Review:

"The Vow Series" by Cornelia Smith

Starting with The Vow: Series 1

"The Vow: Until Death do Us Part" by Cornelia Smith

My Rationalization:

I found this story quite impressive in its intriguing and mystery of what a person will do when life is not going accord to their plan. I wasn't sure that this wife [Alisa Hopkins] snapped or just was crazy; however, she was one scorned person that was determined to get her revenge after all was said and done because her husband didn't honor his vows. By the end, will this sociopath be able to get out of this situation, especially when a lawyer like Deputy D. S. Patricia Patterson, where it seems like everyone is against her, is not willing to give up with taking Alisa down for what Alisa had done? Will Patricia be able to figure out what and how Alisa had gotten away with this murder? To get all of the questions answered, you will have to pick up this good read to see how well this author brings it all out and will still leave one wanting to know more as we see at the end that the story to be continued in 'The Promise.'

'The Promise' Series 2

My Speculation:

Well, as this story continues, we find that Alisa Hopkins had made 'The Promise' to go after Deputy D.A. Patricia Patterson, and she does just that. I will say that Aisa was one conniving person that one could ever meet. All of the characters from this whole story were well-defined in their deliverance to this story. From all of the characters from Patricia, Jason Alisa, Robin, Jamellah, Achiton, Chelsey, Dawson, Monroe, Nichole, Rebecca, to a few others, gives us one good read of "The Promise." Now, as we go into the next series 'The Defense,' hopefully, we will see how 'The Vow Series' will all come together definitely featuring Patricia Patterson and oh yes, Ms. Alisa Hopkins.

'The Defense' Series 3

My Speculation:

OK, now we continue in the 3rd series to "The Defense' we find Deputy D.A. Patricia Patterson is arrested. Oh yes, is Alisa Hopkins causing trouble for Patricia? This series will have many twists and turns as we will see that signs left saying 'You'll regret not letting me go' and I Promise.' But who leaves this for Patricia? We will see how a step-brother Russel enters into the picture, and things don't seem quite right to me. I wasn't sure if he was a likable person, and by the end, well, all I will say is that you will be able to make that determination for yourself.

As the story goes, in the end, all will come out, but I will say I didn't understand the forgiveness that Patricia had for two particular people. I also felt neither did her friend Jamellah and mother-in-law agree with her, but OK, if this will help her heal, so be it. I am not sure I believe we need any more to this series. I am satisfied the three sets are enough that tells the story about Alisa Hopkins as well as Patrica Patterson. I think we have learned as much as we need to know about Alisa Hopkins. Did she get away with murder? Well, that is where I will say you will have to pick up this entire series and see for yourself how this author will bring it out to us. One thing that is for sure, this was a 'cat-mouse thriller' that will keep you turning the pages to the very end.

Wow!

Alisa was a piece of work... this action packed non-stop twists was giving me heart palpitations! I felt like I was watching a movie play out! Lol! Very good read! I am totally invested in this story! I feel for Patricia because in a weird way, I think she and Alisa are very similar. They both have something to prove and it was fun reading about them going back and forth!

Book 2 had me on edge. Nothing prepared me for the ending!!! Like my mouth was on the floor... I just wanted to scream because I did not see that ending! The author did a very good job keeping me engaged and so engrossed in the story. Patricia literally should have left well-enough alone!!! Lawd! 😫this is all a game for Alisa, lol..

Book 3
Hmph, I so enjoyed this series!! Like I finished all three books in less than two days! The real killer had us all fooled but I so enjoyed this series!!

This book was a page-turner. There was a lot of drama and twists in the book. Alisa was just straight crazy smart but crazy. I wasn't too fond of Jason. He seemed to be high and mighty at times. My heart went out to Patricia several times throughout the book. She didn't deserve what she was going through. I was glad to see her happy and wanting to forgive in the end. Russel thought he was a mastermind. I don't think he wanted Patricia. He wanted Jason's life he was jealous. Robin was being pulled between Russel and Alisa. She was a single parent who did what it takes to take care of her child.

This book was exhilarating. Full of drama and suspense. The characters in this book are lawyers, judge, maid, and public figures and lots of set up by this rich African lady Alisha. She kill her husband set up detective Monroe and lawyer Patricia to take the fall . Anyways Alisha plans work only for a while but she dismantle families with her revenge. In the end Alisha was freed but the main culprit Patricia unknown brother in law Russell kill Jason to get Patricia. Excellent read. Cornelia Smith this the first book I read written by you and I will be reading more.

I read all three books. The Vow, The Defense, and The Promise. The storyline was good but it was just something about the series that didn’t keep me wanting to read. It didn’t hold my attention even though I strongly wanted to know the outcome. I think wanting to know what happened to Alisa and then later Russell kept me going more than the story itself. But that is just me and could possibly just be my attention span. Like I said the storyline was good.

just when you think you have it figured out….another twist in the story!

After reading this series, I ordered The Black Butterfly. Will read another book by Cornelia Smith once I finish this series. You don’t know if you should root for the villains, not to give away the plot but just when you think you know who did it, another villain enters. Jealousy, sex and greed!

Proofreaders were needed....ASAP

The Vow Series: I Love You To Death, was really good. The only irritation I had, was the misspelling of a lot of words. Someone should have proofread, the series twice! But the storyline to all three books was, was really good. The ending of the last series was surprising.

More Please

Ok, I am starting to believe that Cirnelia is the master of cliffhangers. I am going to need a continuation of this series. Russel is too upset to not seek revenge. He cannot just go away like that. This was a good 3 book series.

Amazing

This series was Amazing it had me on the edge of my seat. Happy they found the right killer and that Alisa and Robin were let go. Russel had me fooled and the entire time he was the one that killed Jason his own brother. This was definitely worth reading.

Under handed mess

From beginning to end you never know who telling the truth, who was set up and Who was genuine. A page turner. It kept me going to the end. Glad the right person got locked up and everyone else has a chance to turn things around in their lives. I think this was a perfect ending.
