More stabbing, more blood, and more demons to cavort with ... what else could a girl ask for?
Korri Marchand killed the son of an important magus and her best friend Poppy was arrested in her place. Now Korri must find a way to save her friend and stop the impending attacks on the witches by the enraged magi. Only problem? The magi are powerful, they're ruthless, and they're still using demons to do their dirty work.
Luckily, Korri has her own demons and boy are they dirty indeed. With Lux, Malphas, Abaddon, and Baphomet at her side, she plots the downfall of the magi. And she's sure to succeed--unless the magi have their own tricks up their sleeves.
Caustic Charms is Book Two of the Curses, Charms, and Incantations trilogy. It's fast burn. Like Bugatti fast. Like race to the bathroom because you ate all those tacos fast. **More creative boning **Definitely stabbing **Not all the stabbing is bad? (Use your imagination) **Blood, swearing, and all things inappropriate for those who aren't stabby themselves Read at your own peril (or with a glass of wine handy. And your favorite battery operated boyfriend? No. I didn't say that.)
Hello! I'm a writer from Nebraska who enjoys fantasy of all kinds. Stories don't always seem quite as much fun without some element of magic.
I started out writing romances because that's what my best friend and I loved to read. (My other best friend and I wrote about our science teacher being an alien and hard boiled detectives.) I have a varied and exciting inner fantasy life, you might say.
My first full length novel was a fun private detective, contemporary, crazy love story. I'm working on rewrites so that I can get it out into the world. The first book I've published is an urban fantasy about a mother who doesn't know how to be a hero, but luckily she's a quick study.
I studied fiction writing at the University of Nebraska at Omaha but didn't truly appreciate the experience. Now that I've written millions of words, I think it might be fun to go back and take some more classes. (It might be fun...or it might be annoying, who knows?)
I love to read and I adore talking to people about writing and reading. And crochet!
Thank you for dropping by and thank you for reading my book. It honors me that you would spend some time in my imaginary world.
I had trouble with this book I’m not sure why but the attention was lacking until the back third of the book when things start to happen. In my reverse harems I prefer that the harem is all men and the men don’t have relations with each other, I also don’t typically like having a female in the harem. I know this was noted but I didn’t realize she’d be part of the harem, so that was a bit difficult for me to read through. I like Baph and I think she’s great supportive person I just didn’t like having to read about sex between them, as it isn’t my thing. But I do like Baph, she’s smart, she’s nice and a bit rough too but she’s good.
A lot of the book is spent killing Magi and bathing in their blood almost. There were several sex scenes occurring shortly after a massacre and other inopportune times. And blood play. I’m not sure if we are to believe they like this because they are demons, but that doesn’t explain Kori liking it either. But it made me feel uncomfortable.
The story though is getting good, but we do get a typical trope for Kori. A long lost sibling or something she doesn’t know anything about. Let’s bet that’s going to come around and bite her.
Overall I did like how the book ended, and where I thought I was going to stop here with the series I’m now intrigued enough to go on to the next one. Though I may struggle still it isn’t a bad book.
I loved this book in the series just as much as the first! Lots of hot kinky sex with a little bit of pain thrown in! I'm really liking the story and it doesn't feel like there's much extraneous stuff in there just for the sake of writing, it all works well together. Excited to move on to the next in the series..
I don’t think I enjoyed this book as much as book 1 but I think it’s just me being too picky and having my own personal preferences. I’m still loving all the characters, especially Korri. I think it’s great that the author has twisted the common narrative between mortals and demons making the mortals seem more evil than demons.
This book had plenty of twists in the plot but they were glaringly obvious at times, long before the twist was ever revealed. When it finally was revealed, it was more like a “yea, I figured as much” rather than a “holy crow 🤯” which kind of takes away the excitement for me as a reader. Some of the phrases and word choice seemed odd to me, almost as if words were jumbled within a sentence which made it hard to read sometimes. That may have been purposeful by the author to try to give the different demons some differentiation between mortals.
I still plan on continuing the series to see what happens with Korri and her cabal of demons.
I loved the first in this series, and this one just made me fall even further for these characters. Unique storyline, deliciously depraved characters with a affinity for shedding blood, and plenty of steam keep this series interesting and the reader fully engaged. Picking up pretty much where the previous book left off, this installment provides plenty of action as the characters continue in their attempts to liberate demons and take down the oppressive magi, making some surprising discoveries along the way. I highly recommend this series if you sometimes find yourself feeling a little stabby and don’t mind your heroes & love interests a little dark and twisty.
Just love this series! This book is even better than the 2nd. The character development and relationships between each one are great. I like that not all of them fall for each other straight away, some have trust issues etc and take time to warm up to each other. It makes it seem more real.
I really hope that Satan is on Korri's side going forward, his character could be the most intriguing yet, for obvious reasons!
I love everything about this series. Korri is a psycho and I totally adore her. The guys are great with their obsession with bloodshed. I'm not crazy about Baphomet though. I really don't care for FF so I wish the author had included a warning before I got hooked into the series. That said, if you're looking for an action packed RH with a crazy FMC then this is a great series so far.
I just finished book 2 of Curses, Charms, & Incantations, and I cannot wait to start the third book! I was hoping that the character that showed up at the end of book 2 would make an appearance; I’m interested to see how this new character will fit in to the cabal. I love the world building that the author has created for this series. The main character Korri, is such a great character, not perfect with just a little darkness.
Okay, so I’m officially in love with the FMC of this book. She’s crazy in the sexiest way, and I love her harem too. I can’t believe this book doesn’t have more reviews it is that good people, and I highly recommend this book to people who like RH and an amazing storyline.
I found myself wanting to speed read and skip about to figure out what was going to happen. The story continues to be exciting. The characters are great. And the ending was god and bad(bad as in cliff hanger not as in bad writing. I love a good cliffhanger) great series so far.
Korri has alot on her plate but it's good that her Demons have her back. Some secrets and turns are revealed. There other secrets that I know are going to come out of left field. Man does Korri have a kick to her thought.
Kicked off right after the end of the first book and we’re now into dealing with the fallout of just who Korri is. A lot of fun, betrayals and backstabbing. Plus there is a surprise appearance at the end that I think everyone will enjoy.
This book was amazing! It starts out right after the first one ended and the epic drama just doesn’t let you go. The world building in the series is amazing and the characters are so intense. I loved the relationship building that the characters go through and the lack of jealousy from anyone.
This series is amazing. Hot, full of action, mystery and surprises. I love the development of the relationships. A peek into the lives of the others, and I did not see that ending coming at all. Downloading book 3 now.
I'm writing this way after I DNF'd it, so it's a bit of a stretch to recall.... I think while I liked the premise, some of the background / worldbuilding / society just didn't ring true as believable to me. It just didn't compel me to finish.
DNF: 51% This book was so boring that I gave up. The way the friend just flipped and the sex was all the time but also limited to 2 paragraphs?? I really wanted to finish this book but I couldn’t force myself to keep going back.
This is the second book in this amazing trilogy! I love reading how Korri and her demons are working to free the enslaved demons. Can't wait to read what happens next.
