5 Words: What the hell was that?
It's true, if you're a fan of the TV show Nashville, you'll love this. Love it. And I'm a huge fan. From the first word, I loved it, I was convinced that I'd give it a solid five stars.
So why did this only get 4 stars?
The last 20%.
Everything is fine and dandy and passionate and drama filled and amazing until you hit exactly the 80% mark. Then I felt that things got a little OTT (as much as a story featuring such big, famous personalities can be OTT). Because you learn something about Jed. And Honor changes and becomes supremely superficial and a mega-bitch.
Jed was definitely my favourite character, followed by Mia. Then Honor.
Jed was this masculine, hunk of passion, who is perhaps the most respectable gentleman I'v read in contemporary romance. It was so refreshing. He was in turmoil with himself, always trying so hard.
Honor was at first this timid young woman, scarred both physically and mentally by her past. She's punishing herself because of what was done to her. And Jed comes along and stops this, makes her stronger, brings her back to herself.
And then Honor finds out about his big secret and judges him even though SHE asked not to know any more and SHE said she trusted him anyway and SHE doesn't even know the whole freaking story. This big change in her just ruined it for me.

3 Still Slightly Miffed Stars.
I have stepped away from this book, and taken a few days to calm myself down before writing the review for it, because if I am honest what started out as a potential 4 – 4.5 stars read, degenerated into the perfect way to ruin a book in the last 20%. I want to be clear that this review is only my opinion, and while I have absolutely no issues with the writing etc, I just really didn’t like how the author chose to wind up the book.
Honor Blackwood was a rising star on the country music scene, but after a horrific attack at the age of 18 left her scarred and emotionally battered, she retreated from the limelight. Now ten years later, she is happy to work part time in her friend Mia’s music store, and shop for unusual ornaments in her local Target. Still writing songs, she keeps them to herself, stored in a drawer at home away from prying eyes.
Jared ‘Jed’ Marshall is country music’s rising star. A bit of a rebel, with a penchant for baseball caps over Stetsons, a surefire hit with the ladies, and the man of Honor’s dreams. He is a perfect gentleman, and absolutely certain of one thing, he wants to make music with Honor, and include her in his next tour.
Honor isn’t sure that she wants to return to the public eye, what with her record label selling her out for her ex-boyfriend and her manager stabbing her in the back, but Jed makes it all seem insignificant, he encourages her, protects her, and treats her like she is the most precious thing in his life. I loved that this wasn’t a case of insta-love, the relationship developed steadily, they didn’t jump into bed straight away, but boy when it all came together Johnny Cash could be heard singing from his country cloud in the sky.
Jed – “I’ve not had…” He paused “someone like you in my life before.”…”I just… want to get things right. Do things right.”
This is where things got a little disappointing for me, after professing their love for each other, Jed tells Honor a little about a pretty big secret from his past. Honor doesn’t care, she doesn’t want to know the full story, she loves him and nothing he can say will change that……then BOOM, what feels like 2 pages later, she is approached by a reporter (because yes they always tell the truth) asking her for her thoughts on said “big secret”, and that’s it she’s off, no chance for Jed to explain, she refuses to see or speak to him. She also then if this wasn’t enough to make me dislike her, turns into an absolute cow. It’s all me, me, me and I almost DNF’d this book @ 92%
As I said this is just my opinion, and I am wholly sure that there will be legions of people out there that will love this book, but I just found Honor’s complete turnaround and personality transplant after so much had happened between her and Jed, a complete turn-off. There were other ways the story could have played out, and for me I think any one of them would have been better than the route Mandy took.
That being said, it is a well written, and up to about 80% really enjoyable story, and although I didn’t fully get on with Made In Nashville, it certainly wouldn’t stop me from reading future books from this author.

I seriously enjoyed One Summer In Nashville. New-to-me author Mandy Baggot really made this an interesting and enjoyable story.
Honor and Jared were a fascinating couple. He’s hard-core new Country. She sings like an angel. Opposites in every way but wonderful together. Jared can’t help but fall in love with the voice that he hears and will stop at nothing to get her on his tour. No is her answer. There is no way she is putting herself out there again. Not after the humiliation. And, who would want to look at her again? Jared will not take no for an answer and sets out to prove to her that there’s nothing to be afraid of and that she’s beautiful in every way.
A back-stabbing ex, a manager that was always there but is now looking out for himself, had Honor determined to try again. Jared shows up looking for the songbird that he heard and now she has a bigger reason to make a comeback. But, strange things have been happening and her fears are starting to make her doubt her decision. Unconditional love, understanding and the support of a man she’s falling in love with and her best friend, show Honor that she can do it and that it’s something she really does want.
Will her past keep Honor from going forward? Will Jared’s past keep him from the honors he deserves? Will Honor forgive him for not telling her the truth? Will the love they have for each other be enough to get them through the long road ahead?
I love how this story flowed, how Jared didn’t give up on Honor. It was hard watching Honor just throw in the towel and give up on everyone but then the smile came to my face when Jared broke through and she became determined to make things work despite the odds against her. Yes, this was a love story with a beautiful HEA but it was also a story about overcoming your fears and moving forward with your life. So, will I read Mandy Baggot again? Most definitely. She wrote an interesting story that thoroughly held my attention, showcased the country music world, and gave us a beautiful love story. BTW, Jared totally reminded me of an Eric Church or a Brantly Gilbert. If you’re a country music fan like I am, you’ll know who I am talking about.

I have always been a huge fan of country music, even though it isn't as big here in the U.K as it is in America, and recently, the TV series Nashville has been a firm favourite of mine! So when the lovely Mandy gave me an ARC copy of Made In Nashville, I was thrilled. It is the third of Mandy's books I have read, and one thing I have learnt, is that Mandy knows how to create a serious book hotty! And there is certainly no disappointing with Jared! He is hot, and sexy, and dark and brooding, and everything else that I imagined the perfect Nashville man to be!
But as well as creating yet another incredible male character, there is also Honor Blackwood, girl who years ago was one of the biggest female country singers, until she was attacked on stage and her confidence hit hard. I adored Honor's character, even though this woman was a big name, she was so easily relatable to the reader, and likable, with such a touching story of her own that you couldn't help but will her on, and reading the way the relationship between Honor and Jared developed was brilliant, and not just the hot and steamy stuff, but the way they helped to fix each other.
The twist at the ending was just perfect, it was a real tear jerker that made my heart ache for Jared and then led to an ending of happy tears. Made in Nashville is a beautifully romantic tale filled with gorgeous characters, amazing music and a whole heap of Stetsons!

I had very high hopes for this one -- I'm in a "Nashville" state of mind lately. But I felt disappointed from the slow get-go in this one. The price of $8.00 caused me pause in the beginning but seeing all the great reviews pushed me forward and I one-clicked. Of course, I wanted to love it but I didn't - and I can see I'm definitely in the minority. It was just a fair read and one that really didn't keep my attention either.
The characters weren't very well developed but worse yet was the development of the relationship between the two. It was insta-love and really juvenile in my opinion for the age of 28 years old. The dialogue was clumsy and strange. Both were country music super stars -- one currently and one ten years in the past. The romance was less than simmering and I just didn't really feel the chemistry between them. And finally, there were numerous typos and errors in word tenses, etc.
Not one I would recommend whole-heartedly.

Jared "Jed" Marshall needs to get an opening act for his latest tour and soon. He just happens to overhear Honor Blackwood singing and is entranced by her voice. Honor is no stranger to performing. Ten years ago she was the hottest star when an unprovoked attack left her scarred and afraid. Will Jed be able to convince Honor to join him on tour? Will Honor's past come back to haunt her again?
There wasn't much about this book that I didn't enjoy. Both Jed and Honor are perfect for each other. Jed is secure in who he is and he's not afraid to do what he feels is right. I loved that about him. Honor is sweet but so scared after what happened to her. Not only was she physically hurt, but the person she thought would be there to support her wasn't and now he's back once again now that she's thinking about singing again. I really did not like Dan Steele. I did like Honor though. She did go a little loopy on me towards the end of the book which threw me off a little because she had mentioned earlier about not wanting to know more.
There was one thing that bothered me a little bit. Mandy mentions and uses the Confederate flag numerous times. Now I'm a Southern girl through and through. It is an important part of our history and culture, but it's not really as prominent part of our daily lives anymore. Yes it can be seen on the occasional belt buckle and on many a truck, but the flag isn't flown very often. It's also no longer on graves. Now I know Mandy is from the UK, so that's okay. These days it raises more controversy than nostalgia when used.
Mandy Baggot is a phenomenal writer and she's done it once again with another great book. I love how the book is set in Nashville, the home of country music and many a rock star as well. Mandy writes characters that are real and easy to relate to. She always manages to write a book that's not only full of romance but also of issues that make and break us. Made In Nashville is a wonderful romance novel that transports the reader to Nashville, the heart and soul of country music. Written in the third person narrative, the author weaves a heartwarming tale of romance with drama and everything country music added in the mix. The story has a lot of depth and emotions as it realistically deals with painful pasts, fears, family and relationship issues, and the Nashville country music scene. As Honor and Jared's story unfolds, it will simply pull at your heartstrings.
The author does a wonderful job with the character development, there are a lot of intriguing layers to both Honor and Jared. As Honor and Jared's story unfolds, the heartwrenching drama and their budding romance is filled with enough suspense, unexpected twist and turns, and a deeply moving ending that will stir your soul.
I really enjoyed reading about Honor and Jared's troubled pasts, and how their romantic relationship progressed as the story unfolded. You can't help but love Jared's bad boy personality mixed with his sweet tenderness toward Honor, as he championed her way back into the Nashville music scene.The colorful supporting cast of characters (especially Mia, a music shop owner and Honor's BFF, is such a fun character with a crazy fun personality), smooth dialogues, and humorous interactions make this one heck of an entertaining read.
Finally, I would be remiss if I didn't express how much I loved that the author featured Nashville and the country music industry in the book. I am a huge country music fan who wants to visit Nashville so bad, and this book has made me determined to do just that! Oh and if that isn't enough, the author has a kickass country music playlist in the beginning of the book to put you in the mood as you read, how cool is that! So come along for the ride, and enjoy the world's best country music that can only be Made In Nashville!
Made In Nashville is a wonderful romantic story that will take you on an emotional roller coaster ride with its dramatic twists and turns, but ultimately it will leave you with a satisfied smile on your lips.

The author does a wonderful job with the character development, there are a lot of intriguing layers to both Honor and Jared. As Honor and Jared's story unfolds, the heartwrenching drama and their budding romance is filled with enough suspense, unexpected twist and turns, and a deeply moving ending that will stir your soul.
I really enjoyed reading about Honor and Jared's troubled pasts, and how their romantic relationship progressed as the story unfolded. You can't help but love Jared's bad boy personality mixed with his sweet tenderness toward Honor, as he championed her way back into the Nashville music scene.The colorful supporting cast of characters (especially Mia, a music shop owner and Honor's BFF, is such a fun character with a crazy fun personality), smooth dialogues, and humorous interactions make this one heck of an entertaining read.
Finally, I would be remiss if I didn't express how much I loved that the author featured Nashville and the country music industry in the book. I am a huge country music fan who wants to visit Nashville so bad, and this book has made me determined to do just that! Oh and if that isn't enough, the author has a kickass country music playlist in the beginning of the book to put you in the mood as you read, how cool is that! So come along for the ride, and enjoy the world's best country music that can only be Made In Nashville!
Made In Nashville is a wonderful romantic story that will take you on an emotional roller coaster ride with its dramatic twists and turns, but ultimately it will leave you with a satisfied smile on your lips.

Jared is hot, very hot. He’s a bit of a trouble maker but he has a good heart. In his world everything is black and white. He has morals and he doesn’t stand for a woman being disrespected and if he sees it he has to put it right but sometimes he’s a bit of a hot head.
Mia is a really good friend. She’s there for Honor whenever she needed her. I thought she was a really down to earth girl with a good heart.
I absolutely loved the ending of this book. I thought it was so sweet.

I really loved this heartfelt, sincere but, also in places, rather cheeky read from Mandy Baggot. It was a real sensory experience - I felt the southern heat, tasted the ribs and sauce, heard the guitars! Somehow country rock is rendered so much sexier than your more 'traditional' rock gods and I loved it.
The tragic Honor could so easily have become 2D, or annoying in her hesitancy to the impatient reader, but there's never even the threat of that happening. You really understand the psychological state that the attack left Honor in, which emphasises the respect you feel for her as she attempts to overcome it.
While on the surface a simple good girl/bad boy story, MADE IN NASHVILLE is so much more than that, and the subplots and plot-twists keep on racking up, even right at the end, keeping you gripped.
Get yourself a "beer and a bucket" and this great read - at the moment only 99p! - absolute bargain. I'm definitely going to read more from Mandy in the future.

This is the first book that I have read of Mandy's, and I wasn't disappointed. I loved the country music feel, and her main characters Honor and Jed.
Honor was left scarred while playing one night, and couldn't face carrying on, that was until Jed appeared on the scene. Can she face her demons to perform with the sexy Jed again?
There is a secret that could destroy everything. I loved it! 5 stars from me Mandy.

As a massive fan of Mandy Baggot books I literally couldn't wait to read this one, One Summer in Nashville.
The story was highly enjoyable, loved the characters and the interaction between Jared and Honour, you could tell straightaway that they had a connection. I thought the setting of the story was brilliant, country music, concerts, romance, secret past, perfect combination for sure.
My only real cristism about the story relates to the character of Honour, I didn't agree with her actions towards Jared at all. She was so quick to drop him when she heard the story from the reporters/news etc, she didn't even consider hearing Jared side of the story. She professes to love Jared pretty quickly in the beginning but doesn't even contemplate that the news story is lies and not the true version of events and instead runs in the opposite direction. All I can say is thank gods her friend Mia and the guy Corbin talked some sense into her and made her see the light.
But regardless of the above, the story was wonderfully written, and highly enjoyable. Author Mandy really does know how to write a great story.

Honor story is pretty sad, she was in her best moment, enjoying her successful, doing what she loves, and one fine day in the middle of a concert, a crappy crazy guy attacked her and left a scar in her face. She changes completely and of course she does. A thing like that it isn’t easy. She doesn’t a family or friends who support and comfort her, only her manager, because her boyfriend, a singer wannabe abandoned her days after the attack.
What is wrong with this guy?
She gave up on her singer career but no with her life. I really like that about her. She changes a lot, doesn’t go out on dates, or with friends anymore, but I am not sure if it’s only for her scar. By the last ten year she has been away of the spotlight but always writing songs and singing for herself. When she meets Jared and he starts to convince her get back to the scenarios, Honor found what she needed, confidence, somebody who trust in her not because he’s getting money or a profit.
Jared, oh my sweet lord, the guy is hot. He’s a bad boy, inked hottie, sincere, he doesn’t take shit from anybody, almost dangerous, but with a heart of Nashville’s size. I adore the way he fights for her, trust in her talent, and would take a bullet for her if she needs. A knight in a leather armor!
But not everything is music and love. Along with the sensual tension between Honor and Jared, mysteries, threads, former lovers, and more will keep you attached to your e-reader until the end.
When I was at the 20% mark I couldn’t resist and looked for the book on Amazon, and guess what? It’s on sale so you should grab your copy as soon as possible. You won’t regret it. As a matter of fact, for me Made in Nashville is the beginning of a great friendship between Harper Impulse and myself.

Made In Nashville is Mandy Baggot’s second Harper Impulse title and it’s set in the home of country music – Nashville! It’s the story of Honor Blackwod and Jared Marshall. Honor, at 18 was about to take the country music scene by storm. She was beautiful with the voice of an Angel but when a crazed fan manages to make his way on stage and attacks her she is left scarred for life on the inside and out.
10 years later, Jed Marshall is the bad boy of country. He’s known for rocking it out with thousands of fans, fighting for what he believes in and being an all-round hottie. He’s struggling to find the right support act for his impending tour but when he hears an angelic voice coming from the sound system in a bar, a voice that he’s never heard before. He is desperate to get to know the girl, who of course just happens to be Honor, behind the voice and to try and convince her to go on tour with him.
Let me just say now that this story didn’t disappoint. At first I felt a real sense of pity for Honor, although I get the impression that she wouldn’t like that. She’s quite a complex character who’s gone through quite a lot at a young age which has moulded her into the person she is. A person who finds it hard to trust anyone, and let anyone in and it has made her journey back to a normal life, a normal life facing the music, virtually impossible.
Jed is like the catalyst for Honor to turn over a new leaf. His insistent pursuit of her voice unlocks something inside her that is like the missing piece in her recovery.
The story may seem like it’s predictable, but actually, both characters have a deeper history. Honor’s whole story is focused on her attack, whereas Jed is more secretive, trying to protect his family from his past. There is also another twist in the story which came from so far left field I didn’t see it coming!
I love country music, so the fact that this story was about that made it all the better to me. One of my favourite quotes from the book is actually from one of the songs.
“A lonely star who finally found the Milky Way”
I think one of the reasons I like this type of music so much is that the lyrics all seem to mean something, often important things to the artist, and to whoever they wrote the song for. I think it added a whole other side to the characters that they were able to express their feelings in that way.
I also absolutely loved that I felt like I’d stepped into a musical version of Dallas. I definitely need to watch Nashville now!
I have to give this read a great 4 stars. Definitely one to keep to read again!

Being a country music fan living abroad, I was positively tickled that a British writer would pen down a story set in Nashville. It’s my 2nd book by Mandy Baggot and I remain a fan, although I thought that in her most recent book “One Wish in Manhattan” her characters had more gravitas and the story was better developed.
Made in Nashville is a light read and tells us the story of two young country singers – Honor Blackwood and Jared Marshall - who may seem, at first glance, very different but who find each other and fall in love. Initially I enjoyed their romantic connection, but when an event from Jared’s past life rears its ugly head, I thought that Honor reacted as an immature child and I was a bit disappointed by this. It was totally out of sync with her character. In all honesty, she was a bit of whiner too.
So yes, the character development left a bit to be desired, and is not deserving of high marks, but for the country music references, the Nashville atmosphere and the feel-good ending, I give it a 3.
It should also be mentioned that the Kindle edition should have left spaces between paragraphs. It was confusing that from one line to the next we were in another scene without a space between lines!

Jared is incredibly protective of Honor, loves his family, he’s upfront and a straight shooter but has that all-important bad boy edge. Honor is damaged herself but they understand each other on a level no one else does, and with the pair connecting almost instantly, the sparks fly off the pages.
Having both suffered in the past, it’s was great to read on as Jared and Honor begin to repair each other, even if they do try holding back. The result is an intense and interesting story that leads to a few twists I honestly did not see coming.

When I requested this book from Netgalley I had no idea what I was getting myself into! It was purely based on the cover and that it was set in Nashville, which holds a special place in my heart. I quickly found out that Mandy Baggot is magnificent at pulling you in, making you adore her characters, and giving you a story with all the feelings attached. I found myself laughing, tearing up, and gasping right along with the story as I devoured it.

I’ll be honest and say I had no idea what to expect from Made in Nashville other than I’ve heard great things about the author and if Harper Impulse published it, I’m probably going to love it. It took me until around halfway through chapter one when I realised that I was going to love this book. I reached 44% of the way through (I checked) and came to the conclusion that I’d taken this book boyfriend thing way too far. I was slightly unhealthily attached to Jared but seriously, I want my own Jared. He was perfect. I think I had to remind myself that he was fictional on more than one occasion. Once I got about two thirds of the way through, I realised that I was going to be at a bit of a loss once the book finished and it’s taken me much longer than it took me to read this book to actually come up with a coherent review, because all I really want to say and shout is how much I LOVED Made in Nashville.
It was such a brilliant read, full of drama and yet some of the most touching scenes and a beautiful, seriously stunning romance that had me marvelling at Mandy Baggot’s fabulous writing and how she built this story to the level that I was so invested in these characters and concerned with how things would work out, I felt like I was reading a book about the two most important people in my life or something. I wasn’t surprised that I liked this book but I wasn’t expecting to be genuinely gutted that it came to an end. But I really was.
Honor Blackwood was a top country music singer until an attack on stage left her frightened and forced her to give it up. Ten years later, top country star Jared Marshall is searching for an artist to support him on his upcoming tour, and Honor’s voice is exactly what he’s searching for – at least he tries to convince himself it’s just her voice he’s interested in. Honor’s story was so moving it was easy for me to connect with her straight away. She was obviously talented and I wanted nothing more than for her to embrace her talent and lose the fear so she could come back and do something she loved. Her doubts and fears were more endearing than off-putting because you could see the psychological trauma she was going through but when Jed was on the scene, there was hope that things might get a little better for her.
I fear I could talk about Jared for a long time but simply, he’s probably my favourite leading male character in any book. He was billed as a rebel but I loved how his character wasn’t overdone – normally in romance books surrounding the music scene, the love interest is completely chaotic and out of control but Mandy portrayed his character in a much stronger way than that. Honor and Jed’s stories were backed up by several supporting characters who were also developed so well – there were no flat characters and everyone we meet is a little interesting or fun or there’s some intrigue behind them that may lead up to one or two of the great twists deployed in the novel. It was refreshing to read.
Another thing I loved about Made in Nashville was the focus on country music. I’ve actually recently started to listen to more country music and so it was more relevant to my interests than it might have been had I read Made in Nashville as soon as it was released. I liked the name-checking of real-life country stars because it made Honor and Jed feel relevant and as if they were an actual part of the country music scene now. I’ve read a lot of books featuring characters surrounding rock music which therefore makes most of the book about drugs and sex but country music to me is more heart and soul and this is the impression I had throughout most of the novel. There was always the hope that things may come good and I loved how it played out. I also thought the look into the backstage side of the country music scene, all the politics between labels and advisors was a fascinating part of the novel too.
As for the ending, I’m guessing it will divide people but I pretty much thought it was perfect. Actually, I thought the entire book was pretty much perfect and this review really could go on forever because I have about a million more reasons why everybody should read and love Made in Nashville. Instead, I will be recommending this book for a long time to come and if anybody can enjoy it even half as much as I did, they’re in for a great read. Made in Nashville had possibly the most captivating romance story I’ve ever read and mixed in across some drama-filled pages were some extremely heartfelt, uplifting messages which made this book an all-round pleasure to read, and rated a very easy five stars.

Cheesy as hell but I blooming loved it!!
The first few chapters I was laughing at the cheesiness and thinking I was too good for this book....
..... chapter 8 and I’m all in and devouring the whole book.
The characters are adorable, I’m in love with Jared Marshall and it’s all Mandy Baggot’s fault!!

I'm still in disbelief that a little over a year ago, I had never read a Mandy Baggot book, and now I am slowly working my way through her back catalogue as well as being keen to read her newest releases and every single time, I am astounded at the quality of the writing, the way she writes her leading characters, and in some cases the picture of the location that is built up.
I am delighted to say that Made in Nashville is no exception to this. This is a fast paced roller coaster ride of a book, taking in the country music scene in Nashville, Tennessee. Now I don't know a lot about country music, but I would suggest that if you can read and listen to music simultaneously then to set up the suggested play list at the start of the book to really enhance your enjoyment of the book. Unfortunately I didn't and thats only because I knew if I started listening to music, I may have lost track of what I was reading, and I didn't want that!
Honor Blackwood is a country singer who hasn't recorded or performed for 10 years, after she was attacked on stage at one of her concerts. Understandably it takes some getting over that, and now she has settled down to an ordinary life, and tries to ignore country music, despite it being part of her. However in a series of coincidences her manager tries to persuade her to return to produce new music for a Greatest Hits album, and current star Jed Marshall happens to hear her singing to herself and wants her to be the support act on his latest tour.
All of this leaves Honor needing to make some very brave decisions, and I loved seeing her thought processes. I also loved how the view point alternated regularly even within chapters, between Jared (Jed) and Honor, allowing the reader to have a well rounded view of what is going on.
There is a clear chemistry between Honor and Jed, and its wonderfully charming to see that Jed has been brought up with a respectful attitude toward women and with strong personal justice values that lead him into some sticky situations.
Made in Nashville has a lovely story, which shows that true love doesn't run smoothly, and as we learn more about the main characters, some more in depth storylines are dealt with, within their back stories, which justs to my respect and love for both Honor and Jed.

I'm not a really big fan of country music, but I am a fan of a good old romantic story. So when Ms. Baggot sent me her new book, I did my happy dance :). After reading Security, I couldn't wait to read her next novel.

Honor was a great teenage singer ten years ago. She had a career, a boyfriend, she had everything. Until one day, a stalker fan attacked her and slashed her face. She lost her boyfriend and gave up her singing career. Now, she works in a music store hiding herself from the rest of the world. Until, one day, good looking cowboy enters the front door of the store and asks her to sing on a tour with him.
Honor and Jared are great couple. Both with the scars from the past, they are emotionally well built characters. Everyone has skeletons in the closet and everyone carries the luggage from the past. Honor never had a family, her fans were her family. Surviving the attack, she doesn't realize how lucky she is, being alive. A scar on the face is a big deal in the world on a stage, so she decides to back off and let the attacker to win. She doesn't realize that if you don't have the talent and hard working habit, good looking means nothing at all. So, when Jared steps into her world, it's a time for change. Time to grow up, to love and be loved. In the very same time, Jared is the brand new star in the world of country music. After spending years in juvenile prison, he decides to grab his chance for making his dreams come true. He knows that he deserves that second chance. Meeting Honor, he sees his chance to share his dreams with her, he needs someone to trust him, to love and be loved.
So, if you are a fan of country music, go for it and read this lovely romantic story fullfilled with hot cowboys. I am no big fan of country music, but I really loved this romance set up on the stage in Nashville.

By now Mandy has become one of my auto read authors, I just know I’ll get a romance that's well written and plotted, and has lots of emotion and drama and that's what I need to enjoy contemporary romance. Not just a sweet boy meets girl HEA, but a story with highs and lows, full of emotion and angst.
So Honor, what an awful thing to happen when she was so young, and just having tasted success. Not only was the attack horrific but her then boyfriend dumped her, and her confidence plummeted. Its now ten years later, and her agent and record label want to release a greatest hits album. She's not sure she's ready for the publicity, and then...Country star Jared hears her singing to herself in the store, when she thinks she's alone. He wants her on his tour, he thinks she's got the voice of an angel and also...there's a strange attraction he didn't expect, doesn't need at this point and yet can't seem to let go of. Honor becomes more and more important to him, and along the way they meets her ex, who's just been signed by her label and her agent, and seems to be manipulating things his way, she gets a stalker that erodes her confidence even more, secrets from her past come out and … there's a huge mystery that breaks in the press that Jared can't or won't explain and takes their fledgling but intensely hot and steamy romance to the very brink. She's left again not knowing who she can trust and her self confidence is tested once again.
Once more Mandy delivers an excellent story, with just the right amount of danger and angst to balance the wonderful love story that's growing. I can't do sweet, sweet, sweet, I need some grit – a bit the way the oyster does to make the pearl. Another book I really enjoyed reading, and would be happy to re read. Great characters, intense drama and action and incredible hot erotic but well written sex scenes. Whats not to love? Great price at £1.99 for 306 pages.

Mandy Baggot has always very romantic and fun books for you and this time is no different! If you love romance, this book is for you! "One Summer in Nashville" is all about love! It has been a long time since I haven't read such a lovely romance like this one! I felt good the whole time I was reading this book! And on top of this lovely romance going on, it's a book full of events, full of suspense, you never get bored! I totally recommend this book for any romance lover out there! You won't regret reading it!

I got this book Made in Nashville as an ARC for an honest review. I totally loved it. Mandy does it again seems like she can write anything to any kind of story. The main characters are Honor Blackwood former country music star because of something that happened in the past but then she meets the other main character whom is a country rock'in music star, rough around the edges, tough, sexy and admired by many, also top on the record charts. When they meet Jared or Jed is instantly taken by Honor he see's something in her that nobody see's anymore although she is not fond of his ways so it takes time for him to get into her life and find out how to help her get past her past and begin to live her dream again. Of course there are ups and downs and some rough patches along the way but can Jared sweeten up some to get into Honor's life and will both their lives change around especially when the past creeps up again with gifts coming from some anonymous person to Honor and Jed's major secret comes out from the past. Loved all the country music mentions throughout the story also loved how Mandy keeps the reader in suspense throughout. Was very hard to put this book down like all Mandy's books. If I could give it more then a five star well then I would. So pick up the book and find out what Made in Nashville is all about and how it all turns out. Thanks Mandy for the book for an honest review. Also, there is a complete list of Country music songs & artists mentioned in the book:) Also, just want to add that you don't have to be a country music lover to love this book Mandy always does amazing work with her books. You will fall in love with this book & the characters. Although I got it as an ARC for an honest review I still would have bought it cause love Mandy's amazing writing.

Lately I have been struggling to read, every book I pick up feels heavy (literally and figuratively). Two friends had already read Made in Nashville and has assured me it was well worth a read so I decided to jump in with both feet. Before i knew it i was on chapter 5 and really intrigued as to where this was going. By Chapter 10 I couldn't put the book down. And I have to admit that by the time I hit 50% of the kids were left to fend for themselves and i was pulling an all-nighter just to see what happened.
I know there are a lot of people out there who will turn their noses up at 'yet another romance' or deem it to be 'an insta-love' book without actually looking at a page. But this book is a refreshing change from boy meets girl, boy beds girl. Oh there is attraction, from both sides and yes the attraction begins fairly quick in the story, but its something that both characters try to deny for a while. And even after they both admit to being attracted it's still a while before they actually come together for those steamy sex scenes that we all know you want to be reading.
Baggot has done an amazing job at giving her characters depth. Both Jared and Honor have had awful things happen to them in the past, but it's the kind of hurt you can almost feel, this is something that is woven into the character from the very beginning and it makes all the difference when trying to connect with the characters.

Baggot’s novel has the feeling of an episode of Nashville blended together with a classic Hallmark film which is not a bad thing. Characters that are at odds end up happily ever after with some suspense and will they, won’t they matter is the tone of the day. This is not a bad thing and although this has a comfortable plot, there is enough to satisfy and tantalise your way until the satisfying conclusion.
The characters are well developed and you have a real sense of the two main characters and the reasoning on how they are. The supporting characters are well developed and provide an excellent support to Honor and Jared.
The plot though at first is a bit confusing for the first ten pages but soon settles down to a plot that captivates the audience. There are a few surprises in store to keep the reader totally invested and moves at a good pace. I thoroughly enjoyed the plot structure where we switch between Honor and Jared perspectives which works well.
There are times that some of the twists seem somewhat implausible in a real world setting but as this is set in a country and western fantasy world, it makes more sense. I truly loved all the characters and thorough enjoyed every nuiance brought to the page.
Overall, this is a lovely romantic read that gives the reader some escapism and characters to root for and totally engage with. It is a country and western romance that hee-haws it way to the conclusion and guaranteed to make you feel all the emotions one can in a classically set out love story. Highly recommended.

I enjoyed reading Made in Nashville. I have to say I after reading some of the reviews I was a little worried I wouldn't like it. I thought that the story was going to be a little bit to much country for me to enjoy but that was not the case.
Honor grew up in foster care but she survived and made something out of herself. She was one of Nashville's country music stars when she was attacked on stage. She has a scar on her face from the incident and has shied away from the music industry. She sweet with a little bit of spunk.
Jared "Jed" is a bad boy country musician who adds a rock to his music. He wants Honor to tour with him. Honor isn't interested but her and Jed form a friendship. Their friendship quickly moves into more.
Jed has a past that he shares a little with Honor. Honor doesn't really care about the past. Jed's past is shocking, I was definitely surprised by what he had done in the past. When his past comes out it causes problems. There are also some odd family revelations from both Jed and Honor. The story took some turns that I never expected. Some things felt a little weird when they came out but as a whole they fit into the storyline.

It's an interesting plot ___a good love story, music as a background; a talented singer, unable to forget a horrible incident that made her stop singing. Another talented young angry {but compassionate} singer who cannot believe he's in love with the girl.
I liked their sizzling yet soothing, mushy at times, chemistry
'She smelt like summer air after a fresh rainfall, tasted like the purest water with a dash of a sweet something he couldn’t even begin to describe.'
Or ‘She was like a whisper in the wind. A breeze that came into the room and affected everybody. Like a sweet change to the temperature…'
I like this kind of writing.
The author builds suspense in the second half, even unreliable narrative for some time, which keeps you curious. But the thing is, the story meanders at times and your thrill wavers.
The story has been told from both male and female protagonists, which is good but the point of view shifts too quickly. It doesn't give you time to settle on any pov.
Overall an interesting and engaging read. But I feel it could have been better and crisper, as the plot had potential.
