I just love this Seaside Saga series and am always excited for my next visit back to Stony Point. Every Summer picks up where the previous book ended and we are dropped back into the lives Jason, Maris, Shane, Celia, Elsa and all the rest. It's like visiting with old friends again.

This story is a little more fraught with tension and drama than others in the past, as couples try to figure out their lives and as brothers try to reconcile a divide of fifteen years. It was definitely a page turner as I wanted to make sure everyone was going to be okay, and happy.

And then..... the reader is left with not everything being resolved and not everyone in a happy place. I really need the next book! Luckily Joanne's next book is coming out in May so I don't have long to wait. I love my visits to Stony Point and can't wait to go back again soon.

Every Summer is the 10th installment in this Seaside Series, and I get more emotionally involved in each book! These books take me back to Stony Point, a great beach community with a group of friends who love each other, who meddle in each other’s lives—a group of people that feel like my own friends. There is deep love on every page of this book, but there is also deep pain, and those things add up to this heart-tugging novel. So take yourself to Stony Point, breathe the salt air, watch the ocean stars when the sun is shining, dip your toes into that cool water, and get to know these wonderful characters.

Every time I read one of these beach books by Ms. DeMaio I always say this is the best one yet. As I started this one, and got half way through I thought the same thing. Just love the books and this one has to be the best.

As I read them I feel like I am sitting on the sidelines watching their lives pass by and feeling what they are feeling. The emotions run deep in this book, I think of Celia losing Sal, Shane and Maris, and now Jason and Maris, Kyle and Lauren and feel helpless because I can't help my beach friends find their way.

A really good book. As I finished this one I miss my friends again already.

There were several themes to book. It is a continuation of the story of a group of friends who had been together for many years at Stony Point Beach. The main focus this time is on Jason and Maris' s marriage. When Shane decided that he wanted to repair his relationship with his brother and stays on, several long held secrets surface.

When I read about Jason's reaction to Maris' secret. I actually got mad at him. Jason had worked so hard to heal his friend's wrenching problems, and he had been so through so much tragedy in his life and he did manage with the help of his friends and his resolve to get through them, I was at him because I too have been through terrible times and I survived. I felt that he should have learned by then but instead he fell into his old habit of fleeing the problem.

It was difficult to make through the emtional weight of the main story and I was grateful for the other parts of the story that broke up the emotional turmoil.

I received an Advance Copy of this book from the author and my thoughts and feelings in this review are my own.

In Every Summer, the beach friends' story continues where Little Beach Bungalow, left off. Author Joanne DeMaio transports the reader back to the tranquil seashore town of Stony Point, Connecticut, where the summer season is coming to a close. The story picks up in the the last week of August, where relationship issues and long-held secrets will change the lives of friends: Maris, Jason, Eva, Matt, Kyle, Lauren, Elsa, Cliff, Nick, Paige, Vinny, Celia, and Shane.

In Every Summer, Author Joanne DeMaio easily captivates her readers' attention with this beautifully written tale through a seamless and flowing storyline, and with a wonderful description of a tranquil beach setting that wraps itself around the reader like a sun-warmed beach towel. The characters draw you into their lives with a strong emotional pull, their complexities and flaws are true-to-life, it is easy to relate to them with compassion, empathy, and hope.

With a mixture of intrigue, suspense, drama, humor, heartache, hidden secrets, romance, and a strong bond of friendship, the close of the summer season will take the reader on an emotional roller coaster ride as the beach friends deal with old memories, long held secrets, past hurts, and an entwined history. Shane is in town for one last week, and he hopes to reconnect with his brother Kyle, and put an end to their troubled past. Then there is Maris and Jason, who are struggling in their marriage: their second anniversary is marred when Jason finds out about Maris' secret engagement to Shane fifteen years ago, and it pushes Jason over the edge, especially when he also struggles with the inner demons of the ten year annniversary of the tragic accident that took his leg and caused his brother Neil's death. With so much upheaval and changes this summer, can the old adage: as time heals all wounds, so does the sea air, help this group of friends continue to live by the credo: "salt air, not a care" and "cast away your troubles straight into the sea?"

The shimmering denim blue sea with its calming effect will offer them another end of the summer season of hope, love, family, friendship, heartache, mistakes, forgiveness, redemption, and blissful new beginnings. But alas, mistakes, secrets, past painful issues, and another surprising cliffhanger will leave the reader impatiently waiting to read more in Salt Air Secrets, the next installment in The Seaside Saga Series. So now that I have whet your interest in the beach friends latest comings and goings, drive under the railroad trestle and enter the enchanting beach town of Stony Point ... pull up a beach chair ... and visit with the close-knit longtime friends in author Joanne DeMaio's delightful novel, Every Summer.

Every Summer is an intricate story of interweaving friendships, life events, and deep family secrets and drama. It is a wonderful story that continues to demonstrate the power of the magical sweet salt air that will cure what ails you. This installment in The Seaside Saga Series held so much angst, you can't help but feel the full gamut of emotions as Shane and Kyle work out their brotherly issues, while heartbreaking martial troubles plague Maris and Jason. I would be remiss if I didn't mention that I wanted to thoroughly throttle Jason, while on the flip side I loved that Shane's story continued in this book, and that the cliffhanger ending certainly whets the readers appetite with a possible Shane-Celia relationship in Salt Air Secrets ... sigh.

The Seaside Saga Series is a heartwarming series of stories of friendship, family, painful secrets, new beginnings and second chances. Author Joanne DeMaio weaves a wonderful tale written in the third person narrative, that is set in the present with flashbacks to the past. The reader is transported to the tranquil seashore town of Stony Point, Connecticut, where they follow along with Celia, Maris, Eva, Matt, Jason, Kyle, Lauren, Nick, Elsa, Cliff, and Shane as their lives change like the tide's ebb and flow on their little tranquil coastal town.

Disclaimer: I received a copy of the book from the author in exchange for my honest review.

EVERY SUMMER - The Seaside Saga #10

Author: Joanne DeMaio

ANOTHER FIVE STAR REVIEW

During this crazy time we are all experiencing, it was the perfect time for me to return to the New England coast to reconnect with people I adore. Stony Point is a quaint beach town with unforgettable characters that brighten your day and remind you that friendship and loyalty are priceless.

EVERY SUMMER returns to Stony Point to tell the story of Maris and Jason. Their chemistry is undeniable! There are also many emotions and well-kept secrets that come to light between friends and family members. The one thing that never changes in this series that I feel truly makes this series remarkable is the support and loyalty among this beach side community.

Joanne, thank you for helping me escape to a magical oasis and forget about the crisis we all share. I can't wait for the next book in this series.

Home Again

There's no feeling like going home to the people & the place you hold close to your heart. That occurs each & every time I read the next book in the Beach Saga by Joanne DeMaio. The stories flow from one book to the next, with the characters evolving from their experiences, no matter the circumstances. Every Summer tied up loose ends, moved us into the future & left us wondering the outcome.
If you want to feel the breeze off Long Island Sound, hear the waves crashing along the shore, feel smooth stone glass & see glittering stars on the water, because you do, this is a testament to the author. You will find d yourself there in each & every book. I have & will continue with Book 11!

I have been anxiously awaiting this next book in The Seaside Saga & once again, Joanne delivered an amazing book. Every time I open the next book in this series, it's like meeting up again with old friends. Hearts break, other hearts mend, there is hope for new love, brothers find each other again. It's a great escape back to warm summer days in a beautiful beach community. And, it shows us that although life may look perfect in those beautiful summer homes, it isn't. As always, Joanne leaves the door open for the story to continue. I can't wait for the next book to come out.
Although this book can be read on its own, I HIGHLY recommend that you read the whole series. I have no doubt you'll fall in love with the beach friends like I have.

I love getting immersed in another of Joanne DeMaio's Seaside Saga books, and this one takes me right back to the lives of Marisa, Jason, Kyle, Lauren, Celia, and Shane, who has arrived at Stony Point after a long absence. Shane's appearance upsets all of their lives, and loves of friends for related reasons. Once again this story captures the beautiful descriptions that evoke all the senses - you can just smell, feel, hear and see... the salty air, the waves lapping at your feet, hear the gulls, see the sparkling ocean stars as the sun's rays sparkle on the blue sea....just sigh and breathe it all in. There is always a wondering at the end - and I can't wait to read the next installment of this wonderful series!

I’ve loved every book in this series and can’t wait for the next one. But I’ve had it with Jason Barlow. Time for him to put on his big boy pants and deal with it already. He plays the sympathy card for all it’s worth to excuse his bad behavior with everyone in his life. And people are still letting him get away with it after 10 years. His problems are never of his own making-it’s always someone else’s fault. I truly wished at the beginning of the book that the mistake Maris was going to admit to was that she should never have married Jason but should have married Shane instead! Crossing my fingers for Celia and Shane! They both deserve happiness. Maybe Shane quitting lobstering, moving to Stony Point, working at certain diner ........!

Loved this next chapter in the seaside saga with all the Long Island beach friends. Enjoyed how they all look out for each other during times of sadness, quarrels, etc. Lovedddd the chemistry between Celia and Shane, saddened by the rift between Jason and Maris, raved when past memories were shared amongst the friends that helped eased tensions between each other.. Definitely recommend this to all beach fans, East Cost fans, and readers who have a group of friends as special as the characters are in this great series

Life’s a Beach

The friends are back and there’s more drama. One relationship is spiraling out of control, another is mended, and there’s one developing. I always find myself watching the progress, and slowing down as I get closer to the end, because I don’t want to say goodbye. The good news is that the next book in the journey, Salt Air Secrets, will pick up where Every Summer leaves off.

Every Summer is a wonderful addition to Joanne DeMaio’s Seaside Saga. You’ll find yourself immediately transported under the railroad trestle back to the beach town of Stony Point. So excited to catch up with old friends, breathe in the sea air and be mesmerized by the ocean stars. Before long immersed in the intricacies of all their relationships...catching glimpses of the past, and wondering about the future. Eagerly awaiting Salt Air Secrets, the next book in this amazing series!

This book picked right up where the last book in the Seaside Saga left off and I enjoyed it much more than the last. Kyle's estranged brother, Shane, is still at Stony Point--not to stir up trouble--but to try to fix things with his brother. Despite his intentions, though, things around Stony Point get stirred up and the last sweet days of summer are not quite what the gang had in mind. Sigh! Another cliff hanger! Until the next book!

This book pulls at your heart. We are back in Stony Point, but this summer is not like every other summer. Oh, we do have the same cast of characters, but we are introduced to Kyle's brother, Shane. They haven't talked in over fifteen years and neither has the rest of the beach friends. Secrets are revealed, tears are cried, relationships are tested and only time will tell, if things can go back to normal. You might even shed a few tears yourself. Wonderful series.

This novel is a continuation of the storyline in her previous book, Little Beach Bungalow. There were a few times as I read when I wondered why the related incident or conversation was included, but overall the characters and the seaside setting reeled me in again. If you are a lover of the power of the sea to cure all ails, as I am, you will start this great series, The Seaside Saga, at Book #1.

This series is so special.A remarkably talented author that has the unique ability to make you feel “at home” with the beach gang. You can smell the salt air and feel the warm sunshine as you await for one of Elsa’s special bakery treats to appear. Each book has a certain focused storyline, with skillful inclusions of remembered tidbits from previous novels.I love the happiness jars! Love how the sailboat is in the window on the front cover.
I devoured the book in one sitting! My only regret is that it always ends far too soon leaving you hungry for the next one! This is my favorite one because of the connections to Maine,my home state.Highly reccommend ,you will not be disappointed.Would love to have her novels be a Hallmark movie!

Another awesome chapter in the seaside saga

I chose this rating because each book grips me and reels me in and then drops the bottom out when it ends and we have to wait for the next book.

This book I never guessed where it would end

I love all of these books and hope the series never ends

Once again the friends of Stony Point are in flux and flow like the sea. Relationships are healed, new relationships are blossoming, but others are perhaps irrevocably broken. I wish there was a real Stony Point that I could visit. But for now I will look forward to reading every book the author writes about my friends in Stony Point.

Wow.. so many things going on with the beach friends in this book. So glad Kyle and Shane worked things out. I hope Celia finds the love she’s missing since Sal’s death. Now Jason needs to get his mind back in the game or his boxer back up! Don’t let your mind screw up the things you have going right with your life and your WIFE!! Can’t wait for Salt Air Secrets!!
