In a world where it’s every man for himself, all they can do is hold on to each other…

An MMM survival romance. The last book in an exciting trilogy!

With soldiers next door, the situation has become dire for Austin, Mack, and Tan. Every time they find a solution for one challenge, another arises, ranging from family members who show up unexpectedly to reunions with people they’d never hoped to see again.

But they may have bigger problems when the earthquakes continue and concern increases about the earth crust’s stability. The only way to prevent an even worse disaster is to stop the aliens from drilling for more oil, but how?

They cling to each other as the future looks more and more bleak. Is there any hope left for a happy ever after for them?

Burn is the last book in the suspenseful Ignite trilogy, a slow burn MMM romance set in an alternative world. This series will end with a deeply satisfying HEA.

Would you like the long or the short version of my bio?

The short? You got it.

I write steamy gay romance books and I love it. I also love reading books. Books are everything.

How was that?

A little more detail? Gotcha.

I started writing my first stories when I was a teen…on a freaking typewriter. I still have these, and they’re adorably romantic. And bad, haha. Fear of failing kept me from following my dream to become a romance author, so you can imagine how proud and ecstatic I am that I finally overcame my fears and self doubt and did it. I adore my genre because I love writing and reading about flawed, strong men who are just a tad broken..but find their happy ever after anyway.

My favorite books to read are pretty much all MM/gay romances as long as it has a happy end. Kink is a plus… Aside from that, I also read a lot of nonfiction and not just books on writing. Popular psychology is a favorite topic of mine and so are self help and sociology.

Hobbies? Ain’t nobody got time for that. Just kidding. I love traveling, spending time near the ocean, and hiking. But I love books more.

⋰⋱⋰⋱⋰⋱*Feel Let Down TBH*⋰⋱⋰⋱⋰⋱

**CAN CONTAIN SPOILERS** Am I the only one who felt like Tan and Mack were in a relationship, while Austin was on the outside? I feel like Tan is always... mad (?) at Austin for caring? There is no chemistry between the two of them... Tan doesn't seem to appreciate Austin at all - almost like he resents him -, and seems to prefer Mack to him. Maybe I'm just feeling this way because I'm not all that much a fan of Tan. He's annoying.

Mack seems to be able to understand and read Tan way better in the short time he's known Than compare to Austin who's known him longer.... It's like Austin is just there now, a fill-in or something. Always in the background or like a second thought - it's always like: (made up) Mack pulled Tan into his lap, bla bla bla. Austin inched closer and put his hand on Tan's shoulder, something something. And then there was waaaayyy too much use of endearments. Like, waaaay.

Overall, it shouldn't come as a shock that this book was actually quite a bust for me. I couldn't connect with any of the characters, I felt like nothing truly happened, it lacked depth (I know: shocking considering how cheesy and cliche the boys were), and I just didn't care for the story nor the characters.... The book simply didn't work for me. Perhaps I have now moved into a slump instead of just struggling with focusing... who knows. I'm glad I'm done with the series, but I'm sad it feels almost like a waste of time :( I have to be honest and say I skimmed quite a bit.

The Characters:
Austin Regan, (bi) the leader (at least in book one). He's the jock; played football for many years. He was at the reintegration camp for gay for six months, where he protected his best friend Tan.
Nathan ‘Nate’ ‘Tan’ (21?), had been in the camp for three years. His expertise is in history and well, sex. He's been through a lot.
Cormack ‘Mack’ (22), who had been new (a week) to the camp before he, Austin and Tan escaped together. The nerd - who really knows how to survive an apocalypse because he's trained for it his whole life. He was also quite innocent as he'd been sheltered his whole life.
David Brody Regan, Austin father. He was the Deputy Chief of Staff to the President of the CUS and got fired from his job and jailed when Austin was arrested for being gay. The government had proof he knew about Austin’s sexual orientation and didn’t report him. He was sentenced to two years in prison.
Pax, an Zagorian alien who wants peace. Pax is his human name as humans can't pronounce his alien name. Mack met him in book one.
Calvin Moss, Tan's older brother by four years who he hasn't seen in five years. A corporal in the military. The president has ordered general conscription for all able-bodied men between the ages of eighteen and forty-five. Calvin was traveling to get intel on the enemy’s strength, collect and tell men to enlist.
Newt, the dog that was left in Doug and Ruthie's farm house that the boys live in.
Flanagan, Zanini, Noel Yancey, Derek Waterbrook, Decker, former human soldiers. Their unit have been charged with the task of taking out the alien force beside the farm house. Calvin the highest-ranking soldier/officer in the group. They deserted, and is hiding from CUS soldiers. Yancey and Waterbrook are an item.
Lehane, Calvin's unit's former CO.
Sun (he's deadly as Sun, hench the name) and Story (storyteller: tells story, you must listen), Freedom (chose a name because it's what he/all wants: freedom), Snow (he loves snow) aliens and friends of Pax.

Quick basic facts:
Genre: - (New Adult?) Science Fiction - Dystopia (M/M/M).
Series: - Series, Book Three.
Love triangle? -
Cheating? -
HEA? -
Favorite character? - Austin Regan.
Would I read more by this author/or of series? - Unsure.
Would I recommend this book/series? - Not really.
Will I read this again in the future? - Most likely not.

I literally just finished reading this one. I am quite speechless. All the words in my head sound trite in reference to this spectacular story. A perfect blend of romance and science fiction. These are few and far between. I'm sitting on cloud 9 right now.

Burn is book 3 in the Ignite trilogy. You have to meet the boys in book 1 to follow them through their amazing story of love, healing and survival to one of the best HEAs I've read felt in a long time.

Thanks to this book I had the most wonderful Sunday afternoon. The entire series is five star!

Damn, what a ride!

Once again we have that fade out scene from the previous book opening this one, and it was HOT! And yet...also very romantic. I love how these 3 guys love each other. So much acceptance, so much love and dedication. ADORE that there was even more communication and discussions of consent.

Didn't anticipate who they'd end up teaming up with, and Tan's brother deserved that verbal bitch-slap/rude awakening. Thankfully he learned his lesson.

I almost wish that the precis didn't mention the HEA because that took away some of the suspense. I think I would have rather not known...it's a freaking alien invasion of a dystopian earth. The fear of loss was less urgent.

That said, I am definitely going to listen to the whole series when I need a re-read and these fit the challenges.

I think this was my least favorite book of all three.

In this the guys realize they cannot stay at the farm any longer. The earthquakes are getting worse and the farm is ready to collapse. Luckily they found Tan’s brother and have a meeting point set up with Austin’s father, so they now have a plan. Except the aliens are still there and now there’s volcanoes erupting everywhere….

While I liked this, there were two things that brought down my enjoyment.

1. This book had too much sex. And especially sex at inappropriate times. Losing your butt virginity while you’re in a room with only a blanket as a divider that separates you from other people and especially Austin’s father, is not sexy. Soooo not sexy.
2. The ending. I know that this was dystopian and things on earth were already bad, but I guess I was still hoping for everything to be okay again. Don’t worry, there is a solid HEA and no one dies, but I still expected something different I guess.

But this was still a very nice MMM series and I did love these guys.

Well...it was a pretty good series but the latter half of the series lost its momentum, my interest, and I was getting bored waiting for this book to finish.

I like all of the MCs but honestly, Tan annoyed me and I think their relationship mainly revolved around Tan and his issues. It didn't feel balanced or fully equal. Of course, we got to know Austin and Mack and saw their struggles but they did not nearly get the same amount of focus that Tan did. I also got really tired of the formulaic sex scenes and it would've been better with less of them.

As for the plot itself, I don't know that I buy all of it but I rolled with it. Since they for the majority of the second and third books, it did feel repetitive and like not much was driving the plot at times.

Overall, a good read but I'm not going to remember it.

Book 2: Smolder → 3.75 Stars

4 stars for the series

I would call this a dystopian, light sci-fi, m/m/m romance that oftentimes felt like a contemporary, close proximity, slow-burn romance, if that makes any sense. Some installments were heavier on action, while others were more character driven. There is a dystopian feel, and there are definitely aliens, but if that's what is holding you back from reading, I would tell you to give it a try.

All three men have had different background experiences and have to work through their own issues all the while trying to survive, but it turns out that as the earth is literally crumbling beneath them, they are finally finding the freedom and family they have long been denied.

While the pacing occasionally felt off, I read the entire trilogy back to back and it definitely kept me entertained and wondering what would happen next.

What a ride! This is an extremely exciting series and I truly enjoyed the first two books in audio. Sadly the narrator, Kenneth Obi, passed away before this one was released and I've had to get up the gumption to listen to this one. He does an absolutely perfect job, and nobody can fill his shoes.

A fantastic end to a series I was sad to see end. Nora Phoenix outdoes herself with this one, and not to undervalue her talents, but I'm pleased by the depth she goes to, both with the characters as well as the story. Really something special.

A Joyfully Jay review.

Burn is the third and final book in Nora Phoenix’s Ignite trilogy and the author brings the story to an exciting and satisfying end. While the men had a brief respite in Wyoming in Smolder, things really heat back up here. The situation has become increasingly unstable and the guys have to race across the country, desperate to survive. The story is thrilling and intense and Phoenix really lets the reader feel the excitement. There is a breathless quality to a lot of the book as the men are hit with one crisis after another. The ending is particularly tense and there is a nice sense of energy to the story. I had wondered how Phoenix was possibly going to pull a happy ending together for the men after the devastating affects of the alien attack and the basic destruction of the world as they know it. So I was really pleased to see how the story all comes together. There is a bit of a suspension of disbelief required at times, but overall, I think Phoenix really pulls it all together well.

Oh dear, disappointing 😒. Perhaps I was expecting too much, and really hoped that there would be more nail-biting WTF moments but it honestly fell a little flat for me. Yet again, there were weird grammatical phrases but it was supposedly edited, and the usual NP typos. All in all, an unsatisfactory end to the series as far as I'm concerned. 3.25 stars.

Stunning Conclusion....

Wow! This book was action packed.
This is the 3rd and final book in the series. Even though, I wouldn’t mind a spin-off or 2... hint..hint..

Tan, Austin and Mack are the main focus but the side characters really enriched the story.

We learn everyone’s fate. It really was a perfect ending.

Overall series rating is a 3. Survival-of-the-fittest is a trope I didn’t know I really liked.

It got boring though? The big “plan” at the end was just an escape plan and didn’t have much bang.

Also the novella was just another Austin and Mac 😂 LIKE LITERAL CARBON COPY

Absolutely amazing. This was a fantastic conclusion to a fantastic series. Once I started it, I couldn't bear to put it down. This is definitely Nora's most underrated series, and both Nora Phoenix fans, sci fi fans, and mm romance readers who usually don't read sci fi should give it a shot. All three books are amazing!

I just did not like where the story went and the choices the MC's made to get there. They were justifying a lot of shitty choices by saying 'they will all die anyway'.
In the romance department it also got all mushy and sweet and boring.
I was definitely hoping for more.

NOTE: This book was provided by the author for the purpose of a review on Rainbow Book Reviews.

This last book of Nora Phoenix’s dystopian trilogy closes the cycle with the promise of bringing all the loose threads to a satisfying end. At the beginning, the three main characters Austin, Mack, and Tan still hide in the abandoned farmhouse in the Wyoming countryside, somewhere between nowhere and long-forgotten. Winter has set in with heavy snowfall, but the three men just snuggle under a blanket and get to know each other better in the best of ways—affectionate sex. They don’t forget their predicament, however; they know that they are surrounded by enemies (the alien soldiers, their own gay-hating countrymen) and have to be careful as supplies threaten to run low. Worse, the aliens are emptying the Earth’s oil ressources regardless of the distastrous consequences to the environment, and first earthquakes are shaking Wyoming, almost shattering the men’s shelter in the process. Moreover, Tan struggles more and more with the PTSD triggered by the cruel treatment he suffered in the reeducation camp they have fled.

One day, the three venture out to reconnoiter the area. They stumble upon an onshore oil platform the aliens have constructed in the middle of the plains and find a camp with alien soldiers fast asleep right next to it, together with a structure that houses and commands the deathly spider robots. When they retreat, they run into a bunch of CUS-army deserters, amongst them Tan’s brother. To their surprise, these six men have nothing against gays, defending a gay soldier having led to them leaving the army in the first place, and even take them in. Together they plan an attack on the alien camp, and in the middle of it, the three main characters are reunited with Pax, their alien friend, who helps them overcome the other aliens of the camp. But he has bad news for them: the volcano beneath Yellowstone threatens to erupt, and the ensuing blast and toxic clouds will kill them all. The question is, will they be able to find a means to survive all together?

This last installment is packed with action and progress where the three main characters and their MMM lovestory are concerned. Oh, and let’s not forget, it is also packed with steamy scenes. Mack is a complete virgin insofar as not only has he never had sex before, but doesn’t even know what two (or three) men can do together in order to satisfy each other. Austin and Tan patiently teach him, and the reader is allowed to have more than furtive glances. I admit the three are really cute, their story is heartwarming and satisfying indeed. The author leaves out anything that might disturb the idyllic relationship the three share and enjoy? Yes, of course, but the beautiful thing is, I felt their love and care all through the three books, cautious at first, then slowly rising, and blooming beautifully in this book. The family reunion with Tan’s brother allows the author to explore Tan’s past in greater depths, in a subtle, unobtrusive manner. She also manages to tone Austin’s and Mack’s reactions with Tan’s needs. To say it succinctly, Nora Phoenix’s greatest asset is her emphatic psychological insight into her main characters and her uncanny ability to weave it all together without being showy or pushy about it. Her technique of alternating the points of view from chapter to chapter is surely to be thanked for, but only partly, as her solid writing style contributes to it, too—no unnecessary embellishments, no longish accounts, just a nice, steady flow where internal musings and exterior events balance out one another.

A last word about the series as a whole. Some readers would probably prefer to read a dystopian trilogy with more bleakness, more oomph and suspenseful action. There are (non-gay) examples aplenty, Margaret Atwood’s famous ‘Handmaid’s Tale’ or her ‘Onyx and Crake’ series, the novels of Octavia E. Butler, or the ‘John Matherson’ series, to name but a few. True enough, this series centers more around the love trio and their individual developments, be it emotional, psychological, or simply their progresses as men and human beings. Large parts of the three books don’t see any geographical movement at all as the three men hunker down in their isolated farmhouse. But what can be perceived on the surface as an unwarranted coziness in the face of a hostile new world only leads to a deeper exploration of the three men’s minds and ultimately ends with their sincere and total dedication to being who they are and being together, no matter what. Of course, the ending was a teensy bit mushy and far-fetched, but it only succeeded in making me close the book with a huge smile on my face and hopefulness in my chest. I guess that’s more than perfect in times like these.

I definitely enjoyed this book more than the previous installment, Smolder. I never really found myself struggling to get through the trilogy, but I also didn't find myself all that saddened by it coming to an end.

Ignite as a series was overall a rather average read (I’d give it around 3.5-4 Stars) that just felt like it was missing a bit of something to give it that push from being simply an enjoyable read to being a favorite of mine. It did, however, manage to keep me reading by capturing my interest when it came to the alien species and the backstories of both Mack and Tan. I think my favorite part was getting to see these two face their pasts and put them behind them in order to move forward.

While Mack and Tan both had well-developed personalities and histories, I couldn’t help feeling that we never got to know Austin as well as the other guys. Maybe it’s just because he doesn’t have as tragic of a backstory as the other two but my attachment to him was the weakest of the bunch. I did, however, appreciate how protective he was of both Tan and Mack and his willingness to admit to his mistakes when he made them.

I loved the setup for this post-apoc world and the added concept of the world (especially the U.S.) already being a mess prior to the aliens invading. In the Ignite series, young gay men and women who are discovered inside the Conservative U.S. are sent to reintegration camps which are essentially conversion camps for the LGBT. It's at one of these camps in South Dakota that our three men first meet and while none of them have an easy life there, or for Mack prior to his arrival there, Tan's experiences cause him the most psychological damange leading to him dealing with severe PTSD even after escaping the camp on the night of the alien invasion.

While this series has been consistently sex heavy, this third installment significantly increased the ammount of sex taking place between the three main men. I wouldn't usually have much of a problem with this, but they tended to have sex in the strangest moments and situations (the most awkward being when there's nothing but blankets/curtains seperating them from the others, including one of the guys' fathers). While I understood that they wanted to make the most out of their time together in the off chance that their plan wasn’t successful...it seemed a bit excessive at times.

The relationship between Pax (a Zagorian) and a certain older (human) male seemed to be so randomly added in, especially since we never really get to witness them interacting on page. The author did mention a short featuring them so who knows, I could wind up loving them together if I give that one a read.

I honestly just wish we could've gotten to know the Zagorians and their history / culture a bit more throughout this series. I would even be interested in a series focusing on the few Zagorians who remained on Earth.

Possible triggers: talks of rape and beatings and severe abuse.
This was good for an ending. Not at all what I was expecting. I will tell you that. I had a feeling in the end, where they would end up but other than that, I was shocked at the turns of events and how it all worked out.
Austin, Tan, and Mack are trying to survive, but with the latest earthquakes, they know they’re going to have to move and soon. Things are falling apart, their hideout is collapsing and things are looking grim. They come up with a plan to take out the aliens, when caught by others themselves. The others are a breakoff of soldiers, one being someone Tan knows. And they conclude that it would be better to work together. But that doesn’t mean there is any trust there. But when they make the attack, they find their old friend Pax helping them out in more ways than one. But even with Pax and his friends’ help, will they be able to survive what is happening to the world, or is this their end?
I was so proud of these boys. I really was. To go through what they had in their lives and come out relatively sane at all, is very telling. Tan has PTSD, Mack has a way of going off into himself to cope, but they still keep going. And Mack has more than proven he could have been someone high ranking in the military or something, with how smart and efficient he was. His survivor skills were right on and he knew what he was doing. But what made me even more proud, was that even though they may have had flashbacks or for Tan, something worse, they were coming to grips with things that had happened to them and were learning to deal with it. Learning to cope and totally rely on each other. Knowing that they had each other’s backs, no matter who or what came along. They stuck beside each other through thick and thin, the ups and downs and everything in between. Even if all they had ever again was each other, they were happy with that. They were happy they had each other and could finally love each other freely and happily. They’ve grown so much. And each day, they seem to get stronger and stronger. Knowing they had the support to get through anything.
The twists in this book were good too. I wasn’t expecting the few surprises that came along but they turned out well. Hesitant at first on some things. Which was understandable. But it was a good ending.

Keeps you Guessing

This book is part of a series and you do need to be read them in order.

I really enjoyed this book and this series. Austin, Mack and Tan are such amazing men and I loved reading their story. Austin, who isn't afraid to let others lead and whose strength the guys depend on. Tan, a man that has been hurt deeply but one who also has a heart that wants to give and receive love. Mack, the glue that holds this group together. I loved how Mack shared his feelings so freely and opened the door for a deeper connection between them. I loved how he was quick to defend Austin and Tan even if it was from themselves. I loved how he listened to their concerns and offered advice that was not judgemental but from the heart. I liked how he grew into a strong confident man that wasn't afraid to take a stand or to take charge when needed.

Book three picks up where "Smolder" ended.
The earthquakes are getting much worse and threatening the farm where they have been staying. The men decide to investigate the aliens' campsite and see if they are still nearby. While searching for answers they run into other people who are also concerned about the increasingly worse earthquakes. Are they friends and should they be trusted?

I wasn't sure how this could end on a HEA with so many odds stacked against them but I really liked the ending. I liked how Tan was working on healing and being more willing to share. I liked how the new characters fit into the story. They felt well developed and I wanted to see what they would do. I liked Pax's role and how we get to see more of him.
Exciting ending that keeps you engaged and guessing right up to the end. Highly recommended.

Entry #31 on my quarantine reading list.

Burn is the third and final book in the Ignite trilogy by Nora Phoenix. Because book two ended so abruptly (and mid bang I might add) I dove right in to this book to finally get the conclusion and HEA that we have been waiting for. This book certainly delivered that and more, especially when it came to the involvement of our favourite alien friend Pax and his crew. As with previous books, the relationship between our MCs continued to grow and evolve as they are faced with the challenges of surviving in the post-invasion world. Their interactions got a bit sappier this time than I would have liked, but it was highly satisfying to see all three of them finally getting the love and affection they deserve. One thing I didn't expect and was a pleasant surprise, was how much I liked Pax. I thought he was adorable, and would 100% get on board with a Pax & Brody story. Overall this was an interesting and original series that was a welcome change from my usual fare. I would definitely recommend it to someone who is looking for something a little different that dabbles in a few different genres.

Def in the minority with this series. I pretty much listened to this third installment with half an ear. I'm not sure why this didn't work for me, prob how unrealistic so much of it was (I mean beyond the whole alien apocalypse stuff, which I was totally there for). For example, they're running for their lives to escape the Yellowstone volcano fallout and get to NY and yet they take time to stop at the god-awful conversion therapy camp so that Tan could get some kind of closure. And of course run into Adam, who granted I didn't like but his murder at the hands of Tan's brother seemed awfully harsh and gratuitous. Whatever. And what about when the boys first meet Tan's brother and his gang while spying on the aliens, and Tan's brother doesn't recognize Austin from when he previously interrogated him? Did I miss something there? Also too many plot points that seemed extremely convenient, such as Pax, the friendly, English-speaking alien. I shouldn't even bitch about this bc I finished this book over a week ago and have read a handful of books since so can't remember enough details to support my argument. Suffice to say, I rolled my eyes a lot at how opportune things became.

I enjoyed the last bit that covered their new life in Australia. And the part about Austin's dad and Pax? Adorbs. Overall though this series was a swing and a miss and I'm sorry I don't have better words to summarize why.

I only planned to read a few chapters before going to bed. I should have known better. There was no way I was putting this book down once I started it. I loved both Ignite and Smolder, and Burn was the perfect conclusion to the trilogy. I was honestly worried for the characters and had no idea how Nora Phoenix was going to be able to give the reader’s the happy ending she advertised. But oh my, the ending was perfect and the plot was extremely clever. The world building was phenomenal, and I easily could have happily read more about this world and the alien race that was bent on stealing all of Earth’s oil.

Nora Phoenix has a talent for creating wonderful and dynamic characters. The relationship between Austin, Tan, and Mack was tender, sweet, and so so so so hot. The sex scenes were incredible and had me fanning myself because of all the steamy heat. The emotions between the three men were sweet, protective, and supportive. I could feel their love for each other through the pages.

This is a wonderful book and a fascinating series. I highly recommend it (but make sure to read the first two books first!)

Nora Phoenix's Burn, the third book in her Ignite series, is a fantastic end to this thrilling trilogy. And yes, you need to have read the first two books to enjoy this.

Things were bad in Ignite and Smoulder, but things get even worse for the men in Burn. The situation is intense, keeping the reader intrigued throughout.

A tale of survival, the author mixes action with suspense, danger, romance, and love. It's impressive the way that the emotions continue to be about personal growth as well as the current situations they find themselves in. Not only are these three men trying to survive each day, they are also helping one another to deal with their pasts and comfort one another with undying love.

More than anything, I enjoy the way the series is wrapped up. Reading along, it's tough to guess where things will go to have a happy ending, but the author definitely succeeds in leaving things off on a great note. I truly love the ending.

I highly recommend Nora Phoenix's Ignite series when you're in the mood for a gay dystopian tale. Be prepared to just go with it, not looking for accuracy in everything, and you'll enjoy every moment of Burn.

This book, the last of the trilogy, continue the plot in many very imaginative ways. I cannot even imagine the amount of research and creativity that this author must have employed to create this series. Aliens, earthquakes, a futuristic world, and then volcanoes that topped it all resulted in a very chaotic but fascinating finale. I feel like there was enough in this crazy creative world to spawn a dozen different spinoffs, And I do look forward to the novella based on the adorable alien Pax.

What I liked the best was how character development and interaction were still the priority in these books. One thing I don’t like about romantic suspense is that so often characters get to an intimate scene only to be interrupted by some violent action that takes another chapter to explain. In this series, it never felt like character dialogue or intimate scenes were just shoved in between the chaos. I may not personally prefer to read about such dark events and death on a regular basis, but I would read more like this from this author in a heartbeat.

Apocolyptic Sci-fi MMM

3 stars!

This series started off so good with an invasion and trying to survive but got less good as it went.

Book 3 is the final part of the story and while it wasn't bad it also wasn't great. A true sci-fi lover would be disappointed in the annoyingly idiotic decisions these characters make. I get there is an underlying "romance" story but I feel like the author focused too much on that and left the apocalyptic story be a secondary story. Maybe that is just how I feel when characters stop in the middle of something crazy happening to get jiggy with it but that just isn't realistic to me. When you take up precious room in your bags for lubes because "priorities" that is too much for me.

Really this was an ok series but it really felt like book 1 was planned and thought out and made sense and books 2 and 3 were just trying to figure out a way to finish.

Such a good emotional book.

Austin, Mack and Tan are so good together. I loved their relationship. No drama all loving and caring. Tan had to deal with a lot of trauma with the camp. His relationship with Calvin took time, which is very understandable. I don’t know why but I felt sorry for Calvin. He f***** up big time, but at least he decided to change into a better man. His team was great. Austin finding his dad was so great. I love Pax and his friends. The way they talked and tried to communicate was cute. Then they decided to pick their own names which was awesome. The ship taking off part was crazy. It made me so nervous.

Lots of sad parts in this book so be prepared for deaths. Luckily none of the main characters. This was a great book. Would be interesting to do a book with Pax and Brody.

I like the combination of sci-fi, dystopian future and mm romance. This final entry in the trilogy started off with a bang (hello trio having fun in the bedroom), and ended with a vision of hope for the future.

My main issue with the book was that if the aliens are such a high tech society, why on earth (no pun intended) would they need fossil fuels? I would think that they would have developed a way better energy source... but then again that's the whole reason for the book. And the aliens all being male and humanoid, especially with this being part mm romance, just made me go hmmmmm.

There were military elements to this series that kept it exciting. Watching the relationship develop between the trio (and they all had their separate issues) and seeing what they needed to do to survive kept me entertained and overall I really the series.

I waited until finishing the 3rd book in this series to do a review. I was initially pretty impressed with the worldbuilding, story and characters. I connected with their backstory and felt drawn to each of them differently. I probably liked Austin the most throughout the series, followed by Mack and then Tan was my least liked by the end. I found there was a lot of time and effort centered on him, around him, at the cost of taking away from both Austin and Mack and their own traumatic pasts.
It just felt wrong on a few different levels. They needed more one on one time to help heal from their wounds and the ones Tan kept piling onto them.

Overall I enjoyed this series and would recommend it with the above mentions.

Surprised!

I never read this genre, though I do love Nora Phoenix and have read several of her books. So I thought I’d try this series. It was strange at first, all new to me and a bit far fetched maybe. Once the first book was done I was in. Loved their relationship and loved the progression of it all the way through to the end! I’d love to see a book about the couple the last chapter mentioned at the end! Though we know they’re in a relationship, I’d love to read about it! Definitely recommend this series and all of Nora Phoenix’s books!

The ending was creative BUT the author basically broadcasted the conclusion of the book by how apocalyptic everything became. The distance they travelled in the time they travelled, was incoherent. I've driven large parts of their journey myself, and it was nuts.

ALSO I know this is a romance novel so I'm supposed to just go with it. But they travelled like 3000km in 3 days and somehow had time to fuck 2??? Like you've been awake for two days, sex before sleep, sure. Just insane.

I did love the setting of these books tho and the dynamic of the main trio.
