She Stood by Me is a romance fiction and debut book of Tarun Vikash. The subtitle "Love is not a relationship" is intriguing, and in a deep sense, it tells us that it is a lifelong commitment. The cover page and blurb give an idea about the story, but it is a journey, that as a reader, we enjoy a lot.
Plot - This is a tale of Aparna and Abhishek. A boy who is shy and madly in love, while the girl has no idea about it. Two friends, Manish and Nidhi who helped them to avow their love. Their love story begins with a sweet note, but soon reality smacks them. First, they went to different cities to study, and then the job. It was hard for them to sustain a long-distance relationship. They didn't meet often, which leads to further chaos. They decide to tie the knot, but their parents want something else.
The story portrays a hardcore Indian family with a relative's drama and social pressure. Love marriages are still a big deal in India. No matter whatever the situation is, Aparna and Abhishek stand with each other. If you ever love someone or deal with wedding drama, then you can connect with every single character.
The fear when parents knew about your affair, the naughty friends who create more trouble, but in the end support you in every possible way. The relatives and parents worry about what will they think or say are narrated very well. The story is written by male POV, that's why I felt that Tarun Vikash didn't do justice with Aparna's character in many places.
What I like - the language is lucid without any syntactic errors. The narration is steady and fast-paced. Being a debutant, Tarun Vikash did a good job, but he has the potential to compose a tale way better than this. This is a simple love story of a middle-class people, and the stuff that I mentioned earlier is their actuality somehow. The struggle is authentic when it comes to love marriage, so if you're looking for some light romance novels, pick this one. Recommended to newbies.
She stood by me by Tarun Bikash is YA romantic fiction . This story revolves around Aparna and Abhi mainly. They came from different backgrounds. Aparna comes from a upper middle family while Abhi is from a lower middle Family. But this difference doesn't affect their friendship and later their relationship.
Each every character has been portraited with great research. The mentality of middle class family towards love marriage is also penned down nicely.
The story is quite predictable and in some cases extra pulling of the plot has made the story slow paced. This book could have been way better than those unnecessary details.
But this book will remind you of heart break, first love and friendship and will be perfect for a light read !
I don’t know how many of you paid attention, but I liked Abhi’s friend Manish’s character. He was damn stupid yet funny. The first half I thought he was a sort of villain. Even other characters also played a good and humours role in the novel. Abhi’s inner voice was a star thing in the narration. It was brought out brilliantly. Other than the core love story, I was amazed to know other aspects like long-distance relationship and marriage talks and circumstances of Abhi’s sisters. The story had a few villains but they were covered so clandestinely that I got some respect for them as well. There are thousands of romance novels coming out every month in India, of writers like Durjoy, Ravinder, Nikita, Ajay, and so on. But this one too deserves much applause. I give 5 out of 5 stars.
This is the love story between a privileged and rich girl Aparna and a middle-class boy Abhishek. The story starts at Patna when they were preparing for the IIT exams. Later on they move away for education and career and their love story got distanced. But still they are connected. How they were connected and maintained their love story despite the difficulties made the rest of the narration. From a light one to intense point, their story was worth the time and efforts. Romance has a different meaning altogether in it. Do check about this book.
A riveting and simple romance love story of two innocent and charming people: Abhi and Aparna. How a love story forms in a middle-class, with some limitations, is truly depicted in this novel. I liked the subtle mention of differences of being rich and poor when it comes to marriage. Social status is thing of stigma for marriage propositions. The novel is written in simple language. I had no difficulty understanding it. Soothing read with good subplots and intentions.
Amazing romance novel by the first-time author. I liked the nuances covered in the part of the novel about his family drama and difficulties that stop him from meeting his girlfriend Aparna. As the novel moves on, it becomes heavy and serious. In the end I liked its unexpected twist. The novel was pure on love feeling. I took time to finish it but overall I was overwhelmed by the story and its climaxes. A highly recommended novel for romance lovers!
This is not a complicated story. The message is clear, that love is simple, and transcends all. The author has kept the characters simple and genuine, unlike the new normal of "broken" people. There are the people you will meet on the streets, at work, and this is their story, of the simple people who carry on their lives beyond the limelight.
I have never been a romance fiction reader. I came across this novel through a known friend. She insisted me to read it. I picked it up and it intrigued me to keep going. It is a must read for romance lovers who don't understand the meaning of love and how a couple's struggle makes it strong.
Amidst so many failed love stories, this story brings hope that true love still exists. A reason to smile and believe in love. Definetely a good read especially for youngsters who Dont Even understand the meaning of love. Easy to connect to, relatable content for love Birds, simple language used, smooth transition of story. Altogether a must read story for those who believe in love and love reading romantic novels. It will make u laugh and emotional both at the same time. Kudos to the writer👍👍
Best Part of the book is Innocent inner feelings of the lover boy, true & funny a friend who is always there, a never give up attitude in life and most importantly the author approaches the love with positivity, understanding the silence and accepting each other four who they are. Best love book that i have come across for this year, wish it was a true story 😍

Here comes a Romantic novel This is a true story of Abhishek and Aparna which beautifully cover phases of love and every time they stood by each other and had a long lasting relationship since many years A perfect blend of traditional and modern culture. Aparna’s trust in Abhishek never let Abhishek down and every time she was there to help him and pull him up financially, career wise and family wise. The title is totally justified. Long Distance relationship, Financial problems, parents’ pressure is what makes a love story interesting. This book lime lights to the problem now a days youth faces is that there is always love and love and not a ‘love relationship’. As the book says “Love is not a Relationship” Abhishek is our main character who is shy and fear to talk to girls but is now in a long lasting relationship. Aparna is Abhishek’s Girl friend who always stood by her and is a sanskari girl. The storyline is slow paced and sometimes I felt the author is dragging things which was losing my interest and it is a typical Indian love story so one can expect what happens next. But the writing style of author in dialogues is helpful for beginners to start with this book For more tap this link https://soulcalmer.blogspot.com/2020/...
It's a romance fiction. The story is about two individuals belonging from different financial background. Aparna a highly ambitious girl, not seeking for love mets with Abhi who loves to live in present. Abhi falls madly in love with her but she didn't wanted that relationship at that time.
Soon they separate their ways due to respective commitments and but they maintain their growing relationship and when they decided to be together forever, they started facing all kinds of difficulties starting from their families. How long will they able to stand for each other and will they be ever be together in life is what we will read here.
It's a typical love story, a predictable one. Very related to Indian family dramas. Though I enjoyed reading it I will recommend it to romance lovers looking for a light read or for beginners. The language was easy and the narration was fast paced. I liked the cover and the title suits the storyline. Overall a good read.
I am in awe with romance novels as I love exploring tenderness of hearts and the delicate fabrics of relations that make or break humans. This is a good novel, I had read it on Kindle. The length of the novel was fairly good and I had no time thinking as how I am going to finish it. There are a lot of twists and turns in the story – it starts with two just school passed students – Abhi and Aparna and a few more characters. I loved the way author stretched up the timeline for their story and filled it up with twists, turns, events, circumstances, and the best part is wit and humour, which never dips. Also the casual and conversational writing style makes the story quite surreal and relevant to the young mass of India. A great love story with great depth! I truly relished the literature content of the book. Easy on nerves, a very likeable story! A must read those who believe in true love.
Written in simple and casual way, this novel expounds us the true meaning of love to us. How is love different than being into a relationship, is portrayed brilliantly in the story over a period of time. I think the novel went like a phase in life. Maybe based on true life events, be it any, I found the story of great relevance. This is a one of the best romance novels I have ever read -I do not know the exact reasons, but I liked it from my heart. There is something innocent and charm factor about the story of both guys. One can learn a lot from their story, I mean Abhi was a good guy but had to struggle just to make his love feel like a real one, though he was into a straight love with Aparna. But Aparna at point of time mocked him until she met with an untoward accident that changed the winds for Abhi. Give it a try, it is better than any Durjoy book.
Love follows its path, which at times, is away from the one we want it to follow. It's only with time and partially with life that we realise, perhaps it was meant to be, perhaps love knew a little more that we did. . .
The author brings to us one such story, laden with commendable emotional constitution and well thought of characters. The characterization exhibited, is the north star for this narrative; getting it back on track everytime it gets a little more detailed and insipid. . .
Aparna and Abhi, both struggling to find their awakening; both headstrong in their own journey and somewhere, somehow significantly they're governed by the laws of their universe. The author takes us on a journey of love, to explore if love is sufficient to connect these two universes. Author: @tarun_vikash Language: English
Book: She Stood By Me Author: Tarun Vikash (He's from Patna, Bihar) Publisher: Goya Publishing
The author has written his debut novel.
Let me tell you that I’m not fond of love stories as most Indian writers write about the breakup and related to that which I don’t like that much.
It’s a story about Aparna and Abhi. Abhi is a shy boy who’s madly in love with Aparna and she’s unaware of it.
The story starts when they were preparing for the IIT exam in Patna.
Later they moved to different cities to study and later on to do a job and because of this reason their love story got distanced but somehow they were connected.
They wanted to tie a not but it wasn’t that easy because they lived in an Indian society where love marriage is still a big challenge.
This story narrates the drama which we usually see in case of love marriage.
The character which I liked most was of Manish who’s a friend of Abhi.
There are many romance novels in the market written by famous writers but let me tell you, this one is really interesting as you would relate it to the middle-class family.
The cover is really beautiful. This book is written in simple language and the characters are well portrayed.
The author has done a great work.
I’ll recommend this book to the people who love to read a romance novel.
The author has written his debut novel . I was tired of reading novels on break ups, which most of the Indian authors are writing . Tarun finally gave us a riveting love story I would cherish that I read . It is based on a true love story and author has tried to cite every emotion with great detailing. Humor in is the air as the novel starts and the characters are well woven . One never feels like keeping the novel down any time. The characters Abhi and Aparna who are in love show us what love actually means. Their struggle is as intriguing as was their romance. The climax was amazing and the ending was unexpected . Waiting for his next novel . Five stars no doubt.
I read this book and i must say that this is my favorite one. It takes you on jolly ride of all feelings of friendship , love , and relationships . I laughed and cried at the same time and every time was excited to know what’s next . Every chapter unfolds an emotional drama which is beautifully written and conveyed in author’s own style which is unique and rare and makes you become part of characters to believe it. Really a commendable job on author’s side and a must read book for a new and different experience.
It's a wonderful book with a lots of humour and wits. I liked the inner voice of the lead Abhi. It was that voice and some more fun that kept me glued to the novel. Written in dialogue form, it was easy on nerves and I was able to buy in their incredible love story.
Presenting a different view of modern concept of love
A 175 pages smart moving romantic novel... the conversations between protagonists Abhishek and Aparna have been beautifully written but the characters have not been properly located during most of the time Was fun reading the talks, the book is basically funny with seriousness making its place during last quarter of the novel Aparna and Abhishek has soooo much ups and downs that, it sometimes makes the book interesting and sometimes makes it a bit predictable Overall a good read for a romance reader who finds humour appreciable
Debutant Novel-Ist, Mr.Simple🙂 and My good Friend Tarun Vikas' Debut Novel Is tempting for each page, chapter after chapter. Abhi's affection and Aprna's Ambitions, All have their fair shares of struggles, obstacles and sparkling eyes Endings. As the chapter goes by and After meeting after A long Time interest is more than exponential. A Must Read Novel Guys and definitely one Of the best Emotional-RomanCe Novel.
I loved reading this book because the characters are very relatable ! There’s no exaggeration and the choice of words are really good. The characters and the story grows organically and I must admit that i read the whole book in one go ! I would urge all the readers to buy the book and read it. Congrats Tarun and wishing you much success.
I came across this novel through a female colleague. She said , she loved the novel. Frankly I don't read romantic novel but I gave it a try and found it very intriguing. I couldn't keep it until I finished it. I must say author have put great effort in giving us such a great piece of story. Go for it !!!!!
Mne bht si books read ki h pr yeh sb se alag h , yeh hume batati h ki pyar kya hota h or uske lye kse stand lena hota h. M Tarun Vikash sir ko bht bht dhanyawad krta hu jinne yeh book likhi 🤗🤗🤗. Bhagwan apko humse kush rhake 🤗🤗🤗🤗😍😍😍😍
This was my first novel by any author. I heard about it from a friend when I bought it. The cover page and the tiltle was captivating. Once started I could not keep the novel. Abhi and Aparna moved me to tears seeing their love. The author has brought each emotion with care. I am happy that I picked it. Highly recommend for people looking for love.
She Stood by Me by author Tarun Vikash is a story which revolves around Aparna and Abhi. The male protagonist Abhi is a shy boy who happens to fall madly in love with Aparna. With the help of his friends Manish and Nidhi, Abhi took the courage to ask Aparna out and that’s how their love blossomed. However, reality strikes when both of them happen to go their own ways to study, followed by taking jobs in a different city. The book shows how falling in love and keeping the love floating needs more than just time and trust. It includes family coming in the picture and making things more complicated. We are all aware of how love marriage is a big thing in Indian society and the book has clearly highlighted the same message. Going by the subtitle of the book which says, ‘Love is not a relationship’ it is clear that Love is more than that. I won’t be giving away much about the story line, but I will surely say it is a typical love story of two people falling in love in a beautiful way and meeting the standard of keeping the love alive.
