A Selkie slave from the realm beneath the waves, Lenny Dolan had no real choice when assigned to lead his crew ashore in search of mysterious runaway, Marisa Bourgeois. Whether failing in his assignment or outright refusal, both options meant his father would be killed. But when Marisa proves to be continually elusive, Lenny finds himself running short of options to save his father’s life. That is until fate leads him to another valuable target – a powerful Salt Child.
Now, Lenny faces a more difficult decision. Where Marisa fled the Salt world understanding she would be hunted for her actions, Lenny’s newest target is an innocent bystander who knows nothing of the grim realm beneath the waves. With time running out, however, Lenny must make an awful decision: save his father’s life by enslaving the innocent Salt Child . . . or return home to face the grisly consequences?
THE NOMAD ENCOUNTER is the third episode in an epic series of lethal merfolk, murderous Selkies, and the innocent souls trapped in their deadly wake. If you like dark fantasy, sprawling world-building and a mythology you never knew existed, then you'll love this action-packed series.
Aaron Galvin learned that he could get away with making up stories at age five and has continued telling them ever since. He is a conflicted Slytherin/Gryffindor, a known rascal, and sometime ne’er-do-well.
Also, he writes. Daily, sometimes, but mostly nightly.
He currently lives in Southern California with his two lovely daughters and an adoring wife, who continues to put up with his antics even though he doesn’t write the kissy-kissy, ‘everyone lived happily ever after’ books of which she much prefers.

The Nomad Encounter (The Salted Series, Episode #3)
Lenny (the Selkie) is ordered to find Marisa(a Silkie), if not there will be dire consequences. His Father's Life is at stake, Lenny really does not have much of a choice but comply. While in pursuit of Marisa he encounters a young "salt" who in all aspects is innocent to all the (bad) below the sea. Lenny is face with a horrible decision one that affects not only him , but innocents as well.
Lenny, Chidi and Sydney are back in this third installment of the Salted series. Also a Nomad, who becomes a shark. Is this Nomad a friend or foe to the salted and human world? A fantastic original story with mystical sea life. The characters are well developed and likable. While there are some who are not so desirable. I highly recommend The Nomad Encounter by Aaron Galvin. I loved the cover art, capturing (image of) the Nomad to perfection.
Aaron is connecting all the books in a nice web so we are beginning to get the bigger picture.
I love how we are seeing the struggle more in the characters because the episodes are focusing more on characters and not everything all at once
The world building is fantastic as is the creation of there being more than it seems in terms of what you are surrounded by
Garrett and how he is seeing things in a new light but also realizing the world is bigger than he thought
Lenny and his struggle with what to do
The pace is wonderful
Story entertaining but draws you in with how the characters really jump off the pages and put you in their shoes
The bad:
Ended to quickly
Overrall:
Loving the series as a serial just as much as when I read the books originally maybe more so because they are more focused and are building the world and plot more and you are now in anticipation of what is to happen next. We see more focus and detail which draws you in more and has you really get involved.
Each episode of this series builds more and more into Aaron Galvin's Salted world. There’s new characters, new troubles, new secrets to unfold and new tensions for our characters to endure. Garrett Weaver, who we met in episode one, is realising there is a lot more to the world around him than he thought. Things become far more dangerous than he could have imagined when he has the encounter of the title. Aaron Galvin continues to weave his magic over this series building more tension for the characters we know. I really can’t get enough of these stories and, of course, recommend them highly.
Episode 3 of the first book Salted. Very action packed, very fun read. Continues immediately from episode 2 and the situation at the aquarium gets messy. Our main characters discover important things about others and themselves. However, this episode felt very short to me... or maybe I just read it too quickly because it was so engrossing.
