My name is Zara King and I’m still fighting to stay alive.
Isolone has brought nothing but threat and danger to my life, throwing me into turmoil again and again. I thought all I wanted was to escape and live my life outside, I guess I should have been careful what I wished for. Thrust out into a world wrought with danger with six other people and only one I know I can trust, I’m about to discover that beyond the wall the world is just as scary.
And even though we are the only humans out here, we aren’t the only species wandering around, the wildlife has been changed into a greater threat than we could have anticipated. If that isn’t bad enough, there’s also a threat to my life from my own team, I may not be in Isolone right now, but it’s still trying to kill me and I’m still refusing to just lay back and let it happen.
Relationships will be made, bonds will be forged and lives will be lost and we will find out just how good at acting we truly are. I’ve been pretending ever since I was put on the Elixir and the reasons to continue my charade are only growing.
I have my allies and men who say they want me but when push comes to shove will they fight to stay by my side or roll over and die. My enemies haven’t changed but their methods have differed and its hard to stay one step ahead.

B.C. Morgan lives in England with her amazing fella, their twin devils (also called kids), and their pets. She’s a lover of all things creative from baking to drawing, if it’s creative she’ll give it a go. For someone who claims to not like people, she somehow always manages to surround herself with friends and family.

While B.C. loves bringing life to all the voices in her head, who demands she tells the world their story, she sometimes wishes they were less homicidal. But alas, what’s a poor author to do when death and destruction is being demanded?! To be fair it isn’t really surprising B.C.’s characters are acting like that, considering she has a list with everyone who’s wronged her. It started with the tooth fairy who didn’t pay for her teeth.

I read this as an ARC and all I can say is it is an amazing continuation of the series. Zara continues to be one of my all time favorite heroines. Her heart is so large and she loves so fully and deeply. BC has done an amazing job building this amazing post apocalyptic world. I love the twists and turns and there were several great surprises along the way. I can't wait for the continuation of this series to see what happens with Zara and her guys.

Brilliant Book! Amazing second book in the series.
Zara has been sent to the outside. There is more to fear than just the deadly plant life. Marcus has eyes and ears everywhere - zara needs to find outwit he is up to but are Caleb, Jacob, michael and Jarrod really on her side?
This is a really good read. Really enjoyed this.

This book needs to come with a warning - that cliffhanger!!! Pretender by BC Morgan is Book 2 in her Drop of Death series. I would certainly recommend that you read book 1 first as the second book follows on and a lot of the characters from the first are also involved again. BC’s great world building continues and the awful hopelessness of the world they live in is depressing. I’ll say again that it is a complex read, medium burn RH, dystopian - it's a super read. And hello Cooper!! Book 3 will be eagerly anticipated.

Soooo much happens in this book. I’m not going to lie. I’m confused. So confused. It’s a really good book and there’s a lot of back and forth between the characters and their multiple POV. I feel like we are left out a lot. The characters will be talking about something but it won’t tell you what they are talking about. I can only assume that it will come to light in the next book? I loved it and I can’t wait for the next book.

Zara is given a mission to go outside the wall to check the probabilities of survival and of DoD... L'l did she know, it’s a ploy for her murder but, with her conscience and good nature she wins over one of her to be murderers... It’s phenomenal how she survives and get back inside the wall, only to know it’s just the beginning... The Author framed a nice plot and brought about twists and turns for the reader to make the story compelling to be read... A marvel and an engaging piece of work by B C Morgan...

In this book we see Zara, our fav mc, travel out into the wilds beyond the wall and face any number or craziness!!! Murdering psychopaths, crazy mutant animals, the drop of death itself, and of course her very own traitorous heart that has led her to find yet another amazing match or two 😉. I might be stupid or naive but I really loved the unexpected romance I found in this book. It was really precious. But of course just like in real life every choice has a consequence and I’m dying to know how this is all going to play out back in Isolone. As per usual BC Morgan really gives you everything you could want. The story is action packed, fast paced, and exciting to read. If you’re looking for a dystopian Rh with all the things this is for you 🖤 I hope you guys all enjoy this one as much as I have!!

Whelp, Marcus is still up to his shenanigans but so are many others as well. Everyone seems to have a hidden agenda. The level of secrecy from the characters in this book is mind boggling but it sure does keep things interesting!! There are lots of things that will surprise you when you read. The author does a phenomenal job of keeping you hooked and guessing what will happen next. DoD has taken its toll on the outside world but it seems the citizens are being lied to about many aspects of their world's past. It also turns out that more people are pretending than we thought, pretending and playing a part to appease or fool others, just so they can wait and make their move when the time is right. But can you guess who? I'll have to admit that cliffhanger was completely unexpected! And here I am biting my nails and going crazy wondering what the next book will bring.

This is the second book in this series. I really enjoyed the first book and was excited to jump into the second. In this book, Zara is outside the city walls. Drop of Death isn't her only enemy out there either and she quickly learns this. Yet she is still trying to keep everyone else safe. That is the thing about Zara, she is just way too kind hearted.

So I am really enjoying this story. I wasn't as happy with the flow of this book as the first but it wasn't enough to take me out of the story. It just got a little confusing at times. Overall though I'm loving these characters. My heart breaks for some of them and some I'm happy with the outcome. I'm definitely hooked into the story now and waiting on book three.

Pretender is book two in the Drop of Death series. Book one is the Survivor, which I recommend that you read them in order to fully understand the characters and the plot better. BC does an excellent job of continuing the series, with some twists and turns that kept my interest throughout the book. That is not to say I was not confused a couple of times , but it was on me reading too fast. Because yes there is some switching of POV's so be careful and don't be in a rush.

I am enjoying Zara as a female lead. She is exactly how I like reading my female main characters, she is tough and loves completely. There is nothing that she would not do for those that she loves and it shows.

There is a lot of depth to this series, and this book. BC has a way of making the reader "think" and figure out things. Just when I thought I had things figured out, bam, I did not. I am looking forward to book three to find out some answers.

What a fantastic continuation to the Drop of Death series by BC Morgan. In book one of the series, Zara King is tested to her limits, even though all she’s ever wanted is to escape from Isolone the decision has now been taken out of her hands and she is forced to leave the safety of the city. The twists and turns through the story really are a rollercoaster ride from start to finish. The world and character building continue from the first book and everything is perfect, Zara is as kick ass as she was in the first book and it makes me love her more. I can’t wait to get the third book in this series and find out what happens next in this world and to the characters along the way. Would definitely recommend this entire series if you like a good post apocalyptic dystopian read, with a lot of hot men and why choose!

*Spoiler Alert*
Book 2 picks up with Zara (FMC) and her team including Cooper being sent outside the wall. A dangerous inhospitable place where DOD (Drop of Death) is still rife except thats not the only dangerous thing out there. If you count blood thirsty animals and dodgy team members. I couldnt help but like the kid - Maurice even though he was completely out of his depth being there her was one of the genuinely sweet characters. A few home truths were found out in this book and they shocked the hell out of me! Still i couldnt put its down. It keeps you glued to it from the start to finish and its so worth. Its a brilliant read

I received this book as an ARC for exchange of an honest review. All my opinions are my own.

This is the second book in B.C. Morgan’s dystopia RH series. Pretender is an amazing continuation of the series. The book is action-packed and is fast-paced. There are several surprises along the way. Some great twists and turns in the plot.

The world-building is fantastic and the author has come up with a great post-apocalyptic world.
The main character is still one of my favourite heroines. She has a large heart and she is lovable. The story is told by many different points of views and sometimes it got a little bit of confusing. I love Zara and her men, and I want more of them.

I want to read more of this series and can’t wait for what is to come.

Get ready for one heck of a ride because Pretender is quite the rollercoaster. There is a LOT going on in this book. So many secrets. I loved how things were kept from us and then brought to light later; it kept me very interested and invested in reading to find out what was going on. There’s a lot of switching POVs between characters so make sure you are watching because it does get confusing at times. I can’t wait to see what’s next and how everything plays out!

Pretender is book two in the Drop of Death series, I definitely recommend reading book one first, the story line follows a lot of the characters you’ll meet in book one. Zara has become one of my favorite heroines. Her heart is huge she loved deeply and is not afraid to fight for those who she loves.

I love BC Morgan’s twist on the post apocalyptic world Zara finds herself in. Your heart will go out to Zara and all the suffering she had to endure. This book will keep you on the edge of your seat wondering what’s going to happen next, to wanting to throw your kindle and the latest jerk placing odds against Zara. Eagerly awaiting book 3.

What a beautiful gut wrenching second book in the drop of death series. This book must be read after book one and it leaves us with a huge cliffhanger. Be warned! But what a beautiful world B. C. Morgan has created. The complexities of the world, the plot and the characters come together in a fantastic read. I loved the whole premise of this idea and I fell in love with the dystopian world, with the RH inclusion. Beautifully written and planned out. Exciting read!

Perfect

I am completely taken by this series.
The characters have such strong personalities and are not afraid to show them.
The fmc is just a woman trying to make it through the trials of her life and love the men she wants to be with.
This is a must read series and you will not regret one moment of it.

This is another amazing continuation by BC Morgan! I love diving into apocalyptic worlds and this one is always a joy to revisit! I enjoyed reading about the changes in the wildlife, how the outer surrounding of Isolone differs drastically to the inside and how their experiences in this environments affected their relationships. I definitely can't wait for the next book already and to see what happens with Zara and her many love interests!

Great book!

This is book 2 in a post apocalyptic series. Zara is outside the walls and even though she is in danger herself, she is constantly trying to protect everyone else and keep them safe.
Amazing book with plenty of twists and turns. BC has done it again!
