyone don’t walk around here looking like models. So I like the fact that she had a real pretty female falling for a guy that wasn’t the best looking guy and she loved him because of him and not because he had money. Sy-taj definitely changed because of Platinum and that was a good thing. There was a few grammar errors like names mixed up at the end but beside that it was good. I would like to read more about Bailey though and hope the author would write a book about her in the future.
This was an entertaining read. I liked that it was a little different with the main male character not being super attractive and dealing with those insecurities. The story was flowing until about 80 percent into the book. At that point it felt like the story was being rushed to come to an end. Even character’s names were being misplaced, making me have to reread certain scenes over again to figure out which character was saying/doing what. It would’ve been a 4 star read for me if the ending wasn’t rushed and the misuse of names, making it hard to follow along. But overall it was a good read and looking forward to reading more by this author.
That damn Rori was crazy as hell. She needed more punishment though. I really need an update on Bailey. Whew Sy'Taj was a whole piece baby. His upbringing was bad and he couldn't love anybody but here comes Platinum changing the game. Absolutely loved loved this book. Great job
This book certainly lived up to the title! Sy was incredibly insecure understandably so with what he witnessed with his sisters and mom. Then it’s like he passed the insecurity in to Platinum. I didn’t know if they would work through it all as they were heavily tested.
The author didn't say when Sataji birthday was but he was a typical Cancer . He was something else he gave that lady platinum the blues. I'm not sure why she kept giving him chance after chance
This was a good story. Platinum and Sy-Taj were a hot toxic mess. I’m glad they both grew up and stopped being insecure. I wish Bailey had found love. I low key was mad that Jalil played her like that and came out a winner.
Platinum and Sy-taj had done a lot of growing up in this series, Not only them but Bailey, Jalil, and Aniyah also. The storyline was very realistic. A must read.
