Earth sixteen centuries into the future is a frozen wasteland thrown out of its orbit by a mysterious force called Dark Matter. What remains of the human race, as well as plant and animal life, dwells beneath the surface in a cavernous hollow called the Station. Now earth is returning to its original orbit around the sun. Arrival is imminent. Only an act of God can prevent it.

Or an act by someone who believes they speak for God.

Seventeen-year-old Trudy Barnard is training to work in Mission Control, the heart and brain of the Station from which the earth’s return to its original orbit is being orchestrated. But Trudy, a prolific hacker, discovers a bit of computer code that, if initiated, would send the world hurtling deeper into space, killing all of what remains of humanity. Her attempts to alert the Station’s leadership put her and everyone around her in the sights of a religious cult intent on carrying out what they believe to be God’s decree—to wipe out the evil that is the human race.

Arrival is author Jay Allan Storey’s sequel to his amazing sci-fi novel, The Black Heart of the Station. Like its predecessor, Arrival is written as a young adult novel, but it is a book readers of all ages can enjoy. The writing is crisp, the plot intricate, the world-crafting detailed, and the tension heart pounding. It is a page turner that will keep you up at night just to see what happens next.

A dystopian novel that will have you on the edge of your seat.
Centuries ago Earth was blown off it's orbit. The population now live in a city deep below the surface. Now the planet is rushing through space to regain it's original position which will allow mankind to return to the surface. Trudy Barnard is a trainee working at mission control. She discovers software planted in the system that will cause the planet to crash into an steroid as they attempt re-entry. No one will believe her. Worse still, those in charge appear to be the very people planning for the world to be destroyed as a punishment by God for man's sinfulness.
Fast paced with many twists and turns, this is a truly satisfying read,

I have given this 4* same as book 1, but this is rounded up more! It was still a well written and pacy adventure with likeable new characters as well as a couple from book 1, though they don’t play much of a part. However, - and this is going to be a slight spoiler alert - it felt kind of like a rehash of the same plot as book 1. There were differences but the similarities were big. It was still very enjoyable but this is why I couldn’t really say it was as good as the first book - it wasn’t original. I will read book 3, which is actually a prequel, it takes place as Earth is spinning out into deep space and the Station is being built.

I was fortunate to get the first book in this trilogy for free! I loved it so much that as soon as I finished it I looked for this book to continue on but was unable to find it in ebook format. Then I did something new. I wrote Jay Allan, and he E-mailed me not only this book, but the last one as well! The few days it took to get them seemed to take forever!

WORTH THE WAIT!! I almost forgot to leave this review I started the last one so fast!

Great second book. It had been awhile since I read the first one but this book does an excellent job of slipping in bits and pieces from the previous book that both remind the reader and connect the two stories together.
I enjoyed the main character and her tenacity. The plot was exciting and kept me reading. I enjoyed how the author finished it.
Definitely recommend this series to anyone who likes science fiction with a bit of dystopian and adventure mixed in.

Satisfaction garanteed

Book 2 of the Black Heart Series is just as good as book one. Actually, maybe a bit more, because of the outcomes. I have to read Book 3 if the series now. I can't imagine where he might go with this but the first two kept me riveted so I'm sure to enjoy that one too. After that, I'm going to try "Arx"

Great Sequel to Book 1

A new main character but still contains some characters from the first book - so nice to see some old “friends” and find out what’s been going on in The Station.

Once more an exciting story about saving the human race. Such a satisfying ending. If you enjoyed the first book, you’ll love this second installment in the series.

Finished reading

I wasn't to sure about this book I'm more into space battles so this didn't really seem like something that I would read. And also read the second book in this series. I have to say that no books are very good with outstanding characters and A great story.

Exciting

I couldn't get through this story fast enough. The twists and excitement idiot me reading long after I should have turned out the light.

Good Ending

Very slow to start, but then I couldn’t put it down. I liked it. Give this a try after the first book.
